✨I decided to redesign an old book cover project!

Here is what it looked like before

I liked the projection of the planets and stuff, but overall the composition was too plain and the colours were dull. I wanted more adventure and space in my cover design, this one felt a little too “educational”

Gh

So here I made the new sketch

I designed both front and back pages this time, to show the full layout and the feel of the book. I used rocket ship smoke to create a background plate for the text on the back page and made the emphasis on the sun placing the title in it.

Then the process started…

It was sooo much fun colouring it in fun colours, the space is always so vibrant and energetic which makes my heart happy, I could paint space all day any day! I also added a dog and placed my characters in a more story telling way so it felt more adventurous. Bringing your best friend to explore the space is never a bad idea!
