16, 17, and 19 for all of your boys, please? — thatravenpuffwitch
Hi Erin! Thank you so much for sending an ask! It took me a little while to write this, so I appreciate your patience! ☺️ @thatravenpuffwitch
16: Anger
Being a protective person with a impulsive flaw, I wouldn't doubt that there would be a few times when Cato gets ahead of himself. When he finds out that Barnaby was abused by his Death Eater parents and that his grandma is miserable, Cato tells his friend that he would want to teach them a lesson. In response Barnaby would tell Cato he understands his strong feelings about the issue. However he'd also remind him that it is not very likely a good idea. Cato's friends help him learn how to control his impulses.
As a first to third year, I imagine Brian is prone to getting flustered when someone challenges his quidditch ability. Sometimes one of his rivals would challenge him to a race. Usually it's Brian who wins but he's gotten his arms and legs broken a couple times. He's pressured to keep proving his skills at Quidditch. As he grows and gets more confident, he is less easily swayed by them.
When Danny helps his friends against bullies, I think at first he's pretty quick to shout at them to stay away from his friends. It's another example of how he can be intimidating. Eventually though he's more reasonable and is less quick to resort to harsh methods. Danny can empathize with others who have insecurities that make them torment their peers. It takes time for him to adopt this because he has a hard time recalling his own memories of abuse. He's also ashamed and embarrassed about them.
17: Soft Spot
Cato has a soft spot for beautiful photographs of the sunset and sunrise! Sometimes he'll stop and admire the view of the sky if it looks pretty. He also has a thing for hugs, and will give one to a close friend on their birthday as long as they're okay with it. He usually asks first though.
For Brian, he probably has a soft spot for autonomous sensory meridian response or ASMR. Sometimes when a professor writes on a black board, Brian will get these tingles in his while watching them. The tingles are a relaxing, soothing feeling that puts him at ease!
Danny's soft spot is an interesting one! He could appreciate different forms of traditional music from various countries around the globe. To him, they're both relaxing and mysterious tunes. Such as the East Asian music with the flute, which kind of reminds him of his old hometown in the Appalachian mountains. The fog over the green slopes has to blame for that…
19: Favorite Photography
Cato's favorite photograph has to be the colored one of the sun setting over the Black Lake! Particularly the one Chiara gifted him when they became friends. The picture was taken by James Potter and given to Remus Lupin. It serves as a reminder that tomorrow is always a new day. No matter the darkness, the sun will always rise the nest morning!
I'd imagine Brian would enjoy studying photos of great architecture. He'd enjoy trying to pinpoint the architectural styles buildings were constructed in, such as Art Deco.
Some of Danny's favorite photos would be those of the Mojave desert in full bloom! Vibrant wildflowers bloom after a rain storm over the arid plains. Nevada is the topmost place he'd want to go on vacation to, among many. However nothing beats wonderful pictures of Danny and his found family of friends at Hogwarts!

Immortal Soul:Black Survival Characters Streaming
Adela:would stream completely unrelated things and casually be recognized as a chess champion. like. she’s playing smash or something and someone says “HOLY SHIT YOU’RE THE ADELA GRO” and she’s just like “yes”
Adriana:burning a house down asmr. on a more She Is Healing note, the asmr definitely could involve her using lighters, paper, or dolls to make the nice sounds. collabed with celine once, it was a very fun disaster
Alex:his job realistically would make streaming very impractical for him but i selfishly want to imagine him doing twitch sings. i guess realistically he could host things that are way more audience based, like when people let twitch chat vote on what they do next. keeps his privacy for the most part
Arda:Just Chatting category where he’s digging up bones. Just Digging
Aya:A Real Cop Plays Cop Games because imagining her trying to play a game like la noire is amusing
Barbara:probably one of those streamers that are kinda rude to viewers? but also one of the streamers that just clams up for several minutes when someone donated over 50 dollars to them
Bernice:he wouldn’t know what streaming is
Camilo:positively unbearable streaming, he’d be the kind of guy that doesn’t thank for donations at best and gets high and mighty about it at worst. just chatting so people can focus on his face probably
Cathy: definitely a wild experience. in an rtgame mario party stream it randomly went on for an hour about what toad looks like under his hat, and i think that’s the shit that’d happen every time. cursed discussions and pure chaos
Celine: plays games normally, but then the moment she can blow anything up she immediately jumps at the opportunity. a bomb appears onscreen and everyone spams OH NO as she goes over to it
Chiara: most definitely wouldn’t stream considering her impressive cocktail of mental issues, but i like the idea of her occasionally showing up in someone’s stream for a minute or two every now and then. namely emma but i am biased in that front
