aether, himself, had been ready to intervene. to step up in case dew lashes out but there the fire ghoul was, silent and comforting and gentle. so, so gentle.

and i guess because of the time they’ve all spent together that everyone kind of forgot that dewdrop, for all his rambunctiousness, is soft. hell’s fire may have burnt away his gills but not his heart.

so as dew stands there, bathed in the moonlight, holding the new ghoul, their hearts throb with swelling affections.

I’ve seen a lot of fics n headcanons where Dick Grayson has adhd, and I see you. But also. Consider: Tim Drake having (undiagnosed) adhd. As a certified adhd bitch myself, I have A Lot to say about this, so more under the cut.

Before we get into it, just a quick disclaimer: pretty much all of my dc knowledge is from fandom osmosis, so. If you see something that’s ooc or contradicts canon no you didn’t. Now with that out of the way, on to the main event!

Okay, so! First of all, let’s start at the very beginning. That’s right, I’m talking about Tim Drake’s “night photography”! Now I’m not gonna say neurotypical kids don’t get up to some dumb ass shit when left unsupervised for long periods of time, because they absolutely do. But. The complete disregard for the many, many dangers a young child alone in Gotham at night would face is still notable. And he doesn’t just ignore danger - he runs straight at it. That shows an impressive lack of impulse control, and inability to factor future consequences into current decisions, both of which are hallmarks of adhd. Plus, hyperfixation kinda… changes? How you perceive things. So if Tim was hyperfixated on getting the perfect shot whenever a major crime/fight happened near him, he may not have processed that he was danger at all during the part most likely to scare a neurotypical child away.

Next, we have the coffee. Yes, I know the coffee thing is super overblown by the fandom and not really supported by canon but ssshshhhhhh my world my rules Tim drinks lots of coffee. Now, this one’s kinda obvious, but caffeine is a stimulant and surprise surprise so are most adhd meds. I have seen firsthand how ppl with undiagnosed adhd will mainline caffeine as a form of self medication, whether they’re aware of it or not. Some people use soda or energy drinks, but coffee’s also a really popular choice for this kinda thing. So not only is it completely plausible for someone with undiagnosed adhd to self medicate by drinking a shitton of coffee, it’s extremely common.

Next up! We have the insomnia. Which, again, I think might be played up a lot in fic? But this is my world and you’re reading in it, so. Tim’s an insomniac. This is one of the less well known symptoms of adhd, but again I speak from firsthand experience when I say it’s a big one. Insomnia is extremely common among ppl with adhd, for a couple reasons. One is time blindness, which I’ll come back to in the next point. But also? It’s just really hard to turn your brain off. And if a large portion of Tim’s brain space is being devoted to casework, guess what. That inability to turn one’s brain off will manifest as late night case solving blitzes. Not to mention that hyperfixation, again, changes the way you perceive things. When I hyperfixate on something I often lose hours at a time, and bodily needs like hunger, tiredness, the bathroom, etc aren’t just unimportant they straight up don’t register. With the number of times I’ve come out of a hyperfocus to realize that I have a dehydration headache that’s been brewing for at least an hour, or have completely skipped a major meal, or desperately need to pee, I can 100% believe Tim not noticing any sleep deprivation symptoms until he’s finished whatever he was working on. And I, again, speak from experience when I say that if you happen to hyperfixate at something at the wrong time of night you will be staying up way later than is reasonable. Which brings me to my next point of…

Time blindness! My most favoritist thing in the whole wide world! (/sarcasm) This shit can and absolutely will fuck up your ability to be a functioning human if you let it. Having no internal clock causes more problems than the obvious losing track of time. It means your appetite is sporadic at best and you could very easily forget to eat. It means your sleep schedule has a tendency to just disintegrate if you don’t keep on it. It means being completely dependent on external clocks to know how long things are/should be taking, even for stupid shit like cooking food or brushing your teeth. It means that if you don’t set an alarm for something there is a very real possibility that something isn’t happening no matter how much you want or need it to. In short, it completely fucks up your ability to care for yourself without a lot of external regimented support. Now, who does that remind you of? Which member of the batfamily is known for neglecting his own health? I may not read many comics but the sheer number of “Tim Drake subsists solely on coffee and spite” jokes on ao3 and tumblr is very telling.

