bright, round, purple eyes that seem to always have a glint of mischievousness in them.

short black hair which is shaped into a pixie cut with bangs and long pieces that frame her face, which she either wears with ribbons at the end or braided.

a fair complexion with scars here and there from her battles; small freckles are visible on her face during summer.

small & athletic

➥ What is listening to their voice like?:

sipping a warm cup of your favorite tea while lying in bed and listening to the raging thunder storm outside while a lo-fi compilation plays in the background.

Although she's learned to live with it, Shiemi still hates being deaf.

Shiemi's never really had the time to date, but she's had crushes in the past. She definitely isn't opposed to going on dates, either.

Not anyone that she didn't cut off on purpose, but recently she lost Gojo, her mentor and best friend.

sounds that make her ears vibrate.

oh yes, plenty.

I primi tre e la novel sono editi in Italia da Panini Comics.

Nel 2011 sono stati prodotti anche un film live-action e un social game.

Sumiko initiates their first kiss

Anime reference: say I love you/sukitte ii na yo

A few months into dating, Sumiko and Matteo never really acted like typicals couples do. You know, the kind that spend almost 24/7 with each other and cling to one another.

No, they were more just casually dating. Though did like using the labels boyfriend and girlfriend, they went on dates occasionally and always gave each other a good amount of space.

Mainly because Matteo is aware Sumiko still isn’t used to whole dating concept yet, and wants her to ease into it on her own (with his help sometimes). So usually he leaves her be while he goes and socializes with his friends.

But recently, she’s been feeling a little worried as she watched him socialize with all the girls who stared at him with hearts in their eyes, flirting with him while he remained unfazed by it all.

Unsure of what she was feeling inside, she goes to her cousin Hiroko that day and explains the situation.

“So... you’re worried about the distance between you and Matteo might end with you two breaking up?” she asks and Sumiko nods silently

“And you’re scared that he might start flirting with the other girls who flirt with him?”

Sumiko nods again. Hiroko stares silently at her cousin for a moment before smiling “Sumi, you’re just experiencing a little jealousy. Why don’t you try and talk to him about it?”

Sumiko swallows hard as she rapidly shakes her head “I can’t do that! He’ll think I’m being too clingy or possessive or that I’m overreacting!”

Hiroko then rests a hand on Sumiko’s shoulder “Sumi, you two barely talk to each other during school, let alone PDA. I’m sure he would never see you as possessive or clingy or overreacting.” Seeing her face unchanging from a worried expression, she continued “Hey, if he really loves you, he would understand how you feel. Heck, he’s thinking the same way as you right now.”

Sumiko gives her a look of confusion “What makes you say that?”

"Oh, Yuuto told me he’s thinking the same thing, but doesn’t want to come off as pushy. He knows you’re not used to having someone be so kind and loving to you.”

“Oh....” Sumiko mumbles as she lowers her head and takes a deep breathe “I know what to do tomorrow.”

The next day...

Once the class was dismissed for lunch, Sumiko turned to Matteo’s direction and saw there were already people talking to him. Her heart pounded as she grew nervous.

Come on, Miko, you can do it! Talk to your boyfriend!

Gathering the courage, she walks up to him and taps him on the shoulder, greeted by the delighted look in his green-brown eyes as he turned around to look at her.

‘Hi Miko!” he says in a cheerful tone “Is there something you need.”

Heaving out a sigh, she takes his hand and says in a monotone voice “We need to talk. Privately.”

Matteo suddenly felt his stomach sink at her words as they walked together out of the classroom and somewhere quiet, the voices of the other students gossiping behind them.

Oh god, oh god, oh god. What could she want?

“M-Miko?”

“Hm?”

“What do you need to talk about?”

“You’ll know once we’re completely alone.”

He then started slowly using the process of elimination until he came down to the one option he dreaded the most.

Is she... Is she going to break up with me? Oh god, she’s gonna break up with me, isn’t she?

He began to panic once she stopped walking and turned around to face him, the look she had on her face didn’t help as he began to tear up while explaining “Miko, please don’t. I’m sorry I haven’t been a good boyfriend, but I just didn’t want to make you uncomfortable by forcing you to spend time with me-”

He immediately stops in his tracks as he watched her grab his arm and wrap her hand around his tie, yanking it out of his uniform blazer before using it to pull him into a kiss. His face heated up as he processed the feeling of her soft lips on his and melted.

Our... first kiss.

They stayed like that for a while until she let go of his tie and pulled away to look at him, smiling. Dazed, he blinks before realizing she was staring at him.

“I... What? He mumbled, still surprised as the blush on his face spread to his ears. Giggling soft, Sumiko placed her hands on his shoulders and pulled him closer.

“I’m sorry I scared you, I just wanted to try and test the waters.” She explains “I was kinda worried that because of how little time we spend together, you’d start flirting with all the others who want you. I was scared that if I did anything, it would repulse you. But when I found out you were feeling the same way, I wanted to reassure you.”

Matteo stared at her for a moment “So... We were both worried for nothing?” he then starts laughing before pulling her into a hug “I’m so glad. I was scared you were going to break up with me.”

Sumiko smiles as she returns the hug “I could never do that, Matteo. You’re too special to me.”

They then share another kiss before walking back towards their classroom, hand in hand
