Can we talk about this? By 'this' I mean the changes in Buster between Sing 1 and Sing 2 because it simply MUST be addressed.
HIS FUR. In the first movie, it clearly looks rougher and more coarse than in the second one - where it looks soft and thick. Now, as a major animal nerd pursuing veterinary business, I can tell you that the healthier an animal('s diet) is, the softer and shinier their fur is! This is especially true for cats, dogs, horses, and rabbits. I'll bet that since Nana swooped in and saved the theater, Buster's had more money for decent food. Plus, Rosita is always making sure he eats and doesn't stay up all night chugging caffeine.
2. BEHAVIOR. Overall, our koala seems to be the same energetic fur-ball from the first movie, right? Wrong. Paying close attention, in the second movie he is MORE motivated, MORE confident, MORE determined, and we see so much COMPASSION in him in the second movie, especially in the Rosita scenes and I LOVE IT. We also see another side of him. Insecurity. He is easily discouraged by criticism (COMFORT DRAWER- COMFORT DRAWER-) but he is also great at bouncing right back up directly afterward! Love that!
3. MASS. Clearly, more mass has been added to his cheeks by the animators, and he seems to have gained a little weight. However, he is bound to lose some after the trauma in Redshore (if the animators actually take the trauma into account and show that, I will cry with joy. I love those kinds of details.)
4. ENERGY. He seems so much more energetic to me! Especially when he sees Ash - THEY ARE SO CUTE! They are best friends, and that dynamic is just so cute. That girl got a dad she never asked for ^^
5. STRESS. We see a totally different way of being stressed out than in the first movie. In the first movie, he kind of... panics? In the second, it changes. It's clear he has to really try, but he acts much more level-headed in the second movie (I'll bet Eddie helped him-) instead of panicking, he tries his best to just SOLVE the situation rather than stress out over it. I do wish the stress and anxiety that was so obviously difficult for him to handle had been addressed more - even if only by a few scraps of dialogue between him and a worried friend. The closest thing we see from the group in worry for him is some concerned expressions from Johnny and Meena when Crystal rubs Buster's head (which Buster is clearly uncomfortable with).
6. TRAUMA RESPONSE+. So, Buster has clearly been shaken up by Jimmy before Jimmy even tried to kill him the FIRST time. At Calloway's, when he wakes up and Clay growls at him, he flinches and looks afraid. Buster also displays deep discomfort at the presence of Jimmy, or even the mention of him. And when Jimmy tries to kill him at the show? He's clearly terrified and basically having a panic attack... yet he still tells everyone he's never been better. AND WHY WAS CRAWLY THE ONLY ONE WHO ASKED? AND WHY DID THEY ALL JUST BELIEVE HIM? THERE WAS STILL PANIC IN HIS VOICE.

Hi there, its Athena for Sunday Ask-A-Thon week 2 at @ask-a-thon: Do your ocs have a favourite drink, alcoholic and non-alcoholic?
Hi. Thanks for the ask. :)
Yes. Yune is partial to the Virudian Hyper Zone. It's a fizzy alcoholic drink with a lauberry and cream flavor. (A lauberry is a strawberry). Despite it sounding like a "chick drink," it's strong. Three glasses will knock him on his ass.
He hit that point once, but doesn't remember what happened, and those around him couldn't explain it. He had the worst hangover of his life. After that, he swore he'd stop at 2.
It's very rare that he drinks, so his tolerance isn't high. He doesn't like the taste of alcohol. That's the only drink he's found that doesn't taste like crap.
Other than that, he is most definitely a coffee whore. My mans is addicted to caffeine. He has a Darkmatter app on his pad that he keeps currency loaded onto (like the Starbucks app). It's not unusual to find discarded to-go black and white coffee cups around the ship.
His favorite Darkmatter drink is the Endless Void. It's a house brew that can be refilled as many times as you want for a day - 28 hours - starting from the time of purchase. To get a refill, you have to show your proof of purchase each time.
He let Terra have some coffee in the novel. She loved it. He created a monster with a hyperactive 10 year old. :)
Selka's favorite drink is lauberry tea. She likes coffee - and also has a Darkmatter account through their app - but she's not as lost in the bean water as her best friend, Yune, is. She doesn't drink alcohol. It goes against the Ai Hiri code. (She's an Ai Hiri sen - the knight level of the order she was born and raised in. Only felorians with an existing family line in the Ai Hiri, or possess more mental abilities than an average felorian can join the Ai Hiri. They can be accepted into the order at any age.)
Alcohol messes with her control over her abilities.
Will's favorite drink is hot chocolate.
Terra likes lauberry lemonade, but now coffee is at the top of her list.