Chloe:probably would make a regular “show” of sorts with her marionette shows
Daniel:very rarely would stream, partially because in one of his first streams someone told him to play one of those really bad children’s games where you cut hair and he decided that he didn’t want to
Echion:he’d play fighting games and have a Heated Gamer Moment where he says a slur
Eva:i like to imagine that she’d be your average streamer, playing a variety of games, very nice and affable, but then at a random point she uses her telekinesis to get something and just never addresses it
Emma: Magician Reacts To Magic Tricks
Fiora:probably talks to people about bladework. i can imagine her teaching people how to replicate characters’ swordfighting animations
Hart:probably would stream the process of making her music. simple much like her, really
Hyejin:known for accidentally breaking games and triggering glitches constantly. everyone keeps asking her how she does it since it makes for a fun experience, but she always says she doesn’t know how she does it
Hyunwoo:strikes me as the sort to play fighting games and be pretty good at them. for some reason i can imagine him trying to play fall guys and being pretty bad at it
Isol:y’know how khoi, genshin impact albedo’s voice actor, became well-known because of shit he says on people’s streams, but does not stream himself? that
Jackie:probably would play battle royale games, ironically enough
Jan:really wholesome streamer who plays fighting games, because a shadow of the true self remains in the pogchamp
Jenny: would do dramatic readings
Johann:he’d most likely preach in streams
JP:livestreams the process of hacking someone’s account on a game. gets banned on twitch
Lenox:Just Fishing
Leon:unboxing cute things. i can imagine someone asking him why he has so much cutesy shit and him just being like “shhhhh”
Li Dailin:mukbang but instead it’s drinking
Luke: i feel like i’ve talked enough about luke streaming for this to be repeating myself
Magnus:just the idea of him streaming fills me with dread so i shan’t
Mai:i don’t know why but i’m OBSSESSED with the idea of her initially streaming the process of designing clothes and talking about it, but having a single stream where she rates kids’ games related to clothing or fashion. none of them got a rating higher than 3/5 (because she is definitely the sort to rate it out of five instead of ten, prove me wrong)
Nadine:she strikes me as the sort of person that wouldn’t stream. however, nothing would stop her from appearing while other people stream. someone called her on when they played skyrim since she’s “an expert”
Nathapon:probably should not livestream because he would definitely forget to mute the mic or end the stream, but if he did i feel like he’d be a Just Chatting guy. he might play geoguessr
Nicky:channel point reward where she’ll do a stunt right there right then
Rio:genshin impact streamer, ganyu/general bow main. i get that vibe from her
Rozzi:vtuber probably, but entirely because she doesn’t want to use a webcam
Shoichi:the idea’s funny but i don’t think he’d stream. if he did i do like the thought of like, his daughter passing by in the background and chat going nuts
Silvia: neglects switching the screen to an “i’ll be back” screen when leaving briefly. i can imagine her trying out a rhythm game at someone’s request and doing horribly at it for some reason
Sissela:art streams for sure
Sua:asmr streams where she reads stories with peaceful music in the background, or just chatting streams where she helps people with any issues they had lately
William:definitely streamed wii sports at least once
Xiukai:i like to imagine that he usually did cooking streams but at some point decided to play cooking mama out of curiosity. “she needs to buy better cooking utensils, the blender lid won’t stay on, her freezer freezes everything within seconds”
Yuki:probably wouldn’t stream because if you’re streaming, you can’t cut out any slipups or parts that get overly long. perfectionism
Zahir:definitely wouldn’t know how to stream, but if he did i imagine he’s be the kind of streamer that’s very very quiet

FFWF!
Seeing as I finally plunged into the first part of your Rakepick ficlet and can’t wait to read the second part later, how do you design scenes and as graphic and action filled as incorporated there? What’s the writing process?
Much love to my favourite writer, you never fail to make me want to write better myself 💛💚
I need to reply to your comment on the Good!Rakepick AU fully (because seriously, MY HEART IS SO FULL, you are too wonderful to me, chere 😭), but in the meantime...
When I made up stories as a kid, the visual component always came first for me. When I started writing stuff down as a preteen, I even wrote in screenplay form, rather than in prose, so I tend to see the events of my stories in my head before figuring out the words to try to describe those images to someone else. I'm afraid it's something that's kind of second-nature to me, so I don't know how much advice I can give, but I'll try to break it down in a way that makes sense.
For me, I'm a rather visual learner. Everyone has their own style of learning, whether it involves watching/reading something (visual), listening to someone talk about something (auditory), or by physically doing something (kinetic), and I think that quality can also extend to how your brain interprets, translates, and internalizes information in general instead of just in the classroom.
