初春の笑顔がいっぱいの宝船

にっぽん丸

3ヶ月ぶりの船旅のはずでしたが、

船の推進制御装置に不具合が認められたため、急遽、安全点検が必要になり運航を見あわせる事となりました。

残念ですが、安全第一！

またいつか共に船旅をできる日まで

予定していたセットリストと流れで、

空想の旅になれば🚢

Today I was meant to board this cruise, but due to technical issues the show and cruise itself were cancelled. Sad but safety first!

The theme was “aboard the treasure boat + smiles”.

Have posted the setlist and tried to portray what it would’ve been like on the musical boat :)

「宝」、「笑顔」をテーマに✨出発🚢

衣装はキラキラな宝箱のようなサラスタイルを予定していました

マリリンのピアノアドリブにのって、スキャットしながら時々「春よ来い」のリフを。本編最後に繋がる。

そこからRiverdanceの神秘的な歌のイントロへ。

今回伊勢神宮の近くに行くということで、神様に近い音楽からスタートしたく。マリリンの綺麗なハーモーニでデュエット。こちらはアルバムにも収録していますが、よく聴きなれてる綺麗な3度のハーモーニだけではなく、4度が特徴的な響きなのでこれも神秘的に聞こえる理由の１つ^_^

そして、この曲はヴァイオリンのフィドル的な表現で軽快な世界へ。キラキラ、ニコニコ。宝石のような煌めきを放つアクティブな一曲。

サポーターさんなら、この曲の変拍子できっと手拍子をして下さったはず。色々なアーティスト、バンドのライブで手拍子する曲があるように、私もライブでそんなノリノリの曲があればなと思いましたが、こんな変拍子な曲を選ぶ何てドSとしか思えないですよね。それでも、これで手拍子できる皆さん、最高にカッコ良いです！(とはいえ、今後はもっと楽に楽しめる手拍子曲を作りたいと思ってますー^_^;)

MCなう。サラッと面白い洒落でも言えたかな？🤔

海と宝ということで、ディズニー『リトル・マーメイド』より、アリエルが歌う「Part of Your World」。普段ライブで楽器も色々弾くので、この曲の「あれも！これも！」という場面ではそんな楽器の宝を指しています。

そして、この次のシネマ音楽にも「お宝」が。『The Greatest Showman』より、スターが歌う「Never Enough」。スポットライトを浴びても、星も金も手にしても、全て物足りない。あなたがいないと、物足りない。

私、今年初めて宝くじをやってみました(プレゼントで券？をスタッフさんから頂きました)。1億？あたったらどうするという話で盛り上がる。簡単に使えきる自信もあるけど、結局は本当に欲しいものはお金では中々買えない。因みに600円当たりました。

笑顔で始まる初春だから元気な曲多め。ジャズ出身のマリリンだからこそ、情熱的で踊りたくなる「Spain」へ。去年大阪でDream Caravanに出演させて頂いた時、久しぶりに寺井尚子さんともお会いでき、フルオケ+ジャズバンドをバックに彼女が演奏するSpainは最強でしたね！！とても勉強になり刺激になりました。もっともっとセッションをしてジャズを追求していきたいこの頃。来月２月呉・広島でのバレンタインはクリヤマコトさんを始めとしたジャズカルなので、ワクワク。

ここで一曲、オリジナルの弾き語り。

元々去年から予定していた楽曲でしたが、年始の心が痛むニュースとも重なる一曲でもあります。

「The Final Time Traveler」。ゲーム『タイムトラベラーズ』からのエンディングテーマは阪神淡路大震災に思いを寄せて作られた一曲です。こちらはゲームが大好きな羽生結弦さんとアイスショーでコラボさせて頂き、彼のサポーターさんをはじめ、ゲームをプレイされない人にも知られるようになった一曲でとても嬉しいです。オリジナルは日本語歌詞でしたが、海外で羽生さんが滑られるとのことで、英語歌詞を書かせて頂きました。

高音のサビの部分には本来歌詞を入れて欲しいと言われましたが、あえてAh〜だけにしたいとお願いしました。ヴォカリーズで、楽器のように、言葉では伝えきれない思いを届けられたら。

