As the Glorious Masquerade event is running for the 2nd time on the JP version and is about to come on the english one, I wanted to celebrate it with our favorite octopus 💜 Azul’s smug smile is the best. It's actually an illustration I did last December but I still can't get over his outfit. He looks so handsoooome (and those glasses !!) Imo, this event has the most beautiful SSR outfits. Astro Observations (Sag placements)

-Sag moons are some of the most interesting people I have met. Like as a Virgo moon I could tell you what someone has done to irritate me or whatever and I will say why and how. Unless it's about someone that I feel very private about already because then I will roughly dance around the things that that person makes me feel and all that jazz. But I don't think you can really egg on a sag moon to talk shit about someone like unless the person that you are talking about is included into the conversation somehow (I mean physically standing there ya know?). Most sag moons I think know exactly what someone does that irritates them but they kinda just go "people change all the time and I might not even really know this person fully or why they do what they do, so I can't really judge them without that information..." Which I do admire because there is an air of optimism and a chill vibe to it. I think as a sag mars I could not really emulate that same vibe that a sag moon does when talking about someone who has done them horribly. I love sag moons bro I just love them so much and I think it's the possible conjunction between my mars and their moon that can influence that sometimes but other times there is no conjunction but I just love sag moons.

I can go on and on about my admiration for sag moons but I feel like you could just watch some clips of celebrities with sag moon or even just meeting a person with a sag moon and man I could only explain so much of the vibes and energy that sag moons give off.

-Sag suns are a hit or miss for me. Most I have met are either super cool and give off the hippie vibe. ORRRR..... they are the most wild people I have met. As someone who has a lot of fire placements...one sag placement will make you wild in a different way than the other fire signs. For instance, having an Aries or Leo placement will not immediately give you a wild card trait but one sag placement will make you the wildest person imo. The best way I can explain it is that I have met people who have one Aries placement or even one Leo placement and they can be either chill or wild. But somehow every sag placement I have met are some of the most interesting and wildest people I have ever met. People will talk about how chill sag placements are and I disagree bruh. Idk what sag placement people you are meeting but every single one is so odd and interesting to me. Like it doesn't matter if you have a Capricorn moon if you have a sag mercury you will say some of the most unhinged shit I have ever heard (and I'll demand more). Again I'm saying this as a sag mars so I could be biased here but bruh no fire placement takes my interest so quickly for a person like sag does. I have met people with an Leo sun and an Aries moon and mars BUT their sag mercury friend will permeate my mind. anyways moving on lol

-Sag mercuries will say some random shit and I will lecture them about that shit...and yet I will never tell them to shut up. Sometimes they say shit just to say shit or even to just get a reaction out of you. I don't know why but it's a moment. I think they think they are slick about it too or they know how obvious it is and do it on purpose. Either way I'm pretty sure that I enjoy sag mercuries is the fact that most times it lands it my fifth house (the literal house of pleasure) so yeah.

-Sag risings are bad bitches...yeah that's it do you need something more tho??

Anyways I didn't say anything about sag Venus just because I don't know too much about them so yeah. Sag placements for me are fun to be around but that doesn't mean that I get along with them. In fact I'm pretty sure I have had the most arguments with sag placements but somehow they don't make me feel anger like other people without sag placements have. Sometimes they just cause me pain that I never really have fully understood. They just hit my weak spots in my soul. I can't really explain it too much right now ya know? It's kinda difficult to explain so yeah. Let me know what you guys think and tell me some of your experiences with a sag placement I would love to know.

The Umbrella Academy season 3 review post

I finally finished season 3 of tua even tho I've watched first two seasons first day they came out and oh boy do I have things to talk about-

To begin with, the things I like about new season:

- The way we finally dug into Allison's trauma and how she starts going psychotic is actually a good plot line especially the accent on how she just like any other Umbrella Academy people indulges in self-distructive behavior, she's really just like them

- Diego getting a kid as someone with the biggest daddy issues out there is a realistic plotline because having a kid (even if Stanley's not actually his) heals him in this regard tho he and Lila would get a kid anyway eventually but they really should've been more sad about Stanley thanosing out of the existence you know

- Five being the founder of The Temps Commission makes so much sense as he's the one with the power to travel time of course he's more powerful than it seemed

- Good music scenes. Music is what season 1 was incredible for and what I love about the show. In season 2 there weren't many scenes that caught my attention but in s3 it's definetely better. We got Klaus's death montage with "Crystallised" by The xx and celebration scene with "Another one bites the dust" by Queen + Luther on moon and "Friday I'm in Love" by The Cure these were really nice.

