Malaysia, 2014
It was a tiring day, your period wasn't helping either. You were just itching to get home, take a shower, and order from that new Mexican place your boyfriend had been talking about. It was a Friday, so you were getting excited about the weekend. For some reason, you were feeling so grateful, maybe because your life was finally normal and you were happy. It was all okay until you encountered a young boy in a wheelchair, with a curse engulfing his lower body. A world that you wanted to escape so desperately, somehow never failed to present itself in a situation that made you question your morality. But after everything you had seen, you were way past morality, so you ignored the boy like you did with every other person who needed you.
"Jayden", you called out for your boyfriend as you opened the door to your shared apartment. You assumed, that he wasn't home yet as nobody answered but the familiar cursed energy you sensed said otherwise. You felt dreaded as it wasn't possible, you had dodged every single mistake that could have given away your whereabouts.
"Please no", you prayed as you walked further into the apartment. You froze, as you entered your bedroom. The bed was soaked in blood as the lifeless body of your boyfriend was being violated by a curse. "No, no, no, no, no", tears spilled out of your eyes as you started screaming in denial. It quickly turned into anger as a certain raven-haired man standing in the corner declared his presence, "Surprise!!!". You attacked him with a punch straight to his face and he didn't budge, he didn't dodge the many punches you threw his way while crying your heart out. He did stop you, chuckling, "Aww, don't cry..did you actually love this one? C'mon now, you know you're not capable of that". He started cradling you in a hug, "Now let's get back to business.., remember the traitor who left me?.. yeah, yeah, the one I trusted the most, remember that person?", his hand slid down your hair slowly as he continued, "oh wait, you look a lot like that person..the one who abandoned me".

2005
On New Year's Eve, you told your mum about some weird dreams you were having for the past few days, and of course, being a typical mother, she blamed it on your choices of television series. But you knew it wasn't because of the few Supernatural episodes that you had seen in the span of two months.
From the beginning of time, you were used to seeing terrifying figures randomly, which were avoided at all costs as you were scared of what might turn out if they knew of your existence. However, your parents thought otherwise, resulting in child therapy, which wasn't working yet you pretended it did. You adapted to your surroundings being full of creepy creatures, ignoring them, and trying to live like a normal teenager. That was until the onset of some weird dreams and a malevolent presence under your bed. It was weird, as none of them ever came in close proximity to you. Hence, you started sleeping with your parents again. The nightmares didn't stop; in spite of that, you felt good, safe, and loved, no longer scared.
The peacefulness vanished on the first day of 2006, when you were alone in the house and someone was singing a broken melody. You were petrified as you saw a woman playing a violin emerging from a newborn's skull, singing while rocking to the rhythm in the drawing room, suddenly stopping, turning, and smiling unnaturally at you.
"You would make a beautiful cello."
You bolted as it proceeded to move crookedly in your direction. It was guffawing so loudly that you had to cover your ears. Locking yourself in the bathroom, you called your parents, whispering to them about how much you loved them, until you heard a frightening tune on a piano. The call was disconnected, and the door started melting while you tried to escape from the window you couldn't reach. The room started turning white, and you saw your reflection in the mirror, smiling at you. Your vision blurred as you fell into a slumber.
Waking up, your eyes adjusted to the brightness of a white room. You felt agitated at first, but slowly observing, you saw your parents sitting sadly on a white couch. Thank fuck, it was a hospital room. Their happiness and relief after your recovery from an unexplainable incident couldn't be measured. You were spoiled rotten with love as you woke up after a week of unconsciousness. In the evening of the same day, a bulky man in all black approached your family, discussing something before finally coming to you. He introduced himself as Masamichi Yaga and unfolded the world of Jujutsu sorcerers to you. Though your parents were sure he was a cult member, you felt ecstatic; you weren't crazy after all. With that came many days of convincing, resulting in your parents ultimately agreeing to admit you to Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College after checking its legitimacy a thousand more times. They were not ready to let you go, but they came around as you kept insisting with evidence.
On the way to the campus, the tough-looking man turned out to be a total softie who was explaining to you about your unknown technique and appreciating you for exorcising a grade 2 curse without any training. You were dumbfounded, but you were a sucker for praise, so you didn't question him.
After reaching the campus, you were introduced to your classmates, an almost gloomy Kento Nanami, and a total cutie, Yu Haibara. They were great, especially Haibara, who was currently showing you around the campus. After getting a hot drink, you both settled down on a seat. You weren't expecting to get along with anyone on the very first day, but Haibara's just so sweet that anyone can feel comfortable. He showed you your assigned room, and you guys called it a night.