いつからかこの曲を弾き語りに挑戦するようになりましたが、ピアニスト、ミュージシャンに良く言われるのが、とても弾き語りするような曲ではないですねと。この曲、かなり複雑！伴奏ではなく、オーケストラの部分を演奏するような感覚。なので、毎回ドキドキ緊張する一曲です… ただ唯一、とても揺れる曲なので、それは自分で演奏すると歌と合わせやすい心地よさはあります。

この曲に「秘められたtreasure」という歌詞が出てきます。宝物、大切なものという意味ですが、英語の to treasure = 「大切にする」という動詞になります。

最後も笑顔で締めくくりたい。

第九は日本ではカウントダウンの一曲かもしれませんが、年始でも、どや^ - ^ これは去年のクリスマス・教会・合唱バージョンですが、ピアノとのデュオの時も、RnBからゴスペル、讃美歌からオペラチックな歌い分けが楽しい、人格がなん度も変わるJoyfulな選曲です。

本編ラストは、初披露のマッシュアップ。

元旦のファミリー向けコンサートで初披露した「NeverEnding Story」 🐲でしたが、『初春』に因んで、こちらを「春よ来い」とマッシュアップ。編曲、ちょっと頑張ったのでこれはお見せできず残念>< 😖今回はキーボードでオリジナルの80年代ディスコサウンドを表現する予定でしたが、マリリンとも話して、少し変えてみて八ヶ岳でチェンバロでやってみても良いかもと思えました。

そして、アンコールへ。

「Smile」。定番ですね。ただの笑顔の歌ではなく、とても切ないCharlie Chaplinのタイムレスな作品。歌詞と真逆になりますが、悲しい時は無理して笑わなくていい、と言うのが個人的なスタンスではありますが。そんな裏の思いをこの歌詞に乗せて歌う予定でした。

今回のライブはいつも以上にお時間が遅い開始のものであり、美味しい食事とお酒で、船に揺らされてそろそろお眠の時間になって来たかと思います。

そんな簡単には寝かせませんよ。うふ。

オペラ『ツーランドット』より「Nessun Dorma〜誰も寝てならぬ」。我々ミュージシャンにとっても眠気覚ましになる壮大な一曲です。この後優雅に食事というところでしたが、これから代わりにサラメシを作りに材料を調達しにスーパーに行って参ります。この時間になると嬉しいシールが貼られる頃でしょうw ちりも積もれば山やまとなる。この場合この表現はあってるのだろうか…

Every Record I Own - Day 807: The Rolling Stones Hackney Diamonds

This marks the end of my Stones posts. And given their age, this album may come to mark the end of The Stones as a recording entity. And as far as I'm concerned, we're going out on a high note.

Even the diehards will admit that The Rolling Stones peaked decades ago. And the diehards will also probably agree that by the time the '80s were in full swing, The Stones were a legacy act with little new to offer. No one is gonna canonize Undercover or Dirty Work. There were still hints of their magic sprinkled throughout their work through the '90s and into the first half of the '00s, but really, people held onto their love for The Stones based on their earlier classics and their continuing reputation for putting on a solid live show.

Maybe there was some sort of creative rut for the Stones. Some loss of purpose. Some struggle to hold onto their original sound while moving forward. I've been playing music long enough to know the tricky balance of pleasing the old fans while keeping things fresh and exciting. The Stones had become a nostalgia brand, and that brand generated a lot of money. Were they putting out new albums to keep the merchandising and ticket-selling machine in the public eye? Or was there some genuine creative joy embedded in those later records that just wasn't translating? Everyone knows Mick and Keith's friendship deteriorated over the years. Was that rift behind the waning quality of their albums?

And then there's the big question: did the world need a new Stones album in 2023? It'd been eighteen years since their last batch of new material. While there were defenders of A Bigger Bang (2005), it didn't convince anyone that the band was back in top form.

I was skeptical. But on a long solo drive across Eastern Oregon last fall, I decided to give Hackney Diamonds a listen. I'd already listened to Exile on the drive, followed it up with Tattoo You, and figured this might actually be my last chance to listen to a brand new Rolling Stones album while they were still active. I put on Hackney Diamonds as I drove across the high desert and, to my surprise, it sounded fucking great.

No Stones album has ever hit me on first listen until Hackney Diamonds. The band doesn't try to do anything new. The production is big and shiny, but it still sounds like a real band. Jagger doesn't address our tumultuous world like he might have back in the '60s, and maybe the album's odes to turbulent relationships are a little simplistic. But maybe there's actually more there than we hear on that first listen. Are "Angry" and "Bite My Head Off" just your typical songs about having a spat with a lover? Or is it about battling the public's expectations? Is "Depending On You" another forlorn love song? Or is it actually a plea to Richards?