If you're a visual learner like I am, then taking that time to visualize your settings and characters might make it easier to write a scene that other people can follow.
If you're an auditory learner, maybe speaking the scenes out loud can help. I actually do this too, using the auditory element to help me visualize the characters and check the scene's pacing. ASMR videos on Youtube could also help you place yourself in a certain location: I used one for the first time while writing my Disneyland-centric story TrueMagic, and it ended up helping me visualize the environment better and even inspired some details I included in the description of the location too.
If you're a kinetic learner, perhaps acting out the scene physically or being in an environment kind of like what you're trying to get across can help. I'm not really a kinetic learner, but there's one scene I wrote for Lack of Lamb Sauce that had to feel very physical and raw, so I actually waited until my apartment was empty and all the windows and doors were closed and then went into the living room and proceeded to physically mime and act out this one scene I was writing, lashing my arm out with an imaginary wand and screaming, as I tried to place myself in this character's shoes. Having that physical exhaustion in my limbs and tapping into those intense emotions by lashing out at no one actually helped me visualize that particular scene better so I could write it.
My interest in theater arts and film sort of helps in all three of these cases. Visually, I imagine the blocking of a scene the way a director might for a play, TV show, or movie; I try to hear how the characters deliver their lines in my head; and then like an actor, it's sometimes helpful to actually do what the characters are doing or otherwise "get into character" by dressing the part or immersing yourself in the environment.
When dealing with fight scenes in particular, in the real world, stage or film combat is often referred to as "fight choreography," and the word "choreography" is important, because like a dance, there is a rhythm to it. It's good to narrow down how the fight starts and ends and what the combatants on each side want (which should have some point of conflict). Then one can focus on pacing, starting simple and then growing more complex and raising the stakes bit by bit. For the first part of the Good!Rakepick AU, this thought process could work thusly --
The fight starts because Rakepick attacks; Tulip, Tonks, Liz, and Barnaby fight back; and Ismelda, Diego, and Chiara and later Carewyn, Talbott, Bill, and Ben come to help them.
The fight ends because Carewyn refuses to give Rakepick what she wants and Jacob arrives to violently disarm Rakepick.
Carewyn's goal throughout the scene is to protect her friends. Most of Carewyn's friends' goal throughout the scene is to prevent Rakepick from accessing the Vault and capture her. Chiara's goal throughout the scene is to heal Barnaby and the others.
Rakepick's goal throughout the scene is to push Carewyn far enough that she kills her. This directly opposes what the others want because the Circle of Khanna capturing Rakepick would make it so she can't make Carewyn do what she wants and paragon Carewyn would only purposefully hurt Rakepick if her loved ones were in mortal danger.
I remember one of the filmmakers behind Disney's Aladdin (the real animated one, for the record) once talking about how the climax between Aladdin and Jafar "raised the stakes" so well by showing Aladdin and the others come up with possible solutions, only for each one to be counteracted, therefore taking more and more options for success off the table and making things worse and worse every minute. Aladdin tries to snatch the lamp -- Jafar spots him reflected in Jasmine's crown. Aladdin tries to hold Jafar back while Jasmine runs to grab the lamp -- Jafar traps Jasmine in a giant hourglass that's slowly filling up with sand. Abu tries to grab the lamp -- he's turned into a wind-up toy. Carpet tries to grab it -- they get magically unwound. Aladdin tries again to grab it -- Jafar brings down a cage of swords around it. Aladdin grabs a sword and prepares to fight -- Jafar breathes fire and turns into a giant snake...and so on and so forth. In the part of the Good!Rakepick AU you read, something similar happens with Rakepick and the Circle of Khanna. Talbott and Carewyn arrive to help, with Talbott landing a blow on Rakepick and Carewyn helping Chiara get to Barnaby and the others -- Rakepick lands a curse on Diego that physically tortures him. Tonks tries to retalliate -- Rakepick casts a circle of flames around Tonks, Chiara, Barnaby, Tulip, and Liz to trap them. Talbott, Bill, Ben, and Carewyn all try to fight back individually -- Rakepick blocks their spells and enchants the statues to contain Talbott and Ben. Bill and Carewyn team up and actually end up giving Rakepick some trouble -- Rakepick picks them apart and makes Carewyn panic by trapping her BFF in an enchanted sinkhole she can't pull him out of...and so on.
I hope this both makes sense and is helpful? 😅

Ciao Quattrocchi!
Abrams insieme a Doug Dorst. Come ce li presenta? Intrigante no?
