A small ramble under the cut

I have been stuck on reading mp100 manga because of the mogami arc. It is an extremely difficult read to me and always gets me thinking about things I rather not. I was also bullied thorough most of my school life, beaten and humiliated, almost dropping out in many occasions. I never thought it'd still get such reaction from me since it's been over 10 years since I been out of school.

I won't go onto much detail, nor do I want to make it sound like I'm feeling sorry for myself, I don't anymore. Of course I wish it didn't happen in the first place and I will carry the weight of that happened always, but I was able to come out the hole I was in, even if it took me a long time.

I am now 26 years old and I feel like I'm finally enjoying being alive the way I should. Getting therapy last year was extremely helpful and my medication changed my life for the better. I was always the one to find joy on the little things but now I feel like my eyes have been opened to such wonder and love that was around me that I feel like I never appreciated enough when I was in such a bad place.

I got amazing friends, a family, 10 wonderful cats. Nothing is ever going to be perfect, but I'm just so grateful for it all. That I got the chance to experience loving and being loved.

This series feels like a journey, much like Celeste did, one that feels uncannily similar to the one I went thorough myself over the course of the last decade. It is the kind of media that many people need, where many can feel seen, that can motivate you into becoming better, realize you're capable of positive change and that's awesome!

Alright, looks like my dearest blorbo lost, so here's my long anticipated post mortem propaganda post for her and the 15 dollar game bundle that blew me away. For decency's sake, i'm sealing the meat of this post behind a read more, so as to not accidentally colour of the skies everyone who follows this tourney. (Or at least i'm going to try to. Tumblr is weird, and apologies if it does not work.)

One fateful day, I purchased the Bundle For Ukraine from itch.io. While I was initially put off by the seemingly bargain bin quality of most of the games, I ultimately decided it was worth it. I donated, got the games, and perused through them for anything eye catching. I found Celeste, Zeroranger, a couple of cute tools…

And a little game called Crosscode.

I was… intrigued. I'd saw this game once or twice before, and I was curious. Figuring that it couldn't hurt to try it, I downloaded the game and started it up.

Crosscode turned out to be a very good game.

And most of that was because of the main character:

Lea.

In summary, Crosscode is an action rpg game made by Radical Fish and released fully on pc in 2018, with console ports later. It follows the story of Lea, a woman who wakes up inside a futuristic MMO set on a moon in a distant galaxy, where players physically control avatars made out of a high tech substance known as Instant Matter (think hard light holograms, and that's pretty much it.), as she's guided by a programmer in order to recover her lost memories. I can go on and on about just how amazing the game is: how the plot takes a turn from "generic mmo isekai esque" to if someone decided to adapt one of the better black mirror episodes into an action rpg, how polished the combat and puzzles are, and how incredible the music is, but that's not what the main purpose of this tourney is. It's to tell you just how good of a character Lea is.

Lea is the main protagonist/player character, a rather shy woman with a real competitive spirit and a cheeky attitude, once she warms up to someone. A major part of her character is due to a major glitch in her avatar's voice module, she's mute (aside from a couple of hardcoded words her programmer friend could put in). "A silent protagonist?" you may ask me. "Like, a player avatar that is deliberately left without any strong characterisation as to allow nearly anyone to insert themselves into?" Nope! Instead of being a blank slate for projection, Lea expresses an incredible amount of character through simply inflection and facial expression.

This is only a PART of her spritesheet! Only a smidge, and i'm not even getting into the special sprites she has for certain story events.

Throughout the story, Lea has to tackle difficulties with not being able to communicate as well with players and NPCs, along with typical mmo difficulties, all while she unravels the dark mysteries of what's really going on behind the scenes of Crossworlds...

Despite her difficulties, she's always treated with respect by the game's narrative, which can be seen with the many interactions between her and the surrounding cast (all mainly expressed through her many sprites).

Yes, the devs made specific sprites just for when you play new game plus with a certain cheat.

Please, do yourself a favour and play Crosscode. It's like twenty bucks on steam without a sale. It's what Sword Art Online would be if it didn't completely suck. It's disability culture. It's the world's best single player MMO. It's a Black Mirror's White Christmas episode adapted into a video game.

And most of all... it has Lea.

After nine grueling months, an eight-hour birth, and several anxious pep talks, you and JJ welcomed beautiful baby Emma Maybank into the world.

