Two weeks in a row
They're showing the Thorns game on the CBS cable channel. It will take two days to show up for streaming. It's bad enough they do this at all, after fans buy Paramount+ specifically to watch NWSL.
But two weeks in a row is especially annoying. /goes to unsubscribe from NWSL and Thorns YouTube channels and won't be back on Tumblr for two days. This is such bullshit.

For those who work for the United States CBS sports and NFL network television stations;
Please finally show our awesome Deaf Performers on your CBS channel WITH the Superbowl game! Not on Paramount or Nickelodeon channels.
We Deafies and Hard of Hearies should not have to download any extra app or add any other cable tv channels to see their wonderful performances!
It should be given knowledge by now to know how to use either a split screen or a PiP (picture in picture) for the opening of the game and the halftime show! It was done three times back in the 1990's, (see the photos) we have more technology today than we did back then. It should not be that difficult to accomplish.
To read the captions of songs is like reading a book or a newspaper. Deaf Performers bring songs to life with sign language. They are just as professional as any other singer or actor! They deserve to be in the limelight too, not off to the side or in a dark area. That's actually an insult to them, their careers and their cultural language! Deaf people and those with any kind of hearing loss can see the music with sign language.
🚨Inclusion matters🚨
This year is 2024, not 1920. It's time to get with the legal program.
Please do your jobs correctly.
Thank you!
🤟☺️🤟🏈

Kyle Summerall: John Madden's Eulogy of Pat Summerall
. Source:The Daily Press As John Madden said, Pat Summerall’s long time partner on the NFL on CBS and then later on FOX NFL Sunday when they were the lead announce team for CBS Sports and FOX Sports NFL coverage, Pat Summerall was the voice of the NFL. Because, one he did have a great voice for TV or radio, but he knew what we was talking about. He not only knew what he was seeing and could…

Elvira (Cassandra Peterson) spills a love potion all over a policeman (Ted Henning) in front of her talking cat Reinfield (voiced by John Paragon) in the pilot episode of The Elvira Show in 1993. Directed by Peter Bonerz and co-starring Katherine Helmond as Elvira's Aunt Minerva, the series was initially picked up for a full season by CBS and then abruptly dropped when the network's then president was hospitalized and his interim replacement, the head of sports broadcasting, deemed Peterson's double entendre brand of humor "too racy" and sexually suggestive. When the decision was announced, a number of executives walked out of the meeting in protest and one actually quit on the spot, furious to have lost the show. The two new series selected to fill the time-slot allocated for The Elvira Show were both flops and cancelled after only a few episodes. The entire unaired pilot for The Elvira Show can be found on YouTube by searching the show's title.

I love watching sports on MUTE. Often, I will have the TV on a game and listen to the radio broadcast. Radio guys tend to be better at play-by-play. Sometimes, however, the two broadcasts are not in sync. A second or two is not a problem, but when it is a big gap, such as five or more, it can be distracting. What can you do when you hate Joe Buck and Charles Davis? I wish someone would hire Dan Fouts again.

The NFL’s schedule release is dumb. Here’s how to revamp it
The NFL’s schedule release is dumb. Here’s how to revamp it
Photo: AP The NFL strives to become a year-round player in the professional sports attention economy. After years of being stuffed in their lockers between May and July by the NBA, the doofuses in the NFL’s league office figured the best way to get fans talking about their product in the offseason was to announce their upcoming slate for 2022 by trickling out details of select matchups as if…

twitter/Phil_Lewis_/status/1737579307780669440> So with Paramount being CBS and WB merging with them, does that put a New!CW (not the network, but the dual alliance) in the EntertainmentUniverse again? They might/might not merge their respective streamers (ParaMax, anyone) And wouldn't that make Jared in a good positon? I mean, he's currently with CBSTVStudios for Walker and still bringing in money to WB via SPN and Gilmore Girls. I see people worried, but I think it could be good for him.
That was my first thought too, it's a new CW but on the grand scale! Zaslav is after the sports contracts that CBS has, NBA is worth about $75 billions, currently split between WB and Disney. If the merger goes through, it will make them owner of over 30 channels, thus making them slightly bigger than Disney.
So what do you think Max will get rebranded to? ParaMax? MaxMount?
Eh, Jared should be fine. He was fine after WB channel dissolved and became CW. He was fine after the old CW President actively tried to kill Supernatural and turn CW into a female-oriented channel. He's in pretty good standings with Daniel Lin who was offered to take over the DCEU before second-choice James Gunn took the job. He has a good reputation for cultivating a good work environment for his cast and crew and to producers, that's almost just as important as attracting eyeballs to the screen.