However, later at night, your slumber was disrupted by a growling stomach at 3 in the morning. It was odd timing for a takeout, but you still gave it a shot, ordering a Zaru Soba with cola. You were surprised at how advanced the Tokyo delivery system was, as you got your delivery within 10 minutes. It tasted better than your expectations, and with that, you started brainstorming ideas to decorate your room, which was interrupted by a knock on the door. You ignored it the first time out of caution, but you opened it on the third knock. To your surprise, a literal god stood in front of you, and you didn't know how to react. "Hey..?", you broke the ice with an awkward greeting.
"I think the delivery guy confused our orders because we ordered the same thing, so I'm assuming this is yours", the Greek god said as he offered you your cola.
"Oh yeah, thanks..um..yeah", you were doing a great job continuing the conversation with your five syllables. Before you could close the door and save your ass from embarrassment, the guy asked for your name, and you told him. Shit, now you felt obligated to ask his name, and so you did. "And you are?"
"Geto Suguru"

Russian Su-30SM2 combat jet with updated engine makes its debut in ARMY-2023
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 21/08/2023 - 20:01in Military
The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) showed for the first time an updated Sukhoi Su-30SM2 aircraft with the AL-41F-1S engine derived from the more powerful Su-35 and the Su-57 stealth jet.
"Within the structure of ARMY 2023 ......... in Kubinka, the recently modernized Su-30SM2 multipurpose combat jet designed to achieve air supremacy, patrol state borders, intercept air targets and carry out air attacks on ground targets is presented to the general public for the first time," the Ministry of Defense said in an official statement. "One of the characteristics of the modernized aircraft is
The Su-30SM2 updated with the new engine should be of great interest to existing Su-30 operators, such as India, Algeria, Malaysia and Vietnam, who will benefit from upgrading their existing Su-30 fleet with greater engine power.
Tumblr media
The inclusion of the more powerful AL-41F-1S engine (over the previous AL-31F engine) in the Su-30 will allow the transport of heavy missiles, such as the Brahaos and other air-to-ground weapons.
Previously, the manufacturer of the Su-30SM2, United Aircraft Corporation, had said when announcing the delivery of a batch of Su-30SM2 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces: “New machines receive improved radio-electronic equipment on board, as a result of which the range of detection and identification of air targets has increased. New high-precision weapons to destroy air, land and sea targets at a distance of several hundred kilometers have been introduced in the armament of fighters."

This is a bit of facts about my countryhumans ASEAN PART 1:
• Indonesia is not a softie, it is more serious then the Indonesia we see on the CH fandom. I wanna make it better. I don't want it to be a uncomfortable fact.
• There are 2 Malaysias, one is the West, one is the east. They are twins.
• Martial law is not The Philippines's sibling, but the evil side of the Philippines.
• Brunei Darusalam is originally kind of like Singapore, but loves to be in peace.
• Singapore always say something that makes sense, but at the same time, explains it with but of denial and selfishness.
There will be a part 2 soon...

Undead Unluck ch. 145 thoughts (this time for real)
[Para Bellum]
Void officially introduces himself to the rest of the current Union, and Gina refers to him very spitefully as “Junior member,” as she still has not forgiven him for hurting her good friend Fuuko (is this what the kids are calling yuri these days?)
Nico introduces the unconscious Fuuko as the Union’s boss and Void is confused, clearly not having realized that was the case, and why would he? She’s so young, and he probably didn’t think that this was an organization until literally right this moment anyway, but again, that’s why Fuuko’s actions leading up to this point to build rapport have been so important, as I’ve said probably every week for the past three chapters
Apocalypse continues reciting the Quest results, incensed that no one seems to be paying attention to him, which is hilarious because of how haughty he’s always been. Get wrecked you stupid hard-cover
With Void’s capture comes the revelation of Remember’s location, which seems to be in the Gulf of Thailand, though based on other shots it may be further south in the South China Sea. I think the exact location is supposed to be vague, but as far as I can tell it’s an island just off the coast of Malaysia. If I had to get more specific, it seems to be in the Riau Islands, which is Indonesian territory. I’m not exactly good with geography, I’m just lining up the map with a real world atlas and taking a shot in the dark, but I think it’s Natuna. I’ll go into more detail later, but for now, let’s just settle for it being in the South China Sea
Fuuko doesn’t see the results at first, though, since she’s unconscious from getting the ever-loving knocked out of her by Void. She anticipated this, though, and preemptively asked Nico to prepare a way to wake her up, like smelling salts. Naturally, the way he picked was basically a taser to the neck
Fuuko wakes up in a panic, immediately looking for Void to confirm that she succeeded, and Void greets her as Boss, acknowledging that she’s earned his respect. Also, Gina in the background pointing to Void like “ta-daaa,” she’s so cute. Fuuko’s smile when she sees Void is cute. Even Void’s smile when he’s greeting Fuuko is cute. This series is cute. I love it so much
Fuuko congratulates her team on a job well done with a “wicked sick” and, again, the most adorable smile. Who wouldn’t fall in love with that face?
