The House At The Edge Of The World Ch. 14
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/N is the owner of an Airbnb at the edge of the world, a place in which Wanda would either heal or become what everyone is afraid of.
Pairings: Wanda Maximoff/SW! x Female!Reader
Warnings: Minors DNI! +18, angst, jealousy, drama, slow burn, hurt and comfort, friends to lovers, pregnancy, romance, fluff, mentions of depression and self harm, healing, R owns an Airbnb that welcomes many known characters from Marvel, R has powers, Wanda needs healing, and so does R, R sometimes is an asshole but for a good reason. More warnings as the story progress.
Author's Note: The story follows up the events of Wandavision right before the twins birth. Since I didn't like the fact Natasha died in Endgame, she is alive as well as Tony everything else just happens the same way it does in the movies. We will see some Eternals and mentions of all the new members of the cinematic MCU.
The end looks like a good conversation, and decisions to be made. R is ready to do so, but will Wanda want to stay with her?
English is no my mother tongue so I do apologize for any grammar, spelling or funny mistake.

Chapter 14
Stay with me
Whatever had happened after you left, you didn't care.
Your main priority had been Wanda, and all through the flight you and Ajak had been tending to her injuries and her general state. Yelena had been observing from afar, but her eyes never left your form while you worked on the redhead. She had known about your power, about the strangeness behind your family and the world surrounding you. Yet Yelena never imagined she would fear the power hidden inside you.
The gate of the Quinjet opened to show the image of a dark-haired woman with fair skin and kind features. She locked eyes with you almost instantly, your heart leaped at the sight of Sersi coming over to you to wrap her arms around you.
"Y/N, are you okay? How is Wanda?" Sersei asked looking behind you to see the redhead woman still unconscious being carried on a stretcher.
"She is still unconscious. Her magic has been greatly affected by the device they use on her." You were trying to hide your real emotions, your eyes never leaning those of Sersei who merely offered a comforting smile.
"Well, she is in luck, right? Ajak and I are here, and you will be there as well." Sersi stepped back, turning to Sprite who was coming onto her with the same concern written in her face.
"Sersei!"
"Hey, Sprite, how is it going?"
The conversation between them faded away while you let your feet take you inside the house and followed the women leading Wanda to the closest room. You could see as they settled her down making sure she was comfortable before setting the medical bay for the redhead.
"Her nervous system has been affected by the electric shocks." Ajak said to your right, she stood there overseeing everything while never losing sight of your persona. "She was sedated so it will take a while for her to wake up."
"She needs magic, and…"
"I know." Ajak placed a hand on your forearm, the tenderness behind her gesture almost made you break. "It's going to be okay, she is far stronger than you gave credit for."
You crossed your arms, tilting your head to the side. It wasn't as if you didn't know how strong Wanda was, you have known for a long time. It was more the fact that you feared what would happen when she woke up.
Would she stay?
Would she leave?
So many questions roamed inside your mind, and the uncertainty of the situation was almost unbearable. Never in your wildest dreams did you imagine you would fall in love again. Much less with a woman that, by all accounts, was just like you.
"They will come, and they will have questions." Ajak intervened again, you didn't need to ask who she was referring to. "Are you ready for that conversation?"
"Are you?" This time around you did face Ajak with an unreadable expression. "I could lie and get away with it."
Ajak softened her features by nodding at Wanda, "but you won't lie for her, or else, whatever chance you get to be together may slip away."
You opened your eyes, raising your eyebrows at this. Following Ajak's stare you realised Wanda had changed a lot of things in a bubble world you had built around yourself. You were not a hero, you never were, but you couldn't ignore the world any longer… you couldn't ignore the world Wanda was living in.
"Think your words carefully, and be ready."
"What about you and the others?" Your secret might be out, but the rest of the Eternal should keep their own secrets for themselves.
"We are family, Y/N, whatever you decide we are here for you."
Ajak gave your forearm a light squeeze before turning around and leaving you alone with Wanda. You hesitated before stepping forward and sitting beside her, your hand found hers and the warmness of her touch brought comfort to your soul.
______________________________________________________________
Night had already fallen by the time you exited her room.
Wanda was still asleep, and during all that time people had come and gone after making sure the redhead was not in danger and that her recovery was a matter of time.
You knew the meeting with the people who had come to her rescue could not be postponed any longer. Wanda had on her peaceful expression, her magic was still flickering and and out of reality, and the pain in your heart was a longing for her to be better, for her to put you out of your misery.
With a kiss to her forehead, you knew there was nothing else you could do. Not until she woke up, and not until you had spoken with everyone.
It was time for you to face the world.
The noise coming from the study told you where you should go. It wasn't difficult to find everyone waiting for you, the many faces you had known personally or by the TV news were all staring at you.
The first person you noticed was Sersi, her tender smile warmed your heart giving you strength to enter the room. To your left were the people you had called family since you were a teenager Ajak and Sprite sat comfortably on the sofa with Thena and Gil hovering behind them. To your right were the women you had helped at some point, friends and people you had trusted with some secrets but not all of them.
Natasha and Yelena wore their Widow garments, with Nick Fury and Tony Stark wearing casual clothing that hide the real power both of them possess.
"She is still asleep." Your words echoed into the room, your eyes falling upon Ajak. "Her strength is coming back, and her magic is not as erratic as it was a couple of hours ago."
"Erratic?" Tony asked, leaning back, his posture relaxed and open. "What do you know about that? More importantly, who are you besides a dirty secret from Romanoff over here?"
Natasha growled at the man, but her eyes were just as curious as those of Yelena. They thought they had known you, but after what you did on that island they were not so sure anymore.
"I'm Y/N, and I'm merely the owner of a destroyed Airbnb." You shrugged, cracking up a smile. "That's gonna cost you an extra, you know that, Mr. Stark?"
Tony returned the smile, "I'm aware. Though I would say you already got a good deal out of this mess, Maximoff seems to be very fond of you, from what I heard."
The comment made your eyes flickered gold, a hand placed itself on your shoulder and you knew Sersi had come to the rescue.
"I pride myself to be well-informed of what is happening around the world, and who are the people I should watch out for." This time around it was Fury the one to speak, he placed his elbows on his knees, his hands wrapping around one another and his sole eye pinning you to the spot.
" You and your friends were certainly a surprise for me today."
"That made you nervous, Agent Fury?" You retorted eyeing the man with a blank stare. "We've met before, you know?"
This time around Fury was shocked by the news, he narrowed one eye as if trying to place you in his memory. You chuckled tilting your head.
"You won't remember me, I was different back then and you were just being recruited into the secret organisation that works for your government."
"How…" Fury started but trailed off when Sprite created a scene right in front of them.
A young Nick Fury with both eyes, talking with a man that looked nothing extraordinary. Yet they exchanged words, a handshake and soon Fury had a piece of paper. That was it, they both parted ways, Fury went straight to what seemed like an office building, the other man went inside an old car and drove away.
"What were you doing there?"
You smiled, "I was following him, and old debt to settle. He was the son of a friend, I was making sure he was not killed that day."
"He died, though." Fury stated narrowing his good eye at you.
A flash of sadness crossed your face at the memory.
"He did. I couldn't make it on time. And, at the end of the day, I am not a hero." You leaned back glancing at Fury then at Tony. "I am a mere owner of an Airbnb at the edge of the world."
Silence settled around the living room for a moment, you could see the observant eyes of the heroes of the world observing you and your family. For the very first time in a very long time, your world and the real one crashed in a single moment in time.
You could see the possibilities forming in the mind of Fury, the questions pouring from Stark's mind and the many unsaid things you had between Natasha and Yelena.
At the end of the day, she was the first one to speak. Her tone revealed how hurt she was for the situation, her eyes never leaving yours.
"You never told me you were this…" Yelena trailed off for a moment, her gaze dropping. "This powerful."
"Y/N powers are not something you play with." Thena said, settling her eyes on Yelena. "None of you had seen what they can really do, and it is something Y/N have always been careful with."
"Having powers doesn't mean you have to put them to work for the greater good." Gil continued lifting his chin. "The world can be an ungrateful place."
"That's true." Natasha chimed in uncrossing her arms. "But sometimes, it needs to be saved either way."
"You guys are young." You said shrugging. "The world, people… Some of them will never change. I fight only for my loved ones, Natasha. As long as my family and friends are fine, I am fine."
"Which will explain why you came to the rescue, right?" Tony intervened tilting his head and settling his eyes on you. "You love Wanda, you couldn't allow her to get hurt."
"I do, yes." You replied simply, Tony nodded leaning back on the chair.
"Are you a threat?" The man asked and you couldn't help but laugh at his bluntness.
"Oh, I am." You replied, your eyes gleaming a dangerous shade of gold. "I can be your worst nightmare and none of you would know what happened or how it happened."
"But you are not interested in fighting us." Fury didn't even flinch, his words were just as neutral as yours had been a moment ago.
"Or protecting you, no."
"At some point the world would come crashing down on you, don't you think?"
You turned your head to Ajak, the older woman offered a single smile matching the one Sersi and Thena were wearing. You knew the world, the real one had come to you in the form of Wanda Maximoff. She had broken the icy facade you had worn for so long, that right now it was almost impossible for you that her world was starting to be a part of yours.
"It already has, Fury." You sighed, lifting your eyes to the ceiling. "I am not a threat to you or your government. I'm not interested in power or fighting, I only want peace."
"And Wanda." Tony mentioned with a teasing tone.
You flared at him looking away until you saw the same teasing glint in Natasha's eyes.
"I guess, we will see."
Fury nodded, crossing his arms, "I guess we will."
