Chinese flocked to temples and fairs to pray for good health and fortune on Monday, the first day of the Lunar New Year. In Beijing, hundreds of thousands of people visited traditional fairs held in parks, as well as Buddhist and Taoist temples offering singing and dance performances and open-air markets selling handicrafts. Monday marks the first day of the Year of the Monkey — the ninth animal on the Chinese zodiac calendar. The week-long holiday, known as the Spring Festival in China, is focused on family reunion and is a time when students and migrant workers return to their home towns.
Chinese people revere the power of nature and believe in gods, so we hope to express our blessings and that the gods can hear us.
Travel agent Meng Su
Travel agent Meng Su was lining up to burn incense at the Tibetan Buddhist Lama Temple in central Beijing, which is regarded as a popular tradition that brings good luck to those praying. Meng, 39, said: “It’s also a way for us to find some comfort." Another Beijing resident, Yan Xiaying, 29, said her mother had a clear target as the pair visited the temple. "I guess my mother hopes that I get married soon,” Yan said, with her mother agreeing.
so currently my sister is smashing her singing stuffed Hoho toy and I’m scared for her future
Daily Style: Scorpio Moon teamed up with the Virgo Sun always creates a stunning beauty. There is a bit of darkness here but both are feminine signs, so soft at the same time. The day number 2, ruler by the Moon, gives us more feminine softness, as does the date number 6, ruled by Venus - goddess of beauty. The Chinese Monkey day typically likes to be silly, but teamed up with these other influences, it is refined into a gentle seducer. A classic white dress (last chance to wear white before Labor Day - haha) and silky scarf gives the right mood for the day. Our colors are black for the Scorpio Moon, white for the day number, 2, and green for the date number, 6, as well as the ruler of Friday’s, Venus.

Daily Astrology: Sagitarrius has outstanding chances to improve career and work related situations today. I know it is the day before a holiday weekend, and work might be the last thing on your freespirited mind, but please don’t skim over any situations that could win you that big promotion. Leo has similar luck today, witha little more emphsis on a pay raise or a new way to bring in more income. Taurus born around May 1st has stellar opportunities for romance, creativity, and children. Anything going on in those deparments will be so gret for you. Virgo born between September 1st and 5th should realy be feeling beautiful and on top of the world. With the Sun and Venus right on your degree, there is nothing that will be turned down to you. You are in the spotlight and should have a full year radience in your solar return chart.
A very first sketch since in re-watch the series he looks so cute in this suite. This is the next one I’ve plan to draw. How he behave around his master for first time.
When someone asks me what my favorite anime is.
Another Wukong with a pony.
I will draw him until I get bored.
I’m late! But I hope you all had an amazing Chinese New Year 🧧
Since Chinese New Year is here, I like to list down any animals from Marvel comics that represent the Chinese Zodiac for fun time’s sake.
But now this is the Updated version
RAT - Tippy Toe (Squirrel Girl’s squirrel)
Since I can’t find any rat-based characters in the Marvel universe, I had to choose Tippy Toe the squirrel instead because squirrels are rodents.

Since there are no tiger characters in Marvel, I decided to put Zabu the sabretoothed tiger here as he’s a (prehistoric) big cat.

Growing up I believed my zodiac sign was aquarius and I thought for the longest time that aquarius was a water sign because it literally has aqua in the name and it’s known as the water bearer, but I found out that it’s actually an air sign. Then I learned how the zodiacs had shifted and that what sign I thought I was born under might not be my sign so I looked into it and found out I’m actually a capricorn, cool that should be a water sign right? it’s goat fish hybrid. No, it’s an earth sign…. stuck forever under false water signs. And to top it all off I used to think my Chinese zodiac was a monkey since I was born in 1992 but since the Chinese new year doesn’t start till after my birthday I found out I’m actually the zodiac before that which is a goat and the element associated with that year was earth. So my greek/roman zodiac is a goat/fish connected to earth and my Chinese zodiac is also a goat connected to earth… none of this means anything really they’re just zodiacs but I think it’s kinda odd that both of mine are essentially the same thing.
Chinese New Year 🧧 isn’t the dame this year. Gong hay fat Choy! Tonight we’re ordering Chinese takeout 🥡
xin nian kuay kamuy
Hey so here’s a PSA I can’t believe has to be made in literal 2021. Does literally every East Asian related fandom need to state explicitly this before y’all start doing your research?
happy chinese new year!
probably my favorite holiday next to halloween: i’ve always loved chinese new year and found it fascinating and more exciting than the gregorian one. it’s year of the ox which, according to chinese lore, is supposed to be a good year for those of us born under the sign of the rooster.
so put on some red, have a cup of tea, and think good things, earthlings.
