They did not even have to consider going to college Bc wealth alone is all you really need to be successful in a profession in the US. It has nothing to do with whether you actually contributed anything worthwhile to the world, and everything to do with being born into extravagant money. Honorary doctorates are a perfect reflection of America’s toxic exaltation of celebrities, as well as the fact that wealth and status is all you need to obtain a powerful position in this country, regardless of your actual competence for that position.
