     so the last post made on the blog i scraped up was three years ago. i was a part of it on my very first rp blog, olimar, and i just scrolled through that personal hell to find it so you better be thankful. it was called the royal nintendo academy apparently, definitely forgot that, and the url for the old blog was royalnintendo if you feel so inclined to check out the graveyard. i remember having so much fun with that verse, one of my first really solid character relations came from it! i would love to do something similar to that...

[ IN WHICH SHADOW DOESN’T DIE AT THE END OF SA2 . WHICH IS TO MEAN THIS IS A WORLD IN WHICH SHADOW DOESN’T ATTEMPT TO KILL HIMSELF . ]

    Shadow’s slipping now; he can feel the artificial fingers of his Super form loosening their grip on him. The world begins to blur at the edges. For a moment the silver-yellow hue of his quills dips. He feels the Chaos pulling away from his body and back into the world -- somewhere, very far away, he hears Sonic shout some unheard quip at the Biolizard.

    Blinking through blurry vision, Shadow attempts to reel himself back into his Super form. His body complies, barely, and he feels himself lurch back into life. Somewhere equally far away the Biolizard screams and he feels its pain in his chest -- I’M SORRY . This shouldn’t be happening, but it is.

“Let’s double team it, Shads!” Sonic says and suddenly the yellow-hued hedgehog is besides him, an eager thumbs up, “There’s no way that thing can survive the two of us!” That thing.

That thing -- I’m a thing, too -- but Shadow nods. He can feel Sonic’s energy feeding into his own. Their energy signatures are so similar -- always have been, but even more so now that they are sharing this same state of amplification. Part of Shadow absolutely despises it. But Sonic looks at him with such hope and vigor and Shadow doesn’t feel as if he deserves a second chance, for bloodying Maria’s legacy like that, he wants space to swallow him whole and destroy everything Gerald Robotnik ever built.

Sonic grabs his arm. Shadow’s gaze snaps upwards. “Hey -- come on -- you know I’ve got’cha, right?”

All that bleeds away. Shadow stares back at Sonic, not sure what else to say, wanting to recoil and say that no one’s got him, but Sonic sees through his mask and speaks up before Shadow gets the chance. “You deserve another shot, Shadow. What sorta Ultimate Lifeform gives up like that?”

He’s right.

Shadow won’t say good-bye today; if only to live up to his moniker. He feels Sonic’s grip tighten on his arm, grinning, words flying out of his mouth, “Let’s stop this thing -- together !” Shadow knows that Sonic knows that Shadow’s dipping in and out of his Super form. That any second now he’ll go hurtling through the atmosphere. “Afterwards you can spend your time sulking. But you can’t give up,” and Shadow thinks Sonic tosses in a ‘faker’ because of course he does, but it doesn’t really matter anymore, because again -- Sonic is right. Shadow will live today.

You know what’s disheartening? Joining an RPC and wanting to play your favorite characters, but people mixing OOC and IC and using their character as a chance to bash both you and your choice in characters.

I’ve seen this shit so many times, and it was rampant in the last RPC I was in. To the point where I felt exhausted trying to get any of my other characters to interact. 

Are Orbot and Cubot comic relief in the series they’re from? Yes. Would your characters know that just out of the blue? NO THEY WOULDN’T. So then why is your character ridiculing mine? Why are you telling me “your characters are too silly” for this plot. 

You know me? You’ve known me for HOW LONG? You know I can adapt to pretty much any situation. And yet pulling that crap on your RP partners, new or old, is NOT cute, and it’s NOT respectful. 

You can be selective, sure, but don’t mix ooc and ic in a flimsy excuse to try to get out of telling someone directly you don’t want to interact. 

Nothing killed my muse for Shadow faster than joining an RP discord with him and every time he said anything, like 30 alternates of SANS UNDERTALE kept saying “WOW IT’S SHADOW THE EDGEHOG” imsorry but. why would you know that ?

tl;dr

dont make people feel like shit for who they’re playing and don’t use your character as a mouthpiece to be a huge dickhole