Curiosity also drove me to read the Pitchfork review for Hackney Diamonds, who unsurprisingly shat on the band for "acting their image rather than their age." The remaining paragraphs go on to rail against a wealthy band wringing more money out of middle aged men. I'd counter that people as rich as Jagger and Richards don't really need to take the time to write another album and take another year off from their private lives to go on tour just to be a little bit richer in their eighties. And pandering to middle aged men seems no less noble than pandering to the twenty-something youth market that Pitchfork depends on for advertising revenue (and hate to break it to ya, Pitchfork, but your initial fanbase is middle aged now).

Is it shameful to grow old? Is it shameful for Mick and Keith to keep doing the thing they've done for 60 years? Is it shameful to love what you do and to try to hold onto it for as long as possible? Sure, maybe at some point the magic ebbed away, but the band always had their highs and lows. And if Mick and Keith drifted apart, perhaps the passing of Charlie Watts reminded them that their days were numbered, and they could either pack it in and become mired in the rusty stasis of old age, or they could go out in a blaze of glory.

I refuse to think art and music are creative pursuits that only belong to the young. Sure, I wanna hear music made by excited young people, but I also wanna hear music made by people my age. And I also want to hear music made by people with decades of experience who know exactly what they want, exactly how to do it, and how to have a fucking blast in process.

And that's exactly what Hackney Diamonds sounds like. If the story ends here, then it provides a satisfying narrative arc to the history of The Stones. Excellent work, Glimmer Twins.

I'm obsessed w your writing about butch bea -- it's been super life-giving and I feel so seen when I read it :) lol it's gotten to the point where I am BEGGING my gf to watch warrior nun for the sake of being able to read the butch bea universe... anyways. it's incredible. show-stopping. legendary.

I did have a question, though -- what kind of music do you think bea listens to? to me (read: I'm projecting lol) she'd love "take the sadness out of saturday night" by bleachers, "in defense of my own happiness" by joy oladokun, and boygenius (both the first ep & all three of their solo work). and of course ava loves to sing "solid" by muna to bea.

mm for me ava is a pop girly!! which is my favorite!! i literally mean this w like i think pop is the most supreme genre of all time ever, so like… carly rae! charli xcx! caroline polacheck! she is here to feel! she is here to have fun! she is here to be sexy! she is here to be sad! she is here to be in love! the intelligence & excess of pop & its like silly yet obsessive nature,,, how could ava not fall in love. how could anyone not fall in love. pop forever. + the entirety of the insecure soundtrack (which bea probably has half of on vinyl) — best show of all time re:music. (somewhere in there there’s them watching insecure as an ode to LA but i digress lol). i do think ava also probably loves anything justin vernon does (hymn alternatives, the poet of our generation — a word about gnosis, it ain’t gonna buy the groceries), & also she loves contemporary classical.

I'm so sad. I wanted to see ode to joy finally, but the stream just stopped and I couldn't make it work again! Theres about half an hour left for me and I really had looked forward to see it. I loved every bit of it so far and now the site either doesn't even start playing or it says the video can't be played due to an error. I'm just... so disappointed and heartbroken! I've been looking forward to see it and I didn't have any time until now and now I can't because the thing isn't playing! It's not fair! It's not even that I don't want to pay to see it, cause I totes would!

It's so unfair cause theres no other option for me than streaming online and now that isn't working too! I'm so upset!

This is a scene from the movie Ode to Joy (link to IMDB).

Charlie has a neurological disorder in which strong emotions, especially joy, make him faint. He lives with his brother. Working as librarian gives him a quiet environment, but then Francesca enters the library and his life.

It's a cute, little rom-com, probably not Martin's best work, but I like the movie. Martin's character Charlie is quite lovely (and Morena Baccarin has been my lady crush since forever... ).

Lets Talk About Gunnar Maelstrom

Evil Daddies is where it’s at.

One of the meanings of the word "Maelstrom" is 'A situation of state of confused movement or violent turmoil.

Let me start with Maelstrom, usung the Carmen Sandiego Wiki to break him down as a whole, starting with appearance and personality (Excluding the comments around his action in the show, this will be hard seeing his major inclusion to the story so please bear with me once more as I do this).

