i think a lot about hot sauce and jeannemary. two young girls so ready to kill and to die. a comparison made all the worse when you recall that hot sauce lost all her family to the cohort, that she can specifically recall fourth style necromancy (using corpses as bombs). a fourteen and thirteen year old that could easily have been on opposite sides of the same front line.

I made a Nona fragrance! This scent is more inspired by Nona than what she actually smells like (probably a bit like dog from seeking out dogs at every opportunity). I think explaining what the exact logic of the notes I picked might be a spoiler so I'll just go ahead and list them

🐕Nona - Sandalwood, dirt, forest floor, grass, honeysuckle, and Indian rose

Happy birthday to Supreme Commander Rho 'Barutamee!

Today is his -455th birthday!

'Barutamee was a Sangheili zealot and Supreme Commander attached to the Ministry of Fervent Intercession. He had the unique honor of housing a Forerunner Luminary--a rare device that can reveal the location of other Forerunner relics. During his career, he learned of Maethrillian, the Forerunner capital world. Locating Maethrillian became his single-minded objective, and he secretly amassed his own collection of artifacts to aide in his search.

He ordered his vessel, Long Night of Solace, to the Epsilon Eridani system, home to the UNSC stronghold of Reach. He was surprised to find a human presence there, and began preparing an assault, but did not set aside his goal of locating relics on Reach.

He sent out a crew of Devoted Sentries to continue the search. However, time began to run short when he learned that the Ministry of Resolution was sending its own fleet to Reach. Not wanting to grant another ministry his findings, and with his fleet facing heavy resistance from the UNSC, his vessel engaged UNSC forces on Reach's surface.

NOBLE team exposed the vessel's location by destroying Spire One. This offered the rare opportunity to destroy the supercarrier, a significant blow to the Covenant assault. NOBLE initiated operations LEFT JAB and UPPER CUT, distracting the Covenant fleet and using that opportunity to detonate a rigged Slipspace drive under the Long Night of Solace. The operation was a success, though Jorge-52 sacrificed himself in the process.

'Barutamee presumably died when the supercarrier was destroyed. His lieutenant would attempt to finish what he started, but by that time it was too late: the Ministry of Resolution arrived.

Since I've had the Hawk Family on the mind lately, it seemed appropriate to draw Ren and her kiddos for Mother’s Day!  I've hinted around with their daughter in pics I've posted on socials, but I don't think I've said too much about their son :)  He comes into the picture when their daughter is about a year old (yeah, he was a "whoops" lol), when the family settles down on the junkyard planet after running for so long.

do you have an oc thats changed very drastically from their first concept, or do they all stay very similar to their first designs?

Most of my ocs have changed very drastically, actually! I tend to reuse and recycle characters as I grow and write different settings with my friends, so a lot of my characters have had a few different iterations.

If you want an easy example that applies to a good chunk of ocs, you can compare a character's designs within my angelverse and netherbound tags, (two very different settings, two very different versions of ocs). Even that is a more recent example though-- fun fact, some of my characters actually started out as wolf ocs on deviantArt.

(funnily enough since I was just talking about him in the other ask, Revel is a good example of this. I dont think I have a pic of his original wolf design and I just threw out a ton of old sketchbooks, but here are some other pics of his development as a character. images below the cut)

This one's from 2013. Imagine this but as a weird skinny demon wolf and you have an idea of his design before that point.

SDAU, Raised By Bears, Chapter 5

“Good job, brother,” Thor smiled as Andy walked into the frat house.  He clapped the pledge on the back, pushing him forward a little bit.  Andy’s brow furrowed as he looked back at the Rho. A few other guys began congratulating him, but Andy’s confusion only grew, “proud of you.”

“What the hell are you guys going on about?”

“Come on,” Thor smirked, playfully punching him, “ I can smell her all over you, pledge…and those hickeys speak for themselves…you nailed that sweet little tart, didn’t you?”

“That’s none of your business.” Andy growled, suddenly feeling self-conscious about his ‘activities’ from the previous night and possessive over his little bear.  His growl pushed through his lips, and he snarled at the way Thor was talking about his sweet little omega.  But Thor only shook his head and began talking to a few other guys. 

Andy was more than overprotective.  He hadn’t mated her, and felt like every male alpha around was a threat.

“What’s he going on about?” Andy asked Curtis.  The other bear sneered momentarily but packed it away.