- The Oblivion Hotel is such a cool location and concept (a place for everyone) I like the change of place of action a lot, but the way it's a portal is kinda overused imo

- Lila and Five are still the best characters and carried the season

- Fei is such a cool chara with a distict character design (which most of Sparrow Academy lack tbh)

Now things I don't like:

- Ben being just a placeholder character is such a bummer because instead of getting angst and drama we got a mostly one-dimentional anti-hero who has a completely different personality from Ben. We got a tiny bit of his character when he admitted he just wants to be involved with everyone but it's really minimal.

I can't believe Klaus says "He's an asshole and he's dead to me" like WHAT DO YOU MEAN fuck no Klaus would not say that shit and he would not just give up on him. Yeah Luther says stuff like "I'm glad to see you even if you're different" or whatever but it's Klaus who've spent the most time with Ben.

The way literally any other actor could have played Sparrow Ben and nothing would change is lame af I hope in next season we will see more changes

- Same goes to my dear Grace who's just a placeholder for black hole worshipper like what do you mean we just got one phrase from Diego and that's it??? This whole bit with fake god and stuff really threw me off it didn't go anywhere

- The Sparrow Academy being one-dimentional characters in general like I get producers probably didn't have enough episodes to actually develop characters but holy shit are they boring.

Even if you want to make them just antagonists we had such cool villains in two previous seasons they were original and interesting (aka The powerless podcast-fan male manipulator Peabody and The Cunty Handler)

Also the way the fisrt Sparrows who died were the most annoying and cliche assholes makes them just filler charas

- How show tried to make us feel compassion to Reginald Hargreeves holy shit do I hate this guy- After Klaus realised his father was basically killing him over and over in his childhood instead of Klaus getting mad or upset and having a breakdown we got nothing.

He even came back to new timeline Reginald who's "nicer" for this asshole just to hurt him AGAIN

- Klaus mostly being a comic relief in this season is so fucked I love this character and in previous seasons we had a great look at his life and experiences but now he's just kinda there being high and that's it

"mm I guess he died a few times it's probably enough" - plot writers

no character development whatsoever is just upsetting.

And the amount of unnecessary traumatising aka Reginald training him was really not it, even if it's supposed to be a joke.

- Reginald being a two-faced ass like holy shit is this terrifying. Pogo was the one who gave Sparrows pills and now Klaus helped him to stop taking them and this asshole is taking advantage of naive and vulnerable Klaus.

It is in fact a good plot twist but bro I really did prefer Reginald being a cartoonish villian instead of actual pure evil like how does he have shitty motivation but still does just so much shit.

- The Umbrella Academy family having no improvement in their relationship. They still don't care Klaus relapsed, they still don't care about Viktor. All they care about is their own misery which is really in character but with three seasons out of the way and only one more left I would expect at least something you know.

- Viktor is still left out. Like bro the only compassion he had is only when he transitioned but this is it?? Bro's still waiting till someone comes and cares about him but not only this doesn't happen, he even gets rediculed by Sparrow Ben for that and called emo are you actually kidding me what's with all the hurt with no comfort???

It feels a lot like when you're mentally ill and your family kinda "walks on eggshells" to not trigger you but it's in quotes because they don't actually care. They act nice just because they think you're psycho and you would make less problems if they pretend. And this is very sad, Viktor is such a tragic character.

Will and Jonathan

To celebrate Will’s birthday, long post dedicated to my favorite brothers and their beautiful bond.

Season 1

The most terrifying week of Jonathan’s life. First, he thought that if he had been at home, nothing bad would’ve happened to Will. Then, if you think about it, he is the only one who thought for at least two days that Will really died. His worst nightmare. He failed to protect his little brother.

But he’s always there for Will. And if he had been there that night too, the Demogorgon would’ve killed him and taken Will anyway. And Will would’ve have been lost.

When Will is sad, Jonathan can always make him smile and feel better: 

I have a brother, eight years younger than me. We are very close. I basically raised him. You know, single mom (divorced parents when I was 13 and my brother was 5), night shifts. And we were also poor. 