JJ and Kealia Watt ‘Hope It Works Out’ for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce: ‘Happy for Them’ (Exclusive)
"I think it just shows how amazing she is," Kealia, 31, says of Swift's impact on the NFL after the singer cheered for Travis Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. According to FOX Sports, the game was the week’s highest-rated telecast on any network, with 24.3 million viewers.
"She's an icon, She's the most famous person in the world, probably. So I think it just shows what a badass she is," Kealia tells PEOPLE.
JJ, currently an NFL analyst for CBS Sports, says the fan frenzy over Swift's rumored romance with the Chiefs star is "two mega worlds colliding."
The former Arizona Cardinal says, "I think the ratings are going to go even higher every single week for the Chiefs games, which is hard because they were already one of the best teams in the league."
JJ adds, "It's exciting. I'm happy for them and hope it all works out."

NAD - Deaf Performers at Super Bowl LVIII
Sharing this....
The 3 Deaf Performers at the NFL Superbowl, yesterday, deserved equal airtime on public CBS sports tv. Not on a website, not on any cable channel. That is a form of audism, inequality and segregation. 🥺💔
NAD needs to create some kind of support team from other businesses and Universities to help advocate and educate the NFL network, JayZ and CBS sports tv.
Hopefully all businesses who created awesome tv commercials over the years, with sign language in them, can find ways to support this business, NAD to help include many Deaf communities and hard of hearing people.
There's got to be a way to compromise to resolve this issue.
No one should be excluded from anything. It's 2024.
This world needs more love, less hate.
🍀🤟🙂💜👍🕊️

Super Bowl LVIII was the most-watched television show in history, as an estimated 123.4 million people watched the Kansas City Chiefs rally in overtime to defeat the San Francisco 49ers.
CBS Sports said that figure included viewers across all platforms and was up 7% from last year’s 115.1 million average viewers, which was also the previous record.

This year’s game was the most-streamed Super Bowl in history with a record audience on Paramount+, the network said. It added that the network saw its best postseason viewership since 1998.
Sunday’s big game had a lot for audiences for tune in for — two of the best teams in the National Football League, a halftime show from Usher, wacky commercials and, of course, a very public love story.

CBS will be using the Super Bowl on Sunday to promote its entire lineup of returning series which will roll out during the premiere week that will follow the sporting event. Two of them, comedy Ghosts and drama Fire Country, are getting special promos created specifically for the Big Game.
The Ghosts spot features Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), Sam (Rose McIver) and their house ghosts during a running commentary while sitting on the couch watching the Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg movie Ghost.
The Fire Country promo, designed to run during half-time features co-creator, executive producer and star Max Thieriot delivering a speech akin to an inspiring coach half-time pep talk from a movie or TV series.
“Both are really high performing shows, and we think there is still a lot of opportunity to grow the audience for both,” Mike Benson, CBS’ President and Chief Marketing Officer, said about the choice of Ghosts and Fire Country for custom Super Bowl spots.
Ghosts and Fire Country both ranked as the most watched new series of the seasons they premiered in, 2021-22 and 2022-23, respectively, and have remained strong ratings performers for the network.
On Ghosts, “we have been leaning into the bigger idea about believing in ghosts in the supernatural sense but also in Ghosts the show, going for a double entendre and connecting the two things,” Benson said.
The Ghosts-Ghost mash-up came out of the idea to make the spot feel like a scene from the show. On the series, Jay & Sam and especially the ghosts, regularly watch TV and comment on it.
That’s what the gang is doing here as they banter about what would happen if Jay were a ghost, with the conversation referencing the Super Bowl, electoral college and a penny joke comedian Goldberg could’ve said in the movie while Asher recreates the moving penny trick performed by Swayze’s character in the film.
CBS’ marketing department developed the skit with Ghosts executive producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman who wrote the dialogue to get the voices of the characters right.
A 30-second version of the spot will air during the Super Bowl. You can watch below the full 1:07-minute version, which will be available online. The WeBelieveInGhosts.com site the ad sends viewers to was created for the occasion with the idea “to create a community of believers in a fun, comedic way.”
youtube
CBS marketing execs also worked with the Fire Country creative team on their spot whose premise came about after Benson and his group saw that there was a lengthy promo spot available during half-time.
Taking inspiration from great sports movies or TV series, Benson said his team asked, “what if we take the sense of pep talk and bring it to Fire Country.”
“We try to think, as people are watching the game, where they are in the game to be contextual with the specific place for the promos to stand out more effectively.”
