I think it’s safe to say Harry DID NOT enjoy himself because he KNOWS BETTER. He knows this was pure Royal cosplay. You could just feel it and how awkward AF they were. And for her… she kept putting on sunglasses because she couldn’t hide that she was disappointed mostly because reiterated by a lot of NYers… No. one. Cared. Not even the news or social media picked up on it. I had to find it outside of tumblr. All this was were 2 thirsty celebs trying to do a publicity stunt. Now had they been invited to the MET Gala and Obama’s birthday party, I would be worried but they weren’t and whatever they had to pay for this via sunshine, they are broke. Here’s a little tip about ppl with lots of money… there’s a lot of IOU’s among them. Even when they are in the negative. The promise of ROI… this is how they are doing what they are doing. Just wait…. It’s going to get worse for the Harkles.
I think they are going to continue to pull stunts like this and it will sink them.
They had to be massively disappointed that they aren't loved and adored like they believe they are.

Can we talk about their “commitment” to give that Harlem restaurant $25k?! What does that even mean? Is this dependent on whatever profits Harry makes from his memoir too?!?!
I have never known any celeb worth their salt to give out IOUs.
25K should been nothing for someone of the stature they claim to be.
25K is a dinner tab for A listers.
Remember when Chrissy Teigen got roasted for joking about casually ordering a $25K bottle of wine.

I just can't believe that there are people who still believe every single word a public figure/celebrity says, most of the time they LIE. Did C lie about some fans harassing his bf? I have no clue, but if someone was indeed harassing him, that is just not correct. There are crazy fans in every fandom. If people still believe every post or tweet is posted personally by the celebrity, they are just naive and gullible. I don't believe in CC, but that's just my opinion. I do believe D is closeted and just because he posts something or says something nice about someone doesn't mean he actually thinks that, it is most likely PR, just like the unnecessary refurbishment of RR's house. People should wake up and not believe everything they see on the internet. Side note: I couldn't even get mad at yesterday's show because everything is just so ridiculous and bad-acted that it's funny.
At this point, if you aren't side-eyeing basically everything that comes out of Hollywood, you are just willfully ignorant. Its all calculated to a specific end and they don't think twice about contradicting their past selves if it serves a current narrative. Case in point: C saying towards the end of glee that he had no idea who D was when he joined the show when there's a whole interview of him talking about seeing D in AVPM way back when. Like season 2 back when. That's just a blatantly obvious, easily disproved and stupid lie. With regards to this podcast mess - I haven't listened to it and I wasn't on tumblr for most of glee's run so I wasn't really privy to a lot of the goings on that happened bts. Can I believe that there were people who crossed the line of fandom and behaved like assholes? Yes, definitely because it still happens. That kind of behavior is not exclusive to the glee fandom. You will find people like that everywhere. Whether or not they did exactly what he said they did - only he knows that for sure. Its a weird thing to bring up now 6 years after the show has ended as it effectively (and unfairly) paints a bullseye on a specific group. I'm not sure what he was hoping to achieve with this. The CC people that I've interacted with here are lovely and would never in a million years even think of things that horrible. Keep your thoughts and opinions to your own little blog and you don't tag the person in your post - its as simple as that. Who are these nobodies who have that much power that they think they can get a complete stranger fired? If they did indeed behave this way, then that is appalling, completely batshit crazy, and unacceptable - they need professional help. Its not funny, its scary. There's no need for that ever. At the end of the day, its his life and what he does with it and who he spends it with is his business. There's a pretty simple solution if you don't like the person anymore or don't like what they are doing: you can simply stop following them. You don't need to engage in some sort of bizarre smear campaign that has real world implications. Remember all those toxic twitter teens who were ready to draw and quarter D a few months back over that nearly 10 year old pic of him or a comment just as old? The awful things they said about him, the nonstop tagging of him and the flooding of every one of his SM posts with their bullshit? The "you're dead to me if you choose to remain a fan of his" ultimatums? I do! That's the kind of stuff that drives celebs away from SM and ruins it for the rest of us that know how to behave. You're creating an issue where there wasn't one and that's sort of what C did here with his comments.