Apocalypse, apparently. He threatens to come up with even tougher Quests for the next round, promising that they’ll wipe out the entire Union, and Fuuko in regular fashion declares that that’s how she wants it. Apocalypse goes to sleep with this ominous warning, but I think he’s just being a tsundere
Fuuko states that their next objective is to find Remember, but not necessarily to use it. She explains the mechanics of Remember and that it will cause everyone to recall their previous lives. As she says this, we’re shown the ghosts of the current team’s previous selves: the possessed and crazed Nico, the exhausted and dying Ichico, the old and broken Gina, and the disgraced and prejudiced Void hiding in his armor. Not understanding the gravity of the situation, Nico is gung-ho for everyone to get a power-up from their accumulated experiences, but Fuuko reminds him that the hell his past self experienced will be thrust upon him as well
Fuuko gives an impassioned speech about how everyone can turn this hell into fuel, their regrets into power, to motivate them to finally defeat God, but in the process she nearly falls over only to be caught by Nico. It’s such a subtle panel, it could easily have been omitted and is likely easily ignored, but it’s a really nice touch. A small reminder that Fuuko is being supported by her team, gives me the good feelings
Fuuko acknowledges that this is just her perspective, though, and it’s not right to thrust the weight of a hundred lifetimes onto someone not willing to receive it, especially since it might impact the individuality of those who have lived their own unique lives in this world. This is why she wants the input of everyone involved: all 25 allied Negators that she met in the previous Loop
The image here is beautiful: the Roundtable, expanded not only to have 13 seats in and of itself, but with extensions floating above it to accommodate another 12, friends and foes from the past all coming together as one with no one excluded and not organized based solely on strength. Up in the corner is the kid’s table for Bunny, Phil and Tatiana, who’s waving to other members; Enjin and Kururu are off together in their own corner, just as Rip and Latla are in another; Feng and Shen are kicking each other from their seats while Mui tries to break it up; Sean is there for some reason. The only way this shot would be better is if we could get a clear image of where everyone is sitting, as there’s a handful of seats that we just have no indication of, but either way, this is the panel I was talking about the other day. Mark my words, this panel is going to be defining imagery for this series, if for no other reason than because it so succinctly summarizes the dynamic of the entire cast
It is curious though that Fuuko says 25 (give or take) including herself. Let’s count, shall we?
The original ten members of the Union: Juiz, Shen, Billy, Phil, Tatiana, Isshin, Top, Nico, Gina and Void
The four replacements and add-ons: Fuuko, Andy, Chikara and Mui
Former member Ichico
The ten members of Under aside from Billy: Tella, Creed, Rip, Yusai, Feng, Enjin, Kururu, Latla, Bunny and Sean
And three unaffiliated Negators: Akira, Lucy and Ruin
Before the three stragglers, that actually puts us neatly at 25; Akira obviously isn’t a Negator anymore, so I’m not surprised that she isn’t counting him, but she doesn’t seem to be counting Lucy despite the fact that she was on her roadmap in ch.133. In fact, Ruin was on the roadmap too, so why not count him? Here’s my take: she is counting Lucy, and the one’s she’s excluding are Andy and Ruin. Why? Because they should both have their memories already from surviving the Loop, so they don’t need to have an opinion on using Remember
Or she doesn’t want Lucy to fight and Ruin is still an enemy for now, that would make sense too
Nico objects and thinks they should just use Remember on everyone so that they can recruit people without conflict, but Ichico doesn’t like the idea of having her future spoiled for her, like finding her knight in shining armor. Nico calls her unmarriable and instantly gets a slap to the face. I imagine it’s supposed to be that Ichico came over to hit him, but I like the idea that Gina just psychically whapped him with Unchange
The group looks up at the map and realizes that, since it’s 1999, the location that Remember seems to be hidden is in the middle of a warzone. Now, I tried to find what conflicts happened in the South China Sea in 1999, and did find a few things, but nothing I feel confident pointing to as the event in question. Maybe it’s a territorial dispute between Taiwan, Malaysia and the Philippines, or a fight for oil on Natuna? Or maybe it’s spillover from another conflict happening somewhere close by, like the East Timorese conflict? Again, I’m not geographer or historian, so if you know anything about the geopolitics of the late 1900′s-early 2000′s, clue me in
Nico worries about the prospect of hunting for Remember amidst a warzone, but Fuuko assures him that if they’re going there anyway, it’s low priority, as this is the location of three more Negators: Billy, Tella and Creed. Going by their uniforms (according to my roommate) they seem to be affiliated with the US army, though they could be mercenaries. At first I thought Billy and Tella were hiding from Creed in his (apparently) Russian tank, but my roommate says that Tella is most likely radioing instructions to Creed to help him navigate the tank
I really like that Creed a) has Guile hair to continue the Street Fighter parallels that Void brought in, and b) has a little fan taped up next to him in the tank. Again, it’s such a small detail, but one I greatly appreciate
Fuuko says that this group all awaken their Negator abilities in sequence, which again raises the question: WHY WAS FUUKO OKAY WITH SKIPPING 1999?!?!
I THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO BE THE TRAGEDY IN 2003 THAT SHE DIDN’T WANT TO MISS, BUT THE WAR IS HAPPENING NOW??? WAS THAT JUST AN ACCEPTABLE SACRIFICE??? WHAT HAPPENS IN ‘03 THEN??? WHAT AM I MISSING??? EXPLAIN, TOZUKA, EXPLAIN!!!
Nico again objects since all of them were once Fuuko’s enemies, but Void recognizes that, just like with him, they became her allies after they exchanged fists, so he’s absolutely on board. Fuuko clapping with joy is, again, a super cute detail, I wanna give her a little kiss on the head
To prepare for this battle, Fuuko says they need to recruit two more people: an attacker and a supporter. I’m not really sure who she means, but I’ve got a couple of guesses. The attacker could be Andy, but I think it’s more likely that it’s Feng since we’ve already established that they have some kind of connection. I think this might be around the time that Feng was training Shen, so...maybe Shen’s the supporter?
Yusai would also be a good supporter since she should already have Undraw given that this is around the time that Andy was supposed to have trained with her, and that would give us more members of Under. I think bringing Feng and Yusai together now would work really well for that, but it’s also possible that we’ll get Isshin and have her create armor for the group
Or maybe I’m misreading it and she’s saying that she’s planning to recruit Tella as support and Creed as an attacker for stopping the war, not for recruiting the Under crew? I don’t think that’s it, but I’ve been known to misinterpret things in the past
Also, that little imagination spot with all of them in combat gear? Whoowee, Fuuko looks good. Everyone else looks pretty badass, but Fuuko...damn...she’s really got the whole package, doesn’t she? Cute, funny, hot, a bit crazy at times, what more could you want?
And boy, there sure were a lot of two-pagers this chapter, huh? There were FIVE! That might not sound like a lot, but I think most manga only do one or two per chapter if any, and this one was giving them out like candy! And all of them were pretty heavy hitter, too. Like I said the other day, Tozuka really knows how to sell a moment
God damn, I’m loving Loop 101. I was so worried it was going to just be a montage of Fuuko talking to everyone or smacking them with Remember, but it’s been so rich with character and plot. It’s really blowing every other previous arc out of the water, and that’s a really high bar in my mind. I can’t wait to see what happens in this Negator War! See y’all next week!!!

The tournament continues and some new developments arise...
——
The next week and a half blazed by. There was a lot on Neil’s mind but with the influx of games and trainings, there was hardly time to think about anything else. When he wasn’t playing Exy, he and Kevin were monitoring Andrew. Since that revelation that his hand was, in fact, not fine, they had to really pay close attention so that Andrew didn’t try to do something noble.
And Neil hated to admit it, but they were a bit worse off without him. Yes, Dermott was an incredible keeper but with their rivals, something about Andrew Minyard’s name brought a different level of fear. He was not only great at Exy, but he had the bad boy reputation that had other strikers running away. Still, they managed an excellent game against Malaysia, completely smashing them, while then narrowly squeaking by Ghana. Through it all, Andrew had dutifully stayed on the sidelines, remaining quiet as he soaked his hand in ice.
The Ghana game had invigorated Kevin, to put it politely but really, it had made him even more crazy. The confidence Kevin had gained after seeing their team play well in the first couple games had quickly evaporated. It wasn’t now that there wasn’t team cohesion, it was now the scary reality that they could possibly not be good enough. His monitoring of Andrew’s recovery had become near obsession, reading into any opportunities or possibilities to speed up the healing. With everyone else, he was just plain annoying. Because of that, Neil was stuck doing cone weaves at 11pm at night in the empty court.
“You’re still touching that third cone and your time is getting slower and slower,” Kevin barked, checking the running timer on his watch.
“Because I’m fucking exhausted! Honestly, I’m not seeing how this is going to help us win more games?” Neil was exhausted but he couldn’t help clapping back at drill sergeant Day.
