I have been reading some of the Sonic IDW comics and I flipping love Surge, so I decided to try modelling her. Pretty pleased with the end result of both the modelling and texturing, definitely given me a lot to think about.
[Image Description: An anthropomorphic tenrec with bright green fur and a patch of black fur on her face and eyelids, with angular blue-green eyes. She has a peach muzzle with a medium-long black nose, upturned sideburns on each side of her head, peach-skinned arms, and several spiky quills that she keeps in a ponytail by a black hairband with six metal studs on top of her head, leaving her quills turned forward.
In picture one she is standing with her arms folded and looking down at the camera from an angle. In picture two she is standing straight and slamming her fists together.]
One more pic and videos down below the cut:
[Image Description: In picture three she is standing in an aggressive way with arms wide at her side.
The ensuing videos are her adopting a pose with one fist on her hip and the other hand hanging loose at her side and the other is that same stance but spinning in place.]
I made some more progress with this sculpt last night. During this session I created my own MatCap, adjusted the shoulders, defined the feet, and smoothed out a few rough areas.
The MatCap was easier to create than I thought. Made it in Procreate and it easily loaded in Nomad. It made a big difference in helping me see areas of the sculpt that needed modification. In the next session I plan to make some adjustments to the armpit, back, and ears.
I've been tinkering with this sculpt in Nomad as a way to unwind, but I will work on wrapping it up by the end of the month. Hopefully, by then, I'll have a few other characters in the pipeline to fill the void.
My first complete 3D character sculpt/model: my Pathfinder PC, Isedri! She's an Aasimar Dark Tapestry Oracle. This is her design from the third "season" of our game, Age of Penance (art project in the works!)
I did this over a year ago and I've definitely improved since then, but I'm proud of it nonetheless!
A series of school uniforms I design for Miko for a potential fanzine I wanna create that centers her time in Japan before she came to Jasper, Nevada (pre-TFP, ofc).
In my sketchbook, I started off drawing her in a basic sailor uniform until I rewatched TFP recently and she states in S1E2 that she "went to the best schools". A prestigious Japanese school would most likely not have a basic sailor uniform, so I drew up three more designs.
Which ones do y'allz like them most? Me, I personally like the third uniform since it incorporates bits of her color palette from her original look in the show.