I relate to the Byers so much. In my family, I am Jonathan. It’s so painful to imagine what he felt when Hopper told him that they had lost Will

When he saw Will’s small body on that table

Season 1 is a roller coaster of emotions. But they all love Will too much. And their love saved him. This is one of the most precious moments in the whole show, imo. I love it so much.

Jonathan is so emotional. He holds Will’s hand as if he wants to be sure that Will won’t go away again. Also, wonderful performance from Charlie. I can feel all Jonathan’s love, happiness and relief

Season 2

Another big season for the Byers brothers. And another time Jonathan risked to lose Will. The crazy thing is that this time Will is there but something is trying to erase everything he is. Another nightmare (army of monsters aside, lol)

Once again, the season starts with Jonathan taking care of his family (I really hope tho that at the end of the story, he can finally live his life and find his happiness, knowing that his family is safe. It’s so unfair -Lonnie’s fault- that he has all those responsibilties at such young age)

Fortunately, he also has Nancy. He’s starting to find something for himself. Problem is, Henry doesn’t care. So, the moment Jon leaves town... oops, Will gets possessed. No wonder he thinks he can’t leave him and his mom. 

But before that, we get another beautiful moment where Jonathan encourauges Will to be himself and be proud of it (Jonathan is just a wonderful person, ok?)

Will is so upset about everything. He knows nobody can understand how he feels. At first he doesn’t even want to talk with Jonathan.

But Jonathan knows him so well and always knows what to say. Being a freak is actually the best. Normal people never accomplish anything important in this world. 

And then this. So sweet. Aaaand we also have little shit Will, who always reminds his siblings that they are friendless, lol. I love him

And of course, Will smiles again

Then, sorry Jonathan. The real nightmare begins. I love S2, because there’s so much love for Will in every scene. From Mike, Joyce, Jonathan. What an amazing season! I’m so happy that S5 will include big S2 ideas but also have S1 vibe. The two seasons where Will and the love people have for him are central.

The last episodes are incredible. I just love everything.

The shed scene is absolutely one of my favorite scenes of the show, and imo, one of the best. Stellar acting, perfect shots, amazing dialogue, and oh, the emotions. It’s simply perfect. And different from what we usually see in Stranger Things.

They love him so much

But then this moment kills me every time. Jonathan is desperate. He can’t hear Will screaming and being in such pain without helping him. I’m glad Nancy was there. In fact, a few minutes later, he tries to help Will, but it was a mistake. 

Jonathan couldn’t think anymore. He was sure Will was dying. He had to save him. But Nancy, as always, helped (yeah, she hurt Will, but it was the only way) This scene!

And then, he got his brother back

Season 3

There aren’t as many scenes as in the previous seasons, but the love between them is always there. 

Always protective

And even when he doesn’t say anything, Jonathan always see his brother’s pain, like Charlie said.

Season 4 

Both brothers are struggling a lot now. They’re older and for a while they probably thought they weren’t as close as they used to be. And that hurt and must have felt so strange. Jonathan is almost adult now. He feels all the weight of his responsibilities. He feels like living his life means abandoning his family. So he’s stuck. So glad he has Argyle!

And Will is dealing with feeling different, his feelings for Mike and the fear that he will never be happy. He’ll never find love. It doesn’t help that for the first time he doesn’t feel his brother’s support. Jonathan seems different and distant. Maybe Will, who’s more aware of his sexuality now, even believes that it’s his fault if his brother doesn’t spend much time with him anymore. 

That’s heartbreaking.

But of course it’s not true, it will never be true. Jonathan never stops caring, or being protective. No matter what.

Oh, and this moment. This moment...

This is the season where both Will and Jonathan have much less scenes than in any other season, and yet S4 is where they share probably their most emotional and beautiful moment. This is the only scene in the show, along with when they find Will’s fake body in the quarry, that made me cry.

It’s so beautiful. Many people criticize it and say it wasn’t clear enough. That the writers were cowards. But I think it’s the opposite. It’s so delicate. And so in character. Jonathan was so sweet. 

He didn’t push Will, because he didn’t know if Will was ready. He knows Will is afraid of losing the people he loves, that they won’t accept him. So he didn’t explicitly say that he knows. He just let his little brother know that he will always love him. That he will always be there. He made Will understand that he is important and special to him, and he will always be. 

And NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING will ever change that.

And Will’s little smile and tears when he hears those words. Jonathan hasn’t forgotten about him. He wasn’t distant because he knows and doesn’t approve.