Andrew smirked as he lazed, half asleep, on the bleacher overlooking the two of them. He ran his hand through his hair to wake himself up. It was his injured hand but over the weeks of rest, it had improved, the color back to normal and now just a simple thin white wrap over it, more for precaution sake than anything else. He had started slowly easing back into practice and Wymack had said that he could be cleared to play very soon. Maybe even a bit during the next game.
“I’m doing one more and that’s it, Kevin.” Neil announced firmly before going back to the starting position. His breathing had barely evened and his body was screaming at him to stop by way of the piercing stitch in his side.
Kevin shook his head in surrender and bounded off the start, weaving seamlessly through the cones to make the shot into the net, all in under a minute. Kevin slowed to a stop and threw him a smug look. Like come and get me. Neil growled, chasing after him. Despite the exhaustion, his competitive streak wouldn’t let him rest and he managed a near perfect sprint, the ball whizzing with a soft but satisfying thump into the back of the net. He turned to Kevin with a triumphant smile before heading over to Andrew, and more importantly, where his water was.
He slumped down onto the bench, leaning heavily onto Andrew as Neil gulped his water and mopped his forehead with his shirt sleeve.
“Having fun?” Andrew teased.
“Shut up, your friend is psychotic.”
“Oh, now it’s my friend??” Andrew mocked. “Grab your shit, let’s go. I’m ready for bed.”
——
The next day was mercifully a break before their game the following day and Neil woke with his arms and legs still pulsing from the brutal workout. Luckily, he had planned to laze around and he and the others were meeting the visiting Foxes for brunch.
Neil spread his hand out to reach for Andrew and was surprised to encounter only the smoothness of the sheets. Before he could look around, the bathroom door opened and Andrew came out, drying his hair with a small towel, while another was twisted around his waist.
“Oh, you’re up already?” Neil muttered, sleep still ringing his words. Andrew was not one for waking up early.
Andrew threw out the hand towel to snap toward Neil’s butt, a raised mountain on the otherwise smooth plane of the bed. “I was about to wake you. You were so exhausted after yesterday so I let you sleep. But we are meeting the upperclassmen in 20 min.”
Half an hour later, along with Kevin, they met Nicky and the others at this buzzy brunch place that Jorgensson of the Swedish team had told them about.
“Where’s Thea?” Dan inquired as they approached the table, standing up to greet each of them.
Kevin shrugged, “She’s doing something with Felicia today.”
They ordered quickly, with Neil’s stomach gnawing at him after the punishing energy consumption from last night. The plates on display on the other tables were a torture in itself let alone the waiters rushing by with laden trays leaving wafts of tantalizing aromas in their wake. Neil couldn’t speak much, his mouth dry and crumbly as he waited, letting Kevin field the questions from the others. Finally, after what seemed like hours, the food arrived.
Neil ordered the largest looking plate they had. Nutty brown bread, two eggs with gravlax with a side of overnight muesli, fruit and a cinnamon bun. It took several bites before he started to finally feel a bit more normal. He mentally rejoined the conversation to hear Kevin recounting their dealings with Shoto since they last saw the others.
“Shit. How do you always attract danger, Neil? Andrew, how is your hand?” Matt asked tentatively, unsure how the brooding Minyard would reply.
Andrew, who was sipping his coffee with two hands, lifted his left, flipping it back and forth to show Matt both sides. He shrugged apathetically before digging into his benedict.
Matt’s mouth became a worried line as he frowned. “Hmm.” Still, he left it. He knew better than to push Andrew when he wasn’t speaking. He turned to Neil now, eyes questioning, probing for more explanation where he knew he could get it.
Neil shrugged. “You know I like a quiet life. Nothing to do now. We just have to beat Shoto, which we were planning to do anyway. They have their own games so I wouldn’t expect any more funny business from them now. It’s been all quiet. Ichirou’s pretty much gone and promised that.”
“I’m not entirely convinced,” Dan piped up, her brow furrowed. “We’ll still keep an eye out as we go to the games but you should keep your guard up anyway.”
“You’ve met Andrew, right? When is he not vigilant?” Neil retorted snarkily hoping to allay their fears. He had seen the worried looks on the Foxes’ faces and he didn’t need to worry about anyone else. This was their fight, anyway. No need to involve the upperclassmen. It was already enough that Neil shared with them. He could manage the rest.
Nicky seemed to take his cue with a shared glance and he quickly started telling Kevin about the teams they’d seen. Renee chimed in and soon the group had turned their attention elsewhere.