From my point of view, the issue with C and D's SOs isn't so much that they are with other people, but more to the kind of people they seem to be. I don't know much frankly about W. He's not shoved in my face 24 hours a day and a hovering annoying presence at everything C does. You'll find more pics of C solo or with AF than you will with W. That's why he bothers me less and why D takes more criticism on this. But from what I've heard about him, he's said and posted some pretty awful things in the past and if people choose to not like him because of that, that seems valid to me. As fans, we can only judge celebs by what they say and do and our perception of them - its all we have. My dislike of M is not because she's with D and I'm a super jealous old spinster. And its not because I'm a self hating misogynist. Its because of the way she clings to D and his career while doing nothing on her own, the way she uses him for her own selfish purposes, and the hypocritical way she claimed to not to want to be in the public eye but yet shadows D at every event he goes to because it means cameras and photos and recognition as his wife. That tacky awful commercialized wedding was the last straw for me because I haven't been able to hold my tongue since. And if you follow someone long enough, you can get a pretty good idea of when they're being genuine and when they're bullshitting you or in D's case, when its him posting something and when its a member of his team. For example: where he supposedly proposed. By lying about it - either then or now - you've created a mess that didn't previously exist. Its a fairly simple straightforward statement that most people get right the first time: where they asked their SO to marry them. D says Japan, RR says D called him saying he wanted to do it when he was outside a bathroom in Miami. So the answer is either a) D b) RR c) none of the above. I'm going to go with c, thanks. Unless RR is going to come back and say that D decided to ask her in Miami but then waited until they were physically in Japan to do the asking, I'm going to go with neither of you are right and the reason D blew off the question every time he was asked about it by saying he didn't want to bore us is that you hadn't come up with a good enough and believable story yet. Much like the engagement ring that hadn't been locked down until RR could find a designer willing to make a ring with a diamond big enough to soothe her ego and give off the pretense of being legit. He probably put more effort into that than anything in D's career in the last 5 years. Do I think that RR did help D at one point when he was starting out with gigs, jobs, things like that? Sure. No problem. And maybe they were friends and liked to hang out and jam together. But do I also think that D has outgrown him personally and professionally at this point? Hell fucking yes. He needs a grown up to take his career to the next level and RR is not that person. He completely failed to capitalize on all the awards and well deserved hype D got from ACS and for that alone, he should have been fired. He needs someone who wants to do the work because they understand the rare find they have in D and that their job is to promote him, not themselves. The IOU ep was nothing but a self serving hour of D trying to make RR look and sound like he's not a complete waste of space on top of getting a cut of his fee as his manager. If you look at D's page on the very sad H/yphenate website, you will see the 3 biggest roles D's had are not listed. No Blaine. No Hedwig. No ACS. But oddly enough, a mention of his record deal with Columbia, which I thought went kaput ages ago and his hosting of the Teen Choice Awards in 2013. You know - the big times. Why? I'm going to assume its because he got those roles without RR's help so he doesn't want them there and what does that tell you? It should tell you everything. This is why your manager should be your manager and your friends should be your friends. Its like a parent who wants to be their
child's friend instead of the authority figure they need.
Too much of D's SM has the look and feel of pr and useless ads and just flat out nonsense and that falls squarely under RR's domain. He's a 34 year old man with an established career, not a 21 year old newbie just starting out but his SM doesn't reflect that in any way, shape, or form. The sooner D can cut his losses and break free, the better off his career will be, the more adult he will sound, and the happier I will be.

On one hand I don't think it's a good idea to go to Ellen, but at the same time she was one of a feel that was defending them from the jump and I don't see people judging other celebrites that went to her show after everything... So i'll give her some grace this time and hope that they and their team make better choices from now on!
yeah I’m seeing that reason being floated around as why meghan is going but it may just be a simple “she likes ellen and ellen is a friend” rather than an iou.
and yeah while other celebs have gone onto ellen as, @heir-less said, it doesn’t mean criticism of meghan going on ellen cannot be said or that it doesn’t exist.

"Oh please, boo fucking hoo. He has no problem using his celeb brother to get clients for his music lessons. Cry me a fucking river." Wait, I thought they liked Chuck? They complained about Celeb IOU because D made over his manager's place not his brother's, accusing D of not being supportive enough. Now they're foaming because Chuck tweeted that it's a kinda weird knowing many of your followers are only there cause your bro's famous? I mean, he's not wrong. It's the only reason THEY follow him.
