BNHA 392 - Thoughts

The Touya - Toga parallels are really strong. Not just the image of them crying as children who are not understood by their parents, but also the way they react with jealousy to their hero counterpart having the life they wish they had and the fact that they both focus on the differences ("we turned out to be real different" / "we are built different").

There is also the idea that more than just being annihilated and contained, the hero kids are trying to face their villains (as opposed to Kamui Woods, who seems to contemplate murder?)

Tsu circling back to her post-Kamino realizations that maybe it's not as simple as breaking the rules is what makes you a villain. Tsu talks about her friends in plural. I don't know if she just means Ochako and Izuku, but I hope Shouto is included too. And it will circle back to the notion that Toga thinks Touya was killed, when in fact his family came to see him for real and they were trying to save him.

So I think for Toga to listen fully, it's likely that she'll need to hear from Hawks about Twice, maybe needs to see that Touya is alive and then have her see that Ochako values her as a human being and not as some monster.

If I understand it correctly, now the Twice clones are licking blood to create clones of all the heroes on the battlefield. It's an interesting way to combine Twice's and Toga's abilities - I wonder what's up with that. But the chaos also means Toga can approach Hawks disguised.

I suppose licking Uraraka's blood now, she could go to him pretending to be an injured Ochako. The stomach wound is also reminiscent of Toga's dream back in Ch 341

It's interesting that the sparrow is revealed to be something that Toga found already dead in the garden. That's where rejection started to lead to suppression and then a spiral and in her dream the bird is the symbol of her self-destruction.

Because the implication seems to be that there is no inherent violence linked to Toga's quirk. She could have satisfied her needs without killing, if people were open to accepting it.

I don't know if Toga will have a villain name. I don't think she ever saw herself as one. But then there was a line that Izuku's rejection turned her into a full-fledged villain. So maybe she will pick something.

ch.1 First Meeting

DESC : ̗̀➛ when the new school year starts, reki meets his seatmate for the remainder of the year, you. then with a school project on both of your hands, and spending almost every minute together, the fondness you share for each other begins to change to something different.

A new school year, new classes, new classmates, and new faces.

Reki felt like he was going to hurl.

The overwhelming amount of people shoving themselves into him on accident (and on purpose) has his head spinning. The welcome assembly the principals thought was a good idea had been bent out of shape when an obnoxious delinquent starts yelling about pride.

What a great start to the new school year.

His heart pounds in his chest as he nears his homeroom class, huffing out a puff of air as he stares at the seating chart displayed on the screen.

Y/n L/n? I've never heard of them before...

Reki's eyes drift over to his table, pulse slowing when he sees you already seated.

"My name is Reki Kyan ." He says, holding his hand out for you to take. "I look forward to working with you this year."

A laugh escapes you at his formalities. You give him a smile as you slide your hand into his, shaking it once, you've got a firm grip. "Nice to meet you Reki , I'm Y/n L/n." He drops your hand after a moment, awkwardly standing at the foot of your desk. "You can also drop the formalities, Reki. We're the same age after all."

"Right." He murmurs, sliding into the seat beside you. "Um, have you always gone to this school?" He asks, "It's just, I've never seen you before."

You hum, "I've been here. I just tend to blend in with the crowd." Reki 's mouth fell open, he was so sure that you were a new student. "I—" you laugh lightly at his expression. "is it really that shocking?"

He shakes his head hurriedly, he didn't want to offend you. "Of course not, I'm usually aware of everyone but you..." he trails off as he gets a proper look at you, heat rising up his neck when your lips part. "You took me completely by surprise."

"Well," you start, shutting your book closed. "I hope that doesn't hurt your image of me, whatever it may be." The smile you give him makes his heart pound, for a reason he couldn't explain. "I hope we can be good friends, Reki ."

Reki  nods, "Yeah." His tongue juts out to run over his dry lips. "Me too."

This is going to be a long school year.

Without realizing it, Yuder caught his glance, almost drifting towards the newly replaced sofa. "…Yes. If you call, I will come." Though the response was stiff, it wasn't difficult for a perceptive man to realize what had briefly crossed Yuder's mind before that answer. A bright laugh sounded near Yuder's nape. "Good. I'll look forward to it."