He’s just dealing with his own problems. And I love, love that here Will also wants to reassure Jonathan that he will always be there for him too.

This has never happened in other seasons. It was always Jonathan the one who offered support. And it makes me hope that in S5, the season of Will’s coming of age, he too will reassure and protect Jonathan, and tell him that he deserves happiness. 

Jonathan’s always been there for Will, and I’m sure he will do everything to protect him again in S5. But Will will protect his brother (and mom) too. Jonathan will see him become confident and find love with Mike. He’ll see his mom with Hopper, and El happy too. And he’ll finally know that he can live his life and that his family is safe and happy.

I swear i have a personality that goes beyond Austin and Ally but on the few occasions I come on Tumblr, I’m instantly hit with Auslly fever.

My favorite episode is Tunes and Trials (2x09) because that episode just gets me in the feels every time.

Like come onnnnn

First Ally tells Austin to write his own song and when he has literally no idea what to do, she tells him write about something he cares about.

Thus prompting him to write his first EVER song on his own (and undoubtedly being one of the best A and A songs).

Trish and Dez notice the song is rather romantic as it’s literally about him stealing someone’s heart. (Not literally but you know what I’m saying, winning someone over) But since Austin isn’t creative like that to be singing about something in general, it MUST be about somebody.

Blah Blah Blah there’s legal drama because Val tries to pass off the song as her own. And even after being in a literal courtroom, Austin still doesn’t want to confess who he wrote the song for. (IMO i dont see how that is much evidence but-hey I see where they were going with it, it would’ve counted as inspiration to write the song i guess)

Eventually he’s asked to perform the song and gives us one of the most memorable performances in the whole show.

Trish notices that he danced or interacted with every person the song was rumored to be about (aka his exes) EXCEPT Ally. (When i was first watching I was wondering why he didn’t even glance at Ally during the performance because she’s literally his most recent ex)

ONLY to find out that the reason he didn’t interact with her was because it would’ve hit too close to home and been too emotional for him…BECAUSE THE SONG WAS ABOUT HER!!!!! *gasp* plot twist (is it really tho?)

And the reason he didn’t want to reveal it was because he didn’t want to make his feelings public and ruin their friendship. Also I feel like he kept it a secret because it was a little school boy crush yk. *cue the AWWS in the audience*

Ally ends up revealing that she’s relieved because she had hoped the song was about her. *cue the AWWS in the audience*

Blah blah blah the judge is a major Auslly shipper (as we all are) and drops the case. And everyone celebrates.

Austin wrote his first ever song by himself, about a girl aka his best friend/ex/musical partner who he still had a big crush on.

I actually have really complex feelings abt him tho I do simplify it a lot. I love canon Mayuri- he's a vile, disgusting man, and the soul societys tolerance or even celebration of him (and some of the other captains) behaviour is rly fucking interesting. It's really fun to dwell in what it all means. Also I am hooked on the fact that we don't get that much info on his past in maggots nest- what exactly lead for him to be there. He has one of the best character designs I have, personally, imo ever seen. All of his outfits are immediately recognizable but different. He's drawn a bit diff during the shower scene w abs n bullshit, but in his outfits there's scenes where he looks so much like a frail little skinny dude who's just putting all of that on to take up more space in this world, to break every norm, etc etc. Hes so fucing internerjaysglksis g AAAAAAAH MAYURI. how are you able to celebrate spirituality without feeling omniscient judgement of your every action? i realize that sounds like an accusatory question out the door LOL but i definitely don't mean it that way. it's moreso like...i spent so much of my life until recently feeling like i wasn't allowed to enjoy or be myself in my own privacy without feeling like i was being watched and weighed. i don't actively practice or pursue spirituality at this time, but i was raised into some incredibly unhealthy christian dynamics, which i think can definitely find relation in my prior mentioned struggles. even so, when it feels healthy and of your own volition, do you feel as though this is a struggle?

for me, ive mentioned before but i was raised by atheist parents. so as i built my own opinions about god, i was never set on the heaven/hell dichotomy, i never felt that god has this weirdly specific list of things u can and cant do. i feel that god wants us to be imperfect & make mistakes so that our souls can grow n expand towards our highest purpose thru many lifetimes of lessons.

that feeling of surveillance, i actually started to worry about it a lot after my dad died, even tho i had no real concept of spirituality at this point cus i was a kid. I just like, started to perceive that he saw everything, and since i was being rebellious teen at the time i felt a lot of guilt for years. Altho once i started learning more i began to feel that angels will never judge you, only love & understand.