Haha they love using Chuck to demonize Darren (or more like Mia cause every one of those things is her fault) but they hate Chuck. Deeply, they decided it was his fault Darren used Mia as a beard and he was accepting her to get clout from her ... it makes no sense but Abby was adamant that Chuck was a Mia enabler and was really using his bro for clout lmao. They only cry over him when they can use that crying for the "Mia is worst person on this Earth and deserve every hateful things we said about her".

WATCH: Darren Criss Bursts Into Song While Renovating His Manager's Home on Celebrity IOU “Ricky has devoted an unfathomable amount of time—more time than I believe I deserve—away from his wife and his kid to make my dreams come true," Darren Criss says of his best friend and manager
Darren Criss can turn anything into a musical moment!
In PEOPLE's exclusive first look at Monday's episode of Celebrity IOU, the actor and singer burst into song while helping host Jonathan Scott decide on the perfect designs to transform his best friend and manager Ricky's backyard.
After watching Jonathan lay out some tile options, Criss remarks, "that makes it all pop," before jokingly adding, "What do I know? I'm an actor."
"Act like you know," the HGTV star, 43, who appears on the show with twin Drew, insists. "Convince me that you're a world-class designer and you know what direction we should go."
"John, this stone, you gotta use it," Criss, 34, forcefully remarks, getting into character, before playfully adding, "See? That is what the pros do."
Clearly impressed, Jonathan replies, "You moved me."
Tumblr media
Then, imagining that they were in a musical, Criss launches into an impromptu song. "You gotta use this stone, yeah / You gotta use that fixture / You gotta get yourself a counter with some white finishes / And if you're lucky have some brass," he sings.
"Is this anything this man can't do?" Jonathan adds in a confessional.
Tumblr media
In the episode, Criss teams up with the Property Brothers stars to transform Ricky's home as a way to thank him for the years of support.  In addition to turning his garage into a much-needed home office, the team will also give his backyard a major upgrade.
"I think the dream for anybody in any profession is to be able to work with your friends," Criss says in a press release. "Ricky has devoted an unfathomable amount of time—more time than I believe I deserve—away from his wife and his kid to make my dreams come true. This is a small token of all my appreciation for everything he's done."
Tumblr media
"Ricky is easily one of the best things that has ever happened to me in my entire life," adds the star. "He has invested so much of himself into making my dreams come true."
Now in its second season, Celebrity IOU gives stars a chance to show their gratitude for someone who helped shape their life or career by giving their living space a complete redesign, courtesy of the Scott twins.
"It's amazing to see someone who is extremely successful be grounded enough to always remember the people who helped them get there," Jonathan, 41, previously told PEOPLE.
A number of A-list stars participated in Season 1, including Brad Pitt, Viola Davis and Melissa McCarthy. Season two has featured Kris and Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian; Kevin Hart; Gwyneth Paltrow; Justin Hartley; and Allison Janney in addition to Jonathan's girlfriend Zooey Deschanel.
Celebrity IOU airs on HGTV Mondays at 9PM ET/PT, and is available to stream the same day on Discovery+.

round up // JUNE 21
Tumblr media
In June, I met King Kong, discovered new fashion icons, and flashed back to teenage angst. Enough to pique your interest? Let’s hope so, ‘cuz we’re jumping right in...
June Crowd-Pleasers
Tumblr media
1. HGTV Binge: Celebrity IOU (2020-) + House Hunters: Comedians on Couches (2020-)
I checked out at least five new HGTV shows this month, but apparently famous people are what really do it for me. On Celebrity IOU, the Property Brothers help celebs with even more charisma than them (like Brad Pitt, Melissa McCarthy, and Property Sister Zooey Deschanel) to transform the home of someone they love. On Comedians on Couches, funny people like John Mulaney make jokes about the over-the-top personalities and demands we watch on House Hunters. HGTV is my comfort food TV because every problem resolves in 60 minutes or less, and these shows add new twists to the tried-and-true home makeover formula.
