Got my second Moderna shot today, feeling fine so far but apparently if you have the yuck it hits a few hours later or the next day.
Been kind of quiet here because A Little Man managed to get bordatella despite being vaccinated and has gone from fighting me about taking his antibiotics, to eating charlie's antibiotic and worrying me sick because I had to call three vets before someone gave me the straight answer of "the worst that will happen is that he'll have the runs". He's responding well to meds and is back to committing tiny puppy crimes like eating my gardening gloves.
My Precious Son met @gallusrostromegalus 's Precious Sons a couple days ago, as we moved cross country, and my poor sweet idiot child was just So Confused And Concerned about all this rough and tumble playing and borking. They seemed to have fun, though!
We got about 10-11 inches of snow last night. One of the dogs is slightly more equipped to handle this than the other.
By which I mean Herschel thinks it a hilarious game to climb in the snow shovel at the last second so despite my best efforts to not do this, I yeet him into the snowbank and he wiggles his way out like a tiny adorable and sandworm with no survival instincts.
To install, download the ZIP file from the link below. Extract the folder and copy its contents (there should be 7 files total) into your My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Tray folder. When you load the game, you should be able to find the lot in your Gallery Library.
DOWNLOAD ZIP file (SimFileShare)
**If you don’t want to install it using the Tray files, you can also find it in the Gallery under #jenba and Origin ID silrosse.
As always, feel free to edit and redecorate this lot however you wish!
So in summer I like to go have breakfast on the back porch and survey the garden while to dogs do dog activities like "roll in grass" and "bark at the one squirrel that refuses to leave the yard for two hours" but lately Herschel has been doing this thing where he sits under my chair where he can see the rest of the yard.
Before my parents had Arwen, we had the world's sweetest and gentlest German shepherd, Cody. He was made of marshmallow fluff and was the dog mom first started doing dog therapy in schools with. He also had this thing where if she was working in the yard, or we were out at a picnic or whatever, he would circle the yard or grounds a few times, then sit down with his back to us and watch everything else. Classic herding dog guard behavior, and it was very sweet. When he got older, my anxiety was at it's worst and even with arthritis he'd make the effort to climb onto my bed at night and Guard (tm) me, and it really did help.
Herschel is only 7months old now and is a little crime lord, but lately he's been doing his yard patrol and coming to sit under me, as well as trying to climb in bed with me in the afternoon when I nap. And realizing he's doing a Guard (tm) is making me miss Cody.
Charlie is also a very good dog, but he's more of an off-site guard. In the yard is his safe place, so he relaxes by parking himself in the sun and photosynthesizing, I guess.
The Garden At The End Of The Universe Update episode three: Revenge of the Bins
For those of you following since last year, today I planted the bins that made up 90% of The Garden Of Earthly HOA Violations, which now only make up about 40% of the new garden's real estate.
Which means I have space to go absolutely buckwild on the potatoes. We got Yukon golds, russet, purple magic, red jacket, german butterball and some fingerling ones that sprouted in the back of the pantry.
In the non-potato sections we have two kinds of broccoli whose names I forgot, chamomile and red leaf, butter crunch and some other kind of lettuce they would only label as "bistro" that looked a little sad when I took these pics but perked right up after watering. In the lower bins we have sage, tarragon and sweet potatoes because even the non-potato section still has potatoes.
Finally, the Big Bed is painted and assembled so if you thought I have poor impulse control when it comes to potatoes, which I actually eat, wait until you see what happened with the tomatoes.
Also, a friend came to visit yesterday (everyone is vaccinated and her internet is out) and her service dog Sweet Pea did a great job modelling good play behavior for Herschel, who turned into the world's most wiggly unstoppable terminator with glee.
Charlie took the opportunity to sleep in the sun on the deck, undisturbed.
Sharing some work-in-progress pics because it’s taking me FOREVER to finish this house! I’m so slow; it’s like I forgot how to build and decorate. And this is a relatively simple house! Haha. Anyway, it’s all built and decorated - I just need to do the landscaping and a little more playtesting. Since I want to go full steam ahead with this megasave, I’ll likely just post houses on the Gallery as I finish them and not do a fancy upload post here on Tumblr. However I am always happy to upload Tray files for those who want them.
BTW, this type of house is called a “Charleston single house” and is a common style found in Charleston, South Carolina. I plan on building a similar one next door, since they’re often found grouped closely together. On the smaller lot to the left, I’ll build a “Charleston cottage” which will likely be a starter. Despite my slowness, I’m having fun, and I’m very determined to keep going on this project!
Thank you so much to everyone who has left words of support and encouragement! I hope you’ll find at least some of my builds useful!