"Well, now that the conversation is over, how about something to drink and eat. I bet everyone is hungry."
Ajak stood up with many agreeing to her sudden change of topic, you sat there for a moment watching as Ajak left the living room with Fury and Tony following them and everyone soon scattering around the house.
Yelena came to you slowly, she sat down with a frown on her face trying to catch up to what she just heard, to the things she had seen.
"I'm sorry, Lena. It was never my intention to make you feel…"
"Cheated?" Lena snorted, shrugging. "I knew there was something else about you, but you had never raised any bells in my head or Natasha's… We knew you were not a threat."
You smiled at the young woman leaning over placing your elbows on your knees.
"I never intended for this to happen." You lowered your head thinking hard over the last couple of months. "But she… I
I don't know…"
Yelena swallowed down her emotions, she nodded curtly placing her hand on yours.
"If she hurts you, I'm gonna kill her."
You couldn't help the laughter leaving your lips, your arms wrapping around the young woman with tenderness. For some reason, you knew she and you would be okay, and whatever had happened with the rest of Earth's Mighty heroes… Well, that also seemed to be okay.
Now, all you had to do was wait for Wanda to wake up.
______________________________________________________________
It happened at dawn.
The world was sleeping, the sky was changing its colours with shades of blue, purple and red igniting the horizon. There was a cold breeze biting at your skin, sitting by the balcony you had allowed time and weather to invade your thoughts and insecurities while trying to forget what you feel.
The soft footsteps brought you back to reality. Your heart beat fast, hitting your ribcage the moment you sensed her and your eyes found those of hers.
"Hey." She didn't rush her feet, her dopey and tenderness made you gasp in affection.
Standing up from your position, your hands wrapped around her, putting her against your body and feeling at peace knowing she was there. That she was okay.
"You shouldn't be up, love." You whispered, her hands playing with your hair while you felt her smile against your neck.
"You weren't there." Her words were tender, a mere whisper in your ear that told you of her doubts. “And I thought…I don’t want to lose you.”
“You won’t lose me, Wanda. I’m here.” And you meant it in more ways than one, you made sure to look at her the wounds on her neck, the ones on her wrists and then her tired expression.
You almost lost her.
And your heart broke into a million pieces thinking you wouldn’t be with her anymore. And now that she was back, that she was in your arms, the fear had doubled. What would happen if she didn’t want to stay? What if she had to go?
Wanda softened her stare, she didn’t need to hear your thoughts because those same thoughts were inside her head. Being with you had been so different, falling in love with you had been…what she needed.
“You won’t lose me either, Y/N. I’m here…for you.”
At that moment you realised she wasn't the only one feeling the uncertainty the recent events had brought to your lives. It took you but a second to notice her lips against yours, the neediness behind her gesture, her hands travelling down your body.
The flash of crimson told you Wanda ws not alone, and soon you were being dragged inside the house and you gave in knowing that moment could end up in a heartbreak.
By the time you woke up again, the clock on the table was showing it was past midday. The warm body to your side stirred, you lowered your faze to see Wanda snuggled against your side with a content smile playing on her lips.
She was awake, and probably had been for quite some time. The place was completely silent, and you couldn't even make the sound of people outside the room.
"Everyone went to visit the town." Wanda mumbled without opening her eyes. "It's only you and me."
As soon as she said this, her body trembled and her hands grabbed you tightly. You sighed looking at the ceiling, the arm you had around her midsection wrapped tightly around her.
"So, it's only you and me in a big empty house? Whatever can we do?"
Her giggles made you look down and find her green eyes looking at you. You smiled back but your eyes were finally showing how you were feeling with the whole situation. Wanda tensed lightly, turning around she sat down letting the blankets fall to the bed.
"I think we should get ready."
"I think we need to talk."
You watched as she merely stood up and left, the emptiness in your chest made your body ache with longing. Tilting your head to one side, you knew that falling into bed with her had not been the best of decisions when there was so much left unsaid between the both of you.
"I made you something to eat, and there was some orange juice and some wine but I wasn't sure what you may want so early…"
You observed the redhead walking around the kitchen, babbling non-stop while evading your eyes and trying to make it impossible for you to bring the white elephant in the room.
Wanda gasped, halting her actions, finding herself looking into your golden eyes.
"Y/N…" Wanda whispered your name with fear and longing.
"I am in love with you." You all but whisper, your left hand cupping her cheek but you never did anything to shorten the distance with her. "I thought I would never feel this again, and you came into my life showing me this was possible… That I could feel like this again…"
Wanda's eyes watered at your words, she was trembling by now with her lower lip quivering under the weight of your words.
"Wanda, I…"
"I'm sorry." Wanda whispered with a sob escaping her lips.
She leaned in hiding her face on your chest, something inside broke for you knew her life was out there in a world filled with danger and heroism that you were not ready to be a part of. Whatever you could offer to Wanda was a life of tranquillity and solitude in a place that was almost forgotten to the rest of the world.
It hurt knowing you would lose her.
"I couldn't… I tried… I just…" Wanda cried softly, holding onto you. "He… He was there… And I just…"
"It's okay, it's okay… I know." You whispered, hugging her comfortingly.
"No! No, it's not." Wanda finally said, she stepped back wiping her face. "I should have seen it, I could have prevented it… but I left him there, I thought…"
"Stark recovered his body, and he won't be used anymore." You commented softly. Wanda shook her head but you didn't stop there.
"They were waiting for you to recover, but as soon as you're fine you can go back…"
Wanda stopped her passing, she winced at the memories coming into her; she placed a hand on her face while trying to collect her thoughts and you couldn’t help but close your mouth and remained silent watching her without knowing what to say. Or what to do.
“I thought Vision was my everything.” Wanda tried to hold onto her tone of voice, her eyes completely lost in the memories and the situation she had evaded moments before she was taken from the Hill.
Wanda remembered the time she had been tied to that room, her eyes seeing the dead body of Vision while she thought of her life in the most recent months. She had been happy, not having to fill out anybody's shoes, or trying to hold herself for fear of triggering someone, or messing up while trying to help someone. Wanda and Scarlet had gone through her memories and her past, and everytime she thought about the end well…
It all came down to Y/N, to her smile and the warmness behind her words. I never thought love would feel like this…
And if she was honest with herself, Wanda never thought it would be like that; the young woman dried her tears while her lips broke into a tentative smile she dedicated to you. You didn’t dare to dream about her thoughts or her choices, waiting too much about the people around you could be painful at the end of the day.
“Then you came into my life and…” Wanda shook her head putting her arms around herself while biting her lower lip. “And I found myself falling so hard, and so deep for you…I know…I know it would be impossible for me to live away from you.”
“Wanda…”
The fact that the home was empty, and that this conversation happened right after you and her had shared a dawn filled with passion and tenderness should be the indicator this was going through the right track. But you didn’t dare to hope, a lot of things had happened in the past for you to think this could be different.
The young woman came onto you, and your world stopped for a moment when she cupped your face in her hands with her lips curving slightly. At that moment, it was Wanda and Scarlet all in one sending you a stare that made your soul tremble in a way you hadn’t done for so long.
“Everybody is waiting for me to go back, to be better to…” Wanda trailed off for a moment, her eyes flashing with the memories of how her life had been up until that point. “When I had to come here I was mad, and sad and ready to leave everything for a glimpse of normality, to recover a life I never really had but dreamt of.”
“And now? What do you want, Wanda?” You finally asked in a whisper, Wanda turned to you and you realised you hadn’t been this vulnerable in front of anyone in a while.
“Now, I want a normal life…I’m tired of what am I and what I can do I only want…” Wanda bit her lower lip, a flash of fear crossing her green eyes. Your hand placed tenderly under her chin lifting her stare to look at you.
“What do you want?” You could give her the world, if necessary. She just needed to say it and there was nothing in the world you wouldn’t get for her.
Wanda sighed showing the vulnerability you had come to appreciate from her, those moments in which she would stop pretending in front of you.
“I want to stay here, I want to…I want to be with you and see what will happen.” Wanda all but declared, you stood there for what seemed an eternity and the other woman was starting to step back, her face falling with a crack of uncertainty.
“Then, stay with me.” You stepped forward wrapping your arms around her, giving her enough space to leave but letting her know you wanted her with you. “I can’t promise you it will be easy, but I can promise you I will do everything I can to make you happy.”
Wanda stepped forward, and without any more words she sealed the deal with a kiss.
______________________________________________________________
It was past midday by the time everyone was back into the house.
At another time, and perhaps in another place the moment of peace you and Wanda had enjoyed during the day would have been cut short by the needs of the people filling out Ajak’s living room. Wanda was taken to the side by Tony and Nasha and soon you found yourself under the watchful eyes of Thena and Sersi.
Wanda stood on the balcony leading to the kitchen, the world in the coast of Italy was something she had come to appreciate in her soul. It was peaceful, and her heart found comfort in knowing this could be her new home. Her body turned lightly, and she and Scarlet stirred uncomfortably when her green eyes found the form of Thena leaning close to you.
Jealousy was something Wanda had learned recently, and the fact she had to be on the balcony while you were inside with a former lover was making her restless.
Tony stood by her side, his dark shades reflecting the afternoon sun while the sound of laughter filled out the streets. Fury rested the weight of his body on the rails crossing his arms while letting his good eye pinned the redhead on the spot. Natasha sat down playing with the drink Ajak had given her, enjoying the cold breeze of winter, and the strange silence amongst the group.
“This went a little out of hand.” Fury broke the silence talking to the group, his good eye moving from Wanda to Natasha. “Monica is trying to gather all the evidence she can, while Rhodes is helping out with some other bases around the coast.”
