Iconic Outfits

2020 AAAs NCT Daesang Award

Peoples’ jaws dropped when they saw Aria sidle up alongside the other 23 boys, strolling out like she owned the building. The heels gave her enough height to be nearly level with Renjun - something she wouldn’t let the boy forget - her hair dyed back to a natural black like it had been during NCT2020 promotions. It was rare that Aria didn’t look slightly apprehensive about stepping out onto a red carpet, but the confidence was rolling off her in waves. As she walked, the slit in the dress seemed to keep on going, trailing up her leg and changing the otherwise classy dress into something that left the innocent bystanders in the first row suffering from a high chance of a heart attack.

tldr; Aria’s hot and people are Noticing.

2019 Show Champion NCT 127 ‘Superhuman’

NCT’s second win with Superhuman left a huge divide in nctzens; a rift between those who were ot21 stans and ot22 stans (sans and plus Aria). Up until then, there had been rumors around whether Aria was to leave NCT now that there was a new girl group supposedly debuting under SM. Their management team had refrained from publishing a response - but that only lead fans to create their own speculations and theories. This outfit played perfectly into the growing rumor; with the large circular pendant on Aria’s bracelet having two chrysanthemums etched into the gold. The flower symbolized happy endings and goodbyes, with nctzens taking this as the proof that Aria was truly set to leave NCT in the coming months.

tldr; nctzens need to learn how to Chill.

2017 M! Countdown NCT 127 ‘Cherry Bomb’

Unfortunately, this era was the cause of a lot of strife for Arizens; the stylists either hit it out of the park and Aria was drop dead stunning - or she ended up looking a little like a bratz doll a toddler had gotten their hands on. Unfortunately for Aria, their first win with ‘Cherry Bomb’ left pictures of her in a plastic, obviously dyed blue skirt and cherry pink hair to match immortalized on the internet forever.

tldr; arizens hoped that her stylist got fired after this era. the plastic skirt wasn't the worst thing they'd done.

Seating Arrangements

Depending on the venue, idols are normally sat on straight rows of chairs and benches, or at round tables. Given the choice, Aria would always prefer to sit at one of the tables, as not only does it give her a chance to not have to worry about her legs being seen while being covered by the tablecloth - if there is one - but it lets her keep everyone sitting near her in her direct line of vision.

However, should she have to sit in one of the main rows, she’ll normally end up squished beside one of three boys - Donghyuck, Yuta and/or Renjun. Should one of those three be unaviliable, Doyoung and Jeno are usually quick enough to fill in the empty space.

Donghyuck would always be her first choice, was it not for the boy’s incessant energy that sometimes left her nerves fried before their performance. Most days she adored the company - adored him and his efforts to get her mind off their impending songs with various games and ways to pass the time (they're not allowed play footsie anymore though, because Aria stomped on his foot with her heel once) - but other days she just needed someone to hold her hand and say nothing. That’s where Yuta and Renjun come in.

As Aria’s found out over the years, for all the man’s tactile affection and loud displays of love, Yuta’s highly perceptive to when she needs some silent comfort. Now, she’s not sure if he’s that perceptive to everyone or just her - but either way she’s not complaining.

With Dream, Renjun is the one she’ll sit with and doodle on the white napkins that are laid out on the table for lord knows what reason. After being bored out of their minds for their first few award shows, Renjun had snuck two black ballpoint pens into the venue in the inside of his red suit jacket. The drawings had become somewhat a tradition, and the best doodle normally is uploaded to bubble shortly after the show has ended.

All in all, Aria’s normally quite content to sit in the centre of the large group of boys - split over several rows or tables, boisterous and bubbly with energy. The only real downside to it all is the lack of blankets available to protect her modesty once she is seated.

Most venues split the idols fairly evenly between the boy and girl groups - with blankets being allocated especially for the seating of girl groups. This meant, unfortunately, that when NCT files into their seats and sits down, there is rarely something in the close vicinity that Aria can borrow quickly without causing a fuss.

Sometimes she gets lucky - other female idols might spot her and are normally kind enough to hand over one of their cushions or blankets, content to share with their neighboring member. Occasionally though, Aria has no such luck and is left to either pull down her dress multiple times per minute to cover the prickly feeling over the tops of her legs when she felt like eyes were boring into her, or wait for some kind of break so she could go find a spare covering.

Aria supposed after the third time something like that had happened, her members were getting fed up with it all.

At first it was their plan B: should some type of cover-up not be available in their immediate vicinity, Johnny or Lucas or Jaehyun - once, even Dejun - or another member who ran hot near-constantly would shrug off their jacket and fold it over Aria’s legs, pulling it up and then lifting her hands to place them in her lap to hold their jacket there.

Eventually it became their plan A however, now commonplace for Aria to go looking for the member who was wearing multiple layers and who wouldn’t suffer from the loss of their outermost one.

Red carpets were always something to dread, in Aria’s eyes.

The cameras flashing bright enough to blind you, and the knowledge that if she stumbled or - god forbid - fell it would be immortalized forever on Koreaboo’s newest blog post.

However the worst bit, was always the footwear. High, stiletto heels that left her teetering around on nothing more than her tippy-toes, precariously balanced as she made her way up and down stairs, over carpet and tiled flooring alike.

Aria was used to wearing heels, but the one’s she performed in were usually fitted with various types of ankle support and a thick heel to give her balance. Wobbling around on a heel the same width of a piece of uncooked spaghetti was not something she’d willingly choose.

Not to mention the blisters.

Designer shoes were gifted to the company on a regular basis - shipped over just in time for Aria to slip into the pair before stepping out of the van into the sea of bright flashes and reporters. It always seemed like designers were too pre-occupied with making a shoe look good rather than making them actually wearable.

The first time Aria had been gifted a set of heels - early 2018 - she made the mistake of assuming that they would be in similar comfort as her performance heels.

Two hours later and with a wad of bloody tissue stuffed into the back of them, Aria had learnt her lesson.

