Happy STS! Your story gets told from someone else's perspective. Whose is it?
For Rising Shards, it would be interesting to see the whole thing from Ovie's perspective, being stuck in a bad relationship and having a rival in Zeta that was able to break free of a bad relationship, but her bad relationship was Ovie's partner cheating on her (Zeta was unaware of all of this she's a sweet bean that got pulled into a drama mess), with Ovie constantly, desperately, and self-destructively trying to earn her GF's respect when she's never gonna get it from someone whose default state is manipulating those that care about her.

Hello... Do you mind if I ask your top favorite fanfics that you've written or top favorite arts that you've drawn? Why are they're special to you? Do you have specific inspiration when you wrote or drew them? Thanks if you want to answer.....
Ah!! It's so nice of you to ask! I'll list my favorite fanfics I've done (there aren't many) since the artworks are a bit harder to define as a favorite or as something I just enjoyed working on that didn't give me much trouble.
Sinner (Bungou Stray Dogs | Fyodor x Dazai) : I'm sure it comes as NO surprise that my most popular fanfic is the top favorite I've ever written, but I'm glad it turned out that way. Whenever I finish turning it into an original work, I hope it rings just as true to all the fans who read it for Fyodor and Dazai as a standalone fiction. This one is special to me because it's based very closely on my real-life experience with an abuser who was my first partner. There's a handful of other influences on the story as well, including some Killing Stalking and Nitro + Chiral games (Togainu no Chi, Shiki route, if you're curious), but I explain this in far more detail in my author's note at the end of the fanfic! I won't beat a dead horse!
The Unpredictable Structure of Control (Bungou Stray Dogs | Fyodor x Dazai) : Fyozai is my top favorite ship for self-reflection, and since all of my writings are clearly about me (help) and the things I've felt or have wanted to feel over the course of my life, this one centered on my thoughts about asexuality and the hatred of pain along with the need to self-destruct. It's overly flowery and poetic, but the alien nature of the way I get to write when in Fyodor's perspective is one of my FAVORITE styles to play with. I'm very happy with how it came out! I don't believe there was a specific inspiration for this one other than myself and probably whatever fanfics I was reading at the time. Usually when I write, I have a basic theme in mind to build off of, and the one for this work was "second-hand self-harm".
Worth, as Determined by a Lover (Trigun Stampede | Wolfwood x Vash) : This one was inspired by one of my favorite Vashwood fics I've read multiple times by intimatopia called careful fear and dead devotion . I adore the fic and was left with a craving to do something of the same vein ever since I'd first read it! It felt so accurate to their characters and relationship, and I felt like I'd done a good job at what I wanted to do when I finished mine! There's always a little bit of me in every work, but there was definitely a LOT of current events and friends who'd inspired that one, particularly, and I still hold dear what it meant to me and them at the time. Even though one or two relationships have soured since then (not because of it LMAO), I hope if I update this work, that person will see and possibly read and feel heard. I don't know if I'm capable of that, but we'll just have to see! (Sorry for the cryptic talk on this one, it's late.)
There you go! I didn't want to do more than a top 3, otherwise I'd ramble about several others even though they're not exactly my favorites to this day. These are the few that even I'll go back and read when I'm feeling lonely, and they've somehow managed to avoid my self-disgust reaction.
Thanks again for asking! <3

there's this chirality happening in DS2 already about "memories" and it's worth digging into
since the first game is based on the nietzschean eternal return, which 2001: a space odyssey is based on, as if kojima is drawing from the inspiration of his own inspiration as a closed loop, his closure with metal gear revolves around the theme of memories and impersonation in turn, death stranding is fundamentally about the revival of such memories in spite of supression by trauma and such
louise is the linking thread between it all, reviving them for sam, sam reviving fragile's memories, cliff's memories, john's and lastly higgs being stuck inside memories, heartman as well, malingen unable to cut memories, as amelie is alive on a beach where she has access to the memories of every single human being that ever existed
so for DS2 to center "a" louise, as we know 2 already, intertwining of memories and named after another, the game might deal with overwhelming memories shaping one's person and needing to cut away some to remotely be able to continue living
so the most drastic change of the trailer past fragile's skin being healed, could it have to do with either supressed memories, or overwhelming memories in disguise? the meaning of an identity shaped by the difficulties of remembrance and altered history