“Hayward was not working alone.” Tony commented lightly, his lips pressing together while his hand helped him out of his glasses. “But the fact he thought he would get something out of stealing the body of Vision and getting to you…”
“I thought about it.” Wanda finally said, looking away while wiggling her hands. “When I came back…I…he was alive because Thor gave the mind stone and his body the charge he needed to be alive. I thought…my magic could do something similar.”
“That’s why you started the whole Westview thing?” Tony asked, Wanda offered a broken smile shrugging.
“I wasn’t thinking when that happened, Tony.” Wands sounded tired all of a sudden, her body giving up on the tension she had been accumulating as of late. “But the moment I went to get his body, I knew it was a possibility.”
Fury narrowed his head leaning forward, “why didn’t you?”
“I was afraid, and I didn’t know if it was possible.” Wanda stepped forward until she was standing beside Tony and observing the blue of the ocean in the distance. “But I knew I could find a way to do so, perhaps…perhaps if I got to know my powers and who I was, I could use my powers to do it.”
“Then you just finally explode.” Natasha had seen the state Wanda had been in during Steve’s funeral, the way she had fought during Thano’s attack from the past and how she had been when she realised everything had been lost.
Wanda lifted her shoulder turning slightly, she locked eyes with Natasha and her smile was different. Without a doubt, Wanda had changed, and that was all Natasha needed to know at the moment.
“Are you ready to go back, or do you think you will explode once more, Maximoff?” Fury asked, straight to the point while uncrossing his arms and stepping forward. “We are trying to build the team from scratch and…”
“I won’t go back.” Wanda said firmly, her eyes hardening as they settled on Fury.
Tony and Natasha interchanged glances, while Fury merely lifted a single eyebrow at the bold declaration. Wanda dropped her arms, tilting her head to the side.
“It took me so long to get to where I am right now.” Wanda stated simply, Tony snorted, nodding towards the house.
“You mean, with a lover girl? Never peg you for a lesbian, Maximoff.”
Tony chuckled under the glare of Natasha and Wanda, he lifted his arms in a sign of peace but instead of mocking all Wanda could see was understanding, something she never thought Tony was capable of.
“It’s not about Y/N.” Wanda satiated turning to Fury who was looking a little sceptical. “You sent me here to heal, and get better. For the first time in my life I was able to be just…me. Someone who didn’t have to keep with anyone’s expectations, who didn’t need to jump every morning to save the world.”
Tony held back the smile threatening to leave his lips, he could see Wanda had changed in the last months she had been away from the life she had lived during her time as an Avenger and a runaway. She seemed relaxed, and the gleam in her eyes told Tony she was happy, happier that he had ever seen her before.
“I don’t want to give this life up, Fury. Not now,not any time soon.”
“Is this you talking, or is this what happened to you a few days ago talking for you?” Fury inquired, tilting his head and making sure Wanda could not look away from him.
The young woman pursed her lips shaking her head, “it is me talking, Fury. Before this…I just…I thought I had to go back to everything I left behind. This was supposed to be a holiday so I could get better.”
“It wasn’t about that.” Tony intervened, stepping forward, he placed a single hand on Wanda’s shoulder and Natasha nodded briefly, giving Tony the heads up to go right ahead.
“What do you mean? What was that?” Wanda pointed at Tony then at Natasha, both of them stirred lightly while Fury leaned back waiting to hear the story.
“We thought about getting you out of the States and really out of commission for some time.” Tony revealed glancing at Wanda with a tenderness she had only seen in him whenever Morgan was around. “What we saw when trying to get you out of Westview told us that you were just asking for help.”
“A help we never provided because we were too busy saving the world.” Natasha said simply.
“So you never thought I would be better?” Wanda asked, crunching up her nose.
“No, we never thought you would be back to do the same things you have been doing over the years. We thought you would be back changed.” Tony waved his hand around smiling. “And you did.”
Wanda knitted her bros together, she set her eyes on Tony first then on Natasha and finally on Fury.
“So you were expecting me to stay here?”
“Not here, exactly.” Tony replied. “But perhaps telling us you didn’t want to go back into the hero world. Which, we would have understood, we actually got you kid.”
Wanda was kind of surprised at some point they thought she would choose a life different to the one she had been leading up until the Blip. She had been lost, and with some many broken thoughts inside her mind, so angry at the world it had been quite difficult to try and find a way back to what she really wanted or needed. Her powers had been part of that confusion, and her misused of the magic had created so much conflict inside her and in the world that she never thought she had a choice.
“We lost track of you after Westview.” Fury started passing around the balcony, his hands in his pockets. “And Hayward came over to try and start an illegal operation in Italy that we stopped just on time.”
Wanda stood there for a moment, confused as to what Fury was saying exactly.
“As far as I know, Wanda Maximoff dropped off the face of earth, and we are one venger down.” Fury snorted. “Just my luck, gotta start looking for new talent then.”
Wanda stood there with her mouth hanging open, “Are you saying…?”
Fury shot her a pointed stare, ignoring the smiling faces of Natasha and Tony. He knew he wouldn’t hear the end of it from Tony, but for now he could give away what he knew would bring peace to Wanda. It was the least he could do.
“Just try to not break anything around here, and try to not make yourself noticeable.” Fury stepped forward walking towards the entrance of the house. “You know how to find us, Maximoff. I hope you find what you are looking for. Good-bye.”
Wanda stood there for a moment, still shocked by what had just happened. Tony and Natasha turned their eyes on her waiting for her reaction, Wanda just shook her head passing her hand through her hair looking first at Natasha then at Tony.
“Is he serious?”
“As serious as Fury can be, yes.” Natasha commented leaning back on the chair she was occupying. “So, you want to stay then?”
Wanda broke into an easy smile, and this time when she lifted her eyes you were looking back at her. The smile on your face, and the wink you sent her way was everything Wanda needed at the moment.
We really are staying here.
“Yeah, I’m staying here.”
______________________________________________________________
Night had already fallen, and your footsteps were taking you to the edge of the cliff.
The smell of the ocean reached you out, and the wind caressed your skin lightly while the moon shone a silver light above your head. The town was a golden paradise you could oversee from your position in the Hill; and the silence around you was enough to make you feel at ease. The woman on your left shivered, and you turned to her, passing your arm around her shoulders, putting her closer to you.
Wanda snuggled closer, her hands dropping around your hips leaning in the place of her face on the nape of your neck. Your heart jumped in your chest, your body tingling all over while you placed a soft kiss on her forehead.
“I’m thinking of a new setting for the house, perhaps something bigger for both of them.” You commented lightly, Wanda pursed her lips watching what used to be your guest house.
Your breath was taken away when she lifted her face with a brilliant smile, she grabbed your hand dragging you around the backyard towards the ruins of the house. You chuckled watching as her hands gleamed red and the idea you had in your mind became more real right before your eyes.
“Like this?” She asked teasingly at you, you shook your head putting her closer brushing your nose against hers.
“You know Gil is gonna be mad he couldn’t help around?” You whispered putting some strand hairs behind her ear, Wanda closed her eyes for a moment only to open them filled with unshed tears.
“He can help, this is only so he knows what you want.” Wanda bit her lower lip, enjoying the closeness of your body and the sight of your smile.
“And what about what you want?” You asked leaning in to plant kisses on her cheek.
Wanda closed her eyes tilting her head to wrap your lips with hers, a soft caress of lips while the kiss turned into an intimate moment of shared emotions. You broke the moment by spinning her around, your arms surrounding her waist making her laugh at the silliness of the moment.
“Go on, Wands, tell me what you want.” You whispered in her ear, your eyes gleaming gold showing off a big house with people coming in and the sight of you and her as a family.
Wanda and Scarlet jumped at the sight, her breath caught in her throat when they noticed the sight of a bump in their abdomen. You could sense the woman in your arms tensing, disbelief filling up her senses as she stepped away from you turning with green and red eyes glancing at you.
“What did you…?” She started and you shrugged looking away for a moment before looking back at her.
“Magic without intent, Wanda, is not magic.” You replied, stretching out your arms around the hill. “But if you put your heart in it, well it can work miracles.”
Wanda placed a hand on her abdomen, the dreams she had about her life back in Westview and what chances were coming onto her made her dizzy for a moment. She jumped when you grabbed her hand tentatively, you chewed on your lower lip before dropping your shoulders.
“I….I am in love with you, you know that.”
“I do.”
You nodded as if confirming her words, “I want to be with you.”
“I want to be with you, too.” Wanda replied suddenly understanding what you were trying to say.
“There is still a lot we need to figure it out but…I just want you to know I wouldn’t miss this new adventure with you for anything in the world.” Your voice was almost trembling as you opened up to her, Wanda was glancing at you completely serious hearing every word with a beating heart.
“I want to grow old with you, and if you allow me I want to build a family with you. Whenever we are ready, whenever you ar…”
You were cut off by the woman crashing her lips against yours, she held onto you with the same passion she had done so those first times you two were together. She kissed you with love and neediness, and her magic reached out to yours in ways you had learnt for years but that came out naturally to her.  You smiled into the kiss, a game started with you trying to cut it short while she chased after you laughing as you tickled her and soon both of you were just kissing and playing around until, little by little, you went into your destroyed home and enjoyed one another under the night sky above your room.

Plot: phantom of the opera au
Warnings: Some smut (im still learning how so go easy on me) fingering, dream sex, mind control but not dark)
Tumblr media
The opera de popular was one of the crown jewels of paris, a place where dreams and nightmares can become a reality. It’s also where young (y/n) (l/n) found themselves living after the untimely death of their only living relative, their father. With no living family and no prospective husband (y/n) would have been homeless if not for Madame Ajak, the kindly dance instructor of the opera and a dear friend to the girls late father.