From then on, it was commonplace for Aria to bandage her heels before she went out to shows - not quite as heavily as she normally would for a performance, but just enough to stop the skin splitting under the constant abrasion.

She’d only been caught out badly once - but it was all caught on camera by a fan sitting close by, and spread over twitter like wildfire.

Aria had limped her way back over to where NCT 127 was sitting, lips pressed together in a tight line and hands clenched in the tight material of the leather trousers she had been given to wear. The trousers stopped a few inches above her ankles, so the red mess of her heels was clearly visible as she hobbled over and sat down with a thud onto the seat.

Donghyuck placed a hand on Aria’s shoulder, leaning in so that he could see her face behind the curtain of hair that she had let fall to hide her tear-filled eyes from him.

“Riri?” Donghyuck whispered to her, thumb beginning to rub soothing circles into her arm. “Hey, Riri? What’s going on?”

Aria only shook her head, gesturing to the pair of torturous heels on her feet.

Donghyuck inhaled sharply when he saw the blood trailing up her leg and soaking into the back of the heel. He turned to his side to elbow Doyoung, grabbing his attention.

“Hyung. Hyung.” He hissed, Doyoung turning around with an over-exaggerated sigh.

“No, Hyuck, I told you I’m not going to-” Doyoung cut himself off upon seeing Aria’s pain-filled face. “Aria? What’s wrong? What’s happened?”

Donghyuck slid off his seat onto the ground despite Aria’s protests that the floor wasn’t clean, get up, and explained what had happened to his hyung. Sliding her heel off as slowly as he could to not pull at the skin more, he muttered apologizes to Aria as she inhaled a shaky breath before exhaling it on a small, wet cry.

“Hyung, did you bring anything for Taeyong-hyung’s shoulder that we could use?”

“Yeah, yeah I did give me two seconds.” Doyoung bent into the small bag that he had tucked underneath the seat, pulling out a length of bandage that was stowed away in the outermost pocket.

Donghyuck took it from Doyoung’s hands with a small ‘thank you’, moving to kneel back down in front of Aria and taking her ankle back into his lap.

“Hyuck, no I got it, c’mon the ground isn’t clean-”

He silenced her with a look. Aria settled back into her chair - defeated - and Donghyuck wrapped the bandage around her heel as quickly but as painlessly as he could manage.

Maybe Aria should have been paying more attention to the camera that was slowly panning around the idols, projecting their faces up onto a large screen beside the stage, but she was too engrossed in the current group’s performance.

“그렇다고 네 맘이 작다는 게 아냐,” Swaying gently side to side and mouthing along to the lyrics, Aria was happy enough to smile along to the song and move her hands in a small mimickery of the choreography she’d taught herself off the group’s dance practice video she’d watched only a few dozen times.

It wasn’t until Mark poked her in the side that Aria broke out from her own little bubble, twisting her head to look back at him and then up at the screen when he pointed.

There, her face, staring back at her from the big screen was enough to make her mouth drop open a little bit and her eyes widen. She clapped a hand to her mouth before turning to hide her face in Jaehyun’s shoulder, shaking with embarassed laughter.

Aria could hear Taeyong’s teasing laugh in return, before a hand came and ruffled the hair on top of her head, that she swatted away.

Aria knew she was there.

She knew that she was sitting right there and that she was in one of those really skimpy dresses stylists loved to put girls in because apparently female idols don’t deserve modesty and Aria knew that she had a blanket for once and she should share it but oh my god.

It was Chungha.

Aria was going to pass out.

Taking side glances every few seconds only confirmed the fact that Chungha was pulling down her dress to cover as much of her legs as possible, tucking her ankles together and underneath the seat.

Ok.

Ok, she could do this.

Aria took a steeling breath, before shifting on her seat to face Chungha on more of a diagonal. She lifted her hand before lowering it slighly, looking away.

Should she- no ok she’s doing this.

Without giving herself time to talk herself out of it, Aria moved to rest her hand on Chungha’s arm. The older woman jerked slightly - startled - and Aria was quick to apologize.

There was no audio in the video uploaded - the original poster having been too far away to capture much - but the two women talked for a moment before Chungha pointed to the blanket and then herself.

Aria nodded emphatically, and Chungha’s face crumpled into something fond, bowing her head in thanks before they unfolded the blanket another time and Chungha scooted an inch closer to Aria so they’d both fit.

Chungha sent Aria another grateful smile before refocusing on the performances - apparently not noticing, or perhaps choosing not to comment on the rather obvious red tinge that the younger idol’s cheeks had taken on.

Fast forward three months and you slowly come accustomed to the place, learning about its government, and jeno begins to also warm up to you. Though you still don’t talk too much it gets better and you bond over the internal struggles that both of you have and slowly start to develop feelings for each other. but you still wanna have a say so your families agree that you won’t just be married but that you’d have power in both kingdoms kinda like an ambassador and im gonna stop here bc this is very long im soRRY.

He’s an introvert and is awkward around new people and b. Kinda has a small crush on you, well on your style of dancing :) so you two are paired up, lets say your majoring in contemporary/modern dance and he’s specializing in acro and hip-hop. overall it’s just a cute lil thing and because the project is a whole trimester long ( so like 3 months ) you guys get pretty close and right as you end your performance on the day you do it on front on the whole school the ending is like a twirl type thing, and umm he leans in or you lean it and boom.

So it only makes sense for a Johnny holiday au !! it’s an established relationship and basically just a fluff of you two setting up decorations for the holidays, (idk if you celebrate xmas so ahh sorry) but like putting up a tree and lights, getting hot chocolate jamming out to xmas music. I can see Johnny trying to get you to slow dance like even during a hype xmas song and it being very cute and intimate only for him to just start like jumping up and down right before you kiss. Chest Fire (l.dh)

Summary: He wasn't the same. No one was, really. But, especially him...Donghyuck. He lost you and can't bear feeling sober anymore. He needed to be numb so he didn't feel himself and get lost in his own mind. But the guys are getting tired of watching Donghyuck drink away his money--but the damage had already been done.

