Okay but hang on a minute.

So I don’t actually think the Nations are tied to their land because that’s not like... what a nation is, but they are shaped by it. A Nation-tan wouldn’t just spring up out of the land, is what I’m saying.

And Hima has said that little Chibimerica was not a country but the “ingredients” for a country and this makes sense given that what would eventually become the United States were colonists from Britain.

So that means that the tiny cute little boy was actually the representation of a rebellious and independent spirit the whole time and England should have feared him and... ahem dispatched him from the start. But because of Enlightenment philosophy that created those ideas and because of their shared people and because England was lonely... he just found America adorable and loved him instead... which would ultimately lead to where it obviously led.

Okay I’ll refine this idea later, I just wanted to get it out there.

My favorite Cosplay this year was my son’s America costume. I loved how it came out anf it was lots of fun cosplaying England and America at cons.

I am a just getting back into cosplay after over a decade off not doing it, and my son’s costume is the first thing I have ever put together entirely from scratch, so I was extremely proud of it (usually my cosplays are a mix of found items and things I altered, like my Engand costume there)

Oh chibimerica >3< Your son is so cute and you two look adorable together! I’m glad to hear that you’re getting back into cosplay after so long! I love hearing that there are cosplayers out there who have been around since the community was young. :) That was such a different scene and a lot of today’s cosplayers should consider how much cosplay has changed and evolved because of long term/older fans!