Madame Ajak became the mother you never knew, kind, caring, always able to cure any physical ailment that seemed to bother her or anyone else, with Madame came Sersi. She was another girl that had grown up in the opera. Madame Ajak was unable to have children of her own so she adopted Sersi when she was just a baby. The young woman was only a few years older then (y/n) and the two became fast friends. Sersi showed you the ins and outs of the opera house, really the ins and outs of Paris. Many times she would take you out and about to learn about your new home and everything in it including the rest of the people that would make up your new family. The first members you met came in the form of Gilgamesh and Thena.
Gilgamesh was the chief of security for the opera house. He was a giant boulder of a man well built and very intimidating at first glance, that is until he smiles at you and turns into the giant teddy bear he is. Always making sure all of us are safe and sneaking in baked goods every now and then. You wouldn’t know just from looking at him but he was an amazing baker, especially his pies they were to die for. With Gilgamesh came his partner Thena, she was gorgeous a goddess without even trying. She was the stunt, fighting and weapons expert for the opera and many other production houses in Paris. Many people thought she was a model but the mere thought made her grimace, “Why would I want to be a model and have to care what everyone thought of me?” Even though she had a tough exterior she was also very kind in her ways. Thena was determined for all of us younger girls at the opera to be able to protect ourselves, teaching everyone basic self defense and warning signs and so on and so forth. She was truly a ferocious mama bear if she wanted to be, to you she just became a protective aunt.
Next up was, without a doubt, your favorite trio, Phastos,Sprite and Makkari. All three worked backstage, keeping the opera house running as fabulously as it does. Phastos was the head engineer/ prop master. If something needed to be built he was the guy, his creations awe inspiring, some looking as though they had come straight out of the future, but he was still humble enough to answer any questions you or anyone had about the devices. Alongside Phastos worked sprite. She was young that was undeniable but boy was she talented, A true artist she was the head set designer and painter. Everything she created was so stunning you couldn’t even tell it wasn’t real. While Phastos was somewhat humble, Sprite was spunky, quick witted and sharp tongue when wronged. She halted being looked down on because of how young she looked and would lay into anyone who belittled her.
Makkari was a completely different story, even though she was deaf that did not stop her. Always with a kind smile on her face she ran around helping pull everything together. She was the resident lighting and stage hand always in the right place at the right time, almost like there were seven of her. When she wasn’t working she would be in the shopping district, dragging (y/n) with her to oogle all the shiny and sparkly Knick knacks, all the beautifully colored fabrics and imports coming in. In fact that's how Kingo was introduced.
Kingo was a fashionista, a real eye for how to make everyone look their best with one look.he was the opera's resident costume designer / understudy. Kingo dreamed of being on stage; he knew all the words, all the songs, everything, but sadly his time in the spotlight had not yet come. Everyone always reassured him his time would come, in fact you would always run lines with him whenever he was feeling down, he was over the top dramatic for sure but so entertaining. Probably the only thing more entertaining was picking on him with sprite and makkari. His reaction to the twos joke always brought a smile to your face, and was almost a bonding experience with the other girl.
During the day there was enough to distract you from your sullen thoughts. In particular the formation of a new found family, always there to relieve you of your boredom and loneliness but at night it was a different story. About a month after you had arrived you sat in the opera's small chapel, lighting a candle for your fathers soul. You guess your gentle weeping is what brought forth the angel's song, but all you really remember is the gentle glowing gold of the candles or at least you think it was the candles but you didn't really care as the feelings of calm wash over you with the soft timber of the angel's voice. At night or really whenever you were alone the angel would speak to you. Teach you the ways of the opera house and the music that went along with it. He was a mystic presence, always there but never in reach.
He invaded your whole life, when not learning from him at night your dreams started turning to him.
It would start with his voice, hearing it in your head as you drifted to sleep, the scene would change to a candle lit backdrop, soft smells of vanilla fill the air, a dreamy feeling wanders around you, then you would feel hands wrap around you. They were strong, long fingers as they wandered up and down your frame. You dare not turn around not wanting the feelings he provokes from you to end too quickly.
Tumblr media
You watch as those glorious hands gently slide up your leg taking your thin night shift with them until they reach your core. A branding iron of heat in eloping you as he probes you. Fingers lightly playing with your clit as his lips caressed your ear, words ringing through your very soul it felt
“My beautiful beautiful muse, I've waited so long for you. I’ll never forget the day I first heard your voice, it was like hearing a blessing.”
You couldn’t even articulate words to reply to him shivering as hard as you were from merrily his touch.
“I can not wait for the day you truly belong to me. Mind. Body. And soul”
You feel his fingers stroking in tune to his words. Marking his point deep within your walls, but before you are able to climb to the peak a loud ringing sounds from beside you
“Ignore it”
You try of course but the ringing doesn’t stop. With each ring the scene around you shakes, deteriorating back into the blackness that waits behind your rapidly opening eyes. You sit up in shock, eyes trying to adjust to your bedroom as your alarm rings beside you. Your body still shivering from the after effects of the dream you just had.
Tumblr media
Five years had passed, under your teachers guidance your gift bloomed but the only people you would even attempt to try to sing for would be your new family, and that was only light humming. The dreams became normal as well. Usually they happened after working with your mysterious and gracious master. You never learned anything more about him. All you knew was his voice but the one in your dreams seemed to evolve.
First was his hands and then his arms then his legs, his back, even a head of dark brown hair. But never his face. It was starting to vex you honestly, every time waking up from the pure euphoria of those dreams too have reality slap you in the face of how lonely you felt. Not that your new family did not appease your heart, in fact being with them was as natural as breathing. To be honest you couldn't describe what was wrong with you, all you could summarize it as was that it felt like part of you was missing.
Tumblr media
A week after your 24th birthday the new owners of the opera appeared and with them came someone familiar.
“Listen up everyone!” Mr Richard's the old owner calls to everyone, all of us currently gathered on the main stag rehearsing the latest show
“I would like to introduce the new owners of the opera Monsieur Nelson and Monsieur Murdock.”
Everyone claps all clambering around to get the best views of the two young owners. You had to admit neither were horrible looking, you thought it was interesting for a blind person to want to buy an opera but it made sense to, even if he couldn’t see the performances, listening to them was the next best thing.
‘Thank you all, thank you we are both very happy to start our adventures in the arts.” Mr Nelson started “We would also like to introduce our generous backer Count Ikaris de solar.” Finished Mr Murdock to when a handsome brunette stepped onto stage to everyone’s approval and applause.
“Ikaris?” You gasped out as everyone continued to clap and awe over the count
“Do you know him (y/n)?” Sersi asks confusingly
“Yes, we knew each other as children. We were somewhat close before his family moved away, I can’t believe that's truly him.”
Before you get another word in, a loud clearing of the throat silences everyone. Mademoiselle Ayesha and her pompous son Adam, step through the crowd in their fine costumes. The madame was the current lead soprano for the opera even though you thought she couldn't sing for shit. Her voice was almost as grating as her attitude towards everyone. Sprite assumed the only reason she was given any parts was because of her stupidly wealthy family and late husband. But you choose not to comment on that. The woman stands there covered in gold and signals to the maestro to start at the top of her aria once more
Tumblr media
Oh no she's starting again Sersi says from beside you already getting ready to cover her ears. In fact you can even see the housekeeping staff in the audience stuffing Cotton in their ears. The woman doesn’t get but a few lines in the aria her screeching tone ringing through the stage before the rolled up backdrop above her comes crashing down. The light but sturdy fabric lands on top of the soprano pinning her belly flopped to the stage floor to the shocks and screams of everyone around.
They rush to help the woman up but the damage to her pride is too great. She starts screeching about all the previous accidents directed at her, of all the misfortune and indignity that has befallen her and how she will not stand for it any longer. Mr Murdock simply stands there letting the scene unfold as Mr Nelson loses his mind along the diva as she. Stomps her heel gathering all her things, her son and their people and promptly leaving
The new owners were in a tissy (mostly foggy) wondering how they are supposed to open tomorrow with no star. How this whole adventure is now wasted. Madame Ajak promptly interrupts, saving Mr Nelson from a full melt down, handing the duo a dark black envelope with a giant red wax seal on it.
“Where did that come from?” You ask Sersi
“That confirms it then, It must was the phantom”
“The phantom?”
“Have you honestly not heard the others talk about this?
“No?”
She just shakes her head at you before filling you in on the details
“He's a mysterious person, some say he’s a ghost, others a demon but no one knows for sure. They say he's been here forever always making his presence known. In fact the previous owner used to pay him a monthly wage just to appease him, that and that box number 5 be kept empty for him whenever he wishes. Everything was going well but this past couple years he has gotten a little more devious.
“Why?”
No one really knows, and everyone’s afraid to ask or look around afraid they’ll never be seen again.
Before you can ask sersi more your name is being called.
“(Y/n)(l/n) can do it.”
What?” You had missed the conversation between the two new owners and Madame Ajak
One of your dances can replace the star diva from the past 5 years.? Your sure about that?
“Foggy why don't we give the girl a chance”
“Matt this is doing nothing for. My nerves
You stand there like a deer in headlight hoping you could somehow slip to the back and out of sight but Sersi sees you growing anxiety and gently but firmly directs you towards Ajak.
Madame gently took you from her daughter and lead you to the center of the stage
“Madame what,,,,but,, I,,,”
“It will be alright dear. I've heard you practice these last couple of years when you sneak off at night, and i know your teacher has taught ypu well”
“My teacher?”