Donghyuck stumbled the now home feeling club where sweaty bodies pressed against each other and peach scented vodka drifted through the humid and sticky air.

The alcohol was making his fingers turn into fire as his toes curled in his combat boots. Another random girl walked up to offer him a dance, but he turned her away already knowing that she couldn't move like you. You were special, and no whore at the club could compare to you, yet he still came crawling back here for the simple fact he couldn't crawl back into bed with you.

He was lost and needed help because his heart was losing its sense of direction. The booming of the bass vibrated through his shoes as his fingers curled into his palm. He needed to stay balanced and he was finding it harder with every passing minute.

He lousily made his way over to a bar stool, not wasting a second before sitting down. "Anoth-" Hyuck was cut off by the bartender. "Im sorry buddy, I'm cutting you off. You've had way too much to drink tonight." He said and Donghyuck was just sitting there, his mouth wide open in shock.

"I am...You-you should..." He slurred over his words, trying to at least get 5 more drinks out of the bartender he now deemed as a friend. Yet, this guy saw himself as Hyuck's friend too, and friends don't let each other kill themselves by drinking their pain away...even though it might help.

Yet, the raging fire in Hyuck's chest only became more apparent at the sudden news of his cut off.

"I think it's time I call Mark, Hyuck. It's time to go home." The bartender said grabbing his phone from his back pocket; and like a cherry bomb...Hyuck exploded.

"No." He slammed his fists on the bar like a 5 year old. "No no no." He repeatedly said slamming his hands down. "Give me more. You're not my father." Donghyuck said and the bartender just sighed and felt pity at the sight.

Stares were coming from each direction as the man gave in to Donghyuck's wants for more liquor. Hyuck sat down, drinking his beer through a straw because he had read somewhere that women liked 'sophisticated' men. Yet, even after 20 minutes of him sitting there sipping his bitter liquid through a neon yellow bendy straw, he finally gave up when he was now drinking air through the endless loops of the bendy plastic.

Even if someone came over and talked to him, he knows he could never take them home to where you used to lay; where you and him had pillowtalks; where you and him did things that only the moon kept secret. It would never be the same...no matter what girl came skipping along.

This was his last resort on trying to cap the memories he had with you. The alcohol was no match for his loneliness though, and it was starting to show. "Hey buddy, you good?" The bartender asked, putting a hand on Hyuck's shoulder. "Uh yeah...totally." Donghyuck chuckled. He turned to face the other man again. "How much is my tab?" Hyuck asked as he grabbed his wallet.

"Why? Usually you pay after 2 weeks." The guy said as he dried a glass lazily. "Not this time my man." Hyuck said fooling around with his wallet. "No, seriously. It's fine." The bartender said going into a folder and ripping up pieces of paper that were labeled as receipts.

"I was gonna pay!" Hyuck said getting defensive. "No...I promise it's fine." The bartender said and Hyuck groaned as he still slipped a 100 out and gave it the worker. "For all the trouble I caused." He said and the man just grabbed it hesitantly. "Thank you?" He questioned, but Hyuck was already out the door with another beer in his ring adorned hand.

He stumbled in a literal circle for 20 minutes. "Hyuck." He heard someone call. It sounded like you. He immediately stopped and looked at the beer. "Hyuck!" Someone screamed this time. "Y/n?" He called out, turning around now. His heard was whooshing with all the passing traffic; all the bright city lights blending together. The fire on his chest wanting to grow more and more at the such sweet sound.

"Y/n!" He yelled and the people passing him gave dirty looks but he was trying to find you. "Hyuck." Someone grabbed him from behind. He whirled around and was met eye to eye...with Jaemin. "...y/n..." is all that Hyuck muttered to himself.

"No. It's Jaemin." Jaemin reassured and the delirious boy could only nod, meaning he could understand him. "It's time to go home now." Jaemin said holding Hyuck's arm and leading him to a car.

"Can we go to y/n's place?" Hyuck asked like a five year old who just lost his favorite toy. Jaemin opened the passenger door and helped the boy in.

You and Jaemin were twins. You were siblings but acted like best friends, so naturally when you and Hyuck started dating, the three of you became family. So seeing Hyuck so hung up about you leaving him...it hurts Jaemin too.

"I don't think that's a good idea, buddy." Jaemin sighed, buckling his best friend up. "Please. I need to see her." Hyuck gripped Jaemin's hand. "Please." He choked out, tears ready to spill at any moment.

Jaemin removed his hand and groaned; slamming the door with such a force that it rocked the car a little.

"We're here." Jaemin braked hardly infront of the homes for you and what seemed like a million other people. Hyuck was jolted awake, but he was still thankful for the hour trip Jaemin made.

Jaemin just looked out his window and sulked like a pouty baby. Hyuck had sobered up a little and he was able to control himself and his own body.

He hopped out of the car and walked the short way to the gate. He opened the small gate and walked up the foot path to your house. The walking distance felt like muscle memory as he recognized the familiar feeling.

He was then met with the glimmering marble stuck in the ground. He stared at your engraved name in the ground. He just sighed, falling to his knees. "...hey baby..." He said sitting on his bottom and crossing his legs so he sat like a kindergartener in class.

"I miss you." He sighed again, tracing hearts next to your name. "Jaemin misses you...he's just...scared to come visit you..." Hyuck said looking back to the boy sitting in the car. Even in the complete darkness of night, anyone could see Jaemin's body shake with sobs. The light behind him made it look like a shillouete. It was absolutely beautiful yet heartbreaking.

Yet his body straightened again and you could see Jaemin light a cigarette quickly.

Donghyuck looked back down to you. "Jaemin started smoking again." He sighed and picked at the weeds growing around your headstone. "Renjun doesn't come out of his room except for missions." He said and recalled what the others were doing.

