Classic Disney cartoons - My Meme

A meme, a few months old, that I made so here I am to publish on the occasion of the 122nd birthday of Walt Disney, as well as on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Disney Studio as well as the 40th anniversary of the Disney Channel as well as on the occasion of next year as the 40th anniversary of Disney Afternoon and of course 90th anniversary of the first appearance of the best Disney character in the world.

Although I'm not a fan of Disney, especially not today, I'm still grateful that through those cartoons I entered the world of comics and fell in love with them, and that they gave me a good youth. Not only these cartoons, but others, but still a special place is occupied by these cartoons that gave the best that Disney had, that is, the focus of the real Disney, the classic Disney universe (Mickey Mouse / Donald Duck / Goofy / Chip and Dale universe). Certainly on classic shorts and classic Disney series from the beginning to the present day. Yes, I don't like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as I consider it a degradation of the Mickey and Friends characters, but that's just my opinion. I should have also put Mickey Mouse Cartoons by Paul Rudish and Ducktales reboot, but unfortunately not everything would fit. The classic shorts, OG Ducktales, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Quack Pack, House of Mouse, and The Legend of The Three Caballeros are certainly examples of great Disney series, at least for me. Although I would prefer to see some animated Disney series made along the lines of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck comics, in the right ways. By the way, thanks Disney for this one!

What did Disney do to bobby driscoll?

Bobby Driscoll was one of Disney's biggest child stars up until the release of Peter Pan. He was the lead in Song of the South which, while it has a shit reputation nowadays for good reason, was incredibly popular at the time, and of course he was the voice and model for Peter Pan himself. Then, after Peter Pan's release, Driscoll was then suddenly dropped from his contract and basically kicked out of the studios. No official reason was ever given, most reports say it was because puberty hit him hard and they didn't think he was a cute lil kid anymore, and it took them a long time to apply makeup to cover up his acne, etc etc. I personally think something worse might've been going on but again, nothing was ever officially said. Driscoll was increasingly ostracized by society and began to take drugs, including heroin, at 17. He was later jailed for his drug addiction (bc in this country, drug addicts are treated as criminals rather than people who need help) and Driscoll was completely unable to find work. He died in 1968 due to his drug usage at the age of 31. His body was unclaimed for a year because nobody knew who he was and his family didn't know where he was, and they only found him after his mom basically forced Disney to track down his location because they wanted him to see his dying father one last time, only to find out he was buried in a pauper's grave. His body is still there. The public didn't know until the press researched his whereabouts for the 1971 re-release of Song of the South, three entire years after they found his body.

What happened to Driscoll is a horrible tragedy. Disney doing that to possibly his most famous character in the Rescue Rangers movie either means that everyone involved in this film was completely ignorant of his story or– and considering how many people are in film production, this is more likely– several members of the crew were malicious enough to think they could get away with it.

I haven’t watched the new Rescue Rangers film and I don’t think I’ll be able to without getting extremely angry from what I’ve seen and read about it. Aside from the awful insult to Bobbly Driscoll, I refuse to believe “Sweet Pete” and Peter Pan are the same person. Cue me writing a fix-it fic where it’s discovered that he’s an imposter who has done something with the actual Peter Pan. Hook is so mad that someone else got to Peter first that he teams up with the heroes and goes on a rescue mission to save Peter because nobody messes with his nemesis but him.