Tumblr media
2. Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion (1997)
For months I’ve been trying to describe the bright, bombastic clothing I’ve been looking for as we come out of a pajama-clad pandemic—now I know to call it Romy and Michele! Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino star as BFFs with lewks and dance moves you won’t find anywhere else. While their one-of-a-kind outlook is why we love them, they second guess their worth as they prep for their 10-year high school reunion. Kudrow and Sorvino are hilarious, and Romy and Michele are my new fashion icons. Crowd: 8.5/10 // Critic: 6.5/10
Tumblr media
3. A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins (2020)
If we didn’t need a Hunger Games prequel—and we definitely didn’t—why couldn’t I put this 500-plus-page novel down? A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is set during the 10th Hunger Games and follows Katniss Everdeen’s nemesis, President Snow, as a teenager. He hasn’t become the arch villain Donald Sutherland plays to delicious effect in the movies, but Collins develops a character we can connect while still showing whom he will become. She also knows how to keep you hooked—her end-of-chapter cliffhangers are legendary in my mind—and her innovative plotting explores the overlap between marketing and politics, the difference between vengeance and justice, and how we dehumanize others to help ourselves. If you loved the original trilogy and movies as much as I did, be sure to read her latest—as far as I’m concerned, Collins can write a novel about every Hunger Games she wants.
Tumblr media
4. Mr. Deeds (2002)
If you prefer your Adam Sandler in the sweeter variety, Mr. Deeds is your guy. He flips from pizza parlor owner to billionaire overnight, but he has no interest in the the rich-and-famous lifestyle. Winona Ryder is the tabloid journalist trying to get the scoop on him, Peter Gallagher is the corporate suit trying to profit from him, and John Turturro is the eccentric butler waiting on him. Not a plot twist: This hilarious cast makes the most of the simple premise. Crowd: 9/10 // Critic: 7/10
Tumblr media
5. SOUR by Olivia Rodrigo (2021)
You couldn’t pay me any amount of money to be a teenager again, and Olivia Rodrigo has the wisdom and angst to capture why. Much has been gossip-ed about the inspiration for the breakup songs that make the bulk of her first record, and while they’re killer tracks reminiscent of early Taylor Swift, I also recommend her non-romance tracks like “jealousy, jealousy” and “brutal,” which feels like a spiritual successor to John Mayer’s “No Such Thing.”
Tumblr media
6. Oxford Blues (1984)
Speaking of teenage angst, Kyla and I watched a forgotten Brat Pack feature as our latest pop culture reference on Gilmore Girls. Rob Lowe is chasing his dream girl, and her name is Lady Victoria Wingate (Amanda Pays). He moves from Vegas to Oxford, joins the rowing team, and hangs with Ally Sheedy—I’ll bet you can already guess where this is going. We say it’s a hidden gem even if the plot doesn’t really make sense. You can listen to our full episode to see if you want to check it out for yourself. Crowd: 7/10 // Critic: 4.5/10
Tumblr media
7. The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard (2021)
It’s been a minute since I’ve watched a movie this dumb starring this many overqualified people. Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, and Salma Hayek re-team for a sequel to the 2017 action comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard, and now they’ve roped in Antonio Banderas and Morgan Freeman. I admit it’s also been a minute since I’ve watched a movie so profane—as they say in A Christmas Story, Jackson and Hayek work in profanities the way other artists might work in oils or clay. But this bad movie knows it’s a bad movie, which I’d argue makes it a good movie in its own bad way. Banderas is hamming it up, Freeman gets to play against type, and that Reynolds sarcasm is firing on all cylinders. I’m a little embarrassed to say I had a good time in this movie, but maybe like this movie, I should just embrace who I am. Crowd: 8/10 // Critic: 6/10
Tumblr media
8. Movie of the Night
Ever feel like it takes longer to pick a movie than to watch it? Then it’s time to try Movie of the Night. Option 1: Filter down by genre, era, language, runtime, and which streaming platforms you subscribe to. Option 2: Search by actor or keyword. Either way, you’ll discover plenty of titles you didn’t even know you had access to that are probably right up your alley.
Tumblr media
9. F9: The Fast Saga (2021)
This movie has everything: John Cena! Helen Mirren! Charlize with another bad haircut! A guy who comes back from the dead! A long-lost brother! Flashbacks! Electromagnets! Rocket cars! Armored cars! Cars on fire! Cars in space! Cars on ropes! Cardi B? Crowd: 9/10 // Critic: 6.5/10
June Critic Picks
Tumblr media
1. Double Feature – Best Picture Winners From Actor-Directors About Broken Men Turned Macho Men: Unforgiven (1992) + Braveheart (1995)
Yep, these two Best Picture winners from the ’90 have a lot in common. Along with All About Eve (keep reading for more on that film), I knocked out three more films in my Best Picture Project this month. And since this pair was so thematically in sync, I wrote joint Crowd and Critic reviews for them.