"I caught Jisung in your room, trying to talk to you...he's been a mess." Hyuck told of the younger boy, totally lost with the fact you aren't around anymore. "And...we're just all...really sorry it happened like this."

You died in a mission gone wrong. You had the option of staying in the truck with Chenle, or accompying Hyuck and Jaemin into the warehouse where Jeno, Renjun, and Jisung were working undercover. You all didn't hear the man sneaking up behind you, and when you did...it was too late.

Hyuck was twirling his engagement ring around his finger. "This is useless." He said and took it off, setting it right next to yours that was locked in marble forever. He leaned back and looked at the stars. They were so bright that night. It was crazy. "...let me let you go already..." He mumbled as he watched a star fizzle out completely.

"I love you." Hyuck said leaning down and kissing your stone sweetly. "...wait for me..." He said as he got up and walking away back to the car. He hopped in, now completely sober after the experience.

"Ready?" Your brother asked, ready to speed away from this place that held you imprisoned. "Yeah...I'm ready." Hyuck said and they zoomed away as if they were still threatened by the attacker that took you.

"..soon enough..." Hyuck whispered to himself, setting his chin in his hand and looking into the city. "...soon enough..." He closed his eyes.

THE NEXT DAY

Hyuck didn't sleep at night, literally. He sat up on the rug the whole night, afraid of the harsh reality that once he opened his bedroom door, you wouldn't be there. He knew you weren't there, he just doesn't want to accept it.

You both were so strong and had so many plans for the future. You both wanted kids, a home, a life...and it was all down the drain now.

It was just getting harder to live everyday when his every breath felt like a gunshot to the chest. His mind was a bomb, and it was going off every time he is reminded of you and the way you used to tell him it was okay.

"You fucker." Jaemin yelled as he shot the man down quickly. Hyuck dropped his gun and grabbed you as you began to drop.

"Chenle, get 127 unit down here, man down." Jaemin called and Hyuck was still frozen in shock, yet the bullet stuck in your neck made him snap in and out of this icy trance.

"Come on, you got this. Keep your eyes open." Hyuck said taking off his bandana and getting ready to wrap it around your throat so it can stop the bleeding. Yet, you wouldn't be able to breath . Him and Jaemin realised this at the same time, as your eyes became icy and pale. You were dying. You realised this too. It would be a painful and gruesome way to go, but it was happening.

"It's okay." You motioned with your mouth, the hole in your throat, not letting you speak. The look on your fiancés face would haunt you to the other side. He looked so...scared. "It's okay. I'm here." You mouthed again and touched his cheek. He just looked down at you as you took your final breath. Jaemin hasn't told anyone yet, but he was so ready to pop one on himself in that very moment, yet he was so convinced this was a dream that all he did was stare down at your cold and pale face.

Jaemin woke up the next morning and wished he didn't. Hyuck didn't sleep till the next night; he was too afraid of the dark and the thoughts that would cloud his mind once he was alone, wanting to be with you.

Hyuck was now laying in a baby position, holding his legs close to his chest. The knocking on the door brought him out of his dark thoughts. "Open." He mumbled and the door opened to Jaemin.

"Dude...we've been at training for an hour now." He said and all Hyuck did was nod, understanding what he was saying. "Sorry?" He yawned and Jaemin slumped at his friends expression.

He sat down next to his laying position.

It was pure silence until it was sliced by Hyuck's heartbreaking confession. "It hurts." He said, and Jaemin didn't have to be a genius to figure out what he was talking about. "I know...i know." He said putting his hand on Donghyuck's shoulder. "It hurts so much." Hyuck cried, curling up into a tighter ball.

The firey feeling in Hyuck's chest was like never before. It felt so much different as your literal other half held him as he cried like a child.

The burning was unbearable as his eyes screwed shut in pure agony. Jaemin couldn't help the tears from pouring either. Sitting on the ground in yours and Hyuck's apartment was all too real. It was too real you weren't here anymore.

Hyuck finally calmed down and looked to his friend. "...please...please end this..." He begged and Jaemin couldn't yell at him. He wanted to end this pain too. The bottle of aspirin wasn't doing anything anymore. It all hurt too much for any medication to numb it.

"...I'm...not going to kill you..." Jaemin breathed, the words falling out of his mouth. "...please..." Hyuck became desperate to make the raging in his chest and head stop.

"I'm...no." Jaemin said standing up now, leaving Hyuck on the floor. "It hurts...I know...It hurts like hell. But, you can't give up now. She wouldn't be happy with this..." Jaemin started getting into his own mind.

He had been so long without one of your hugs or seeing you smile at his surprise tickle attacks.

"I...I know it seems like the only way. I know that." Jaemin said pulling at his hair.

"Because it is." Hyuck bursted through the air, throwing the TV remote at the wall. It ended up hitting the vase and made it shatter into a million little pieces.

"I'm tired! I'm tired of coming home alone! I could lie, and say it's okay and that I like it that way, but I don't!" Hyuck screamed, kicking things around to get his point across.

"It feels as if I'll never be happy again, and at this point I don't care. I just want this..." Hyuck said pointing to himself and all around the room. "this....I want this to end..."

They were left together in the quiet room, the only sound being their breathing. They could only look at each other at a time like this.

"I just don't know what to say anymore." Mark sighed as he ran a hand through his disheveled hair. They were all in practice, and Jaemin had left about an hour ago to find Donghyuck.

"None of us do." Renjun mumbled, twisting his leather bracelet around his wrist.

"He's gonna end up killing himself if we don't do something." Mark said what everyone was thinking. "We just need to get him out of the house." Mark finished as he grabbed his jacket.

"No...we should let him be alone...he'll just be aggressive if we tell him to move on." Jisung finally piped in, trying to get everyone to turn around and leave Hyuck alone.

"Jaemin has it...it will be okay." Jisung said, more of assuring himself than anyone else.

Everyone looked at each other in silence, even though they knew it wouldn't be okay...ever.

