Say it with me:
Change is coming. Palestine, Congo, Sudan, Hawaii, and more will be free.
Stop talking about these places as if hope is lost. Change is coming. Palestine will be free, then we will work on the next thing, then the next.
Change is coming.

Winds of winter
It is about time.
It is about to happen.
Some few may dread,
While some more eagerly awaiting.
On the other side of this rickety fence,
that has been built and standing,
By fortunates slowly faded by fuzzying fumes,
With teeth green and rotten, as their stolen harvest,
There you will find
No change
But the shape of the fallen leaves on the fields.
I take the hands that are closest to me. I hope they do the same. And I take the very next step, in hopes that some may follow. To where the winds of winter are leading us.

Small changes are still changes.
Small changes add up.
Small changes become big changes.

things are changing
sometimes for the better-
the air isn’t as claustrophobic as it once was
it’s getting warmer
the flowers and i have bloomed
flames don’t burst from my lungs when i enter a church. i don’t feel the walls caving in like i once did. and although it’ll never be what it once was,
i feel loved.
schools over and i’m not going back in the fall
-sometimes for the worse-
2 of my best friends are moving away
summers warm touch doesn’t feel the way she used too
i’m so scared that two of the closest people to me are going to be nothing more than a distant memory, how am i supposed to reopen my walls to people i do not know? how do i ask someone to hold off on living their entire life just to bring me comfort?
i have no idea what i’m doing
time is moving too fast. i try to live in the moment but the moment is slipping away and in 24 hrs you’ll be gone. in a month she will be gone. how much longer till it gets me too?
as much as i try,
i don’t think i’m a fan of change

Twelve on; twelve off
For the past few days highs temperatures in these parts have crawled into the 80s. Today we’ll top out at 60, with lows tonight in the high 30s. Welcome to the first day of autumn.
It’s a fluke, of course. Nature is rarely this tidy in its seasonal divisions. Surely we’ll see more 70s before the snow flies.
But as the sun crosses the “celestial equator” - an imaginary extension of the Earth’s equator line into space - and as air temperatures seesaw. deeper, steadier, more reliable forces are at work.
The sun sinks lower in the southern sky, chipping away at daylight. It’s 12 on and 12 off now, and that’s as good as it gets until next March. There will be no gong back - no unseasonable extra ration of daylight.
Plants and trees, unable to work under those conditions, retreat into dormancy. Animals put on their winter coats, fill their cupboards, fortify their winter homes. Birds fly south, as do some humans.
Something’s coming.