Still i try rly hard to live with integrity. and im no angel but i strive to be the best version of Me. & a big part of that, imo, is acting "right" behind closed doors. for example, if someone is talking badly to me about a friend behind their back, am i going to stand up for them? or just let it slide because they're not there to hear it? small things like this may seem like nothing in the moment but they cld blow up in ur face later n u wish u just did the kind thing. i believe small lessons like this will keep repeating until ur soul learns.

one time many years ago i withdrew like $100 from an atm then just totally spaced out & walked away before i grabbed my money. the next person ran after me like "oh my god you forgot your money!" , i was so stunned. like this stranger fully couldve just walked away with a free $100 & i wldnt of even noticed until later. there was no prize waiting for them by doing the right thing. he just did it w no apprehension.

a lot of people (esp people who didn't vibe with ten's story) really hate the "i never would" moment. First for finding it hypocrital ("the doctor's done worse!") and second for it being melodramatic / sanctimonious. (And imo there's a third aspect not talked as much... which is that it just doesn't Hit As Hard to see our main character lose it over a Character Of The Day that, charming as she is, we've only spend 40 minutes with.) tbh I honestly do Get some of these complaints. I think also the moment could Hit Better if the episode it's in was a bit more coherent*. And I think the show is kind of not successful sometimes in juggling... well, the Contractual Obligation as a family show on a publicly funded-network, to not be something that celebrates violence ("only idiots use knives") with the actual Watsonian reality of doctor who, which is super violent, with a high-body, and where The Doctor (in all eras) is a very vindictive, punitive person. I think there's a tension there that sometimes like in this moment comes forth and creates a dissonance that people can be repelled by.

That said ... I do think, honestly, it works 80%. I think this scene is Good Mostly and I'm glad it exists.

'Cause lbr, this had to happen at some point. And it is always going to be an Important scene. And from a purely arc-specific POV, I think it does work when people can put themselves in the shoes of Ten (in being Absolutely Done With This Shit (tm) lol), and.... imo that's why his arc works.

(some) People get pretty mad that he could even be tempted to not save Wilf / save his own skin on ToE, but honestly,,, that and moments like this, where the mask falls and he loses it... but pulls back? that's the good shit. It's seeing the "good guy" character do the good thing he *doesn't want to do* but doing it anyway that makes it compelling an admirable. (*)tbh i don't think it is a bad episode, it's a Could Have Been Better Episode. regardless though it's imo an important episode for the show's lore.... but yes, it is kind of over-stuffed, and Martha should've had more focus since it's her last episode as companion, so this in theory was the last moment to center on her and close some of her arcs with ten. and there is some stuff, but not enough. overall tho is one of the best Donna episodes)

delaporte: delaporte is a duo formed by spaniard sandra delaporte and italian sergio salvi known for being one of the biggest electronic pop bands right now. i actually know them through their project titanas, made to celebrate female voices in the spanish music industry; my personal favourite of them is clap clap, their collab with anaju.

arde bogotá: arde bogotá is an indie rock band formed in cartagena (murcia) in 2017 by antonio garcía, dani sánchez, pepe esteban, and josé ángel mercader, known for the characteristic voice of their vocalist. i've actually been listening to their song antiaéreo for a while now, so i'm glad they're on this list!!! also i love how hard los perros (the song linked under the name) goes !!!

julieta: julieta is a pop and urban artist that sings in both catalan and spanish that goes from pop to reggaeton to house. i had not listened to anything from her but i knew her and i knew she was a girlie i should be on the lookout for. also y'all know how much i love when artists sing in another language that isn't spanish or english so !!!!!

GOMZ: GOMZ, whose real name is raúl gómez, is an indie electropop artist who first rose to fame (I KNEW I KNEW HIM) when he composed tu canción, the song that represented spain in esc 2018. his song sounds nice !!!

judeline: judeline was born in cádiz, and with only 20 years old, she's one of the biggest newcomers to the spanish urban scene. just as with julieta, tho i hadn't listened to any of her songs i knew who she was and yeah, this girl is gonna go far for sure !!!!

joe crepúsculo: NOT JOE CREPÚSCULO 😭😭😭 he's a well established indie pop / electronic artist known for his dance anthems and irreverent attitude. y'all i've seen this man live without knowing who he was and he knows how to give a show that's for sure. he's just a weird little man, just an absolute sicko.