"...okay..." Mark said dropping his jacket and walking back over slowly.

"...30 pushups..." Mark said and the Junior Forces hit the ground, their worry and fear going into the performance they were all wearing on their face.

"...i'm cold..." Jaemin muttered and Hyuck could only nod, the tears falling down into the blue water. "...me too..." He muttered.

He held Jaemin close to his chest, the water sloshing over the sides a little bit. "...it's going to be okay..." Jaemin reassured Hyuck, but also himself. "...i know..." was all that was muttered from the slightly older boy.

"...thank you..." was the last thing said by Hyuck before he grabbed Jaemin's hand. He closed his eyes as the banging and yells from the front door began to get more violent, the rest of the units trying to get to them. Yet, they were in the bathroom and no one could make it to them in time. It was already over.

Jaemin gripped Hyuck's hand one more time as he felt everything become still, shuttering in the cold water that entrapped both of their bodies. Both of their eyes closing, and the raging fire in their chests finally stopped....

...everything stopped...

oh thats a good one... ok this got so fucking long IM SORRY

nct 127 - i love them a lot they're obv my main fandom and as individuals they're breathtaking just like all of nct but... the line distribution is always terribly unbalanced with mark and taeyong eating up the entire song every single title track. moreover i definitely have a problem with taeyong's voice ( though that's not only in nct 127 ) and it really sucks because in baby don't stop he had sung lines and his voice was perfectly fine - they're obsessed with making him a rapper and they shouldn't ? he's a great vocalist, sm should acknowledge that more often. i get wanting more rappers but like if you're gonna have a rapper idk make it one of the boys who barely get lines like sicheng or yuta lol, even jaehyun is more of a vocalist than a rapper so making him a rapper is weird... johnny's right there anyway he needs lines too and i think he is supposed to be a rapper so. i really wrote a lot just for taeyong i'm sorry skshsjsb just a bit annoyed his actual skills get overlooked by sm even though he's nct's poster boy with mark.

we need ot10 back together soon but honestly having sicheng in both nct 127 and wayv was... a terrible move. very different units, both very busy bc they're focused on different marketing when it comes to who they want to reach, sicheng will have to sacrifice more than one nct 127 or wayv comeback to be with the other group that's promoting at the time like we saw with superhuman, wakey wakey, while he was with wayv for regular and take off ( even tho he got no real lines in regular... clowns sm ). it's just a shame sm can't even stick to their actual units and give them proper managing. also nctzens need to realise taeil & doyoung aren't the only vocalists, jaehyun is amazing and in fact so is jungwoo ? nobody ever talks about his vocals but he is... great hello ? i'm gonna waste so much time on hyuck rn so hold on.

the way sm won't acknowledge hyuck's vocal prowesses also bothers me. he's been improving a LOT and if your focus is on hitting high notes this boy can hit crazy high notes just like taeil, sm just won't give him the lines bc they're milking taeil's voice and that's all they use him for ( which i hate... i love taeil so much when will sm treat his artists right lol !!! ). he's also a great dancer but i think people forgot he was great because of his hiatus and like ok but he's been back for months haha. one last thing... let the members collab w/ artists who aren't jason derulo please n thank yooou.

now... to stop criticising sm's management for now... nct 127 is a great subunit. the members have real chemistry and work off one another very well, the unit remains diverse and the songs are PHENOMENAL. i don't care what anyone says about cherry bomb or firetruck it's just that people have bad taste i won't hear it. the visuals are always amazing, except johnny's wig in wakey wakey but that's in the past... i like the differences we see from cb to cb and yet it remains true to nct 127. you know which subunit you're listening to even with the contrasts and that's Cool, yeehaw ! i think i can shut up abt 127 now lmao.

wayv - TRANSCENDENT. seven members, not too few nor too many, the line distribution isn't too bad for once ( except regular but that's just how regular is i GUESS, also ten is definitely being favoured ), the main dancers get to show their abilities ( though i'd have enjoyed more centre time for sicheng in take off bc... that was really ten's song in all aspects lmao ), i don't know about the other wayv rappers' singing abilities but chill rapper lucas was a good pick. i'll say yangyang and hendery aren't too bad either ! xiaojun's vocals make a man dreamy ( i am a man ), kun... should get more lines hehe of course he should i love his voice and he just doesn't get enough yet. like i said they really favoured ten with their actual debut, looking forward to see how they handle the line distribution in the future. the management must be a bit different given wayv isn't only sm from what i understood ? it's a bit too soon for me to properly have an opinion on wayv aside from what i said about sicheng earlier and well, the line distribution and centre time overall. ten is my wayv bias but like, the others should still get some attention, they're not idols just to look pretty in the background lol.

nct dream - as individuals i LOVE them of COURSE i do... but this subunit's concept is a bit clanky to me. the whole graduating thing leaves a bitter taste in my mouth especially considering mark just graduated which means the 00 liners will graduate this year... all four of them... and hyuck hasn't even made a cb with dream yet. they'll probably introduce new members in the upcoming months but watching it unfold makes me worry about an nct dream with just chenle and jisung, now i'd love a song with both of them but maybe not as nct dream lol. thankfully they also hope they'll be able to have nct u songs as og nct dream which is what i was definitely hopeful for so it might happen, not yet but maybe some day.

sm made nct dream but everyone including nct dream got SO attached to the og unit it just feels like it can't work, especially since it's been three years and no new members have been introduced yet. it's been og nct dream up until december 2018, there had been no changes, sm just... handled this bad once again ? lmao. idk how to explain it but that sums it up ? aside from that i have nothing to say about the line distribution and all, i think it's handled pretty well on dream's side... even though the only dream content we've gotten this year was dnyl akshdjh. i love it of course but like it's not an actual dream cb so it's a bit... yeah.

this unit has SO MUCH potential. it could be used SO WELL if the management wasn't done by sm. we could get the best bg content sm could put out without shinee and ot9 exo but we are let down TIME and TIME again. i won't even develop on that because i know everyone thinks the same so i don't have to do the maths for you skhsjsdjdhdj, this just gets me so Mad i hate sm's management so much. it's like they think that bc they've got the best artists out of the big 3 and so they can just do whatever they want and it'll pass but i can't STAND THIS holy fuck bring back f(x) you fuckin uglies stop clowning rv let suju disband at LAST do SOMETHING RIGHT

You really couldn’t comprehend why he felt that the god forsaken ‘shoot’ dance was necessary here. This was Chain, not Cherry Bomb. You shivered at the memory of that god forsaken choreography. Those splits still haunt you.