His brains. Tim is very, very smart. Have you ever heard the phrase “twice exceptional?” It describes Tim Drake to a t. Plus, I’m living proof of how you can be both smart of brain and dumb of ass. This may be more of a “my family who just so happens to consist entirely of twice exceptional adhd dumbasses” thing than something most ppl with adhd experience, but. You can be really smart and incredible at putting together complex plans, both ahead of time and on the fly, and still have. No common sense whatsoever. Which seems to be a lot of Tim’s characterization: incredibly smart while simultaneously being a complete dumbass. So make of that what you will.

And most compellingly? I think it’s funny. This kid is brothers with Dick Grayson and best friends with Bart Allen and especially next to those two people would never expect Tim to be the one with the quote unquote “cant sit still disorder”. Yknow what? Let’s take this a step further. Let’s make Bart autistic. (I don’t know enough about the flash family to say how accurate this is but for the sake of the joke let’s say he is). People see Impulse standing next to Red Robin and they think they know which one is adhd and which is autistic and they are Wrong. Tim n Bart are Completely unaware of this but the rest of their team finds it hilarious. There’s probably at least one running joke about it.

The growth of casino workers and some information about them

Cuphead is the boss of the casino, but he also owns several other businesses such as the Arcade on island 2, the Racetrack on island 3, a couple of restaurants on island 3, and etc.

Dice - top manager of the casino, Wheezy - regular manager. They both keep an eye on everything that goes on there and deal with problems that arise. You could say that Dice is Cuphead's right hand man and Wheezy is the right hand of the right hand man.

The Tipsy troop works mainly with alcohol products. Procurement, inspection, etc. It's all on them.

Pachy-Pachy and Mr. Chimes work in the arcade

Pip,Dot and Chips work in the racetrack. Horses and entertainment are their business. Laps is also there. He usually oversees the betting reception.

Hopus and Pirouletta work at the casino. They are in charge of the show program, but Pirouletta's main job is as a dealer.

Mangosteen...well....he usually does all the work he is assigned. In fact, he's not a casino employee either, but more of a live-storage of the Cuphead, but he still gets paid a salary. He's doing something, after all.

to meee :3 akechi and sumire arent exactly friends throughout january, (they only get really close several years later) but as a side effect of neither having anything better to do and the two constantly haunting kichijoji i think they inevitably fall together more often than not. ren takes sumire out for darts and shes weirdly better than she was last time (sidebar but the fact that sumire and akechi both mimic your throws but sumire sucks shit at darts too much for it to do any good is so cute) and shes like oh yeah akechi-san has been teaching me. oh wow i got a forty! unaware of the way she just blew rens mind.

i adore your andhob art do you have any thoughts about them?

I won't lie I drew that andhob art 100% as a thought experiment 🥹 I think if they were going to be anything, it would've had to be early on in the season (eps 2-3?) because by the time hob called andhera child during the duel I was like... yea... OK so this isn't happening.

what I found interesting about them was they had shared history together + it would've been interesting to see them interact as a soldier of one court and the prince of another one (NOT in a knightlord way though... in a 'i have opinions about how things are run and i also have opinions about how YOUR court does things' way). the fact that the fae courts are often at odds with each other just in a permanent state of war of attrition was really underplayed imo. would’ve been fascinating to see two people who have met each other on the battlefield have to be cordial to each other during the bloom when their courts are in the ‘pretending to get along with each other’ phase... it’s like a metaphor for an on and off relationship if you will

honestly the shared history is 100% what ruehob were missing if they wanted to play up the regency romance angle... imagine if they had been orbiting each other for a few dozen blooms before this one. THAT would've been interesting

A politician interrupts the current prophet-pope’s, walk in order to question them about a recent funding decision.

The prophet-pope is the spiritual and political leader of the Coalesced House of Hunters, Warriors, and Chime-ringers*. The current prophet-pope, Dirrum, was announced in the year 3,547 galactic, and was inducted in the year 3,553. They have described their heir, but as of yet no-one has been announced.

Leave now or read on forever.

Prophet-popes** fulfill the role of, surprise, both a prophet and a pope-like figure for the Coalesced House. They receive visions, interpret them, and discuss them with their people, and they also make decisions, organize funding, and make deals on behalf of the organizations.

There is a caveat to this, however. Prophet-popes are expected to live completely within the bounds of the House, and rely on the assistance and care of the people there. This job is usually left to those with the rank of elder, but some tasks may be doled out to other workers within the House.