She was perfect. Everything you and your friends & family had endured in the last few months was worth it. She had ocean blue eyes like her father and a smile like her uncle John B.

JJ was seemingly more nervous than you about it all. Once you two had (finally) moved into your apartment, he made sure the nursery was perfect with every detail. He always took amazing care of you when he could, making sure Sarah or Kiara took care of you when he was working. Most of those “anxious pep talks” were from you to him, as he was almost over working himself with the baby.

You knew JJ would be a great dad. He took care of you so well, and you could tell he would do whatever he could to be the parent baby Emma needs. That was just the way he was. That's the man you fell in love with.

Your assumptions proved true the second he held your baby girl in his hands. A look of relief washed over him as he wrapped his arm under her so that her head would be in the crook of his elbow. He smiled at her while you started to doze off.

When you woke up, JJ was still holding the baby, but now he was asleep on the couch near you. He was perfect. Your baby was perfect. Life was good right here.

Soon after, the pogues visited you three, each getting their turn with Emma. JJ stayed closest to you, pressing sweet kisses to your cheeks and forehead now and again. He whispered little things to you too:

“I love you, sweetheart.”

“Shes beautiful, just like her mom.”

Everyone went home late that evening. There was an unspoken agreement between you, JJ, and the pogues; Emma would have an amazing family. And each of you were going to try as hard as possible to give her a good life, better than what you had. The baby had the best support system she could get.

You and JJ practically worshipped the baby. She was the start of your life together. With her, you and JJ felt perfect in place.

loela smiles down at her phone screen as she scans over the text from aryne. it was a picture of a picture drawn by jace on green construction paper and it was apparently meant to showcase the two of them playing at the park. she doesn’t have time to type out a response before arms are thrown around her shoulders, “it’s baby free night, remember?”

“do you think that i forgot that you tried to turn my phone off in the uber,” the nineteen year old rolls her eyes as she hearts the image before placing her phone in her bag. “what are we doing now? shots?”

“you my girl,” celeste reaches across the table to boop her friend’s nose, “are going to walk up to the bar and talk to that man who has been staring at you since we walked in.”

“oh c’mon loe. get a drink out of him at least,” jenna croons from behind her, “for you or for me.”

“why don’t you go and talk to him then?”

“because i am engaged and i don’t think that your brother would like that very much,” jenna claps her shoulders, “you’ll be amazing. just swing the hips, smile like i taught you, and we’ll be getting you down the aisle next.”

“unlikely,” loela mumbles as she finishes off the last of her cocktail that was already in front of her. the girls make a show of cheering her on as she pushes away from the table and grabs her bag, crossing the room to lean against the bar just a couple of spaces away from her target. she gets the bartenders attention, “cosmopolitan, please.”

“never had that before. is it good?” she turns her head to the side to find the man in question suddenly a lot closer than he had been. she hums and he raises two fingers, “make that a double.”

“trusting a stranger?”

“you seem to know what you’re talking about,” the guy shrugs nonchalantly before reaching a hand over the empty seat between them, “i’m joseph.”

“have we met before, joseph?” she raises a curious eyebrow, not being able to shake the feeling that she had seen this man before. he shakes his head and she places her small hand in his abnormally large one, “‘m loela with an e.”

“loela with an e?” he chuckles, “any particular reason for that e?”

“my mom had never seen it spelled that way and she also wanted to make sure that my name was misspelled every single time,” she shrugs her shoulders, sending the bartender a smile when he sets their drinks down in front of them, “most of my friends just call me loe.”

“have i earned that privilege?”

“i’ll let you know in a little while, joseph.”

“loela, you gotta be faster!” axton calls as he darts down the hallway. she bounces a sleeping rae in her arms as she rolls her eyes at the boy, “c’mon!”

“i’m holding your sister, ax. come back here please,” loela calls out. her eyes go wide as the boy crashes into the back of a pair of legs which puts her into overdrive to get to the little boy. she bends down, carefully cradling the baby’s head as she helps axton to his feet, “are you okay, dude? you need to watch where you’re going.”

“but i was watching you,” axton pouts as she dusts off his pants.

“and i was behind you, wasn’t i?” she quirks up an eyebrow and his frown deepens. “it’s okay, ax. you just need to apologize-”

“loe?” the voice is vaguely familiar. she looks up just in time to see the eyes of the man she had fallen into bed with the night before staring back down at her. she notices the hoodie adorning his upper body, looking eerily similar to the issued one that she had seen matthew and john wear on multiple occasions, “what are you doing here?”

oh, well this is just great.