fillas de cassandra: they're a female duo from vigo formed of maria SOA and sara faro who fuse galician oral tradition and modern sounds with a feminism focus on all her songs. i actually have listened to them before, specifically to their song lisistrata (PLEASE LISTEN TO IT AND WATCH THE MV IT'S GREAT), and after learning a bit more about them i might be a bit obsessed with them??? like just from their name ('daughters of cassandra'), their themes and sound, the fact that most of their songs titles reference greek mythology, and how much i loved tataravoa (the linked song, means 'great-grandmother' in galician) that i instantly put it in my playlist... also galician !!!!!!

bajocero x: bajocero x is the stage name of madrid-born daniel lópez, a newcomer to the urban pop scene who actually was a reserve artist in the previous benidorm fest! i like his sound he has potential!

SAMURAÏ: I CAN'T BELIEVE SAMU IS HERE LET'S GOOOO. samuraï is the stage named of aroa, also from madrid, an indie pop-rock artist with a very strong visual and vocal presence. GUYS YOU DON'T UNDERSTADN I'M OBSESSED WITH HER. like i've listened to all her songs so many times she's one of my biggest discoveries of 2023 if not the best i am so in love with her it isn't even funny. her last ep called artillería is so good and it also follows a theme in the naming of the songs which i love so so very much !!!!!! i'm struggling to pick only one song of hers to show to y'all (the linked song is very good btw one of my faves), so i'll give you three: the first song of hers i listened to, her collab with la la love you, and imo her best song in the last ep.

KAI NAKAI: kai nakai is the stage name of iratxe aguilera, a basque singer from gasteiz that does feminist urban music in basque language (euskera). i didn't know her and !!!!!! i do love me some minority language in a popular genre honestly

dulzaro: he's an artist from valladolid who fuses traditional castilian-leonese sounds like jotas, charros and corridos, with traditional instruments like cucharas, panderetas, panderos and botellas de anís, and modern sounds and mixes, to make a quite unique sound. i didn't know him but now i love him so much holy shit !!!! just look at the link and that music video!!!! it's chock full of castilian folklore and traditions and even the town screams castilla y león like it's so fucking perfect!!! and it's a jota !!!!!! oh how i would love this to go to eurovision fuck i know it'd have the same placement as eaea but i don't care this shit is so fucking good.

maría peláe: OH I LOVE HER. maría peláe, born in málaga, is probably one of the new generation of folclóricas [flamenco personalities] in the country, with flamenco full of social messages and almost an agressiveness to it. SHE'S AN ICON she's so funny and sassy and EVERYTHING!!! i love her song por si te vas so much (the music video for it is so good actually) but i might love el grillo (the linked song) even more like it has sooo much lola flores (the greatest flamenco artist ever) energy!!!!! i absolutely adore her

GUITARRICADELAFUENTE: MY MAN. born in aragón, he is a singer songwriter known for his unique sound and his traditional sounds - always with a guitar at the center, that combine rumba, flamenco and indie sounds. he's actually so good it's actually criminal he hasn't gone to benidorm fest. also i'm contractually obligated to link the song that made me discovered him because that song changed the course of my life, nana triste; but also his most known song that actually was who made him known to the public is guantanamera, a version of a traditional havanera that's almost become a classic here. also that mv is how i imagine paradise (it's the town where his grandma lives i think, in aragón).

xiao- my first ever limited five star, i find his gameplay satisfying

lynette- power saving mode is a mood tbh

navia- she looks like taylor swift (one of my celebrity crushes and favourite singers), and she has a very interesting backstory. i can’t wait to learn more abt her

itto- dudes funny, especially in the english dub, and he makes literally every limited time event more enjoyable

ningguang- shes pretty and has a shit ton of money, and i like her dynamic with beidou

beidou- the first genshin character i truly took notice of, shes the reason why i got into the game in the first place. also counterattacking enemies is super fun, and she has nice titties

clorinde- she looks like caitlyn from league of legends, and her english voice gives me an eargasm. also i can’t wait to learn more abt her, and i look forward to seeing more interactions between her and navia

raiden shogun- booba sword, need i say more, and her gameplay is super fun too

nahida- shes so adorable and i would literally go to war for her, shes been thru so much and just needs a hug

collei- shes one of the most wholesome characters in the game imo

dehya- the first sumeru character i fell in love with, her design and backstory are to die for, its a shame her kit isn’t so great tho

