❥  LEAH COHEN  ❥
Tumblr media
34 Years Old, female, bisexual, made of class, current (kinda) stepmom, former trophy wife, recent widow, public figure
Leah was born to a pediatrician and a very bored stay at home mom. though she and her brother, Seth both turned out rather attractive, Leah realized early on that she had a certain power
that power in her looks often got her unwarranted affection, so she taught herself how to use it as a tool. no one could use it against her if she was the one that was wielding it, Leah reasoned. and it worked.
she pretended at school that she couldn’t care less, but got straight a’s every semester and was almost valedictorian. part of it was because Leah genuinely liked being a good student and everything that came with the smarts, and the other is that she knew she wanted to marry rich. and marrying rich was a lot easier if you went to an ivy league.
she got in, of course - Leah has and always will be extremely driven in getting what she wanted - and decided to go to brown. she chose business management as a degree, and kept her eyes constantly peeled for someone who was going to net her the life she wanted and felt she so richly deserved.
luckily for her, one fell into her feet. and an alumni event her senior year, one of Leah’s favorite teachers introduced her to a former alumni and current ceo of a million dollar jewelry company that showed no signs of stopping its rise. she didn’t care that his son was only a year older than her, when she found out later, and that he’d not even been divorced a year. they were engaged a year after her graduation.
cut to ten years later, Leah is happy. mostly. the wealth that she’s constantly surrounded in and the money she gets to freely spend, but she knows her husband is cheating. she also know that his kids still mostly dislike her, she still thanked her lucky stars that there hadn’t been a prenup, and she was desperate to feel wanted again. to feel like a real person.
the night that she decided to throw caution to the wind and make a move on an old friend, fate struck in her life once more. while out driving late from a visit with another woman, Leah’s husband suffered a heart attack while at the wheel, running into a tree. he was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital, and incident that, despite how it looked, Leah had truly nothing to do with.
when the will got read, 80% of her husbands assets were inherited by Leah. she was beyond rich, and his two kids from his previous marriage were beyond furious as they wanted it divided equally. in a better world, Leah might’ve acquiesced. in this one, she gave them the house and half of his luxury car collection, and an extra million each. then she left for someplace that would make her happy, and left her old life behind.
TIDBITS
Leah’s selfish, honestly you can’t talk around it, but she can be generous if she really cares about a person. Her walls aren’t really sky high, but she is highly skeptical. she’s felt defensive most of her life, bullied mercilessly before she grew into her gangly form, and she doesn’t trust peoples intentions.
she would swear to anyones face that her coffee maker was the one true love of her life. that, and her heel collection.
she was always rather odd in that her favorite places to visit were always cold, like alaska, russia, greenland. that’s part of why she moved to klover, so she could spend inordinate of time at Klover’s luxury ski resort. Leah truly owns the roost there.
she struggles a little to make friends, but once you are her friend you are for life unless you try seriously hard to mess it up.
her relationship with her step kids is rocky to say the least, but she does get along with the youngest. the lack of prejudice in their relationship really made them close, and Leah still sends Vanessa presents every month, and has ensured that she’ll always be taken care of. the other two, one a year older than Leah, generally nice but nasty to her, and a daughter that threw herself into corporate law and pretended she didn’t existed - Leah didn’t think their relationship would ever change.
she’s kept her married name, out of comfort more than anything else. she still loves her parents very much and calls them once a month.
her favorite color is burning, crimson red.
she could’ve been a black widow, but Leah would’ve never had the stomach for that sort of thing.
Leah truly wants to find a real connection, but has kind of given up on finding out.