Hazards to Society

Hazards to Society is a found family/ fantasy/ science fiction show concept about an angel named Midnight who rises to power after murdering their god, afterwards founding a group called the Hazards. Although small, the group is known for causing chaos on Aleam Island… until, of course, they have to protect it at all costs…

Created by me and my real-life friend group, Hazards To a society is our passion project formed solely off of our OCs and pure chaos.

It’s Me Birthday

I was going to draw a cute lil picture but due to a lil bit of art burnout I wasn’t able to- so instead I’m gonna write a bit of an update of my life by looking back at the past year since my last birthday.

Last year at this time I was working a job that made me miserable and wondering what I was doing with my life. It was a few months after meeting Flash, Flux, and Guru (Dawn and Doe too!) and I had just gotten back into military history- something I felt for a long time was wrong and bad for me to be into. I ended up quitting that job and starting a job that is my favorite to this day (though sadly I moved and couldn’t keep the job) and getting closer to a lot of people I’ve met through this community.

The people I’ve met here- like Silver, Doe, Daw, Flash, Ally, Flux, Guru, Summer, Aw0, Captain Molasses, Saryn ( and Fly Guy through him), Sugar, TechBro, Dainty, Paint, Dark, and so so many more- helped me so much in being comfortable and confident in who I am. They have been a constant supportive force in my life since I’ve opened myself up to them here and helped me through one of the hardest transitioning periods in my life.

In this time I’ve moved states, starting a new job, started a new Church, started a new relationship, and started being unapologetically me and I have my amazing friends to thank for helping me get to this point!

I also need to sing raises to God because where I was just s year ago was a place that looking back on it I really wasn’t happy- I didn’t know it myself but He did. I was around people who put me down (mostly those old jobs) and made me feel I wasn’t good enough and an idiot and now I’m around people who love and value me! Only God could of so perfectly brought me from where I was to where I am now.

I gotta give special thanks to a few key players in helping me out over these last few months and if you aren’t in the list don’t think that doesn’t mean I don’t value you! I think I means we need to chat more! Seriously, feel free to dm me! :3

Doe: Honey- thank you. You were the first I came to when I realized what I did and you were so patient with me, you gave me a distraction and an ear to listen while I was figuring life out. You never said “oh do this” or “do that” just listened and held me to my decision. You even gave me the kick to tell Guru how I felt!

Flux: You stayed up with me in late night calls- helping me process everything when my world was falling a part. You helped me understand my feelings and realize that feeling my feelings was okay. You’ve been the big brother I always wanted and it was so nice to bound with you while we courted out S/Os. I’m grateful for you being there when I was so scared.

Ally: You ALSO helped me understand my feelings and understand that it’s okay to feel my feelings. You sat with me while I toiled with anger and sadness; and you vented back to me your own. You have been steadfast in your support and love for me and I’m grateful to have a friend like that- you also have been nothing but supportive of me and Guru and always know what to say when I need it. Yeah misses “you are cute,” I see you

Flash: Fella you started it all! You brought me to these friendships. Your a quite strong wall of support for us and I just hope I can be one back to you. You remind me repeatedly “is this under God?” And it’s great to have a friend like that. Your a great artist and I’m glad to have you as a friend- we gotta do more with Fell and Celeste!

SilverWing: Honey get OVER HERE! You’ve been so supportive and kind to me in your feral way and I love it. It’s so nice having someone in my life who wants to pop off about the interests I thought for YEARS I wasn’t allowed to have. We don’t talk as much as I do some others on this list but we don’t have to either. Just vibes all the time 😎

Dawn: We don’t talk that much but I can always trust you. No doubt you are my friend and that being around you is always a blast. Your art is amazing and I do hope we can grow closer- but we really don’t need to, it’s just vibes all the time and I’m grateful for you.

Dainty: Girly we may not be extremely close or whatever but ASSDSDSD YOU ASADSF!! Always supportive and kind to me, always saying nice stuff about me!! You are really awesome thanks for bring my friend!

Dark: Dark, you know well by now I call you my dad. You have been in my life since I was 16 and have supported me though so much- you watched me grow up and grow into my own and I do hope I made you proud. When you saw all that stuff happening with me you stepped up to help me in your amazing Dark way and I’m so grateful for it and you. I just wish I knew how to return the favor. Please don’t undervalue yourself of your art- you are a huge inspiration to me and I don’t want you to leave my life. I trust you.

