Ravon is in his late 20's (around 26) and he is a wanderer traveling through the Evergreen stopping from town to town with his companion a crow named Caspian. He is just... he's just dramatic. Appearance (physical features, style, etc.):

Kelwyn is a large snake-like being, with four arms and a long snake body in place of her legs. She is primarily shades of blue, with bright golden yellow accents and near-white bands along her body. Her head is shaped like a viper’s, complete with a ridge of sharp scales above each eye, and a pair of 2 inch long fangs at the front of her mouth. She has a tall, golden-yellow fin along her head and neck, which she can easily fold flat, or raise tall. She also has a pair of smaller fins on each cheek, which she can also move. Her upper set of arms have a smooth gradient from the dark blue of her torso, to a shade of lighter blue that matches her markings. Her lower set of arms have a smooth gradient from the dark blue of her torso to the same shade of near-white as her markings.

She is often seen wearing gold-colored spectacles due to her farsightedness. The glasses have a thin chain of the same color connected to them that wraps around her neck, so she doesn’t lose her glasses.

She often wears a soft, light brown robe made of cotton and wool. The robe has warm orange accents in the form of a fabric belt, the cuffs of the upper sleeves, and a connected shawl.

Kelwyn wears three main pieces of jewelry; a necklace, and two rings. The necklace consists of a length of soft brown rope and a golden amulet holding a bright blue stone. The amulet is enchanted to allow easy travel of the planes, and is a gift from her patron, given when she reached level 10. The first of her rings is a Ring of Shooting Stars, found during an expedition into a newly discovered ancient library. It consists of a golden band, holding a single large purple stone in the center, surrounded by six smaller blue stones. The smaller stones become dull whenever one of the ring’s magical charges is used. Her second ring is a Ring of Spell Storing. It consists of a golden band holding 5 purple gems. The gems glow slightly whenever they are holding a spell, and spot glowing when that spell is used. It was created for her by her adoptive father, Garnett Windsor.

Backstory:

Kelwyn doesn’t know who her “true” parents are, as she was found by a group of adventurers as an egg, abandoned in an ancient temple. The adventurers gave the egg to a local mage collage, not knowing that it still held life. The egg was placed under the care of Magus Garnett Windsor Tempendash. Having already been busy with other things at the time, the Magus simply kept the egg in a cushioned display case in his room. Now in a warm and stable environment, the egg slowly began to hatch. A week after being placed in Windsor’s care, the hatchling broke free of her egg in the middle of the night.

The noise of the hatchling falling to the floor startled Windsor awake. He lit the candles in his room with a flick of his hand, pausing when he spotted the little four-armed snake.

[Too long, didn’t write: Windsor basically was like “welp, guess i'm a dad now” and adopted Kelwyn. His own kids had all left the nest by then, so there was plenty of room for her. He’s a great dad to her, and is still alive.]

[She’s technically a mix of wizard and warlock, because of how she was raised. She contacted her patron when she was 19 and tested out an ancient spell she had found in a very dusty book. She kinda messed up the spell, though, causing her to be able to see and hear spirits others normally can’t.]

Personality Traits:

I love learning about new things, partially about other races and sub-races work.

I enjoy puzzles and thinking things through.

I often feel lonely, even when many others are nearby.

I sometimes awaken feeling a sense of lingering emotion, from a dream I can never remember.

Writing Partner and I have fully annotated draft 1.5 and made final decisions about changes that will happen in the next round of edits. Backstory:

Nyx was created in one of the many Synth manufactories, and was soon after placed in one of the learning facilities specifically built to house and teach newly created Synths and other sapient robots. Xey lived a fairly mundane life, with few notable events, before xey joined the recently-established MODE training program.

Nyx spent the next 4 years in the MODE training program, alongside many others who hoped to explore the multiverse. Xey were one of the highest scoring students in xeir classes, and xey were quickly chosen by one of the first multiverse explorers, Az’lier, as his apprentice.

For the next year, Nyx was taught everything Az’lier had learned. A few months into xeir second year under Az’lier’s tutelage, Nyx, Az’lier, and a couple other mentor-trainee pairs visited a previously contacted world, in order to teach the students things they could only learn from experience. During their descent towards their landing area, they were shot at from below, damaging most of the ships. Az’lier’s ship was hit directly inside of one of the engines, causing a catastrophic chain reaction throughout the rest of the ship. It happened far too quickly for Az’lier to escape. The rest of the group managed to escape with only minor wounds.

The group returned, shellshocked, to MODE’s headquarters, and reported what had happened. They were all given an indefinite break from training whilst the incident was investigated. After a few weeks of investigation and paperwork, it was announced that the ones that had fired on the training group were a newly amassed group of xenophobes, and that said xenophobes had all been captured and were being dealt with. MODE provided free therapy for the training group, and were told they could leave the program if they wanted to. Nyx was one of the ones who decided to finish their training, and explore the multiverse no matter what.

Appearance (physical features, style, etc.):

Xey are a synthetic robotic being made out of materials and alloys unique to xeir civilization.