Ajak just gives you a knowing look before she turns towards the maestro and nods at him leaving you standing there as everyone watches.
You hear quiet cheer from stage left where your little opera family all stand giving you thumbs up and right smiles, trying to ease your nerves, though it doesn’t really help, it's not till you look up towards the grand chandler that that gentle calming glow envelops your senses once more.
“From the top of the aria mademoiselle”
The band picks up and the music begins to play
Tumblr media
To be honest you don't remember much after that. It was a whirlwind of activity. Being swept off stage and quickly fitted into costumes, stage managers telling you where you need to stand, color spotting you with lights all the fixing basically to make it seem like you were always meant to be in the role.
You didn't know that while you sang your heart out on stage a certain young count had finally taken notice of you
“(Y/n)?”
“That’s the girl that used to follow you around?” Count Arishem Ikarus’s father ask begrudgingly
“Yes father that's the daughter of that famous violinist tha lived near our old summer home.”
“Well, well we may have found ourselves a diamond in the rough after all. The elder count scrutinizes the crowd all gawking at the peasant, like she's a princess. All he sees is an opportunity to boost his family further, the gears of his plan already forming in his mind.
Phantoms pov
There she is at last! Right where she belongs, my beautiful beautiful muse.

I love the way you can describe Thenamesh. How you find the right word to describe anything. It’s very poetic. Maybe you can use your talent and write something beautiful?
How Thena sees Gil? What she thinks when she is looking into his eyes, sees his smile? How he is tall and has these muscles but is very very gentle with anything fragile. How he is utterly gentle and soft with her?
Just her perspective of him. Something beautiful, soft and sweet.
Im looking forward for more story’s of you ❤️
Warmth
There are a few things that can come to mind when looking at the Strongest Eternal, but the first and foremost should be warmth. He radiates it, embodies it, effuses it. And it spreads to those around him, encouraging them to bask in such qualities as his warmth and his humour and his utter kindness.
When she looks at him, something stirs within her mind. it's hard to explain, and the Warrior Eternal is not exactly one confounded by her own thoughts often. But looking at him pulls something from deep within her. It lies dormant, under her unconscious thought when she doesn't need it. But how she loves that indescribable feeling.
From the moment their eyes met in deep space, to when her hand slipped into his when they first touched down on the planet, something about him makes her feel at ease.
The nerves in her body calm, the thoughts in her head quiet. He stills her like a ripple stills the water in its wake. She gives him her hand and his warmth washes over her. It loosens her, softens her jagged edges. She tucks her elbow in, bringing herself closer to him by her own volition. Because the choice to be closer to him is an easy one.
She watches him across from her, through the flames of revelry. Deviants have been slain and celebration is in order. She is not one for it, but he is. And if he is there, then she will not be far. Not unless it's to protect that smile of his--the warmth he carries preciously without even realising it.
"Come and have a drink with me."
Cold and hard, just like her. "No."
Not all of them are. Sersi is soft and warm, Makkari is bright and warm. Kingo is a little too bright, if anything. But none of them are warm like he is.
He turns and looks at her, bathed in Babylonian sun. His hair moves in the wind, soft and almost fluffy on the top of his head. It catches the light and holds it with its dark colour. His skin glows from the work he's doing. He waves.
His eyes are warm, and so gentle. Their colour is brown, but Thena will never have the words to describe how they are so much more than that. They are warm soup he makes for her when it's raining, or tea he brews when she can't sleep. They are the last embers of a fire she keeps stoked so he won't be cold after dozing off in the middle of watch duty. They are the first hints of sunlight she glimpses on his skin before going back to sleep, content with just the sight of him.
"Hey," he greets her plainly and simply. The one word has so, so many others behind it--so much that exists between them.
"Hey," she smiles back at him, content as his smile pulls up to one side while he tries to guess her thoughts. She lets him, because she gets to look at him for longer.
His eyes flutter as she reaches up to brush away a bead or two of sweat. He has black eyelashes, which make her envious because they get to touch his cheeks whenever they please.
"What have you been up to?" he asks lightly, his hand hovering closer, lingering in a way that would get anyone else killed.
She allows it, because it's easier than giving in and leaning all the way into it. "Watch."
He nods, content with her one word, because he knows she has chosen it just for him.
"You?" she asks, and this too is more than anyone else would get.
"Helping patch up the hole," he points to the last point of impact from a previous fight. It was a good fight. "Just finished."
"Hm," she purrs, eyes travelling over him. She follows every move of his shoulders, every breath that expands his chest under his armour, ever twitch in his arms after a hard day's work.
Those arms can rip a Deviant's head clean off. They are also made to fit around her in embraces that can only be described as painfully gentle.
"Hungry?" he asks, because he's always so concerned with feeding her.
She lets his hand come to the small of her back, his palm spreading against it. She knows every bend of muscle, every edge of bone, every ridge in the tips of his fingers. "What are you making?"
His smile puts the sun to shame. "Anything you want."
She lets out a fraction of a laugh, but he brightens as if she has promised him riches beyond compare. He always presents himself as living to hear even the smallest laugh from her. That is how she feels about his smile.
"Honey buns?" he suggests, and is rewarded with a full, bright smile, her lips pulling back from her teeth.
His eyes trail over them. Just like she knows every muscle on his body, he knows every bend and line in her lips. "I'll take that as a yes."
She keeps her eyes on him as they walk. She has no choice; he's too beautiful to look away. His hand moves and soon his arm is looped around her, as easily and lazily as he might lean against something.
She leans against him--leans into it.
How she loves him.

Sersi | Never
Tumblr media
*•.¸♡Request : Hi can you do a oneshot of sersi and the reader married and ikaris is jealous and kills the reader like he did to Ajaka ( ajaka is still alive and the reader is an eternal) and sersi and the eternals reaction to that ( because you were very close to them) as ikaris tells them. Then they find out that ikaris killed you and can you talk about happens because of that.
*•.¸♡Prompt : None
*•.¸♡𝙒𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 : Swearing, death, violence
*•.¸♡Paring : Sersi x GN!reader
*•.¸♡𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙮 : You never turn against your family.
*•.¸♡Words: 620
You married Sersi nearly two thousand years ago, it was perfect. Not only because you got to marry the love of your life, but everyone was happy, just making the moments even better. Until you noticed Ikaris twitching, the scoffs, the slight shoves and the rude words that were muttered under his breath. Finally having enough of the sour attitude Ikaris was giving, you met him on the rocks, hoping to know what happen.
"Ikaris, are you okay?" You asked walking up the rock to face Ikaris. Ikaris scoffed clenching his jaw like he could break it any second. "Ikaris?" Ikaris spun around hitting you across the face sending you hurling into a rock.
"You don't deserve her," Ikaris snarled letting his lasers fire into your shoulder. You winced holding your shoulder. "I can't believe she chose someone as useless as you." Ikaris shot at you again, burning the side of your face making you wail in pain.
Makkari perked up the vibrations in the air making her hair stand up. She looked around the Domo noticing two people missing. She grabbed Druig's shoulder making him face her, "Have you seen Y/N or Ikaris?" Makkari signed in a rush.
Druig furrowed his eyebrows, turning his head to look around the space. "No," Druig said knowing Makkari read his lips. "Sersi, where's Y/N?"
"She's talking with Ikaris, wanted to find out why he's so distanced lately," Sersi explained, fiddling with the flower wedding ring she wore. Makkari shook her head and speed away trying to find you. She skidded to a stop at the top of the rocks, stuck in horror as she watched Ikaris snap your neck to the side with his foot. Makkari knocked him over sending him flying. She grabbed you, running as fast as she could back to the Domo. The air that rushed in the room made the Eternals stumble but they snapped into action noting Makkari holding you.
Sersi was at your side in a minute clutching your hand. "Hey hey hey, Y/N can you hear me?" Sersi called brushing your hair back. Ajak knelt next to your body hovering her hand over your neck, but the grey pattern was quicker to take over your skin. "No no no, Y/N." Sersi continued to call out to you, tears running down her face, her hand holding onto you like a lifeline.
"It was Ikaris," Druig spoke in anger watching Makkari sign as her hands shook slightly. The others looked up at her waiting for an explanation.
"He crushed her neck, I'm guessing he made the burns," Makkari explained finally taking a seat. The group fell silent hearing footsteps down the hall, Ikaris stepped into the light, a proud smile trying to tug at the edges at his lips.
Kingo reacted first shooting his beams straight into Ikaris's chest, but it simply singed his armor. Thena and Gilgamesh stood up, ready to defend, or attack. Sersi continued to sob over your body only stopping to curse him out. "Leave now," Ajak instructed moving to stand in front of everyone. "You never turn against the ones you love, and never your family." Ikaris stood his ground, trying to take a step forward but Thena threw her sword out stopping mere inches from his face.
Ikaris sighed, looking over at Sersi who still clung to you. "Sersi-"
"Get out! Now! Leave!" Sersi screamed her voice breaking, her chest tight with sobs. Ikaris tried stepping forward again, but Sersi turned the ground into sand beneath his feet. "Get the fuck out! I never want to see you!" Ikaris flew out of the sand, going god knows where.
Sersi turned back to you bending to sob into your shoulder, "I'm sorry."

‘  we  were  something,  don’t  you  think  so  ?  ’ (from Ikaris to Sersi)

Tumblr media
SEPARATION DIDN’T TAKE AWAY the part he filled in her life. It had been years since they parted, but still, she remembered everything vividly. One would think that it was easy to forget, considering how long it had been, but that wasn’t the case. There was no expiration of feelings. There wasn’t a switch where you could just turn it on or off by choice.