Tumblr media
2. New York!
I finally made it to New York City! I had planned a trip last March—obviously, that didn’t happen—and while the city hasn’t opened fully, I did make it to plenty of tourist-y spots and museums on my bucket list like the Metropolitan Museum of Art (those Impressionists!), Central Park (where I relived moments from Elf, Enchanted, and Ransom), the 9/11 Memorial, the Statue of Liberty, the Ellis Island Museum of Immigration, and the Empire State Building (where I met King Kong!). Yes, this is also an unoriginal recommendation, but I’m throwing in my two bits that New York City is worth the trip.
Tumblr media
3. Kiss of Death (1947)
Film Admissions have returned at ZekeFilm, and this month we focused on classic film noir. I checked out the crime thriller Kiss of Death, which is part family drama and part crime thriller. You can check out more about the film noir flicks our writers watched for the first time at ZekeFilm. Crowd 8/10 // Critic: 8.5/10
Tumblr media
4. In the Heights (2021)
My review of the new adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s other Broadway hit for ZekeFilm is part analysis of the state of the movie musicals and part shameless praise for this very good one. It’s the kind of film I hate to write about because it’s so darn good I know I’m not doing it justice, but you can read my review anyway. Crowd: 9/10 // Critic: 10/10
Tumblr media
5. The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)
Robert Wise’s entry in the 1950s sci-fi canon is one of the best I’ve watched so far. We wouldn’t have modern greats like Arrival without it, and it even reminds me a bit of Jurassic Park with its focus on how different people react to ethical anomalies. If you have a penchant for sci-fi more about weird stuff happening than aliens and mythology, this is for you. Crowd: 8/10 // Critic: 8.5/10
youtube
6. New Trailer Round Up
Cinema, baby! Trailers are dropping left and right, including ones for some potential awards season contenders.
Jungle Cruise (July 30) – Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson on a Disney theme park ride!
Respect (Aug. 13) – Aretha Franklin biopic starring Jennifer Hudson!
The Protégé (Aug. 20) – Samuel L. Jackson as another hitman!
Reminiscence (Aug. 20) – Rebecca Ferguson and Hugh Jackman re-team for something that looks really confusing!
The Eyes of Tammy Faye (Sept. 17) – Jessica Chastain and Andrew Garfield in a true crime-y biopic!
Dear Evan Hansen (Sept. 24) – The Broadway hit with an all-star cast!
Last Night in Soho (Oct. 22) – Will I try a horror movie for the sake of Edgar Wright?
tick, tick…BOOM! (TBD) – Lin-Manuel Miranda directs Andrew Garfield!
The Harder They Fall (TBD) – Revisionist Western with Regina King, Jonathan Majors, LaKeith Stanfield, and more!
Tumblr media
7. Solaris (1972)
Let’s get back to sci-fi where weird stuff happens. Let’s just say there’s some weird stuff going on at the Solaris space station in this Russian classic, and it makes our characters (and us) think about the nature of humanity and how science can’t explain everything. File this with 2001: A Space Odyssey under I Didn’t Totally Understand It But I Think I Liked It?
Also in June…
Kyla and I also covered All About Eve on SO IT’S A SHOW, and I covered it as part of my Best Picture Project with Crowd and Critic reviews. Spoiler alert: We’re both big fans. (I had watched it before this month, which is the only reason it’s not in this Round Up!)