Professor Maelstrom is a middle-aged man with pale skin and white hair with a receding hairline. He has broad shoulders and wears a black blazer over a dark gray turtleneck. As stated previously, Maelstrom is seen as being an almost unnaturally pale color, hinting towards possible Albinism.

Now, Middle aged according to the wiki page is between 50 and 60. Seeing the receding hairline and the lines on his face (Also can someone point me to a source about those random chin hairs? Like please I need context).

He obviously has stress and sleep lines. I imagine these are due to his life choices and idiot operatives. His ethnicity is stated as being Swedish but continues to contradict itself when it later states that Maelstrom is from Scandinavia. I think this is to throw the readers and deep show watchers off and it would work better if both ethnicity and race were left as unknown.

Now we move on to the easier things, personality, which is LONG. So let me start writing!

Of the five members of V.I.L.E's faculty, Maelstrom seems to command the most authority and serve as the de facto leader of the group, being the first to speak as well as hand out orders. As one may expect, Professor Maelstrom is criminally insane, which is ironic, considering his forte is psychiatry. Professor Maelstrom often likes to tinker with his patients' psyches and enjoys psychologically evaluating students, much like someone finding joy in pulling the wings off a butterfly. He does possess some level of awareness to his own insanity, though he is quick to brush it off as a mere label that other weak-minded people have given him. He also has an apparent fondness for the more psychotic recruits. In keeping with his name, his main desire is to spread chaos and disorder, with any actual gain being a secondary concern at best. Carmen considered him to be creepy, and rightfully so after he and Dr. Bellum collaborated to wipe Crackle's brain. Professor Maelstrom loathes Cookie Booker as he has no tolerance for her stuck up behavior towards him. He seems to have a fondness for marine life, as his office hosts a giant aquarium filled with jellyfish and other specimens. His use of the term "bait" as a pun is in reference to fishing bait, and in the novel adaptation, it is used twice. Further expanding the psychological exam scene from the show, in the novel, he declares that Carmen gave the "wrong" answer to the Rorschach test, stating that the image was a seahorse. The novelization expanded his sense of humor, though it mentions that even that had a dark and unpredictable tinge to it, showing delight in the lengths that his students would go in order to not be called upon in class. The show does have him throw a small quip every once in a while, often tinged with exasperation at his colleagues' antics or ignorance. He also enjoys making Countess Cleo envious of his fashion style, having asked Le Chevre and El Topo in the "The Fishy Doubloon Caper" to acquire an Ecuadorian Eight Escudos doubloon to be melted into solid gold cufflinks.

As done in my previous post, I will be diving deeper into the statement in the bolded font.

Maelstrom seems to command the most authority and serve as the de facto leader of the group,

I don’t see any major reason for this face besides that there is a level of respect among the Faculty that centers around Maelstrom, seeing as he is one of the psychologically smarter than any of the other members, except Shadowsan but that is a post for another day. He is a very scary character because he is unpredictable, and possibly in the minds of the other, can be blamed for their crimes should they ever had been caught, but this leads me to my second quip with Gunnar Maelstrom.

Professor Maelstrom is criminally insane, which is ironic, considering his forte is psychiatry

When one looks up the term ‘Criminally insane’ we get the following “an accused person that is deemed to be suffering from cognitive illness or fault which frees then of lawful accountability for the unlawful behaviors” from https://psychologydictionary.org/criminally-insane/.

I cannot at all say that I support this terminology on the stance that Maelstrom is more than aware of his action, to the point where he logically makes the choices to leave his fellow faculty behind at the prospect of capture. One cannot say that a “Criminally insane’ person is able to make these choices so quickly and with such calculation as to pack a go bag and hire an escape driver. But I digress.

He does possess some level of awareness to his own insanity, though he is quick to brush it off as a mere label that other weak-minded people have given him.

I don’t think that Maelstrom can stand to be labeled by other people. The exact use of the phrase “Weak-minded’ points me to believe that Maelstrom sees himself as mentally stronger, powerful, and far beyond that of the average person. This points to his class, and I’ll explain this in the next part, being the most critical and important to V.I.L.E as a whole.

