Constantly thinking about the tiny snippets we've had of Dad Alberich, and the vibe it's given me of a man entirely dedicated to a family duty/mission/obsession to the detriment of every other aspect of life including showing affection to his kid. Thinking of a parent raising a kid high on expectation and low on praise, and only awkward occasional moments trying to show them pride and affection.
And how point for point similar this is to my headcanons of Fredrica, to the point where tiny Kaeya may straight up have felt deja vu on meeting her. And the points of commonality this gives him with Jean, as two kids wanting so badly to please a (nearly) unpleasable parent. And points of difference, aa Kaeya has likely broken the family duty in a way Jean could never bring herself to.
This lives in my brain rent free and I cannot believe they have likely never talked about this at all.

Rust: There is no future. There is no past. Do you see? Time is simultaneous, an intricately structured jewel that humans insist on viewing one edge at a time, when the whole design is visible in every facet.