He sulked as he stood up, ready for the others to get back from their break. The 7 other boys started filing in before you had a chance to check if Mark was actually upset. You flicked Johnny on the forehead to grab his attention.

“You’re apologising to him later.”

He whined at you for a second before Taeyong was pushing him to get up and join the rest of the group, shooting you a smile as he caught you and Win Win pulling faces at one another like school children.

Practice, as always, dragged on. You loved watching the boys dance but, God, the smell of sweaty men was the opposite of a blessing.

You watched patiently as they repeated their moves over and over, smiling to yourself every time someone made a ridiculous face or exaggerated their lines. You were slightly thrilled when Taeyong finally called an end to it all, rubbing his back as he threw himself down on the floor in front of you.

“You did good TY. You should go eat something.”

He rolled over and nodded, cringing as Johnny dropped down beside you and sloppily planted a kiss on your cheek.

“Dude, that’s gross.”

He scowled. Johnny was playfully rolling his eyes as you heard Hyuck shout ‘YOU’RE NASTY’ from across the room. You stood up, sticking your tongue out at Hyuck as you started dragging Johnny with you and out of the practice room, throwing ‘goodbye’s to the other boys like confetti.

You made sure to stop in with Mark and check if he was really mad first. He wasn’t. Not at you, at least. You’d make Johnny apologise later.

The two of you were quick to make your way out of the building, more than ready to go home and order takeout. He’d probably make you binge Stranger Things again tonight. You were fine with that, though. It was a good show, you know?

The drive to your apartment took much longer than you’d expected and you’d both started getting irritated due to your hunger and his overbearing sweaty smell. As soon as you got home you were pushing him toward the bathroom, making sure to check him out as he peeled his shirt off on the way.

Being the considerate girlfriend you are, you decided to order the food while he was cleaning up, pulling the menu you were all too familiar with from it’s place on the refrigerator.

“Do you want chicken?”

You shouted down the hallway.

“Yeah!”

You placed your order quickly, not needing to give them your address since they knew you so well already, well aware that you’d now have at least an hour and a half to kill.

Just as you’d made yourself comfortable on the couch, you caught Johnny shouting.

“BAAAAABE, can you come here?”

You woefully threw yourself off the couch and dragged yourself out of the living room, opening the door and catching a cloud of steam right to your face.

“What’s with the sauna?”

You questioned.

“It’s cold out, let me live.”

You leaned on the sink, scoping out his body behind the wonderfully clear glass of the shower door as you asked him what on earth he could possibly need from you while he was in here showering.

“Actually, I just wanted the company.”

You can pretty much hear his smile. You couldn’t pretend it wasn’t a cute sentiment.

“You want me to hold a conversation with you while you’re wet and naked?”

“I do it for you all the time when we’re-”

“OKAAAAY I get it.”

You hid your face in your sweater as he laughed at you, opening the door slightly to stick his head out so you could properly see how he was raising his eyebrows at you.

“You could come in here with me if you’d prefer. It’s nice and warm.~”

You shook your head at him, already removing your leggings and raising a brow right back at him.

“If you insist.~”

Opening the door wider for you, he shuffled himself back more so you could stand under one of the shower heads. You felt blessed to have one on each side. It meant neither of you had to suffer whilst freezing to death.

“Nice to see you here.”

He pulled you against him, nuzzling his face into your neck and squeezing you.

“Some creep invited me into their shower. Who am I to say no?”

You felt his breath against you as he laughed and moved back from you, turning around and signalling that he wanted you to wash his hair for him.

“You realise I’m not 7 feet tall, right?”

“Shhh, I’ll kneel.”

He scoffed before making good on his promise and kneeling down in front of you. It was a weird position. You were used to it, though. Johnny always loved the intimacy of showers and he loved the feeling of your nails massaging his scalp even more so.

You took your favourite shampoo, knowing he preferred the smell, and began massaging a decent amount into his hair. You took longer than you needed to, of course. You liked to savour these strange bonding moments you had with him. Your concentration was broken when you heard a deep moan, trying to hide your amused giggle.

You poked his cheek and told him to get up, shaking your head at him when you realized that he now had a very prominent boner.

“This always happens. I swear to god, I should know better.”

He was quick to latch himself onto you after he rinsed his hair, wrapping his hands around your middle and planting sweet kisses to your neck.

“I’d say I’m sorry but, like you said, you should have known better.”

You both laughed as you gave in and wrapped an arm around his neck, pulling his face up from your neck and into something that sort of resembled a kiss, though it was really just the two of you smiling against each others lips. You grabbed the back of his neck and guided the kiss into something more serious, feeling his groan against your mouth as he pulled your hips flush against him.

“If we slip, I’m eating your food and mine.”

He nodded and smiled for a second before hoisting you up by your thighs and wrapping your legs around him as carefully as he was capable of as he pressed you against the back wall, smart enough to keep you both between the streams of water where you’d be able to stay warm but not have water running all over your face.

You tapped his hip impatiently as you dragged your other hand down his chest, digging your nails into his abs slightly and savouring the deep groan it forced out of him. You felt him line himself up with your entrance and begin to slowly press himself into you as he caught your lips in a needy kiss that ultimately turned into him groaning against your mouth as you panted against his.

He was pretty big. The girth is what got you most, though. You didn’t think you’d ever be able to adjust to him fully.