Despite his absence, life went on for her. She moved forward. Got used to living without him. Even so, his presence still moved her, igniting that little fire. She was reminded of the moment she had first laid her eyes on him.
        It was bittersweet.
“We were,” she agreed, smiling up at him cordially. “Long time no see. How are you doing?” She sat upright and poised. The coffee shop wasn’t bustling with people. The weather was just right, and the atmosphere was tranquil. It set the mood nostalgic.

REQUEST : Hi can you do a series of the reader and sersi married in 1940’s and sersi leaves because the reader is mortal and goes to join the war with Steve. - reader does not know - Then the reader becomes a super soldier and is in the ice like Steve and sersi reaction to the reader death. The reader gets out of the ice and joins the avengers but never dates anybody else as they still love sersi. Then endgame happens and instead of Steve the reader goes back in time to see sersi only for her not to be there and spend all there life alone. When they in hospital suffering from dementia sersi come to visit the reader(like Peggy in civil war). The reader says how familiar sersi looks like and tells her how she went back in time to see sersi but she was not there. Sersi cries and the reader recognises her and they hugs for the last time and as she leaves the reader room . The reader dies and sersi pain because of that as people say captain something is dead.

@insidemyblood sent:  [ rain ] (for Sersi from Dane)
🗨️ // 𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒏 ; 𝚊𝚌𝚌𝚎𝚙𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐
Tumblr media
THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO ATTEND AN exhibit in another the city. It’s a three-hour road trip.  Everything has been smooth, until the car broke the second hour, and they’ve ended up stuck in the middle of nowhere. Coming out of the car, they’ve both decided to fix it themselves. If they don’t come up with a solution, then they’ll have to contact someone to tow their car for repair. The unexpected inconvenience irks her a little. She’s been set on the schedule they had planned, but this had to happen. They’ve been fussing over the engine for almost an hour until sky darkens, and the drizzle falls gently.
Sersi looks up heavenwards. The drizzle gradually turns into rain, but she remains there. Oddly enjoying the way it cascades through her skin. Her irate mood shifts, and she bursts into laughter. She finds the whole situation funny. She’s lived for a few millennia, but she can’t even figure out how to solve this mechanical problem. This is liberating. Fun. Childish. Probably why she finds this enjoyable.
Dane is most likely confused by what happened, and the way she’s acting. He’s ushering for her to get inside, but she waves him off. “The exhibit can wait.” She grabs hold of his wrist, and urges him to stay outside with her. “Dance with me?” she asks casually. It’s a random request but one that she doesn’t hesitate to ask from him. He, of all people, understands how she is with her caprices. And how much of a sucker she is for creating simple, humane moments.

Are We to Blame? Ch. 3 🌌
Light My Love, Chapter 3
Summary: "Are we to blame?" I looked back at Druig as he asked this, seeing him watch the two men as well.
"What do you mean?" I had to ask him.
"I can't help but think that what we gave them, made them bitter to one another," Druig said to me, having me look from him over to the men again, seeing how it was now a shouting match. I could feel the anger boiling up, and though I knew I was by no means a mere wallflower when it came to conflict, I never liked it in general.
I was more of an encourager for kindness, not an influencer for the latter.

*Chapter 3 - Are We To Blame?*
Gupta Empire
400 AD
We have moved on from Babylonia, seeing that our time there was done and they were completely safe from Deviants.  The high walls that showed majesty and history were left behind as we went back onto our ship and said our goodbyes.  We knew it was time, more Deviants were around the planet and we had to tend to them and the humans that were there.  The Babylonians waved goodbye, some of them waving particularly to me as I smiled at them all one more time.  I knew I saved most of their lives from the past fights, seeing their faces and how they were appreciating me keeping them alive.  It warmed my heart a little but seeing clearly what Ajak told me some time ago.
I belonged here.
By that time, humans were evolving and adapting more and more to the planet.  The Tools that we gave them helped them all advance and succeed in their lives.  They were building structures, massive walls and their population growth was a sight to see.  It was a lush region to be in, the massive trees that hid us away from the sun and the warmth in a skin that would bring rain later in the years helped in their growth of food and building their homes and temples.
Phastos loved showing his new inventions that would help them both in farming and communal life with one another, and we could all see how far behold the humans were in comparison to us.  It would be frustrating, seeing how much they can do and how much they could learn if only we could help him.  I saw it especially with Phastos and Druig at times, but Ajak was a constant reminder to us all:
"They must develop on their own.  We can give them so much, but now we can see it unfold in front of our eyes,"
Since then, we gave them all baby steps, seeing their spears turn into daggers or their hands for farming turned into plows and light machinery.  It was a sight to see, and in return, the humans sought after us for guidance and council.  We could only do so much, and for some of it was enough to just please them and get some praise back.
One thing that developed when we were in this new home was the union of Ikaris and Sersi.  We knew they were dating around each other, epically Ikaris since he would follow Sersi like a small animal.  Sersi was the embodiment of good, filled with kindness and gentlest to all the humans she encountered.  Ikaris loved her, and since they got together in Babylonia I knew they would have some kind of union.  When we arrived in this new area, they had a ceremony together with all of us in attendance.
The ceremony itself was beautiful, flowers and incense in the air as they were sating in each other's eyes while the priest conducted the ceremony.  We watched from the side, dressed in our best saris and we were all happy for the both of them.  Ajak cried happy tears, seeing her "children" in the best term getting married to one another.  Sersi, clad in beautiful robes that were made of her for the big day, beamed at Ikaris and watched him with such love in her eyes.  She deserved this, even with Ikaris who loved her wholeheartedly too.
I stood next to my family, clad in a sari with accents of Orange that matched my armor.  I had never worn something like this before, my hair in its loose waves down my back as I watched the ceremony.  I knew humans united in both ceremonies and other ways, in the way of their evolution.  The others knew about it, finding it amusing from time to time in our travels as we watched our humans speak and acted to another that they were in love with.  However, when it came to me and how I felt about it, there was nothing to tell.
I felt nothing when it came to those kinds of intimacy.
Maybe it was because I was an Eternal, or I had other priorities in mind. But there were times when I came women try to flaunt and be with Ikaris or even Kingo in their intimate ways.  Or even men flaunting to an intimidating Thena or the gorgeous Sersi.  I had it happen a few times, a man who try to swoon me to talk smoothly to me.  The main reason was that I was a God in their eyes, or even I had a small sense of beauty that I knew I had.  But I refused them every time, just the thought of being intimate with another person on that level made me beyond uncomfortable.
Besides I had other things to worry about.
I on the other hand was simply getting a bit more confident in how I would carry myself, still helping when it was needed and protecting those who needed the protection.  Fighting Deviants for me, compared to the beginning, was becoming less stressful and more fulfilling.
My powers were evolving.
I learned how to fight with my force fields, moving them in ways that could make them become weapons themselves.  Although I was never wanting to initial fight and bring pain, it was a good substitute for how I moved with my fingers and how I could bend the arcs of my force fields at will.  I was also getting better at my teleportation, using it on the ship as much as I wanted and being able to get somewhere quicker than usual.  I had to picture my destination in my head before I could attempt to get there within seconds.
Makkari, being the slight competitor that she was, would try and see who could get to the other side of town faster, than to the other side of the region.  It helped that she would push me to try and go farther, to use more of my powers to do so.  She was my best friend, and I cared for her as a sister.  It made me feel a bit bad when I would still get those jealous tendencies when she would chat with Druig or when they would go off on their own adventures together during their downtime.  That was another thing that was changing in me.
Druig and I were getting close as friends.
He enjoyed my time with him, the both of us talking with one another about the humans and how far they have come as a race.  He would use his abilities every once in a while, mostly in Deviant battles to lure the humans away from being hurt.  But he was also intelligent enough to help show them the recent invention from Phastos.  He had his moments of being a stubborn younger sibling, pestering and almost taunting Phastos in how Humans were not going to accept what he made just yet.  However, he was still willing to help and willing to try.  I could see he was more willing to help the humans be kind to one another, to be good with each other.  It was hard for them, though.  We saw civil fights they had with one another and he was aching to stop them.
"Petty fighting that brings spilled blood," Druig mentioned to me one time as we were walking together in one of the smaller markets.  I nodded in agreement as he went on, knowing that he was ranting and needing to let out some steam, "Why do they need to fight with each other and be…"
"Hateful?" I asked, hoping to end his question.  He nodded, keeping his hands folded in front of him in hopes of not using his abilities out of anger.  I sighed, placing a gentle hand on his arm.
"I know its hard," I reassured him, seeing him look head but was still looking at me, "You wish to stop them from hurting each other,"
"They get so easily angered, over nothing that is that important," Druig hummed in agreement.
"However," I gently said, "Ajak told us it was not our place.  Although, I can see their anger to one another get worse as time goes on,"
Druig looked over at me as I was watching two men arguing with one another at a stall, a very heated argument that was about to be violent.  I knew what it was like for Druig, not in the same manner since I couldn't read his mind or felt what they were feeling.  But still, knowing from what we saw in the very beginning with what the humans were at the time, the humans were getting more restless with each other.
"Are we to blame?" I looked back at Druig as he asked this, seeing him watch the two men as well.
"What do you mean?" I had to ask him.
"I can't help but think that what we gave them, made them bitter to one another," Druig said to him, having me look from him over to the men again, seeing how it was now a shouting match.  I could feel the anger boiling up, and though I knew I was by no means a mere wallflower when it came to conflict, I never liked it in general.  I was more of an encourager for kindness, not an influencer for the latter.