Montgomery Parr-Teague
Tumblr media
So the My Darling universe has been in progress for like a decade? now, and we've gained lots of new friendly faces along the way. Either way, I feel like this might be useful, after @zosa95 asked me for a synopsis on Montgomery Parr-Teague, since his backstory was established so long ago. Despite being a relatively small character, he plays a pretty big part, so there's lots of information here. His story seems all over the place, I really tried to condense it into one post, so other storylines that aren't strictly related to Monty have been left out. Feel free to pick out whatever you need. ♥
Over a century ago, Montgomery Parr-Teague captured the heart of young Donna Grace Wellington. Despite the fact that Montgomery came from a wealthy family, he was fairly rebellious and had the reputation of the town troublemaker, which caused Donna's cold and strict parents to forbid her from seeing him.
Tumblr media
Donna and Montgomery were ansty teenagers, and rebelled against her parents by running away together and eloping with a small ceremony.
They planned to move far away together in the Winter, by hitching a ride with a group of settlers in a covered wagon. Unfortunately, the wagon encountered a horrible accident, and toppled off the side of a cliff, ending the lives of everyone in the wagon except for Donna. Shortly later, Donna also succumbed to the cold and did not survive.
Tumblr media
Many many years passed and Donna was resurrected by the Darling family. She came back with a deep coral coloring from the magic. Yellow Darling, the generation 3 heir, intended to marry Donna and carry out the legacy with her.
Tumblr media
While Donna and Yellow were falling deeply in love, they had no idea Montgomery had also been resurrected… several times, actually. Over the years, a mysterious witch by the name of Evalace Wisteria chose Montgomery and would repeatedly resurrect him whenever she saw fit. Evalace was a cold woman; heartless, and manipulative, but also very physically striking. This was a dangerous, yet alluring recipe that kept Montgomery hooked like a drug. She admittedly only resurrected Montgomery due to his size and stature, and only used him to do her dirty work. She made him feel needed, but just as soon as he wasn't, she'd end his life with the flick of her wand, only to bring him back when he was again necessary. This became a vicious cycle. Montgomery became infatuated with Evalace but his love had always gone unrequited. The two of them travelled the world together and eventually found a comfortable existence in Dragon Valley, a place where Montgomery's deep red coloring wouldn't stand out too much.
Tumblr media
Just when Donna became a regular part of the Darling household (and was even given spellcasting abilities!), by looking through old photo albums she soon found out Montgomery had been resurrected, seeing him in the background of Persephone and Bo's honeymoon photos. She became deeply conflicted, but ultimately decided that because she once vowed to be his for all of eternity, being with Montgomery was the right thing to do. It brought her a lot of sorrow to leave Yellow and the rest of the Darlings, and it devastated Yellow.
Tumblr media
Montgomery found out through Evalace that his wife was alive, and that she would soon be reunited with him. Evalace, however, had a dark and sinister plan to keep herself immortal: a rare and horrifying potion that uses the first born child of a reawakened couple. This plan made Montgomery incredibly uncomfortable, and he tried desperately to talk her out of it. He told her that he'd rather grow old together with her, and that she didn't have to be immortal, but at that point he'd do anything to keep her happy. Thus, he reluctantly obliged in hopes of winning Evalace's love and approval.
Tumblr media
Montgomery and Donna reunite and began their new lives together, once again as husband and wife. Eventually Donna became pregnant. This was supposed to be an intentional baby, but Donna was shattered. Learning she was pregnant only made her realize that Yellow was her true soulmate, and that she'd made a huge mistake.
Tumblr media
Donna nervously confessed to Montgomery that she was pregnant, but also that she was still in love with Yellow Darling. She apologized profusely, but assured him she was willing to make it work. Montgomery was surprisingly understanding, and the guilt became too much for him to bear, so he warned Donna of Evalace's plan. The two of them agreed that Donna should run away that night, and so she did.
Tumblr media
The Darlings found out about Evalace's plan, and Yellow and Kirsten Darling traveled to Dragon Valley to stop her and save Donna. Donna had already escaped, and an altercation ensued. Evalace found out that Montgomery tipped Donna off and killed him on the spot, before she was killed by Kirsten in a duel moments after. That was the last time we've seen or heard from Montgomery until he made his return in Red Wolf Fury.

