went to see bp:wf yesterday and i want my money and 2.5 hours back 😐

- disney/marvel once again wouldn't know what "scale" is if it thumped them in the back of the head (that final battle was an embarrassment lmao. abeg x3)

- i have long resigned myself to the horrendous accents (winston duke my dear thank you for salvaging as much as you could)

- the trend of hollywood treating africa/african societies as a place of ancient myth and/or a power fantasy and not really a real, complex place (then again wakanda was never for us - it has never really been anything other than western norms dressed in a broadly african aesthetic - so it's not like i'm surprised)

i don't even really care that much about the last two points, but marvel movies are action movies first and foremost so why is the action always so painfully mid 💀 imagine spending millions of dollars on vfx for that

i do not understand how people cannot stick to cinema etiquette

#i mean there are exceptions obviously but #god that was the worst cinema experience of my life #my mental health is in a really bad place rn and i’ve been looking forward to this trip all week #it’s been like the only thing that has got me through the week at times #and i was so looking forward to seeing the film separately as well #and this group of 4 teenage boys who were sat next to me spend the entire time chatting away or turning their phone torches on #or just generally being on their phones #and not only is it rude it felt completely insensitive too #bc i was watching black panther #and throughout every moment that acted as a tribute to chadwick boseman the entire theatre was quiet EXCEPT FOR THEM #i could hear them every. time #and bc my mental health was already so low i got so anxious and overwhelmed and just had a meltdown the second we left the theatre #god it was so awful #(i did enjoy the film tho. when i managed to ignore them) #eli speaks