Prophet-popes, in order to receive visions more fully, rely on their community more fully, and to become closer to the original prophet-pope, are ritualistically blinded once they are inducted. This is the final action in the induction, and afterwards the person is considered a full prophet-pope. At some point during their work a prophet-pope will receive visions of another Zoronxie. Repetitively, and with consistent descriptions, the prophet-pope will come to see someone they have never met- and even be able to describe how they look without the aid of their original vision. Once this person is described, members of the House will go out in search of this person. Once they are found, they are announced to be the heir to the prophet-pope. They will then take an apprenticeship under the current prophet-pope, remaining under their wing until they pass. The apprentice with then go through their own inductions, and become the next prophet-pope.

The two guards in the drawing are elders of the Coalesced House, as marked by their docked tails. By coincidence they both have asymmetrical horns, with the one on the left having a horn that is misaligned and bending backwards, and the guard on the right having a cut horn. Cut or damaged horns, claws, and horns are not uncommon amongst the hunters and warriors of the House. In fact, misaligned horns and damaged hooves are common among all Zoronxie, no matter the career, age, or illness.

It should also be said that the politician is being just barely respectful towards the prophet-pope. Lowering the head and pointing the horns is a sign of aggression, defensiveness, or plain rudeness. By lowering his entire body and just barely tilting his head up enough to be polite, the politician can display his anger without it exactly being a threat.

*The Coalesced House of Hunters, Warriors, and Chime-ringers- this is absolutely a mistranslation. While all the words may technically be true, none of the actual meaning is conveyed. Hunter and warrior are two divisions of the same career path within the House, pronounced ‘ahcl.tihl’ (.t being an upper jaw click) and ‘eyt,tlk’ (,t being a lower jaw click, or a clap for humans) respectively.

Ahcl.tihl, translated to hunter, is someone who travels outside of the bounds of the House in order to gather supplies, hunt for food, seek knowledge, or defend the house itself. This includes those that travel to other countries, city-states, or states, as well as those that travel towards the sun and into the monsoon desert, and those that travel away from the sun and into the cold desert. Lirck was an elder hunter that specialized in both travel to other countries for knowledge, and travel to the cold desert for supplies and food. Ey,tlk, or warrior, is someone who would do anything a hunter would do within the bounds of the House. Ey,tlk tend to lean towards gathering food and defending the House more than Ahcl.tihl do.

House is also a mistranslation. ‘Coalesced gathering’ would be more accurate. Temple, church, or hall would be more apt to refer to the physical buildings where the gathering is done.

Chime-ringers is not a mistranslation, but it doesn’t reveal any of the context behind the term. Chime-ringer is a reference to the noise a deity or spirit*** makes when in the presence of someone with enough awareness to hear them. It’s said that they often decorate themselves with trinkets and jewelry over their lifetimes, which makes a noise similar to a bell or a wind chime when they move.

**Prophet-popes hold no correlation to earth prophets or the earth pope. Prophet is a fitting term, but pope is a misnomer. Pope does convey the importance of the figure, but the actual position holds no actual similarities outside of occasional decision-making.

***That is not a deity and that is not a spirit.

i love Taylor too but i don’t think it’s wrong to point out that at least some of her activism is performative. her white feminism is the biggest problem she’s got going on but the point is that people on Twitter are calling her out for being performative just to be performative themselves by denouncing her. i just think it’s ridiculous people on Twitter call her out for shit that they themselves do too😭 like they’re all mad about matty or whatever but they don’t actually care about the people he’s hurt they only care about getting hit tweets and attention for “boycotting” her concerts. it’s performative. if they had that big of a problem with her they’d stop following her every move and posting about her and move on with their lives instead of tweeting about it for likes. they call out her performative activism and then turn around and do the same thing in regards to her. idk if I’m explaining this well sorry 😭😭😭

your point about taylor being performative, i don’t think not speaking up very often makes her activism performative. if anything she’s trying to avoid that and make sure she has an impact whenever she does speak up. to your point about white feminism, i know a lot of the women’s issues she’s spoken about pertain to her experience, but maybe she doesn’t feel like it’s her place to speak on behalf of women of color? idk it’s complicated and i’m over praising celebrities for posting infographics that most people only glance at for a second