Xeir chassis is made from alloys composed from Aether, Etherium, and Mithril. This makes xeir chassis very durable, and capable of surviving in a complete vacuum, and under up to roughly 450 Earth Atmospheres of pressure (equ. to being roughly 4,000 meters underwater). This causes xem to be nearly immune to many weapons, such as guns, blades, and hammers. Lasers, magic, and certain other weapons are still effective, though. Xeir chassis is a simple gunmetal grey in color.

Xeir chassis is covered in layers of other materials in order to better mimic organic beings, and for personal expression. The near-white areas are covered in a 2 inch thick layer of padding, which is then covered by a quarter-inch thick material that mimics skin. The next shade of blue consists of slightly thicker padding, as well as the skin-like material. The third and fourth shades of blue are, again, thicker and softer than the previous areas, are covered in the skin material, and are the softest and most flexible areas on xeir body, other than xeir joints. Some areas are colored yellow instead of blue, but still have the same composition as the rest.

Xeir visor is made out of a unique material called Holonium, which was created by the Esuvae to act as an extremely durable, flexible, moldable, and transparent replacement for the old glass and plastics used on computer screens. Underneath the holonium visor, xeir “face” is made up of extremely complex digital arrays (aka I don’t know what), as well as a swarm of nanomachines. Despite xeir “eyes” appearing in only one area of the visor, the entire thing acts as one big eye, giving xem an extreme range of vision.

Xeir mouth is just a synthetic replication of an organic mouth. Xey can create an analogue of saliva, taste anything they eat, can eat in the first place, and anything else an organic’s mouth can do. Xey lack lips, though. Xeir mouth also does not contribute to making expressions much, as most of xeir expressions are made with xeir visor display body movements, and sounds.

The smoke-like stuff along xeir head, neck, and tail is actually a mix of the byproducts created by xeir power core, and a dense swarm of nanomachines tasked with purifying these byproducts. The nanomachines also take some of the usable byproducts and transforms them into energy that they then use to continue their job for longer before having to recharge. The appearance is a side effect of this process. The smoke is emitted from exhaust ports hidden between xeir neck and tail plates.

The two trios of dots on xeir face are extra exhaust ports, in order to help avoid overheating. The smoke emitted from these ports can change in appearance depending on how dense it is. It only matches xeir “hair” if it is extremely dense.

Xeir clothing is primarily made out of a nanoscopic weave of Aether and a material similar to a mix of cotton and wool. The Aether in the fabric causes it to have a subtle iridescent sheen. The belt buckle and pin are both made out of a simple Aether and steel alloy. The pin shows the symbol of the organization Nyx works for, MODE (Multiversal Omnipurpose Discovery and Exploration). Xeir belt buckle shows the flag of The Esuvae Collective.

Xeir wings and jets are a separate set of equipment that xey normally keep stored in xeir ship. The majority of the jets, and the arms of the wings, are both made out of a Duranium and Etherium alloy. The wings provide no propulsion, and are only used to control flight movements. The jets provide all of the thrust. The jets are powered by Nyx’s power core, but they utilize the power differently, causing the output to look like a pastel rainbow. The wing arms emit hard-light constructs.

The Cruel Prince ~1~

So recently I started this book and I have no idea what chapter I am on as I am reading online and it does not tell me for some reason. But it is very good.

Anyways, this book is about a girl named Jude, who is born human but lives in Faerieland (the place where faeries and such live). She wants to become a knight but as a human in Faerieland it is difficult for her to accomplish her goal. She is very stubborn and determined but this makes her stand out in ways that will not benefit her.

Now what I think without any spoilers:

I typically enjoy books with faes and other worlds, so that makes me like this book already. The main character is very relatable in a sense because her emotions are prominent and yet confusing even to her. This is just what I think about the main character.

While there is also her sisters Vivienne, or Vivi, and Taryn, her twin. Vivi has a more minor role in comparison to Taryn but she appears very strong-minded and willed. Taryn confuses me a little as she is just set on falling in love. But they are both good characters and Jude loves them because they are her sisters. Jude also has a younger half brother named Oak. He's also a minor character but he seems very cute so far, but also, as most children, naïve.

Now we get to the bullies. Their names are Cardan, Valerian, Nicasia, and Locke. Cardan is the male lead though he can technically be considered a second lead. He is the meanest of the quartet and the youngest prince of the land, with 5 older siblings. Valerian has a taste for blood and is very aggressive. Nicasia is the only girl of the four and seems to just do as she's told while flirting with the boys. Lastly is Locke, who currently confuses me. He is not as mean as the others, doesn't fully participate in their bullying but doesn't stop them either. But what confuses me is his interest in Jude. I don't understand where it came from but I guess I'll learn later on.

Okay that was very long winded but I wanted to explain the main characters. I technically did skip some but I can't explain them without spoiling so they'll come later. Mind this is not a full description just a summary of the characters in a sentence or two. I will go over backstory of the main character and her family in my next post, but for now this is all.