While the pandemic isn’t behind us yet, I’m back at the office several days of the week, which means I’ve completed tracking every movie watched while sheltering in place on Letterboxd. My pandemic viewing capped at 966 unique titles—sigh, just shy of 1000—and I’d like to wrap up this Round Up by commemorating some of the best, weirdest, and most specific ways I tied my watching together thematically in these 14 months:
MAR 26, 2020: Family-focused rom-coms in which the female romantic interest switches her affection between brothers (Dan in Real Life, While You Were Sleeping)
APR 2: Movies with a twist ending, Daniel Craig speaking in a Southern accent, and a song about a Virginia (Knives Out, Logan Lucky)
MAY 6: A promising high school dancer loses a parent and considers giving up her dream, but her love interest from a different socioeconomic background shows up just before the final dance routine so she can achieve it (Step Up, Save the Last Dance)
JUNE 1: An unassuming businessman from NYC has to travel many places to clear his name (North by Northwest, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty)

New Post has been published on https://freenews.today/2020/12/24/analysis-how-celebs-like-d-nice-and-taylor-swift-lifted-our-spirits-this-year/
Analysis: How celebs like D-Nice and Taylor Swift lifted our spirits this year
Tumblr media
This year has been beyond tough, but pop culture came through with a few gifts to lift our weary spirits.
John Krasinski: In the early weeks of the pandemic, Krasinski gave us “Some Good News.”
His homemade “newscast” offered reasons to smile including a mini reunion of “The Office” and a virtual potluck.
It was such a good idea that Krasinski ended up selling the YouTube series to ViacomCBS.
DJ D-Nice: It only makes sense that this hip-hop legend — who got his start with a group called Boogie Down Productions — helped us find our groove.
His Club Quarantine on Instagram Live became THE place to be to dance to the best tunes and also stargaze at all the celebrity names popping into the comments section.
D-Nice has been around since the 1980s, and it’s been great to see a new generation discover him.
Beyoncé: Queen Bey is always a blessing.
She saved her biggest statement for her visual album “Black Is King,” which was praised for its celebration of Blackness.
Brad Pitt: He charmed us with his awards show acceptance speeches, won his first Oscar and gave us something to talk about when he reunited backstage with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
Then he made his debut on the HGTV series “Celebrity IOU” before going on to play Dr. Anthony Fauci on “SNL.”
Pitt just made us darn happy this year.
Dolly Parton: Speaking of happiness, Dolly Parton is pure joy.
Who else but Parton could pull off contributing to the development of a groundbreaking Covid-19 vaccine and dropping a new holiday album and a charming Christmas special all in the same year? Oh, she also saved her young costar from getting hit by a car.
We will always love you, Dolly!
For your weekend
Three things to watch:
Tumblr media
‘Wonder Woman 1984’
Remember when we used to have lots of superhero blockbusters?
This sequel to the hit 2017 film reunites star Gal Gadot with director Patty Jenkins — and we can’t wait.
In this next chapter, Wonder Woman’s alter ego, Diana Prince, works as a curator at the Smithsonian, in Washington, DC. A mysterious gem kicks off the action.
“Wonder Woman 1984” starts streaming Christmas Day on HBO Max. (CNN and HBO Max are both part of WarnerMedia.)
Tumblr media
‘Sylvie’s Love’
Romance and music combine into a sweeping story that captures changing times, a changing culture and the true price of love.
Set in the summer of 1957, an aspiring television producer named Sylvie and a saxophonist named Robert meet and fall for one another. Time and circumstances pull them apart, but years later, they meet again by chance, only to find that while their lives have changed, their feelings for each other remain the same.
The melodrama is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
‘Soul’
Tumblr media
This Pixar animated film asks the question “What is it that makes you … YOU?”
“Soul” introduces Joe Gardner (voiced by Jamie Foxx), a middle-school band teacher who gets the chance of a lifetime to play at the best jazz club in town. But one small misstep takes him from the streets of New York City to The Great Before — a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks and interests before they go to Earth.
The film starts streaming on Disney+ on Christmas Day.
Two things to listen to:
Tumblr media
“Pretty Big Deal with Ashley Graham” features the model and author in lively conversations with celebs, influencers and experts about beauty and culture.
It’s kind of a … wait for it … big deal.
Tumblr media
Send the kids from the room with this one.
Demi Moore stars in the erotic podcast series “Dirty Diana,” about a woman with a dying marriage who “secretly runs an erotic website where women reveal their intimate sexual fantasies.
Whew! Talk about heating up your winter!
One thing to talk about:
Tumblr media
Mariah Carey has cemented her position as the Queen of Christmas.
This month her perennial holiday hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” returned to the top of the Billboard charts 26 years after its release.
She kicked off the holiday season giving us permission to start celebrating post-Halloween and made our days merry and bright with “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special” on Apple+.
No one does it bigger and better than her.
