FLORIBETH DALISAY (@floripire) said "let me try for a second."

The door is locked from the other side, and Rahne fruitlessly slams her shoulder against the steel a final time with a frustrated, pained grunt. The bullet that shredded through her bicep was still inside her, but they didn't have time to worry about that now. The small mob of anti-mutant men that are on hot on their heels sound closer.

'Let me try for a second.'

She knows that Flori is just trying to help, but everything is too loud and the Wolf demands its turn to speak. She focuses on the scrap of lead in her shoulder, leaning into the pain to block out the primal urge to let the Wolf come forward. Transforming now would only exacerbate their problems, because said door leads out into the streets, and a half-wolf, half-girl monstrosity does not lend itself to slipping away in a crowd.

Her head whips toward the vampire mutant, her eyes blazing gold as she struggles to maintain control. She smells Wrong, like blood and there's something in Rahne that wants to shred her to pieces but she bites down on that impulse. "Fine, you try," she growls, an unfamiliar timbre resonating deep in her chest. Her arm aches and her head feels a little faint as blood continues to drip down her fingers.

"Get us out of here and I know how to get back underground."
