what is this feeling?

somedays i feel like a god, somedays a pathetic worthless mortal being.

i'm struggling between self doubt and over confidence. i've been swimming & swimming & swimming incessantly trying to reach an invisible shore.

whenever i think about my future, i feel scared and feel like walking backwards to my childhood. because my childhood was an endless summer, a forever thing.

lately everything seems so blurred, can't distinguish between reality and imagination anymore. i've been living too much inside my mind. in monet's words: i want my heart to stay "awake" in a "colorful silence". but lately i've been feeling like my heart has been drowning in the same sea of silence. everything feels parched.

today, i tried to shut my mind and listen to the melody of this mellow may evening. and suddenly i witnessed a bird sitting at the branch of a tree.

i felt a bit liberated from my thoughts, from this never ending vicious loop for a brief moment.

i'm 20. and maybe i'm not the only one who feels this way. feels so lost...

In light of today’s Dracula Daily update, I want to hit on some key bits

1. Kudos to everyone picking up on the implications of what those missing items are foreshadowing, you are Extremely on point

2. Anyone want to mention what it means that we don’t know when that theft happened? How much the Count has gotten away with upon and around Jonathan’s person when he’s dared to fall asleep? 

Yeah, ‘Despair has its own calms’ and all, but the guy has to be sleeping as lightly as he can by now. Especially after the whole ‘waking up in his room after the Count carried him there and changed his clothes while he was unconscious’ thing. So he’s on guard 25/7, sleeping thin and dreamless, but the Count still found an opportunity to slip in, steal what he wanted, and slip out. 

No spoilers for the upcoming time gap, but I’ll say there’s a decent chunk ahead between this entry and the next. In that time, he isn’t confined to his room as punishment--No more silly shorthand letters, Friend! Good Jonathan!--but free (read: obligated) to continue enjoying the Count’s cordial company. Think about that. All those endless-short hours of all those eternal-brief nights, still maintaining as much of the charade as possible. 

Because the Count wants him to keep playing along. Like Jonathan’s a violin string he’s pulling tighter and tighter, anticipating the point it will snap under its own tension rather than just snipping it and being done. More friendly rambles by the fire. More dainty meals to pretend he can enjoy as the Count watches him eat, chatting all the while. More wandering the locked halls in the day, terror and talks at night, clinging to his journal as his last secret scrap of sanity, praying that at least remains unknown to the Count, lest it be stolen too.

Do you think he worries about that? One morning, he cannot find the diary on his person. The Count walks in, tutting him over yet another affront to friendship--More shorthand secrets? For shame, Jonathan.--and burning the volume as he did the letters. I bet he sleeps with that journal closer to him than the crucifix.

In short, Shit Is Getting Extremely Real for our Good Friend, Jonathan Harker, and everyone should be ready for their heart and stomach to fall through the floor during his ensuing entries after this point

Her white nightdress was smeared with blood, and a thin stream trickled down the man's bare breast which was shown by his torn-open dress."

Top right: "Her face was ghastly, with a pallor which was accentuated by the blood which smeared her lips and cheeks and chin; from her throat trickled a thin stream of blood; her eyes were mad with terror. Then she put before her face her poor crushed hands... and from behind them came a low desolate wail".

Bottom left: "She shuddered and was silent, holding down her head on her husband's breast. When she raised it, his white night-robe was stained with blood where her lips had touched, and where the thin open wound in her neck had sent forth drops."

i’m doing!! a little challenge!! kind of. i really want to move along in eden’s gameplay and get them a partner, but i have no idea what kind of partner would suit them. 

i’ve decided to do a bit of a lazy take on the bachelorette challenge where i’ll take other people’s sims, put them into a group and have them go and hang out at different places and see who eden takes a liking to the most. there won’t be any rose ceremonies or eliminations so to speak, they’ll all just hang out and get to know each other. if other peoples sims fall for another person’s sim, then those two will become partners too and be friends with eden and their partner!