Neil relaxed slightly but just barely. He could feel the raw energy emanating from his right that kept him on edge. Other than that silent acknowledgement to Matt, Andrew had stayed quiet the entire time. With every event Kevin recalled to the others, Neil could feel Andrew get angrier and angrier. Part of him felt a bit guilty for getting them into this mess but Neil knew it was the only way. And with this current deal, he felt more comfortable. Ichirou was cool and calculated. There was none of the unpredictable havoc that came with Riko. Ichirou was running an empire and had bigger fish to fry. He wouldn’t risk that for a tiny, insignificant game with a bunch of college kids.
With trepidation, Neil slid a hand over to behind Andrew’s chair. He let his hand rest gently on his back and let out a breath of relief when Andrew didn’t pull away. So he was stewing, but it was fine cause it wasn’t completely directed at Neil. He turned back to the group and let himself get swept up in the trivial conversation.
——
“Get your ass back up the court!” Andrew screamed at Neil as he tracked back to support the backliners. “Not your fucking job!”
Neil’s lungs ripped open as he pumped his legs forward, racing back to try to meet Andrew’s long volley from goal. He knew it was a mistake for a striker to go that deep but the German team were pissing him off. Their star striker, Shröder, taunted him with an obvious ever present smirk as he ran the whole team ragged. And now as he forced himself forward, to recover his position, he was livid at his own mistake. And along with it, he had Andrew berating him too in his first few minutes back on the court.
“Phweet!” The whistle blew for halftime. The bedraggled USA team trudged into the dressing room. They all collapsed into their chairs, grabbing water bottles and pieces of energy gels. They were down 5-2 and Neil was fuming, which was the only thing keeping him vertical right now.
He wasn’t ready for the Madden lecture that was coming but Coach stood in the middle, propping her foot up on the edge of a cooler, a subdued stance,  and faced the group. “What is happening out there? That is not the Team USA I know. The Germans are running circles around us. We look like amateurs…and I know we aren’t. So take a second to clear your minds and get your shit together. We have a game to win. Coach?”
Madden turned to Wymack who was leaning against the doorframe. He swept a hand through his hair and Neil could see the dark rings around his eyes. Besides worrying about the Foxes, it seemed like the pressure of international coaching was catching up to him. Neil swore a few grays had spouted on either side of his hairline since the tournament started.
He sighed, stepping into the room and spoke, more subdued than normal. “Look, I know you’re all tired. God knows I am too. But this is just the start. It’s only going to get worse. The uphill is just starting. We have a fantastic team and I’m so proud of you guys — even if we go home tomorrow. And I don’t know about you but I am not ready to go home yet. They may be bigger and faster than us but we want it more. We worked way too hard and went through too much shit to go out now. Right? Let’s do this. One game at a time. You with me?”
Neil looked around at his tired teammates. His eyes rested onto Andrew’s and then Kevin’s. He gritted his teeth determinedly. Coach was right. He wasn’t ready to leave. And they had a deal to fulfill. Thea jumped up then and started clapping and whooping in agreement from Wymack’s rousing speech. “Come on, team! You heard him! Now USA on three…”
With renewed energy, USA came sprinting out of the gates after the half. Kevin and Neil played like their lives were on the line and with some amazing starts coming from their dealers, by the end of the third quarter, they had gotten close with the score at 5-4. They were just one behind. And incredibly, Andrew had not let in a single goal and not for a lack of trying. Shröder had already broken his stick in frustration at the quick break for the final quarter.
For the fourth, Jeremy tapped in for Felicia and was unstoppable on assists. He fielded two goals through to the front line. One ball, Neil grabbed and whizzed past the ear of a stunned German player as Kevin scooped it up and whipped it into the net before the German defense could even turn their heads. The other was a low ball that Neil dropped into the bottom left where the German keeper collapsed trying to reach it. When the whistle blew, Team USA dogpiled in the middle of the court. Final score was 5-6. They had done it.
It was only Round of 16, one game, but it felt like they had won the whole thing. For Neil, coming from behind and having that cold desperation to win was even better than a complete trampling. The feeling when there was nothing left except for that all consuming need to win — Neil lived for that. He sucked in air as he lay on the ground, breathing deeply and feeling so very alive. All the repressed feelings and thoughts he had set aside came roaring back in sensory overload and Neil let it wash over him. Kevin came over and collapsed next to him, giving his arm a hearty shake in recognition.
Andrew waltzed over, hardly out of breath, with their water bottles. He sat down next to Neil who jumped on him immediately. Neil’s emotion was impossible to stop. He squeezed Andrew tightly and breathed him in. Sweat and all. It didn’t matter but they had done it. It was the three of them who had led the comeback. For him and Kevin, it was standard to put Exy above all else. They lived and breathed Exy. But Andrew, protecting the goal with his life in that last quarter from the barrage of attempts and issuing commands to the backline,  Neil was rendered speechless. He kissed the base of Andrew’s neck, right where it met his collarbone and released him, grinning.