diluc- tragic backstory and a complicated dynamic with kaeya, need i say more

eula- thicc thighs save lives, her interactions with other characters are also entertaining imo

shenhe- shes pretty and her backstory is kinda tragic, and her voicelines are also unintentionally funny “what exactly is teamwork” and “i just have to stand here, right”

kaeya- same reason as diluc, easily one of (if not) the most complex character in the game so far, always struggling between his kh’aenriah roots and his loyalty to mondstadt

other things about Comrades in Arms worth noting

-- Again like, I do love Margaret's performativity. I think it's interesting in that gendered way I discussed earlier, and I think it makes sense for her character. She's someone who has explicitly discussed playing a part when she's romantically involved with someone ("If I'd been more like me, maybe you'd have liked me more," to Frank in Hot Lips and Empty Arms), and who consistently behaves in a feigned persona when she's interacting with anyone she's slept with, and who gets more exploration of this later on too, in Stars and Stripes. It makes sense imo.

-- Also as much as I hate Hawkeye not telling Margaret right off the bat that they're not in a relationship (especially when his complaint during their paggro surgery argument is being handed something he didn't expect lol) I do enjoy the sheer horror on his face for the first half of the 2nd ep.

-- I will never not love that Hawkeye's like 'yeah I guess you're right, I did feel something for her.' And so he goes and asks to be friends. God that should be how more heterosexual ust ends.

-- "I feel something for you." "I feel something for you." Narrator: that feeling was friendship.

-- One of Good BJ's best episodes imo (as opposed to Evil BJ's best), with him being the focal point of the 4077's worry about them, especially Hawkeye. One of the few occasions I can buy their friendship being both emotionally intense and positive. Though also shout out to that helicopter pilot who's willing to risk it all for Hawk and Margaret as well despite us never having seen him before lmao.

-- "How would you like to save my life again?" "Want me to fight her for you?" BJ gets off on this and I'm in2 it.

-- The celebration when they get back is cute, but a little drawn out for the sake of padding imo. Mulcahy kissing both their foreheads is adorable tho.

-- Yk, this is minor and not something I'd really expect to be addressed except in my own mind, but I do wish Potter felt guilty about ordering Hawkeye to go demonstrate the technique when he didn't want to.

So my brother and I celebrated Christmas by watching House of Wax (1953)! My thoughts are thus:

CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURE: Author of this post is into wax torture, which may have disproportionately affected her enjoyment of certain versions of this film over others 🤷

I really liked it! The only thing is that me having started out with the 2005 version of this movie, which is by FAR the most insane and extreme version out of the 3 House of Wax films, really kinda makes the older ones pale in comparison horror-wise, lol. The whole time watching the older ones I’m like but they’re already dead?? That’s not hot scary at all 😒

Objectively tho, it IS super creepy, and I love that this version of the film (vs 1933) really dialed up the horror aspect, with the extended scenes of the wax figures melting, more scenes of Jarrod’s facial scarring/burns, etc. Makes sense I guess, since 1933 was apparently billed as more of a mystery/crime thriller than a horror film.

OH, I’d be remiss not to mention 1953’s gimmicky 3D LOL. Was NOT expecting that in a 50s movie. The part where the guy paddleballs at the screen for like a whole 5 minute scene?? Wild. Totally took me out of the moment. Kinda loved the sheer blatantness of it

Unfortunately, the leading lady in this version can’t hold a candle to Florence (Glenda Farrell) from 1933. Florence was by FAR the best of the three movies’ Final Girls (sorry Carly, I do like you, too 😞). She was fucking hysterical, her line delivery was off the shits and her energy carried the whole movie imo. The woman from 1953 (Sue I think?? I can’t even remember hhh) was so forgettable, good lord.

Of course, Vincent Price was incredible. I’m not sure if I could say who made the “better” villain between him and Brian Van Holt as Bo+Vincent, they served such different roles and both turned in excellent performances. I do think that watching the first 2 versions of the movie makes the decision to turn the third version into a hicksploitation teen slasher hilariously baffling. Still a fave of mine, tho 💕

Overall 8/10.

Now when are we getting another remake?? Because I have some ideas…….

I can see a P5D2 happening as we get closer to P6 tbh (if not a P3/4/5D PS5+others port). (and I'm sure they are figuring out how to port Q to other places now they don't have the dual screen).
