Dear Mr. and Mrs. Ashbury,

First, allow me to apologise for everything that’s happened to both you and your family. I truly cannot imagine living in your position, and I have nothing but respect for your unwavering determination in seeing your children to good health.

Your son has been recovering quite well. The blood transfusions were successful, and he recently awoke with, for what we can tell, a sane mind. Occasional bouts of delusions still haunt his psyche, but it’s nothing we cannot work with.

Sadly, I cannot say the same for your daughter. Her self-inflicted mutilations were rather difficult to contain, but we have managed to get her into a semi stable condition. Her mind, however, seems to be broken beyond any conceivable repair. While we are trying our hardest to find a suitable treatment for her psychosis, we have decided to move her to a more secure position, to avoid her harming herself or others to any further extent. The harm she has caused to doctors and nurses here at the clinic cannot be ignored, as much as I want to help her. I must protect the lives of my colleagues before anything else. For clarification, please contact Officer Morris and Officer Hawthorne at the Langbourne Police Station.

Character Day - Umair

I'm going to start my character spotlight day with an odd one, just to try it out a little and see if I can find my groove on what I want to do.

Umair is currently not attached to any particular IP, though he loosely could exist in the universe of Psalms from the Mountaintop, depending on how I use him.

A young man of science, Umair feels out of place in the world - though it may have to do with the fact that he's not quite human. He feels a polarized connection to the deep sea and to the outer reaches of space, capable of breathing underwater but uncertain of if it's home. He can thrive upon land, though he is in constant need of moisturizing his skin.

His love of science, of math, of understanding the way the world works at it's most fundamental levels, has been a passion for as long as he can remember.

Umair is positive, inquisitive, and passionate. He is shy and friendly, and tends to dress modestly in any attempt to repel the stares his appearance typically brings. His skin is a leafy green, and his features are amphibious in nature, with large eyes that can see underwater and in the dark and not a hair on his head (or body, for that matter). His ability to breathe underwater makes being in water more comfortable, though he has never seen a creature quite like him in the oceans, begging his questions of who he is and where he comes from. He has no blood relatives, and he grew up first rejected within orphanage walls, then on his own once he reached adulthood.

It was only after he began to put himself out there socially that any luck came his way; he may not have the answers he seeks, but since volunteering at his local library and tutoring students at the university he graduated from, he found himself making friends, finding his own found-family, and even falling in love.

A discarded audio transcription was found in a cabin in Rosewood National Park. Multiple tears, creases, and weathering littler the paper from its exposure to the vast foliage and animal life that had found its way into the cabin. Only a simple note labels it. "Rosewood Investigation Interview - L. Smith"

Q: Is there anyone you believe would wish to harm Mrs. Marigold?

A: Heavens no! I don't think she had a mean bone in her body. Unless she was truly caught up in something she shouldn't have been, then I can't see who would sincerely wish her ill intent.

Q: Leading up to the first disappearance, did you notice anything strange?

A: Yes. People kept receiving strange notes and plants. It was keeping a lot of people on edge! No one was entirely sure if they were meant to be threats or strange gifts. I'm fairly certain it caused a few arguments between coworkers.

Q: Can you tell me what the notes consisted of?

A: Most of them were only a few words. Like "Wither", "Rot", or in Mrs. Marigold's case, "Bloom". It was typed out so it made it difficult to narrow down who it might be.

Q: What of the plants?

A: Ah yes! They were some sort of root I think. They had strange thorns on them like a rose. We haven't been able to identify them yet, but Mrs. Marigold seemed to recognize them.

Q: Did Mrs. Marigold say anything about how she recognized these notes or plants before her disappearance?

A: Yes. She said they matched something she'd seen Mr. Eldrich watering in his office.

Q: What was Mr. Eldrich's reaction to this?

A: Surprisingly, calm. He told us that whoever must have done it must have taken the root from his office. Although, I do have to admit that sounds... too convenient.

Q: Do you believe that Mr. Eldrich may have been lying?

A: I'm not sure.

Celebrate the birthday of the Archer and ‘Wendigo’ of May 31. For your viewing pleasure I gift you with their limited S-skins:

Archer - Deceived Hunter : A once traveled adventurer unknowingly got caught up in a long forgotten fight between Spirit and Nature. Thinking that the side they were in was right, they failed to realize that they played right into the hands of a mischievous woman. No matter how smart an adventurer thinks they are there is always someone willing to puppet the strong.

 ’Wendigo’ - Longing Protector : A child’s imagination is said to be the most powerful thing in the world - it is unfortunately true. Spirits aren’t born evil as they grow in their surroundings but sometimes, people are unfortunate to wake up the wrong spirits. Sometimes they cannot let go of what they lost - a cycle they repeat again and again.

Archer’s birthday letter

To my children, 

You must always listen. Keep your wits about you as you travel through the forest and remember that no matter how long you’ve lived here and call it home - it is never home.

Not fully.

We share this forest with the spirit and that spirit will be watching us, always. It waits and lingers for the day we slip up and take one foot off the path our previous fathers have meticulously set for us. Our duty is to keep the spirit from entering another body as its has long decayed and needs a new host.

Never go off the path. 

Hunters come and they go mentally and we must be their last escape. We will do whatever we can to keep the spirit from inhabiting another person. There is no telling what it would do if it ever got a body again.

It might even go after the tribe should it escape the vast forest.

I cannot stress it enough - do not go off the path.

To the eldest two, watch out for the youngest. A young mind can easy fall victim to the spirit who will do what it can to mark a potential body, should that happen we must be ready to do what we can.

'Wendigo’s character day letter

There is no word from the forest guardians for over three months. The youngest two children were the only ones to appear at that time. Trackers had been sent to see if any of the forest guardians had survived what the two call a bear attack - we haven’t heard from them yet.

I fear the implications of why nobody has returned in this time frame but I hope that if it was a bear attack that it ate the guardians, everything and all. For their spirits to rest and go to peace. For now, the tribe watches over the two children as we wait for anyone to come out and take them. I remember hearing the shaman tell them that they should stop sending guardians inside because one day the spirit would claim them.

He was right.

Now…we wait to see if the spirit wants to come back for revenge or if the guardian’s spirit is stronger than the spirit.

I think I’ll take looking after the two forest guardians. Who knows what troubles them if they’re not looked over constantly…they’re still only babies and having to see such a thing…

June 13, XXXX

It's also my birthday today. Usually, I find myself caught up in some sort of festivities, even if it's just for myself. However, this year I can't find the energy to. I don't feel as though I should celebrate my life. It feels like a mockery to those who died not long ago.

It's only been a week since the attack from that - thing. People lying dead out in the streets and in their homes...I haven't been able to sleep much if at all. When I close my eyes, I feel as though I'm still there. the screaming, the blood staining my clothing, not being able to get myself to leave for help, all of it. I've also been scared of Jamie recently. He's been in some sort of trance for days, muttering something I can never quite fully hear. The only time I had, it was about the Shadow Monster speaking to him while he was asleep. That didn't help my sleep either.

This portion of the notebook was stained with some sort of soot-like substance. The rendering rest of the entries as illegible.