“We fucking did it.”
The team went straight to the bar. There wouldn’t have been objections but Felicia and Thea frog-marched them like they were leading their prisoners to their death. But instead of that, it was to a night of celebrating. For that evening, there was nothing else but them. Team USA celebrating their victory that they had all dug deep for. For all the deals that Neil had to make, this feeling —to be able to play Exy and to win like this— it made everything worth it.
The celebrations lasted until 1AM when Coach Madden finally came to pull the plug. She paid the tab and had to drag them out of the bar. No one protested that much, knowing they would have practice the next morning, but still, it was sad for such a fun evening to come to an end. Kevin walked in the middle with his arms wrapped around Andrew and Neil. Andrew surprisingly hadn’t shrugged it off but allowed Kevin to touch him.
Back at the dorm, the team slowly disbanded, saying their good nights as they headed off upstairs or into the living room for a midnight snack. The three of them trudged up to their rooms at the top. Blurry-eyed, Neil noticed a dark mass coming from their room, barely discernible in the moonlit hallway. He frowned, perplexed, and nudged Andrew who eyed it too before feeling for the lightswitch on the landing. Neil stopped in his tracks and Kevin, who had been coming upstairs behind them, ran straight into Neil and almost rolled back down.
“What is it?” He said, annoyed and yawning.
A dark reddish mass extended out from under their bedroom door like slime or a radioactive spill. Tentatively, Neil approached their door and pushed it open. It felt like something was in the way. Being careful to not touch the liquid, it took all his effort to force it open with the unidentified mess squishing as it gave way. Their room was a complete wreck. The mattress was flipped and all their clothes and belongings were pulled out of the cabinets. Above the bed, in that same reddish mess was a message. Barely legible it was scrawled across the wall so thickly that it left ugly drip marks as if it was crying.
WATCH YOUR BACK.
There was no signature but the sender was apparently. Neil met Andrew’s squinting gaze and gleaned from it what didn’t need to be said.  Clearly, Shoto hadn’t backed off and clearly Neil had presumed wrongly.
Kevin drew a sharp breath and Neil’s eyes flicked off the wall and over to the corner where he stood. Their racquets had been snapped in half and their USA jerseys torn to shreds. This wasn’t the first time this had happened to Neil and the eerie familiarity brought back a flood of emotions that had since been dormant. The temporary feeling of respite after Riko washed away as quickly as it had come like a tide onto a shore.
“Fuck. They got your racquet.” Kevin held it up to demonstrate the severity of its damage.
Wymack knocked and entered behind them. “Shit. What happened here? Are you ok, boys? Ryan saw the damage and came and got me. What the fuck is happening now?”
There was a quick shared glance before Neil quickly outlined the events from the past couple weeks.
“I’ll talk to Sam and see where we can quickly rustle up some more gear. In the meantime, I should talk to the tournament officials. This is nuts. Completely unacceptable.”
“No, don’t,” Neil interjected, quickly. “There is no actual proof against Shoto and that will just let them know that we were rattled. I’m going to call Ichirou.” At that point, Andrew growled low in his throat.
Throwing up his hands, Wymack sighed. “OK, I give up. Neil, I always trust you but you come to me if you need to.” More gently, he added, “You know you don’t have to do this alone anymore. You have us.” Coach gestured around to Kevin who nodded furiously, his face still white as a sheet.
Neil acknowledged his words with a glance. He didn't quite know how to explain to Wymack that he knew that. It was still new to him but already, this was him trusting and confiding in others. It wasn’t perfect, but he was getting there.
“Alright, I’ll go. Meet me in the morning so we can try to figure out the racquets. I think there is an Exy store not far from here. For now, go ahead and take the spare room on the girls’ floor. There should already be sheets and stuff in there.”
Kevin hastily followed Wymack out as well, mumbling an excuse to catch Thea up. Neil and Andrew were left in the violently red room alone.
“Well? Just say it.”
Andrew shrugged. “Nothing to say.”
Neil’s eyes raked over his face and didn’t see any smug look. He knew this was on himself for thinking that Shoto would cool off during the tournament. He had to talk to Ichirou. Neil found some untouched sweats for him and Andrew in one of the lower drawers and they took their salvaged things to the empty room one floor down. It was too late to clean anything now. The new room was very small and instead of two twin beds, it had a wall with bunk beds. After getting cleaned up, Neil sat down on the lower bunk. Andrew stood next to the bed, smoking out of the window.