“You okay?”

He asked, softly grinding his hips against you. You kissed him again and tightened your legs around him.

Brows raised, you jabbed his hip with your knuckle as you reached for the container that held the well earned treasure you had so patiently been waiting for.

“Remember how Mark was pouting earlier because you embarrassed him with me and didn’t apologise?”

He looked at you as if you were the most suspicious thing he’d seen in years and questioned you, confused.

“Yeah, we both made fun of Mark’s crappy meme choreography suggestion. What about it?”

Your smile was sarcastically sweet as you fell onto the couch, Johnny not noticing that you’d stolen a heaped portion of his chicken. You pointed your chopsticks at his neck, laughing as he rubbed at it.

“That’s what you get.”

he’s steadfast and has resilience to put up with SM (and possibly a bit naive but hey that’s Hufflepuff)

not to mention he’s the one calm voice in NCT’s sea of crackheads

I have Kun picked as an almost “pure” Hufflepuff, he just screams comfort and trust and friendliness

never enough, pt 2

once upon a time, you and mark were lovers. but, some things don’t work out as you let your emotions of insecurity break apart the love you shared. back to the present, you and mark meet up once again as music majors who have to compose a song together.

part one ← part two. ➝ part three.

you dreamt about meeting mark. you envisioned this scenarios many times. they were all different from each other. the stark contrast was always on what kind of expression he had. most of the times, it was a sincere one. no malice as the boy wasn’t able to bare such emotion. there was another constant in the mix. the distance. it was an arm-length away. neither of you dared to vouch into that space. it was the space that marked your ever-wallowing emotions. it was also the leeway that justified the day you broke two hearts. yours and his. but, most importantly his.

but, here you were. your hand willing crossing the barrier, fingers eager for touch. you thought for a moment maybe he wouldn’t hold it. but, he did.

if this happened in more favorable circumstances, you would think mark’s touch was euphoric. it caused electricity to course through your veins. the blood racing as your limbs are trying to retain their strength. but, you’re thankful by how your focus was on your sticky fingers. the remains of the dried-out coffee cause sweat to accumulate on the dents of your palms. that’s why your heart relaxed the moment you heard the word you always longed to hear. you pulled your hand quickly, the remains of palpitation still pulsed through your palm.

despite you didn’t really thought about it, donghyuck and yukhei did. they noticed how hasty your action was. you sensed how your best friend’s eyebrow rose, questioned the nervous energy you radiate. at the sudden gaze, you felt self-conscious on how your sudden pull would be taken. god, you were just hoping mark wasn’t taking it the wrong way.

“ha, good. i don’t think i need to worry much then. you’re a good artist, after all.” you asserted, tone filled with genuinity.

your features that were plastered with anxiety somewhat softened. the tails of your lips were upwards, a smile you only handed to him. mark remembered that look very well. it was the look he usually caught you had when you stared at him with awe. adoration crinkled in your eyes.

whilst you two shared these gazes whose weight was becoming evident to bystanders, donghyuck’s curiosity simply grew. it was like trying to contain a burst of flame. he cleared his throat to have everyone’s attention.

“oh?” his tone released an airy feel to it. his head tilted as his gaze fixated into yours. under his eyes, you felt rather intimidated. “i been having this question running through my head for a while actually. how do you know mark? or better yet, why you keep acting between knowing him and not knowing him at all?” his words strung in the air that grew tense.

your fingers reached for the hem of the shirt, crumbled the piece of fabric. your first reaction was a rather foolish one as you let the nervous bubble of laughter burst. it resonated on the confined space you did. “uhm,” your throat somehow found your voice under the crumples of your body waiting to combust. “mark and i have history, per say. yeah!” your tongue tried to adhere together as you grew scared of getting tied together between your debate to lie or tell the truth.

“i just- we have known each other for awhile.” you settled for that answer, slightly proud you didn’t stutter. but, you knew that wasn’t the answer he was searching for. but, mark rescued you from the scrutinizing his best friend was putting you through.

“stop giving her that look, hyuck. she’s right. we’re acquaintances.” his voice mellows out the situation, a depth of hurt concealed by his kind nature. donghyuck realized this as he has been friends with the boy beside him since eternity became a word.

“i’m not questioning that. i’m just curious on how you know each other.” he refuted, a pout etched on his lips.

“well,” you said, your mouth eagerly betrayed you. “we met through music. i quickly became his fan. i really like that song, sentimental.” your tone managed to not quiver under the three gazes focused on you.

at the mention of the song, mark’s facade faltered a bit. his lips weren’t able to maintain the friendly smile he upheld. sentimental was a song he composed when his emotions were too wild. he couldn’t keep the wild beast called the heart in the confinement of his ribcage. hence, he let it free when he wrote sentimental. sentimental was the song about your break up.

donghyuck who witnessed quietly this interaction finally connected the dots. his eyes widened, lips parted at the new revelation he just unveiled. before his throat could vibrate with sound, yukhei intervened. his own mind twirled the gears and connected the straws without a destination.

“i agree! it’s a great song! but, y’know. my heart lays with the songs cherry bomb and we young. those songs always have me hyped!” his tone fragments the quiet atmosphere that loomed over your shoulders. you have never been more thankful for yukhei’s ever so friendly personality.

you saw how mark’s expression returned to its glory. the big eyes that held the stars and the smile that challenged the sun’s spark. his cheeks are painted with the prettiest shade of red, deluded between the space. a sheepish laugh escaped. “i’m glad you guys enjoy my songs. i hope you keep supporting them.” his tone rimmed with joviality as his eyes wandered from yukhei’s to yours.

“of course! you know i’m your biggest fan!” your best friend chimed with a chirpy tone to compliment.

your features were no longer the stone figure you molded. it broke apart with a similar smile as mark’s. it was a smile that expressed the warmth that oozed throughout your body. dang, his effect on you hasn’t lost any impact. “i’m sure i will.” your voice somehow turned softer than you realized. it was so soft, so quiet that if you were farther, it would have been carried by the wind. but, mark was always good at catching words that weren’t meant to be heard.

donghyuck cleared his throat once the initial shock faded from his system. or well, it wasn’t as overwhelming as it first was because he didn’t sign up to be part of a drama. for all he knew, he signed up to sing his heart out and that’s it.