Guru: Well honey it’s your turn now. I’ve been writing this for the 30 min.

You have had such a healthy and happy impact on my life. You support me and love me just the way I am! You are an amazing and godly man that I can say wholeheartedly I love. You were part of why I got back into the military and you’ve been so crazy supportive in that time I really needed it. I’m so glad we grew closer and you ended up catching feelings for me like I did you. Having a great Christian man by my side is nothing short of amazing and the fact that on top of it all you are handsome, outgoing, well rounded, bubbly/friendly, understanding, and patients. You are the whole package as they say.

I love you hun and don’t you forget it

I used to do Minecraft stuff, trying to make the game live up to its visual potential while staying within the confines of the vanilla game's engine, but now I'm kinda just burnt out of the game as a whole. Oh well! Now I just generally like looking into the visual and game design of various games.

My interests are mostly gaming-related, but I've tried to dabble in art occasionally. I like all sorts of games, like Pokémon, Minecraft, Celeste, Hollow Knight, Rain World, Risk of Rain, Ultrakill and probably even more that I'm missing, and definitely more after this post is made.

Hello, all! It's Moon- I'm not typically around as much as Mira, but it's always a pleasure when I can be~

I do have a partner, and I will always talk about them given the opportunity, but I carry a certain form of love for all of my close friends. The people I know mean a lot to me.

I love the simple things in life, from food, to nature, to the contrast of light and dark in both a literal and literary sense. I often find myself overwhelmed by everything that goes on in the world, but I find comfort in knowing the bad stuff is only a few bad people out of a beautifully diverse species.

If you couldn't tell, I generally prefer looking on the bright side and finding something to love about things rather than staying miserable all of the time. I don't get out much, and so I'd much rather give people that light to hold onto than spread the same old bleak story that you've heard from countless other people, regardless of how important it is to share. Change is built on hope, after all.

Normally people put a DNI in their bio or their pinned post, but I don't really care to do that. If you're a bitch, I'll block and move on. I don't care how you use a label, or where the other folks in your head came from, or whatever other queer-adjacent drama is the hot topic, I accept you regardless. I'm ace, I still love my partner, I can love anyone, I use it/its pronouns, I'm robokin, I've got another goober in my head whose origins are unknown, do you really think I'd hate you for being you?

That's actually an important point- even if I do think something someone's done is unforgivable, I believe that bad people are still people. In some ways, that makes things better, they have lives outside of what they commit, but it also makes things worse when you realize someone woke up and actively chose to perpetuate genocide. Some people are genuinely that bad, others are just misguided and can be helped. Ultimately, it's not my job to "save" anyone. I just try to provide a light of kindness when I can.

Wow, that was long-winded for a post that's just supposed to describe me. I suppose that's in-character for me, though. Agree with me or not, I don't really care, as long as you're respectful. I hope you've found this post helpful in understanding who I am as a person, long-winded as it is. Have a good one, whoever and wherever you are.

This Valentine’s Day, in the year of our lord 2024, Calliope is just about six months old. Quinn only wants to stay home, cook a nice meal for Rachel, put their daughter to bed, and enjoy a quiet night with just the two of them on the sofa (not) watching a movie - until Callie inevitably wakes up in the middle of the night and demands their attention. 

Rachel, on the other hand, wants to take her wife and the mother of her child out for a romantic dinner. The problem, of course, is that all of their friends who she can occasionally convince to watch their baby daughter for a few hours want to do the same thing with their significant others even though Valentine’s day is right in the middle of the week on a Wednesday. The only available option is grandma Shelby who has her own just-barely teenage daughter that she still won’t leave alone in the house, but Quinn will not agree to bundle up their baby girl and tote her all the way to Englewood, New Jersey, in the middle of winter. 

So it’s option one on February 14th, with a more romantic evening out planned for the following Saturday when Shelby and Beth can come to their apartment and stay with Calliope while Rachel and Quinn get all gussied up and head to Le Pavillon in Midtown for fancy French cuisine. Quinn only sneaks off to the restroom twice to check in with Shelby. 

Generally, this is how it goes every year post-kidlets. The actual day becomes more of a family thing with kisses and cuddles and chocolates and pink hearts and flowers, but Quinn and Rachel always try to carve out some other day for just the two of them to celebrate in a more romantic way.

