I kind of wish Mashima took a bit more inspiration from something like this for Natsu’s return in X792. He only had long hair and a huge cloak, and both returned to its default designs after Cancer made a cameo (a horrible decision, really). This is incredibly cool, and actually looks like Natsu went wandering for a while for a journey of self-discovery.

Chapter 142: "The Promise Made 1,000 Years Ago, Part 2"

Hearing about Leuvis and how he's causing some massive damage is truly frightening and definitely what I should be focusing on right now.. and yet here I am completely enamored by the Ray ancestor and his fancy ponytail.

Julius wishes there to be no more sacrifices.. by sacrificing others. I'm not quite sure you're understanding your logic, sir. I know he cares about not losing any more of his own men and comrades, but a whole lot of innocent lives will suffer instead as a result.

Not only did Ray's ancestor passed down his logical mind and handsome looks, but also his tragic backstory. Okay, well.. there's no such thing as a decent backstory in this series, but his comments just remind me a bunch about all the siblings Ray lost while at GF along with the bunker dads.

I know Norman has his own ancestor, but the moment here between Julius & Emma's ancestor sounds so much like the argument in ch153 when Emma is trying to "save" Norman.

Not that I wanna compare Isabella and Julius in any way, but it would've been hilarious to me if he countered with a "Yes. Isn't it obvious?" like she did to Peter in ch170. Even without that, it's kinda like the Ratris get the tables turned on them with who is getting betrayed.

It's amazing how strongly I despise this man when he's only in the story for two chapters.

I always felt like offering up the best food was such an easy thing for the demons to give up, compared to the rewards the humans (both Julius & Emma) have to settle with. Yverk is still able to eat high quality food, with him being a royal, so it doesn't seem like that big of a loss to me.

I also take great joy of seeing the demon god laugh at Julius' expense. It is a harsh role, but Julius was so adamant about putting this deal into place for the sake of humans and now he gets to witness them suffer over and over and over again. So, unfortunate for everyone else yes, but I strangely don't feel sorry for him individually. This is why you don't betray your friends.

Sigh, when demon god says it like that, it seems so obvious what reward He will ask of Emma, doesn't it?

Nothing is more important to this girl than her own family, but when she words the promise like this, ya think everything is gonna be all fine and well. If everyone crosses over to the human world and no one can return to the demon world, then they'll all be safe, right?

WRONG! This little bastard knows exactly how to find a loophole and get exactly what he wants regardless and I hate that stupid, unseeable smirk on His face.

it was an alright episode, nothing really to note, I do be liking the voice acting tho (for the most part)

Jigokuraku Ep4

I was right it was very good, takarie going off fr this season with yuzuriha, the megumin spinoff and hoshino ai too

the quality of the anime is still consistent which is good, gabimaru did some cool flashy stuff, tho it annoyed me that the panel with genryuusai's peeled face was only a handful of frames cause it felt like it had a lot more impact in the manga, but I know I'm gonna have to get used to that since it's an anime and all that

Pokemon Horizons Ep3

nothing crazy but still a very nice episode, like I said next time, it just feels like a breath of fresh air to not have ash around, it feels like the anime isn't shackled anymore to the gyms -> championship formula and it can start exploring more stuff. roy is joining the cast next week so I hope he isn't annoying. also I thought it was strange the anime was set in kanto since this is the gen 9 anime but they ARE going to paldea so that's good

Another heartbreaking parallel with Erza. 

“There hasn’t been a day when I’ve forgotten you” is exactly what Erza said to Sho and Simon back at the tower, and it referred to Jellal too. Erza also told Jellal that he wasn’t allowed to forget his sins, because that’s not acceptable. 

Erza hasn’t forgiven Jellal yet at this point. Wendy never held a grudge on Mystogan for leaving her behind. And yet, in this moment, the only one that will get any satisfaction and fulfillment with their ‘Jellal’ is Erza. 

It’s kind of tragic that Jellal forced Erza to never forget him with her trauma, but Mystogan tried his best to make Wendy forget about him. 

Jellal and Erza’s story is the one that has a happy ending, but Wendy and Mystogan’s will remain severed, because Edolas couldn’t bring justice to this incredible amount of buildup.

182 Days of TPN - Day 90

Chapter 90: “Let’s Win”

I know it’s impossible to tell since Leuvis doesn’t have visible ears, but I can assume that he’s trying very hard to locate where the group disappeared to by sound since the method of putting your hands up to your ear is something we’ve seen Emma do quite a lot of post-escape.

Seeing Emma just toss aside any idea she isn’t fond of with a big “No” always gets a chuckle outta me. Whether it’s trying to get Yuugo to be more friendly in ch64 or completely shutting down Norman’s idea of demon annihilation in ch153, y’all are better off just listening to the story’s mc.

It’s fun seeing Emma give orders too. And I dunno how to explain it but I like how the first Emma and the scared Nigel are drawn.

I also love how Ray stays quiet throughout this whole discussion. He’s already set on following Emma’s plan (once she thinks of one) and knows that her ideals are normally correct. It’s only a matter of time before the other two realize it as well.

After losing Norman, there’s no way in hell she’s gonna make that same mistake twice. It’s great that she admits she’s indeed scared of Leuvis (I mean, who wouldn’t be, honestly?) but still strives to win the battle her way, no matter the danger.

There’s a short video of Erica Mendez (Emma’s dub va) reading this page and I can’t tell you how many emotions it makes me feel now since the anime denied us of this arc and we won’t ever actually hear or see any of it.

You can always count on Ray to approach things logically.

This brief moment where Palvus is watching and staring at them is probably funnier than it should be. And I’m once again asking permission for my boy to curse just once.

Oliver mentioned in ch88 how we’d have the advantage indoors due to the narrow space space and he is 100% correct. Look at this dude, he has to crouch so far down to even remain slightly standing.

Always enjoyed this little parkour moment of Ray jumping over the table.

Favorite panel/moment:

The entirety of Yuugo calling Emma by her name for the first time, starting off with how he reluctantly agrees to stay and fight instead of run away, with the small whack he gives her. Poor girl wasn’t expecting that kind of response or the fairly long nickname, but it’s quite special for the last time we’re gonna hear such a thing.

The very moment itself!! along with the slight pause it takes Emma to even register what he said and the big smile on her face one she realizes it. Even Ray is caught off guard!

The way she does not even hesitate to ask him his in return and Yuugo trying so hard to drop the subject all together. You can’t take back what you said buddy, like it or not, you’re friends now!

Luckily he keeps this promise to her too, even waiting til after she wakes up once back in the shelter. This smile of hers right here has gotta be one of my favorite panels of her.. it’s dazzling enough to fill me with much happiness!
