How do I make chilli con carne?
Chili con carne is a classic and flavorful dish. Here's a basic recipe for making chili con carne:
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 cup beef broth
Olive oil for cooking
Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions
Instructions:
Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add a bit of olive oil.
Add the chopped onions and bell pepper to the pot. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and ground beef to the pot. Cook the beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
Once the beef is browned, drain any excess fat if needed.
Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to toast the spices.
Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, drained kidney beans, and beef broth to the pot. Stir well to combine.
Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. You can simmer longer for even more flavor.
Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. If you like it spicier, you can add more cayenne pepper.
Serve the chili con carne hot, topped with shredded cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions if desired.
This is a basic recipe, and you can customize it to suit your taste by adding ingredients like corn, and different types of beans, or adjusting the spice level. Enjoy your homemade chili con carne!

Beef and Red Pepper Chilli
The red peppers add a natural sweetness to this spicy chilli. Serves 4 This beef and red pepper chilli recipe reminds me of the chilli con carne I ate as a child. It’s an easy recipe, even if it does require a little bit of slow cooking. However, it can be served up for dinner in under an hour. Beef and Red Pepper Chilli Chilli is the shortened name for the popular Mexican and Texan dish,…

Chilli Con Carne in the name of Trinity
Pune, 4 January, 2023, 2109 hours: Am finally comfortable with the chilli I make. I started a wanting chilli con carne from the first time I saw Terence Hill wolfing down beans with a slab of bread in They Call Me Trinity. I still am a big fan of Bud Spencer-Terence Hill movies but last year I started wondering if it was all because of the beans. It was a long time before I found out that the…