His main desire is to spread chaos and disorder

This is WAY too specific to just be a drop in detail. No character is created be be a chaotic mixture, but they are built to SPREAD chaos, and Maelstrom is the perfect character to do this. His favor to Paperstar is a direct jab at this detail about him, she is an element of chaos that he put into play, the disorder of her is why he places her, while the other faculty hate Paperstar, he finds her the perfect wild card.

Professor Maelstrom loathes Cookie Booker

I fully think this is, as the wiki and al of my sources say, Cookie Booker represents the original 1998 Carmen Sandeigo. And the loathing between them is a reference to the original game and books.

He seems to have a fondness for marine life, as his office hosts a giant aquarium filled with jellyfish and other specimens.

Not gonna lie, but I love this detail. The details, that caused me to GO BACK and watch the episodes with Maelstrom, was that the man likes fish. This adds onto the effect that he is rather cold and uncaring towards people, seeing them a thing to observe and keep. I also just love the idea of him having a fish tank and spoiling his goldfish that he named Clyde or something equally related to big time crime, like Al Capone or as said before Clyde.

He also enjoys making Countess Cleo envious of his fashion style

I’m sorry but Cleo and Gunnar challenging each other to see who is better in fashion? I’m sorry but they are the fashion police. Also I think this places WHO he is close to in the Faculty. I am very willing to bet that Maelstrom, who left Coach Brunt to drown and die, would NEVER leave Cleo or Bellum (Possibly) to die because they align more with HIS goals.

Brunt is... Dare I say... THE DUMBEST OF THE V.I.L.E FACULTY

WHAT DOES SHE DO?!?!

WHY IS SHE HERE?!

SHE’S STRONG AND THAT’S IT!

I digress (i used that phrase twice now), I just think his goals line up more with Cleo and (Again, possibly) Bellums’.

Now I go onto my favorite part of these paragraphs, the trivia/abilities. I love trivia/abilities, just because everyone sees this word and they are like ‘oh it’s just dumb facts’. BUT NO! It’s DENSTRAMENTAL to the character and links to their personalities.

He is capable of expertly performing a bait and switch. Professor Maelstrom specializes in psychiatry. He has been shown to have a favorite student, similar to the other faculty, in Paper Star; despite her disregard of the protocol in Mumbai. His grudge against Cookie Booker could be a subtle reference to the hostile relationship that his previous incarnation had with Carmen Sandiego in the 90's cartoon. As shown in the season three episode, The Haunted Bayou Caper, he has a fondness for Halloween.

Most od this is already covered, i know, so I won’t go over what I already did. SO let me just say... I know-

I NEED to SEE Maelstrom just- *Pulls and Bait and switch* -STEAL FROM SOMEONE. Like. I could totally believe that Maelstrom is the sleekest, most sneaky, most Swiper is swiping guy in the world. I am okay with letting them tell me this, but NO okay with them not SHOWING ME.

Netflix, I HOPE you see this so you can give me a SHOW on HOW GUNNAR MET MY MOTHER, COUNTESS CLEO.

He has a fondness for Halloween.

Okay, big ending time. So Gunnar Maelstrom, a deeply interesting character, mysterious backstory that a person can read into, different fun facts that lead to speculation and interest and amazing stories. I love Gunnar Maelstrom’s character, his personality, and his appearance. His effect? 100. His story? 100. His ability to make me rewatch the series? 100.

TEMPUS FUGIT

Zabilježi ideju na vrijeme. Ne mogu to dovoljno naglasiti. Ili dopusti da prenoći. Da je sažvačeš, i provariš. Jutro će je možda zamijeniti novom i aktuelnijom - relevantnijom za ono što si danas, u odnosu na ono što si bio jučer. Možemo samo nagađati šta nas očekuje sutra. Brojni su, mislioci i stručnjaci, na brojne načine, o tome već razglabali. Neki od njih, danas, za to primaju i pristojnu platu. Ipak, sutra nije obećano. Niti meni, niti tebi. Imamo samo sebe. Samo danas.

Možda je i 'popularna' zabluda da veliki umjetnici svoja bezvremenska djela skladaju u jednom pokušaju ili, da pokušam biti poetičan, u jednom dahu. Nadovezujući se, bez izvođenja statističkih zaključaka, međutim, postoji mogućnost da je također 'popularno' pogrešno shvatanje i o količini sadržaja kojeg jedan autor stvori za vrijeme svog života. Mislim da se to naročito odnosi na slikare o kojima ste bili primorani učiti u osnovnoj i srednjoj školi. Moram napomenuti, ipak, da ovo nipošto nije suptilni udarac ili prozivka izrazito divnog bića koje sam imao prilike upoznati krajem prethodne godine. Spojila nas je strast prema umjetnosti (kao i hodnik studentskog doma), ali u konačnici razdvojilo moje ne-kršćanstvo. O kako tužnih ljubavi ima. . .