“Ok, I’m going to do it now.” With a shaking hand, Neil scrolled down to the text that Ichirou had sent him after their last call confirming his number.
We need to talk.
WIthin seconds, the unknown number rang on his phone. Neil answered, putting it on speaker for Andrew to hear.
“Neil Josten. I was wondering when I’d hear from you.”
“Why? Because you know that Shoto fucked with us?” Neil couldn’t help bring out a scathing tone despite knowing he was talking to a powerful crime boss.
“Well, Neil. Here is your first adult lesson. Nothing is binding unless stipulated.” Ichirou let out a little laugh.
“We had a deal.”
“A deal is just a promise until something more suitable comes along.”
Ichirou’s explanation came out menacing with a touch of a smirk that even Neil could hear precisely through the phone. “So really, I should be thanking you. After we last spoke, I actually had a call from the young Ishikawa. Our agreement prompted him into action. Turns out he hates his family.”
Moriyama went on to explain that Shoto had cut a deal —an even more valuable one to him— than the one he had made with Neil. Shoto was going to hand over his family empire to the Moriyamas in exchange for keeping the JEA in his pocket and letting him play Exy as he saw fit. Apparently, that included fucking with team USA.
Andrew threw his cigarette butt in the empty can he used and came to sit back down next to Neil. He braced the back of Neil’s neck, perhaps knowing that Neil was about to jump down the end of the phone and strangle Ichirou himself.
“So that’s it then? The deal is over?”
“I’m sorry, Neil Josten. Business is business. You must understand that this is so much easier for me. I get the Ishikawa business on a silver platter and I don’t even have to get my hands dirty. The deal with you didn’t have any strict binding so here we are.”
Neil was halfway between overwhelming nausea and the urge to throttle someone. He tried to speak but the words caught in his throat and a garbled noise was the only thing that came out.
“It’s not personal. As I said, it’s just business. Well, if there is nothing else?”
Neil clicked the phone without another word and hurled it to the floor. In the small space, it crashed quickly into the wall, miraculously unbroken. “FUCK!” He screamed out loud.
“This is what we get for getting into bed with a fucking criminal,” Neil’s chest heaved as he continued to fume. He stood up, trying to pace in the tiny room.
“Look, Neil. I didn’t agree with you to begin with but it’s better this way. We now know where we stand. You were a fool to trust him.”
“I don’t need you lording that over me right now. I know,” Neil spat.
Andrew stood up and braced Neil with his hands on his shoulders. ‘Look at me. It’s not the best situation but it’s where we are at. Get your head on straight. First, we have the next game to win. Then, we can focus on our plan.”
With a raised eyebrow from Neil, Andrew continued. “Yes, a plan. Those bastards won’t get away with it. And right now, I am so fucking tired of the Moriyamas. We can’t rest otherwise.”
Neil’s raised brow turned into a perplexed expression as he waited for Andrew to clarify.
“I’m saying, let’s take down the whole damn thing.”

Ukrainians turn a Russian Su-30SM hunted into souvenir keychains
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 11/14/2022 - 21:32 in Military, War Zones
Ukrainians seeking to help their Armed Forces are doing crowdfunding, selling a Russian Su-30SM Flanker-H fighter slaughtered as souvenir keychains.
The team of aviation enthusiasts of Fuselage Creations is picking up the wreckage of the latest Russian fighter and turning it into key chains. They then sell these keychains all over the world and use that money to finance the purchase of equipment for the Ukrainian armed forces.
Tumblr media
In a message posted on Facebook, Fuselage Creations said that "the result of the failed mission of 'recognition - bombing' is -1 Flanker in the Russian air force, not the last one killed nor the last one we are going to offer".
Tumblr media
The modern aircraft that was shot down is a two-seat Russian Su-30SM tactical bomber that the Ukrainian military says he knocked down in Mykolaiv Oblast. It is a rare aircraft attributed to the Russian Navy, with the tail number RF-33787, the call sign "45 Blue" and manufactured by Irkut.

According to some reports, such as one of TASS, the Su-30SM, with a mark value of $47 million, is a super maneuverable two-seat fighter, for all climates, of 4++ generation derived from the successful Indian Su-30MKI and the Su-30MKM of Malaysia, which began to be delivered to Russian Forces in 2013.
The Russian-made Su-30SM is developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau mainly for the Russian Air Force and Navy. It is an advanced model of the Su-30MK combat aircraft series. In addition to Kazakhstan and Russia, the armed forces of Algeria, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Uganda, Venezuela and Vietnam have Su-30MK series aircraft.

Perayaan HPN Berlangsung 20 Februari 2024
Tumblr media
(Rls) Read the full article