i originally wanted them to have a werewolf gf BUT i want to keep things interesting for this, so any occult or human sim is fine!!

sims will only be using their everyday, swimwear and party(or formal) so if you don’t want to do all categories, just these ones are fine!

cc is accepted but my mods folder if like 60gb so minimal cc would be nice, but it’s ok if not. just no alpha hair please!

you can provide as much or as little about your sim as you want, considering this isn’t a full-fledged challenge. sexuality & pronouns would be nice to know, though!

i don’t really want to turn this too much into an actual challenge so i wouldn’t say there are any rules, i don’t mind what traits are given and how many sims are submitted as i plan on using a mod to get as many of them together as possible (but still within reason so things don’t get too laggy). i will of course be posting everything i can, but there’ll be no ceremonies and poses will only be used to “enhance” what’s already happened in game (if that makes sense? basically i won’t be making up situations with poses). the sim that ends up as eden’s partner will be a part of the official legacy!

HELLO ITS TIME FOR THE SURPRISE LOSERS CHAOS BRACKET OF CALAMITY TO ENTERTAIN YALL DURING THE SEMIFINALS AND FINALS

So basically idek how to explain how this is gonna work well because its chaos and calamity just like my brain BUT I'll try SO for round one of the losers bracket I have 150 characters, all the losers from the first round PLUS late submissions PLUS the dubious and non-skeletons who didn't get into the main bracket. That is SEVENTY FIVE polls of two which will be ENTIRELY RANDOMLY GENERATED AND WILL BE POSTED THROUGHOUT THE NEXT LIKE 2 DAYS TEN POLLS EVERY FIVE HOURS SO I APOLOGIZE TO ANYONE WHO HAS NOTIFICATIONS ON I RECOMMEND NOT DOING THAT UNLESS YOU'RE REALLY EXCITED FOR THIS

After that round, there will be those 75 winners PLUS the 32 losers from round two which is 107 characters which is ODD so I will be taking out the character with the most votes from L1 and plopping them in the corner for a round (this pattern will continue I'm sorry) which leaves me with 106 characters and FIFTY THREE POLLS which will again be COMPLETELY RANDOMIZED ONCE AGAIN leaving me with 54 characters (pulling that one out of the corner from before)

Round three shall be those 54 characters PLUS the 16 losers from main round three which will be 70 characters slash 35 polls (once again, completely randomized) leaving us with 35 characters. Once again, the highest voted will be plopped in the corner so we have an even 34 characters

Round four will be Those 34 plus the 8 losers from main round four will give us 42 characters and 21 polls, leaving us with 22 characters at the end (adding back the corner babe)

Round five will be those 22 characters plus the 4 losers from main round five so 26 characters and 13 polls, once again leaving us with a Corner Blorbo

Edit: Round five will have two surprise characters added in, so 14 polls

Round six will then have 16 characters (adding in the two from the semifinals), leaving us a perfect bracket amount henceforth!

And the winner of the loser bracket shall go against the winner of the main bracket!

I hope this makes sense I barely have the plan together I promise it will make even less sense as it goes :3

Forest Mystery 10

"Okay, bye! If you want to hold it later, come to the Education Center!" you say cheerfully as you begin to walk back down the road and in the direction of the Education Center. You really don't want to be alone in the woods after having an interaction with several armed men who are definitely doing illegal activities. "Oh boy, Northern Ribbon Snake, we're really in it now," you whisper to the snake as you go.

You need to do Something. What should you do? What can you do? Bad things are happening in the woods, and they shouldn't! It is your job to protect the forest and the people who go to it, and those guys were shady as heck! Talking about a ritual and someone getting eaten or something... crazy! Bad! Don't like that! But what can you do about it? You're just a forest ranger up against what appears to be an entire operation. Maybe even a cult! Can you do this alone? You doubt it. You need help.
