Here's the second weekly sketchbook post, but now focused on the weird and very vivid dream I had about a sketchbook that doesn't exist! I thought it would be neat to try to sketch as close to the ideas as I could in real life.

Snake was actually a lot less detailed in the dream - he had more fluid brushstrokes with less details and a more ethereal look? I tried to emulate that a little on the side (but still doesn't look quite right).

The cheetahman in my dream was more like a comical realistic cheetah head pasted on top of some tiny karate suited body. For some reason I decided to do better than that. I looked up that game again and remembered they were distinct characters? I figured Apollo was the closest to what I saw, since in the dream he had no distinctive features like the other two. I drew him referencing a pose from "The Pose Archives" on DA.

Who would have thought I'd be drawing Cheetahmen in 2023...

Then there was some fuzzy guy (cartoon caveman? IDK??) riding a bird and exaggeratedly screaming over the bird's head. There were a lot more illustrative lines & dot details in the dream that I didn't feel like putting down.

There were mushrooms and moths that were both growing around my house and sketched in this book. The mushrooms were very tiny, all black, and had narrow shaped caps. The moths that perched on the shrooms were even tinnier, changed color when they "breathed" (even though moths don't work like that) but on inhale were all black with a blue stripe.

When I was younger, I came across this stamp on Deviantart that was based on some popular web animation at the time. The most notable thing about it was that it featured the Cheetahmen from the notorious Action 52.

Sometime in 2020, I managed to find the source of the animation on Nico Nico Douga.

This is probably one of the best looks I've seen anyone give the Cheetahmen. The song is kind of nice, too.

I just think it's weird no one has attempted to just, take the Cheetah men and make something with them.

I mean, they got enough nothing, that you can add your own twist to it, paint them up nice, and still have it connect to the original game.
