Against the World by Escaped Audios is so tonally batshit but I have literally NEVER seen a superhero series of any kind replicate the exact feeling of playing one of my favorite superhero themed tabletop roleplaying games so perfectly so for that (and many other reasons) I adore it.
Like… fr, barring the amount of the straight up murder… Against the World is basically just like listening to a game of Masks. (The only reason there ISN’T murder in Masks is because you’re playing teenage Heros/antiheroes). The tonal shifts make sense to me because every Masks game I have ever been in has been like this.

Wait, no, secret 3rd option to "Noir Spiderman Venom Arc", comedy edition: He doesn't notice anything different because his webs are normally black and he's already used to having to fight off The Demons (random bouts of anger + violent intrusive thoughts + auditory/tactile hallucinations + nightmares). The symbiote gives up and drags its heels all the way home to Eddie Brock.

i still feel abnormal about kaeyas adventure to sumeru as a child btw. he tells us about it in this lighthearted "haha look how silly i was as a kid ^^" way (because god forbid he allows one ounce of vulnerability in any situation ever) but tbh its just tremendously sad. to me

How the fuck am I supposed to go to school tomorrow if the only three things I'm thinking about now are:
1. Crazy Finnish guy and his upcoming porn music video
2. Slovenian one direction
3. Swords fighting

The Sign eps 11 & 12 and I'm done! Sadly I'm unsatisfied - these last eps let it down; it just felt too easily wrapped up. I don't believe Chalothorn would just let Tharn go after he explained how much he loved Phaya. Nope. Not gonna happen. All offscreen as well - very convenient. Although I feel marginally warmer about the eps after seeing Tharn's lovely back, tiny waist and naked ass (albeit pixillated). Sadly I couldn't find a gif so you'll have to make do with this:
Other things:
As soon as that ring came out I knew either Thongthai or Khem would get shot. Giant red flag. And then it led to nothing... Chart got beaten up and shot and his fate was also just a tossed away line. All that happened and we just got 'Khem and Chart are OK'.
I didn't understand why Dao was in it at all, she literally had nothing to do.
Who was the Abbot and why couldn't he help? Who was the boss of Montree (and who was the betrayer in the police)? And why was he smuggling artwork as well as drugs?
Why didn't Tharn's grandmother warn him after her vision then meeting Chalothorn? It's not as if he wouldn't have believed her...
I've seen better facial hair makeup on (every) drag king I've seen - I mean I know it was supposed to convey that Phaya was too devastated to even shave but it just made me cringe.
Anyway, we got a Saint cameo and special ep but i suspect none of the above questions will be answered. Maybe they're hoping for an S2?
I'm now off to watch Perfect Propose. I'm hoping not to feel short-changed by this one.

Reblog with a song you listen to when you need to boost your morale! The one song that you always listen to when you need instant serotonin, no matter how "silly" it is.
I'll start.
Mine is "Seishun bus guide" by Berryz Kōbō. Yeah, the Inazuma Eleven ending.
Go!