Last year, I had the opportunity to design this rabbit character - her name is Dart - for Tether Studios (where I am an Art Lead.) She was for a project which got cancelled, but I'm happy that I get to share her anyhow.
This first image is Dart on the game's app icon. Second is her on our splash screen, several more poses for her, and then a whole bunch of iteration for the character. She started out as a he, more of a mad scientist influenced by Disney's White Rabbit and Back to the Future's Doc Brown. Eventually the design became more streamlined and futuristic and we eventually gave her a more futuristic uniform (this influenced by Starfleet uniforms) for her role as part of a benevolent time-traveling agency. And because this was for a free-to-play mobile game, there were a lot of gold coins involved somehow.

Good Traits Gone Bad
Exploring good traits gone bad in a novel can add depth and complexity to your characters. Here are a few examples of good traits that can take a negative turn:
1. Empathy turning into manipulation: A character with a strong sense of empathy may use it to manipulate others' emotions and gain an advantage.
2. Confidence becoming arrogance: Excessive confidence can lead to arrogance, where a character belittles others and dismisses their opinions.
3. Ambition turning into obsession: A character's ambition can transform into an unhealthy obsession, causing them to prioritize success at any cost, including sacrificing relationships and moral values.
4. Loyalty becoming blind devotion: Initially loyal, a character may become blindly devoted to a cause or person, disregarding their own well-being and critical thinking.
5. Courage turning into recklessness: A character's courage can morph into reckless behavior, endangering themselves and others due to an overestimation of their abilities.
6. Determination becoming stubbornness: Excessive determination can lead to stubbornness, where a character refuses to consider alternative perspectives or change their course of action, even when it's detrimental.
7. Optimism becoming naivety: Unwavering optimism can transform into naivety, causing a character to overlook dangers or be easily deceived.
8. Protectiveness turning into possessiveness: A character's protective nature can evolve into possessiveness, where they become overly controlling and jealous in relationships.
9. Altruism becoming self-neglect: A character's selflessness may lead to neglecting their own needs and well-being, to the point of self-sacrifice and burnout.
10. Honesty becoming brutal bluntness: A character's commitment to honesty can turn into brutal bluntness, hurting others with harsh and tactless remarks.
These examples demonstrate how even admirable traits can have negative consequences when taken to extremes or used improperly. By exploring the complexities of these traits, you can create compelling and multi-dimensional characters in your novel.
Happy writing!

What is your favorite past time?
Sipping from his goblet of wine, he thinks for while, before answering. "Enjoying joys of life, as much as circumstances allow, be it simply relishing this wine, a stroll through the forest or a ride on the back of my elk. I do like to take walks in the forests surrounding this place in any season, just to watch the beauty each season or even the time od the day brings. Would you like to accompany me on such stroll, dear Greycloak?"

Early visual development for Wish (2023) by Griselda Sastrawinata-Lemay and Brittney Lee.
An earlier version of the film saw Star take on a human form as a magical, glowing character inspired by Peter Pan. Ultimately, the creative team reconceptualized Star as an ethereal, playful entity resembling Mickey Mouse. "Now Star and Asha have an emotional journey. They are soulmates." -Allison Moore.
