Author's Notes:

The ETAC (short for Essempi Tech & Arts College) au is a high school Traffic Life/Hermitcraft/Empires/other MCYTs series set in London, mainly based on Miraculous Ladybug.

This series on ao3 follows Grian as Garnet Beetle, the holder of the Ladybug Miraculous, Scar as Nightclaw, the holder of the Black Cat Miraculous, and assorted MCYTers as heroes. This blog is named "The Beetle Details Channel" after the in-universe equivalent of the LadyBlog from the Miraculous Ladybug show, ran by ETAC!Pearl.

Disclaimer- I, @thepandafangirl/ @ccssketchbooknstuff , the author of this fanfic series, am obviously not PearlescentMoon herself. (This blog is an AU explanation ask RP blog through ETAC!Pearl's POV.)

This blog:

Will have depictions of violence and injury. I mean, stuff you'd see in a miraculous ladybug episode (be warned, that does include temporary mind control & the like).

Will occasionally contain #hermitshipping, #trafficshipping, #empiresshipping & #mcytshipping content. It is a miraculous ladybug au after all.

As it is an RP blog, asks will be answered by both ETAC!Pearl and myself, the author. This will depend on whether the ask is on in-universe or meta (like workings of a fic) stuff.

[He hits his desk, then starts counting off people on his fingers] Fit is gone, Richarlyson is gone, Ramon is gone, Bagi and Empanada who were always there when we were there are also gone, I haven't seen them! It's just me and Tubbo, and sometimes Philza shows up.

Pac: I lost Chume Labs, I lost the Favela, I lost Murder Mystery, I lost Ilha Chume Labs, it's crazy! Look at how much I've lost, and I've gained nothing! Of course I'm going to be depressed, are you crazy?! How am I supposed to be happy?!

Controversial opinion, but Caiti hasn’t admitted enough responsibility for her actions in this. I’ve seen more blame levied at her friends for ‘allowing’ her to drink or ‘not protecting’ her, but her friends are not responsible for her behaviour. She is responsible for illegally underage drinking, for lying about her age with a 21 badge, for making the final decision to go to the party, to the hotel room, for choosing to stay when her friends left, for lying back down next to George multiple times, and for—yes, I’m going to say it—not giving George literally any indication of her unwillingness (if, indeed, she was ever actually unwilling in the moment). She actually had a lot of power in this situation and many, many opportunities for a decision that would not have put her in this situation.

This brings up an important difference between victim blaming and victim accountability:

Victim blaming is saying—she didn’t take precautions, and therefore she deserved to be hurt. <- (Obviously false and a very damaging mindset.)

Victim accountability is saying—she chose to not take precautions, and those decisions increased the danger of the situation and let it happen more than it would otherwise. I am sorry this meant she got hurt, and I don’t judge her for the stupid decisions. But we must acknowledge she did make those choices and she had the power not to.

Victim accountability thus actually gives her back her own power. It acknowledges that there were many things in the situation that were within her control, and it empowers her to know the many things she can do next time to more greatly control her situation. Conversely, I actually think her blaming this entire situation on George (or Dream, or her friends), is a disservice to herself, because then she sees him as all-powerful, and herself as totally powerless, which is not the case.

And reminder, we’re talking about a hand on a waist.

anyone else thinking about how us crows canonically reacted to that diorama in the aquarium? like. imagine being q!phil, desparately trying to convince himself that none of this is happening and his dreams are just dreams... while all of the crows surrounding you are going NUTS

vocalising, ruffling their feathers, flapping their wings - immediately and viscerally reacting to all of the trappings of endlantis and the king.

im just. can you even imagine trying to process that. imagine ur kid wakes up and can't see any of the shit that's driving you + ur entire murder to hysterics, even when they're all Clearly reacting to... something in the aquarium. imagine phil trying to say he's fine and that he just needs air while the crows are fucking RIOTING.

we knew + were shouting abt the king and endlantis LONG before q!phil was able to acknowledge it. and the dissonance of that is just,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, OGH!