“y/n,” he called your name with that sweet voice of his. you simply turned your head in response, eyes catching his. “i’m sorry, i misjudged you right there. you see, my boy mark here,” his arm latched beside the other, arm over the shoulder. “he has been through some heartache and i’m just trying to protect him from it.” he knew those words were meant to hurt. they were meant to raise something that was buried. which, it worked.

your eyes twitched slightly, your fingers cramped and you had to reposition your feet to maintain stability. the instigated reaction caused donghyuck to realize that this love you and his best friend had still burned. he confirmed his assumptions as those stories from mark found sense. so, it was time to put his role as the protagonist’s best friend into action. his mind already had several plots on how could this relationship of yours will be executed.

“hey, don’t say that.” mark replied immediately, hand against donghyuck’s chest. “it’s not even true and how is it relevant? hyuck, that’s not nice to assume.”

guilt revolted in the pit of your stomach because of course. they seemed to be close friends. why wouldn’t donghyuck not know about you? or well, more how he caught the hints that were unconsciously dropped.

“it’s okay!” you spoke again, cringed on the inside. “i understand. i wouldn’t want my best friend to be hogged by some random strangers.” you said as your arm wrapped around yukhei. more than this action being meant to brag, it was meant for comfort. you were glad to see how the boy caught the message as his hand reached for yours.

“don’t we have it so tough mark? being handsome is always a hard chore. we are lucky to have people to support us on this journey.” your best friend jested as he tried to lift the mood.

you weren’t exactly mad at donghyuck for saying such a crude statement. it was meant to be raw and you knew it. if someone hurt yukhei like you hurt mark, you would probably react the same way. but little did you know, it was just donghyuck giving you his last judgment before giving you his blessing.

mark laughed at the comment, the joy emitted. “we are lucky! but, hyuck here is more popular than i am. just while ago, renjun called him to claim his spot as his number one best friend! imagine that level of threat.” your ex followed with ease, trying to cause the conversation to rift somewhere else.

“what a relatable struggle! y/n here keeps talking about nana this and nana that. i swear my best friend status keeps getting threatened.” he huffed with fake annoyance as his eye met yours.

you scoffed at his behavior, a sound resembling a snort. “yuki, we went through this. nana is my other half while you are my best friend. totally different titles.” you refute, arms crossed as you stared at him.

“yes! different titles. mark, you are my bro while renjun is my best friend. glad to see y/n has intellect.” donghyuck joined again, the penetrating intent gone from sight as it boiled on the background as it maneuvered a plan.

“that’s the same concept. it’s just having a lot of sidehoes because you can’t commit to one hoe. sounds like someone i very well know.” yukhei said with humor, one you found yourself laughing at.

“that’s not true! i have one sidehoe and it’s not you. it’s chenle. he is the sidehoe who i lie about being my favorite junior when he shares the title with jisung.” you humored back, some of the weight of before removed. but, you see how mark and donghyuck share gazes at the mentioned names. this seemed that it would become a usual thing. the questioning thing.

“wait, you said chenle and jisung?” mark questioned, for the first time speaking to you directly.

“yeah. park jisung and i are roommates as neither of us really wanted to live in the dorms. zhong chenle is nana’s roommate.” you replied back, not sure why you were being very descriptive.

“oh my god, the world is so small. we fucking know jisung park and zhong chenle too. mark and i share hip-hop classes with both.” donghyuck snorted his reply as he saw the evident shock on yours and yukhei’s faces.

“are you serious? how come jisung has never talked-” you said before you stopped mid-sentence where your eyes flashed a flashback where jisung is over in the kitchen telling you about his new seniors. he said one of them looked like a baby lion while the other looked like a monkey. “oh my god! you two are baby lion and donkey! that makes so much sense. yuki, these two are the ones jisung kept using casual language.” you exclaimed, excitement rushing through your words as the two were rather embarrassed by how you used their nicknames so easily.

“oh, baby lion and monkey, huh?” your best friend’s face approached theirs, scanned it. “oh boy, you do look like baby lion and a monkey.”

before either of the two boys could refute back, you see how someone said an loud “hi” at your direction. you see it’s none other than lee jeno with the most gorgeous smile you have seen in your life. god, no wonder you had this big crush on this boy! you started waving, only to realize everyone else is too. jeno arrived at the spot, offered a smile to everyone. only you seemed to be the one who slightly blushed at the sight.

“oh wow, i didn’t know all of you were friends! if i did, i would have made a bigger goings!” at the sound of his words, it caused your stomach to feel like it broke apart.

so, not only you’re meeting your ex again. you’re working with him again. your best friend is working with his. you both share common friends. but lastly, your crush had to be great friends with your ex!

what a fucking joke.

“what happened to your shirts?” the newcomer asked, eyes glued to your shirt. the better question would be, what didn’t happen.

“life.”

buT THEN IN THE MIDDLE OF PROMOTIONS THEY DECIDED TO DYE HIS WHOLE HEAD PURPLE AND BLESS US ALL!! like, I have a hard time picturing mark with extremely bright and extravagant hair colors (like hyuck or chenle) but lemme tell ya mark looked so damn good with the purple holy shit sm brinG THAT BACK!!!

and then at the end of promotions (obvs prepping mark’s hair for dreams debut) they decided his scalp hadn’t been through enough, so they bleached it and made him blonde (((’::::

dreams debut!!!!! whoop whoop!!!! they dyed mark’s hair a rose gold tinted color and honestly?? he looked hella good???? idk what I was saying earlier about not being able to see mark pull off bright and extravagent colors cause my boy absolutely slayed orange, purple AND pink!!!