Something to sip on
Tumblr media
This time around, what I have to offer to sip on is some eggnog, naturally.
Merry Christmas, y’all!
Pop back here next Thursday for all the latest entertainment happenings that matter.

Have you noticed how every time Darren does something upsetting, he relies on the Warblers or Glee to get people's attention again? It may not be him on social media since he says he doesn't know how to use it but it seems to be a trend to me. I really do not know where they're trying to lead his career. He's become so unrecognizable. It's like that Britney episode in season 4 of Glee. Are they trying to ruin him to build him up again, like a comeback? I wish I knew but it's been years and it's time for him to regain control of his life.
This ep was such a rambly incoherent mess that the part I ended up enjoying the most was him realizing that it had in fact been 10 years since the glee live tour. What an insane time that was. Glee at its apex in terms of popularity - the fact that this show had enough pull at that time to sell out a venue like the O2? Crazy. Everything was Klaine and nothing hurt. It was glorious and it looked like we had nowhere to go but up. Little did we all know that RIB was waiting in the wings with a folding chair, preparing to kneecap us all. But that's a rant for another post. I don't know if they had planned to talk about concerts this week or D was just working on a stream of consciousness and that's where they ended up but I was pleasantly surprised that he brought the tour up.  And then posted a pic later?  Even more surprised.  His press is so hard to figure out because on the one hand - it tries like hell to suppress any and all references to Blaine and Klaine - and then on the other, we get things like his livestream last November celebrating the 10 year anniversary of his first appearance on the show and a tb Warbler pic yesterday.  The ease with which he still talks about his time on glee makes me think that he would be happy to be reminded of it, but his pr team would rather lock it up and throw away the key if they could get away with it.  Its to the point where I don’t trust that 90% of what’s posted on his SM is from him.  The nonsense captions, grammar and spelling mistakes, the overuse of emojis, and the trying so hard to be cool and young you end up sounding older than you are - its all so embarrassing and such an insult to D’s intelligence.  Which is on clear display if you listen to him speak for 5 minutes.
There’s always an agenda with SM as well and that’s not something that is particular to D.  That goes for any celeb out there with an online presence. It may not have started out that way, but that’s what its become - to foster or grow a certain narrative. And the fact that most celeb accounts are not actually run by the celeb themselves is again not particular to D.  It just feels more glaring in his case because his team is so fucking bad at it.  Like really bad.  And it feels like they use his accounts to further their agenda for him and not D’s actual career.  He’ll do or say something that feels authentically D and then we must get some pic or something that counteracts it with the straight dude bro frat boy narrative.  Or we get his immature selfish bride pasting absolute garbage onto his professional account because she’s an attention whore of the highest order and does not care how she makes him look.  None of them do. Its then left to him to pick up the pieces while they go cash their check because he’s an ATM to them and nothing more.  I don’t know any other celeb who’s manager gets as much face time as their client does.  This whole Celeb IOU thing is the perfect example of it.  There really should be a rule that if you’re the person who books the client on the show, you don’t get to be the one who benefits from the reno.  Because now it looks like you only signed him on so you can get your house fixed.  Which is so gross.  So he sits back and gets to listen to D tell the whole world how great a person he is, how much he means to him, what a great job he does as his manager (god that just feels slimy typing it), and how happy he is to be able to do this for him while literally counting the money he’s making off of his appearance here.  What the actual fuck?  Thank you for taking something that could have been fun and delightful and making it repellent.  Chuck has a house, doesn’t he?  He could have selected him and I’d watch the shit out of that.
I have no idea where they are trying to lead his career.  I don’t think they know because that would take actual work and knowledge and effort.  Its much easier to book ads and promos and stupid little things that lead nowhere that are cash grabs.  D is 34 years old but his team would prefer to keep him 20 if you judge him by his SM.  The dumb comments on tiktoks.  The incoherent illegible responses to tweets.  Gifs on instagram.  He goes out of his way over and over again to tell us that he’s rarely on SM, he’s terrible at it, he doesn’t know how to use it...so if that’s the case, then who’s posting as him?  Three guesses.  I’d love nothing more than to see him dump his work family all on their collective asses and watch as they struggle for relevance without their meal ticket while he goes on to bigger and better team once he has an actual honest to goodness professional team in place.  One that’s more interesting in lining his shelves with awards than their pockets with his money.