200+ Followers Event: Drunken confession from Shuichi!

(For the sake of clarity, everyone mentioned is of legal drinking age! Also, Mod Celeste says to drink responsibly!)

Shuichi is not usually a drinker. He'll join Kaito and Rantaro at the bar every so often, though he's the designated driver pretty much every time. Not that he minds, of course. He'd hate to lose his inhibitions.

Last time the guys got together, Kaito told him about the annual class reunion in a few weeks. Despite the... quirkiness of his graduating class, Shuichi does still like seeing them every so often. Also, you would be there-- and he's been thinking about catching up since you are often out of the county for work.

"I know you'll be there dude-- y/n already RSVP'd." Kaito laughed as he smacked him in the shoulder.

So, once the day came, there he was. The reunion was usually held at a nice hotel's convention center. A fairly dressy event, but that didn't stop Gonta from not wearing shoes... "you have to admire his consistency," Shuichi thought. It put him at ease to see old friends.

He was making small talk with Maki when you arrived. Dressed sharply and beautiful as ever, his heart stopped at the sight of you. But it had been so long... what would you even talk about? Heck, would you remember him? The anxiety filled his mind.

Kokichi, observant as ever, saw him in this state. He scampered over, mischievous intentions clear, and struck up a conversation. "Heeeeey buddy, cat got your tongue?"

Startled, Shuichi stuttered out a response. "O-oh, uh... yeah, I suppose. Just a bit out of my element, haha." That was an understatement.

"Well... I think I know just the thing. Loosen up, will ya?" With his devious little smile, he passes Shuichi a glass of champagne. In a moment of weakness, he downed the whole thing. Though, it did help.

Looking for some better solace than Kokichi, the detective found Kaito and Maki once again. He saw you talking to the hotel staff, friendly and warm. They could tell Shuichi was a bit shaken, so the pair sat him down and tried to help.

"Listen, man. I know you've got the hots for y/n, so you should be honest!" Kaito was a pretty straightforward guy, for better or worse.

"Now now, Kaito. It's not always that simple..." Maki, the more thoughtful of the two, chimed in.

Shuichi sat at their table, dejected. "I'd love to, but... what if they don't reciprocate? What if I do something wrong?"

Kaito knows when he gets like this, positivity is the remedy. "Have some confidence! You're a really cool guy, and they know it. Just show them that and you can't go wrong! That's how I got Maki-roll, you know." She rolls her eyes, but can't deny it either.

He takes the advice to heart. Trying to embrace the night in stride, he has a few more drinks and makes the rounds to talk to everyone. Shuichi had planned on saving you for last, in the hopes maybe he'd catch you alone. However, the nerves got to him, as did the alcohol. By the time he walked his way over to you (it was more of a stagger, actually), his cheeks were flushed and he had an unusual expression.

"Uh, hey there... y/n." He attempted the charm of a movie star, albeit poorly. "How's it been?" He enquired.

He was clearly a bit inebriated. You thought it was cute, though. The entire night you'd seen him steal glances, only to turn away shyly. He wanted to impress you, and you knew it. You'd had some chemistry back in school, after all. You humored him and answered, with the same "cool-person" attitude.

In his state, he saw this as a win. So, he kept going. Maybe not being held back by his rational side was a good thing? "Let's say we go over the balcony, you and I... I'd like some more alone time with you, if you don't mind," He winked as he took your hand and guided you to the secluded spot. The guardrails were strung with twinkling lights and the view was just stunning.

You asked what his intentions were, and he finally came clean. "So, uh... as it turns out, I'm in love with you. Crazy, right? I have since Hope's Peak, really. I'm sure you've got an awesome partner already though, so this... this is without hope or agenda, okay?" Even in his drunken state, some genuine thoughts slipped through.

Hearing the words after all this time brought you peace. You hugged him tightly, reassuring him you had nobody else. His red face turned redder.

"Huh? Wait, you actually--- huh. I didn't plan this far..." you both shared a laugh at that. The night had worn on very long, however, and it was time to get going. You drove him home, and tucked him in. By that point, he was passed out. What a night!

In the morning, he was greeted with a horrible headache and a note on his bedside table. It read: "Hope you're up for some dinner tonight-- I have an extended stay here at home. Plus, it's about time for a first date, don't you think?" Signed with your name.

The shock finally hit him. "What did I do last night?" Shuichi was partly mortified, but...

Seems Kokichi was right about loosening up.