“Thor only goes after humans,” Bobby smirked, adding himself to the conversation.  He playfully shoved Andy, and the bear froze in his steps as he continued, “guess after your little display, the guys thought you were one of those guys…guess Chris was talking with the others and they were thinking about letting you go…but you went and nailed that chick.  Good job, man.  Way to keep yourself in the game and get laid.”

Andy’s breath hitched in his throat, “What?”

“That jogger,” Lee added with a chuckle, “the one Thor was going feral over…not gonna lie, Barber…a lot of us thought you were species-ist after that comment in the back yard…not that I’d blame ya…you’re a polar bear, right?  Normal for your lot…”

Andy felt his chest tightening. 

All the emotions he felt with her. 

Everything he’d thought about her.

“Andy!” she moaned throatily, her nails digging into his muscular back.  Andy growled against her chest, as his mouth worked needily on nipping at her collar bone.  He was leaving small marks, hickies that would fade in a few days, but they were enough for him in the moment.  Even though he was nearly losing control with her, he promised not to mark her until his first rut with her. 

“That’s it baby,” he growled, thrusting again, “tell me how you want it!”

“THERE!” She gasped, arching into him as he sent another thrust into her, forcing her eyes into the back of her skull as they rolled over the pleasure she was receiving.   But he was addicted to how she felt wrapped around him, how her throaty little moans drove his bear nearly feral as he pounded away inside of her, “oh god…don’t stop. There! Oh, GOD.  RIGHT THERE!  YES!  YES!  YES!”

Andy growled as his knot popped past her entrance and he felt his load shooting into her tight, velvety channel.  His hips stuttered and his head fell forward against her heaving breasts momentarily.  When he looked up, he felt a pride in his chest, seeing her in an orgasmic haze.  Their lips met as he felt the passion in her kiss. 

They’d managed to break a sweat, and had been going at it for hours.  It was so intense that her natural scent started breaking through the chemical barriers inside of her, only confirming Andy’s thoughts on how his little bear was his perfect mate. 

Honey.  Cardamom.  Cinnamon. 

She smelled like fall.  

He gave a soft whimper as his balls emptied into her, his hips continuing to buck in an uneven rhythm as he moved his face towards her neck, burying himself in it to absorb as much of her scent as possible. 

He didn’t even think anything of it when his knot didn’t catch on her ridge, thinking he just didn’t fuck deep enough into her to lock the two of them together.

“She didn’t have an omega’s ridge…”

“Because she’s a fucking human,” Chris chuckled as he pulled his girlfriend onto his lap, “good job though, kid…turns out you’re not a species-ist after all…just have a taste for humans like Thor does.  Good luck though if things with that one don’t work out…I mean, Thor’s tapped most of the human ass on campus.  You two are bound to be eskimo brothers before the end of the semester.”

“You should make it work with her though,” Nat said with a smile, “her family is amazing.”

Andy’s eyes shot to hers, “wait?  You knew her?”

“I know of her…and her family…I mean it’s kind of hard not to,” she smiled, “her older sister was our last president.”

“A human…president of your sorority?”

She laughed, “her sister isn’t human…she was adopted by the family.  Dropped off to their den when she was an infant.  She was an offering from the town.  Guess they had some pretty bad crops the past decade before she was born, so they gave up one of their own.  Been having prosperous crops ever since.”

“So, she-she’s a charity case?”

“Hardly,” Nat scoffed, “she’s the youngest girl of the family so they pay a lot of attention to her, sure…but she’s already made a name for herself without the family.  Her parents are two of the most well-renowned lawyers in the country.  She was the one that caught the error in that bear case about ten years ago.  A nine-year-old, just looking through her parents’ paperwork…she’s famous…”

Andy swallowed, “that was her?  But she completely dismantled the case based on the medical evidence…the prosecution realized that they had the wrong guy halfway through the case.  She’s a gold standard in building up a defense case now.”

“And apparently she only goes for bears…” Chris chuckled, “two of her older brothers were Rhos…real traditionalist family…ironic, right?  Bears adopting a human and expecting her to marry a bear?”

“Hey, judge all you want,” Nat shrugged, “if you two keep hooking up, see if you can convince her to pledge late with us…her parents donated ten k to our sorority when her sister pledged.”

Chris smiled, “yeah…did the same when her brothers pledged Rho.  God, I can’t wait til her next brother pledges with us in a few years…he’s a hell of an athlete…kid’s a freshman playing for varsity.”

But Andy was still hooked on the comment where his little bear turned out to be a human.