Druig moved to walk on the other side of me, being in the middle of myself and the two arguing men as we passed them.  The men briefly looked over at us, at me, and I saw the anger on their faces.  I instantly looked away, but Druig glared at him with no powers involved then.  They hushed their argument, moving away from us.
"They're afraid of us," I hummed, almost sounding hurt by it as I looked back at Druig,  seeing his neutral face once more look ahead, "I don't wish them to be afraid of us,"
"They're more afraid of me than you," Druig reasoned, having me give him a slight shove of my shoulder.
"Of course they are, you cower at them with your eyes and that glare.  You're not exactly friendly," I joked, seeing him crack a small smile at him as we turned a corner, "Give them a chance, Druig.  Humans mean well and they can be kind to one another."
"Did you head that one from Ajak?" Druig asked, not wanting to sound bitter about our leader but it did come off that way.  I knew he had difficulties from time to time when it came to taking orders from her, which came from Arishem.  He was being held back, and it was showing in how he spoke and in how he walked.  A little girl, no older than 7 years old, rushed out from one of the stalls with two pieces of bread that looked fresh from their oven and stopped in front of us.
She was a gorgeous little girl, holding it out for us with a massive grin.  I melted instantly, I loved children in particular when it came to the human race.  They were the definition of innocence and kindness, and I found myself playing with the children population every time we went to a new city.  This one was no different.
"Here!  For you!" She spoke in her language for us, which we were already fluent.  I knelt in front of her, being at her level as I gently took the bread and beamed at her.
"Thank you," I replied in her language, "What is your name?"
"Neyli," She replied, having me nod my head at her.
"You are too kind, Little Neyli," I answered back to her.  A voice called out to her from the stall, having me think it was her mother.  Neyli waved one more time and scurried away, having me get back up on my own two feet with the two bundles of baked goods.  I looked over at Druig, seeing that he watched the entire interaction from his spot and a small grin was on his face.  It was one of the very rare smiles that he hardly gave, the small that he would reserve for special occasions and even high amusement moments.  But we were sharing it, all over a piece of bread from a local little girl.  I gave him the second baked good, seeing him still watch me as he held it in his hands.
"I see it for myself, Druig," I answered him, then leaned in to take a massive bite from the treat.  He watched me, his smile never leaving him as I grinned and swallowed the warmth of the food.  I motioned with my head to his own that he wasn't eating it.
"They call it 'Bread'.  Phastos showed them how to make it about a month ago.  Try it, you'll like it," I reassured him, seeing him look down at his bread before taking a smaller bite.  I watched, seeing him think about for a moment before he hummed in agreement.  It was a sight to see, having me giggle at him as he took another bite with no hesitation.  A look of relief was on his face and in his stature, all from eating a small creation from humans.  He glared at me from my giggle, his mouth still filled with bread and he had no remorse over it.
"Told ya," I snorted at him.
-----------------------------------------
"Hey, guys! Look at what they made for us!"
We were all meeting in Phastos's lab, looking at one of his newer inventions and hearing him try to explain it to us when both Kingo and Gilgamesh walked in with their arms filled with what appeared to be figurines and idols.  Immediately we all dropped our attention from Phastos to what they brought in, Phastos not being phased by it at this point and he walked over as well.  He knew we meant well, but we also knew his intelligence was far different than our own.
Kingo and Gilgamesh unleaded their treasures onto a secondary table near one of the displays, the rest of the group hurrying over and looking at what they brought.  Of course, I was one to take my time while I could already hear them murmuring to one another and seeing what the humans made for them.
"They made us!" Sprite said in amusement, holding a smaller figurine of herself carved from marble.  Ikaris could quite proud of his own, seeing how it almost looked just like him.  Sersi looked flattered, having me see it all over her eyes as her own looked gorgeous too.
"They've come a long way in developing these tools," Phastos said in a grin as he was looking at a smaller trinket that was of him.  I saw Kingo give him a gin and clasp him on the shoulder,
"Good job showing him how to use those chisels," Kingo complimented him, Phastos beaming from the praise as he then looked at his own idol, "They still can't get the nose right,"
Makkari looked over at the miniature clay figuring of Druig, handing it to him and giving him a small smirk.
They made you way nicer here. She signed to him, earning a chuckle from Gilgamesh as he looked too.
"That they did," Gilgamesh said in amusement.  Druig rolled his eyes and gave Makkari a short shove as I saw Kingo then take out a smaller piece, rushing over to me.
"This one they just made today, for you!" He explained, placing a rather large coin in my hand.  I looked down, seeing how shiny and precise the metal coin was.  There was writing on the side I was looking at, having em confused at first.  It took me a moment to realize that I had to turn the coin over.
Once I did, it took my breath away.
It was a portrait of my face, looking up and the rays of the sun were right behind my head.  I was astonished to see my own face there on a mere coin, how it was shiny and new from being made by mere humans.  My eyes were closed on the coin, yet my hair was flowing behind me amongst the rays of the sun.  They made my face perfectly: my dip of my nose, the curviness of my cheeks, and the lines on my lips.  It didn't feel like I was looking at myself in a small piece of metal.  I was looking at another picture.
I wasn't looking at me.
"Let me see!" Sprite said in a grin, taking my coin before I could stop her.  She held it up, having it shine in the light of the room as Phastos and Sersi looked too.  They also were amazed at the picture of me there.  But this was feeling almost like some kind of exposure, showing a side that humans saw in me and not being able to stop it.
"Oh wow!" Phastos said in amazement as he looked at the coin, "You look beautiful!"
"How pretty!" Kingo said in a hum, in which Spite gave him an annoyed look, "Hey, at least they got her nose right!"
"They got everything right," Sprite commented, almost a bit annoyed by it.  I didn't care, all I cared about was how I felt seeing that picture of me and how I felt and looked so different from it.  It was a completely different person, someone who was downright beautiful.  When it came to how I felt about my beauty, I considered myself a bit more humble.  I never saw myself as an angel in appearance, nor did I consider myself ugly at all.  Ordinary was how I felt about myself, ordinary and plain.
Not according to this coin though.
"You're the first one out of all of us to be placed on some kind of currency," Ikaris said in a hum, almost amused himself as he took the coin from Sprite and looked at it in the light.  I watched him, seeing him think to himself and how he was almost calculating something in his mind.  Ever since we came to this planet, I knew he was good.  But something was telling me to cautious around him, the stoic way he walked and carried himself was almost intimidating.
"You should be proud," He finally said to me, his voice staying normal to me as he placed it back in my hand.  I wanted to be proud that I was seen like this by mere mortals.  I knew the others were proud, almost amused by it.  But I couldn't, I couldn't be happy that I was seen as more than my worth.  I was staring down at my coin, my face remaining calm and trying to be composed about it. However, it was starting to feel too much.
"Soteri?" I heard Gilgamesh call out to me, having me close my fingers around the coin and I looked up.  The others were looking back at their trinkets, but only Gilgamesh, Druig, and Makkari were watching me.  I saw Thena from the other side of the room looking to, though she was silent and analyzing me as Makkari was looking at me with worry.
What's wrong? She signed to me, her face etched with worry.  Even Druig, the very present brooding force of nature had a hint of worry in his eyes.  I shook my head, trying to avoid making a scene in front of them all.
"Excuse me," I muttered as I placed the coin in Gilgamesh's hand.  I then walked away without saying another word, hiding my face with my chin down and walking out of the room.  I turned the corner and out of the sight.  I leaned against the wall and took a few deep breaths.  I could still hear them talking to one another, all from my small outburst in front of them over a silly human coin.
"Is she upset over how they made her look?" Phastos asked, sounding just as confused, "They did a marvelous job though!"
"You know how Soteri is," Gilgamesh reasoned with his kind voice, "She never wants to flaunt herself in front of others.  Not even in front of us."
"She has no sense of pride in herself," Ikaris commented, almost sounding a bit smug himself.  It was painful to hear, hearing it from another Eternal that I was flawed.
"Her pride is not outwardly flamboyant and seen consistently, Ikaris," I heard Druig comment back, his voice was cool and almost a jab back at the second in command, "Soteri is humble.  Something I think we should learn and admire.  Especially you,"
There was nothing else heard, having me breathe out and walk away to my room.  Maybe I was overthinking it, putting too much pressure on myself.  I hated that I had that second-guessing embedded in me, how it was always following me and nagging me at the back of my mind.  If this is what it's going to be like for the rest of my time here on this planet, I wasn't going to be able to make it.
I walked over to my bed in my room, already having a few presents there from humans in the past.  One of them was a rather large orange blanket, soft to the touch and soothing to sleep in.  I had some other things that were given to me like statues, pieces of jewelry, and pictures too. In comparison to the others, my room was plainer.  I sat on the bed, looking at my folded hand and the ring that Makkari gave me back in Babylonia.  I still wore it from time to time, a comfortable feeling and sense of reality at the same time.
"I love your room,"
I looked up, seeing none other than Thena stand in the doorway as she was looking at the small things I had everywhere, "It's nice.  Kingo's room is a bit more cluttered though.  Far too many things for my liking."
"He loves his presents," I hummed, not saying it as a nasty comment as she walked in and stood next to me by my bed.  I sighed, leaning back a bit in my bed as she was staring down at me with her levelness of kindness and intrigue that was always on his face and in her eyes.
"There's nothing wrong with being humble about yourself," She reminded me gently, sitting carefully next to me on my bed and giving me some space myself, "I find it quite admirable,"
"You do?" I asked, sounding sheepish about it, "I only see it as something in me that's…broken.  That I can't think better of myself,"
"We don't all think the same way," Thena reassured me as she reached over to open my hand that was close to her, I opened it willingly, seeing her place the very coin that I hate moments before back in my hand, "But the way you show your kindness and your selfless in front of the humans, that's worth more than how you think we will think of you."