Možda sam to trebao i očekivati, ali ko bi to uopšte želio pretpostaviti? O tome razmišljati? Neznanje je ponekad zaista blaženstvo. Nadalje, ko bilo koga može okriviti za predikciju koja će se ispostaviti neispravnom. . . U konačnici, nije važno ko je kriv. . . Sve je dopušteno u ljubavi, umjetnosti i ratu. Nekada djeluje kao da je to, zapravo, ista, jedna jedina stvar.

Zamislite scenario: glava domaćinstva u hodniku kuće odluči zamijeniti linoleum sa pločicama. Promjena je pomno isplanirana, te se akciji kupovine materijala i angažovanja izvođača radova ozbiljno pristupilo tek nakon izvjesnog vremena sakupljanja, odnosno, štednje novca, kao i nakon reevaluacije alternative. Čak i prije angažovanja gorespomenutih resursa, trebalo je opet proći određeno vrijeme - od perioda kada je postavljen linoleum - do perioda kada se domaćin već zasitio istog i započeo razmišljati o promjeni.

Sada, zamislite da gledate video izvođenja radova; najprije postavljanje linoleuma, zatim njegovo uklanjanje, potom 'pripremanje terena' za novu površinu, i najzad, postavljanje pločica; ali oba videa jedan za drugim, u "time-lapse" fotografskoj tehnici - odnosno, ubrzanoj sekvenci gdje je veća jedinica vremena svedena na kraći i brži video uradak. Pomislili biste, impresivno, ali pomalo besmisleno, zar ne?

Logičan zaključak je da, smisao u ove dvije navedene situacije, čini šta? Vrijeme. . .

Opet sadašnjost. . .

Gledajući u telefonski imenik, tačnije, u kontakt drage osobe; počinjem zamišljati isti video sa pločicama i linoleumom.

Ne donosim ishitrenu odluku. Pripremio sam teren, da ni za čim nemam žaliti. Srećom, vjerujem da smo oboje kadar, da i nećemo žaliti. Imali smo dobru stvar, ali je sada moram napustiti. Imali smo jako dobru stvar.

U mislima sam je napustio već nekoliko mjeseci unazad. Vjerujem da je i ona mene. Složili smo se da je to zrela stvar za napraviti uzevši u obzir okolnosti. Drugačije bi bila zarobljena u mojim mislima, a to nije dobra osnova za nastaviti živjeti i započeti neki novi odnos. Ne želim živjeti u prošlosti. Ne želim takvu sudbinu ni za nju.

Nešto ranije, sugerisala je neopterećenost i sreću. Dragi bog zna da to nije bilo tako na rastanku. Ni za jedno od nas.

Međutim, galeb je raširio svoja krila i uputio se do obližnjeg mola, izoštrio oči i sluh, dok je istovremeno jedna gusjenica postala leptir i do najljepšeg cvijeta ponosno odlepršala u svim svojim bojama i elegantnoj raskoši.

Mislim da smo spremni. Vjerujem. Dodirujem ekran i potvrđujem svoj izbor. Hiljade poruka, dogodovština, fotografija, videa, uspomena, dogovora, svađa i mirenja - nestade u jednom trenu. Ne u zaborav, već u trezor, sakriven u internu memoriju vlastitog uma, gdje je pohranjeno svako moje iskustvo do sada. Naročito ona lijepa. Sjećanja mi na lice stavljaju osmijeh.

Ovo će možda jednog dana biti smiješno, tiješim se. Ne danas, ali jednog dana. Čovjek mora vjerovati u nešto. ("Mi smo priče koje pričamo sebi" - Shekar Kapur)

Najzad, prisjećam se momenata svog života i nekolicine ljudi koji su kroz njega prošli. Nikada ne znaš koji je od tih susreta posljednji, i to je zastrašujuća pomisao.