I looked at the very coin again, almost seeing my portrait now in an intimate way without the rest of the Eternals looking at it too.  This time it was just myself and Thena, the mere embodiment of a warrior. She grinned, placing her hand on my finger to get my attention again.
"Soteri," Her voice was soothing when she said my name, and I looked back at her and saw the gentleness in her eyes, "They see you as someone who will protect them to the ends of the earth.   Your strength is solely your own, it is not mine.  Nor is it Gilgamesh's strength or even Ajak's strength. But how wonderful is that then?"
I smiled at her seeing that she was telling the truth to me.  She was never one to be talkative with the others, more watching from the distance but always on alert for any threat.  I loved how she was already ready for a fight, yet she was cool and calm at the same time.  I admired her and leaned on her when it came to wisdom since she rarely spoke.  But when she did, she spoke such wisdom it was memorizing.
"Keep that strength, and let it shine on those mortals.  This is what they see," She reminded me, pointing to my portrait on my coin, "I see it too.  And I'm not the only one,"
I gave her a confused look as if she said something that was almost a hint.  She would do that from time to time too, seeing something that none of us see and silently tell us with her subtle tones or a simple look.  She knew something else, but who was I to push her on it?  Thena just smiled, giving me a small wink from her before she got up from my bed and I followed suit.
"Let's see how pompous Kingo can be, shall we?" She asked, having me chuckle and follow her out of the room.  I left the coin behind, no longer worrying about it anymore.
------------------------------------------------
Present Day
"You have alcohol on this plane?"
"Anything and everything you would ever need, my friend!"
"How about a rum and coke?"
"Right away, ma'am!"
I was sitting at the bar of Kingo's private jet, watching as Kingo's valet, a kind human named Karun, starring making my drink in front of us.  it was almost like a dream, being about 40,000 feet in the air in a private jet on our way to Australia to find Thena and Gilgamesh.  The sky was open and clear, with barely any clouds as I turned on my chair to see the other two Eternals I just reunited with.
Kingo and Sprite.
Sprite looked just the same in her young body. Her vibrant red hair was short and pushed to the side, clad in her comfortable teal attire and already looking annoyed.  It was good to see and hug her again, given the dire circumstances that we were in.  She was living with Sersi in London for some time, telling me that Ajak wanted her to check on Sersi and she was with her ever since.
Now Kingo, he was the same and yet completely different.  He was a massive Bollywood star, making moves left and right for the past 150 years.  He loved being in the limelight and using his charm to get his fame.  It did fit him, though I knew deep down was the kind Kingo I knew from the past.  It made perfect sense he would have his jet that we were now on, most than half of us together again from being apart for so long.  Karun knew about us being Eternals, he was a new ally and was filming some kind of documentary on u.  I saw her as a soft individual, listening to Kingo's every work and still watching us in admiration at the same time.
Karun handed me my cocktail, having me give him a small smile and nod.
"Thank you," I thanked him, seeing him fluster a bit from the kind words I gave him.
"You're very welcome, ma'am," He replied, though I heard Kingo chuckle behind me as I looked over at him.  He was sporting a vibrant purple bomber jacket, his hair styled perfectly and that infamous smile on his lips.  He looked upgraded but was still the same Kingo to me.
"Karun, my friend, you are in the presence of the Great Soteri!" he said in his boisterous manner, having me see Sprite somewhat grin and almost roll her eyes from how Kingo was acting, "The Goddess of Safety and Protection!  She is the embodiment of swiftness and grace!"  I raised an eyebrow at him now, seeing him give me a friendly look.
"Really?  Now that last part is new to me," I commented at him as we stood in front of each other in the aisle.  He chuckled and shrugged.
"I made up that last part, even though it's true!" He reasoned as I grinned and took a drink from my cocktail, "But the Goddess of Safety and Protection, that's all on the Greeks."
"Adding the A to the name made it more….what's the word?" Sprite asked from her spot in her chair, looking up at me in curiosity.  I thought for a moment.
"Cocky?" I asked, seeing her think to herself before she had a smug look.
"I was going to say powerful, but sure," She replied, having me chuckle as I took another drink and Kingo clasped me on the shoulder.
"Soteria has a nice ring to it," he hummed while we both walked over to the set of chairs that were next to the bar, "They made your name sound amazing, by the way."
"And you're a massive superstar in Bollywood.  How is it that I can clearly picture it in my head?" I asked him coyly, the both of us sitting together in the plush chair as the jet was still streaming along in the sky.  I looked up at some of the posters that were placed on the wall, seeing Kingo's face there on each other looking so suave and yet powerful at the same time.
"It's a nice life," Kingo said in a shrug, trying to sound nonchalant about it as he then grabbed his phone in his jacket pocket.  He tapped it a few times and then showed me the screen as he spoke again, "I saw this pop up on my feed a few weeks ago!  They found this in an excavation site out in India.  Remember this?"
I peered at the digital screen, taking a moment or two before I knew what it was.  I had a small grin on my face as I gently took his phone in his hands to look at it closer.  It was the very coin that was given to me, all those centuries ago.  It looked battered now, time took its toll on the coin with bent edges and the burnt down color.  But I knew it well.
My coin.
"They dated it back to 483," Kingo explained, smiling as I was looking at the coin in admiration, "Apparently it was the last coin that is in existence.  They tried to find others, but this was the only one."
"I haven't seen this coin in hundreds of years," I murmured, touching the screen almost in hopes I can touch the real coin, giving a small smile seeing it there in front of me.
"What happened to the one they gave you?" Sprite asked, walking over to look at the coin too.  I shrugged at her.
"Don't know," I replied, seeing them both give me a confused look, "I held onto it, but I think I lost it right before we…..we separated."
They said nothing, almost thinking the same thing.  it was a solemn note in the air now as I cleared my throat and gave the phone back to Kingo gently.  He gave me a small smile, showing he understood as he then changed the subject.
"When was the last time you saw Ajak?" he asked, sounding softer and kinder than before.  I thought back for a moment before answering.
"1985," I answered, "Feels like ages ago really.  I went to see her on her farm, I was living in New York at the same as a nurse."
"And now she's a preschool teacher!" Sprite said to Kingo as he smiled widely at me.
"Preschool?  Really?" He asked, having me grin and nod my head as I leaned back in my chair, "You always had a thing for kids."
"I love kids," I hummed, feeling lighter about the new subject at hand, "Any job I got it had to involve kids.  Kids are….well, they're innocent compared to the rest.  I was a pediatric nurse for a while, then I worked in Social Services for a good long time, and now I teach,"
"What a good Samaritan," Sprite commented, though I knew she meant well as she then paused before she spoke one more time, "It's weird, isn't it?"
"What is, Sprite?" Kingo asked, not understanding.
"That we're all getting back together like this.  Isn't it?" She asked, having the three of us say nothing and think about it.  I knew she was right, giving Ikaris and Sersi both a look too.  They knew more about what happened with Ajak, they saw her body and anything.  It was hard to see all of this unfolding in front of us, all of these things happening and leading us back to each other just to get to fighting again.  I didn't know what kind of battle we were about to get into, but perhaps it was going to be okay with all of us together as one, as it was before.
Just with now Ajak to guide us along the way.
----------------------------------------------
Australia
The first thing we saw, walking up to the small compound in the middle of the hot desert, was the bead body of a Deviant.
It already had me on the edge, seeing its lifeless form on a heap on the hot desert sand.  We all looked at him, uneasiness already on our backs while Karun filmed it on his camera.  I gave Sersi an uneasy look, seeing her do the same.  I knew they were attacked in London, they have already seen it.  But for me, it's been a long while since I have seen a Deviant.
The old memories were flooding back.
"This is the Deviant you fought in London?" Kingo asked Ikaris as they were walking in the front.
"It's different," he answered, "There must be more out there than we thought."
"How much more?" I had to ask, going back the body and closer to the building in front of us.
"We don't know," Sersi replied in a murmur.  Karun rushed over to the body with his camera out and ready.
"This is a Deviant, sir?"
"Yeah," Kingo replied solemnly.
"Ah!  It's a beautiful creature!"
"What, this?! What no!  It's hideous! You've never had one try to bite your head off!  Look...film!" Kingo commanded, Karun posting the camera at him as we were walking.  I was gazing at the small shack in front of us, a little courtyard in the front that had a working oven and drapes overhead to shield from the sun, mud walls, and small knick-knacks all over the place.  It was a small and quiet home, and a place I knew I could picture for Thena and Gilgamesh to hideaway.
"You're about to meet two of the greatest warriors the world has ever known!  Thena: Legendary, daring, fashionable!"  Kingo explained to the camera as we approached the front door.  Ikaris went to pounding on the door, the rest of us standing a bit back to give space.  Karun zoomed his camera right on the door itself, ready for the appearance
"And her trusty friend, a mighty powerhouse of strength…the fierce some Gilgamesh!"  Kingo introduced him, though no one was coming out of the house itself.  It was a pregnant pause, almost uneventful, but the smell sound of a radio was heard in the house.  Someone was indeed home.
"Gilgamesh!" Kingo called one more time.  Then the doors flew open, a figure standing there in the doorway that towers over the rest of us.  He, like the others, looked just the same as before.  His stature was broad and built on muscle, yet his face and stare that was almost bothered.
Gilgamesh, clad in an apron that said, 'Kiss the Cook'.  He looked at all of us then, finally speaking.
"What took you so long?"