Povremeno pogledam i listu osoba sa kojim sam vodio konverzaciju na društvenim mrežama. Neke poruke su ostale vječno neotvorene, a brojna pitanja neodgovorena. Možeš se odlučiti ponovno povezati i ljubazno upitati šta si mogao učiniti da toga ne dođe, ili ne.

Ukoliko zaista budeš insistirao, možeš čak dobiti i odgovor koji će zvučati nešto poput: "Svi planovi i sastanci predviđeni za ovaj dan (...) se odgađaju do daljnjeg, čitaj, kad vitamin D bude padao sa neba. Odmaraj." Možda malo na stranu nadrealnog i zabrinjavajuće drskog, ali svakako iznimno kreativno.

'Vraćam film' na "A Bronx Tale", jedan od mojih vječitih favorita, prisjećajući se dugovanja od 20 dolara i legendarnog spisateljstva Chazza i Bobby de Nira. "Koštalo te je 20 dolara da ga se riješiš... On je van tvog života za 20 dolara. Čak si prošao jeftino. Zaboravi ga."

I biram zaboravljati. Biram bitke. Biram ih ne voditi uopšte. Zašto? Da li ja to priznajem poraz? Da, priznajem, ukoliko ćeš se osjećati bolje mudrice. Kao što se može osjećati (...) kada utrči u cilj ispred djevojke. Tokom humanitarne 'utrke'. Biram biti bolji od toga.

Da mogu, birao bih da usporim snimak, i da donesem drugačije odluke. Možda bi onda ona ubrzana montaža izgledala drugačije, bila bi duža. . . Ali pametniji sam od toga. Znam da bih stvorio kontra-efekat. Možda stvarno nema sretnih završetaka.

Možda bi se kao protagonist u "Project Almanac" našao u novim i boljim okolnostima, ali na koje opet ne bih znao adekvatno reagovati. Da li bi svako malo koristio svoj uređaj za upravljanje vremenom? Da, kvarim ti posljednju scenu u kojoj gledamo nasmijano lice tipa koji je konačno 'prevario sudbinu' i posložio stvari u svoju korist, ostvario je ono što je čitavo vrijeme htio i - REZ! Razmišljam; nadaj se da ti tvoj uređaj neće ispasti iz ruku tokom odjavne špice. . .

Potvrdu sasvim opravdanom skepticizmu donose i stravični prizori iz "The Butterfly Effect" koji kazuje da ni u jednoj verziji realnosti ne može postojati jedna idealna sudbina za sve. Da bi neko pobjedio, neko mora izgubiti. Da bismo cijenili svjetlo, mora postojati tama. Suprotne strane kovanice. Polarnost. Sve ono što ti ne znači apsolutno ništa kada patiš. Šta te briga što je to već neko tamo iskusio i što tvoj slučaj nije jedinstven i nije ni po čemu poseban. Tvoje brige su (jako često) samo tvoje i tebi su najveće na svijetu. Ne trebaju se relativizirati.

Već si jako dugo slušao o mojima. Hvala ti. Uradio bih isto i ja za tebe, samo kad bih znao.

PS: Iz iznenađujuće bremenitog i osjećajnog dijaloga kojeg sam zatekao u post-Charlie Sheen svijetu serije "Two and a Half Men", ne mogu ne primjetiti korelaciju večerašnjeg monologa sa razgovorom Alana, Charlievog brata, i njegovog sina, Jakea.

Naime, mladi Jake raskida svoju vezu sa više od deset godina starijom ženom koja već ima djecu iz prvog braka, kao i tetovaže po cijelom tijelu (glumi ju sjajna Jaime Pressley, također poznata po ulozi Joy u još jednom omiljenom klasiku "My Name is Earl") a uz to pokazuje više 'muškosti' nego Alan i Jake na trenutke.

Kreator Chuck Lorre i ostali pisci nude zanimljivu perspektivu, parafraziram:

Alan: Da li ponovo uradio isto, znajući kako će se stvari završiti?

Jake (nakon kraće pauze): Da, samo bi to uradio više puta!

PPS: Izrazito vulgarno, znam! Možda je vrijeme da se povučem. Ukoliko i ne postoji sutra, za mene i nas, ovo je izgleda mojih jedanaest. Startna postava. Odabrani za bitku, sa samim sobom. Iscrpljujuće je. Pri tome niko ne pazi na vrijeme, niti na rezultat. Reći ćemo da je ostalo neriješeno. . .