Realignment - Sam Porter Bridges Imagine (Death Stranding)
Tumblr media
Title: Realignment
Pairing: Sam Porter Bridges X Reader
Word Count: 918 words
Warning(s): attempted theft of a B.B (that is the funniest warning I've ever written)
Summary: After making it to Mountain Knot City, (Y/n) and Sam are told that the B.B- Lou- needed to be "realigned". While Sam reluctantly agrees, (Y/n) is not so easy to convince.
Author's Note: I had to go dig through Jacksepticeye's playthrough of this game to fact-check something... it was an absolute pain in the ass. (I love Jack, it's just hard to dig through 2 - 2.5-hour videos)
Oh! DEATH STRANDING FANS, I HAVE A QUESTION! What characters would you want me to write about? I wanna get an idea of what y'all wanna see.
------------------------------
I grew attached to Lou almost as soon as I saw them.
I hadn't even been hooked up to the pod, but he immediately drew me in.
I had been sent with Sam to connect the Chiral Network. Not that either of us understood why. I wasn't anything special. I think they just thought that I would keep him in line.
We both seemed to bond with Lou, which led to us bonding with each other. Lou was the only other person to talk to and they seemed happy with both of us there.
It all had been going relatively well. Relatively meaning that I hadn't died, and Sam hadn't needed to bring himself back to life yet.
We had made it to Mountain Knot City, which was farther than I had ever been. I thought it was nice. Almost peaceful if you didn't count the normal dangers that Sam and I faced.
I stepped into Sam's private room to see Deadman there. I walked in just as Lou was peeing on Deadman. I froze, furrowing my eyebrows at the scene.
"Why," I asked.
"Deadman's taking Lou for a while," Sam replied.
"What?"
"It needs to be realigned," Deadman explained. "This BB is leaning too far toward the world of the living instead of sitting between the living and the dead worlds."
"He's gonna do a surgery to fix it," Sam added.
"Okay," I muttered.
"It may erase Lou's memories."
"Excuse me," I looked over at Deadman. "You're joking, right?"
"This is the only option," he replied simply before grabbing Sam's arm and pulling his cuff off. "Now, I would sit and talk with you both, but I am absolutely filthy."
We both just watched him walk into the private room's shower. When the water didn't start, Sam looked at me. I shrugged. He shrugged back before walking over, going to check on him.
Deadman grabbed him and pulled him into the shower stall.
I blinked at the sight for a few moments. I considered walking over to ask what was going on, but then I looked at Lou. They put their little hand against the pod. My heart broke.
I couldn't let Deadman take them. I couldn't let their memories of Sam and me be erased.
After tossing another glance to the pair in the shower, I grabbed the pod and ran out of the private room.
"It's okay, Lou," I promised. "You'll be okay."
I had made it to the platform just outside of the distribution center when I heard Sam speak up.
"(Y/n), stop!"
I stopped and turned to face him, holding my gun in one hand and Lou's pod in the other. He stopped a few feet away from me. Deadman stood behind him.
"Let me go, Sam," I said. "Just let me run off. You can find a new B.B."
"I can't let you do this," he replied. "If you do this, Lou will stop functioning in a matter of days. They'll die."
I took a deep breath, glaring at him. "You're lying."
"No, this is what Deadman told me."
I shook my head. I didn't want to believe that this was the only option. I needed to have the choice. I needed to hold onto Lou.
"(Y/n)," Sam said softly, going to step toward me. I pointed my gun at him. He held his hands up. "You know that won't do anything. Even if you shoot me, I'll come back."
"It'll save me some time," I replied. "You can't take Lou. You can't."
"You'll get it-"
"Them."
"-back as soon as I fix it," Deadman promised.
I shook my head, blinking back tears as I tightened my hold on the pod. Sam stepped forward slowly. When I didn't do anything, he placed his hand on the gun and guided it down.
"Sam-"
"I know," he cut me off. "They'll be back."
"They might not remember us."
"We'll work through that, I promise."
I let Sam pull the pod from my arm.
"I'm sorry," he muttered.
I looked down at the pod, waving goodbye to Lou. Lou seemed to pick their hand up and wave back to me. I chuckled, hiding any tears that threatened to fall.
I stayed on the entrance platform of the center as Sam carried the pod away. It felt weird. Empty. Lou being there had become a natural feeling for me. Without him, it felt like I was missing something vital.
By the time Sam had walked back out, I was sitting on the floor, looking out into the distance. I looked over when I heard him move to sit next to me.
"It'll be okay," he promised. "We'll get Lou back and-"
"Please stop," I said. "Don't try to make it better."
He looked down.
"I know you're trying to help... but please don't."
We sat in silence for a while. I could feel him glancing at me every once in a while, but he wouldn't speak. He just let me sit there with it. I wouldn't say it, but I appreciated that. The respect. Nothing showed me that he cared more than him being willing to be there without speaking, without me explaining how I felt.
As the first drops of time fall started dropping outside of our cover, I felt Sam move closer to me. A gentle reminder that he was there to help me. We were there to help each other.
And that was the only thing either one of us was certain about.

One of C&EN's coolest molecules for 2023, chiral triaryloxonium ion.
Tumblr media
Beyond carbon, chirality extends its charm to other atoms!
Scientists crafted an oxonium ion, where a positively charged oxygen plays solo as the chiral center. How? By cleverly locking its lone pair within a fused triaryl ring dance! (Nature 2023, DOI: 10.1038/s41586-023-05719-z).

okay actually breaking bad is a good show and its because in episode 2 waltie boy is talking to his class about chiral centers and how molecules that are mirror images of eachother can have wildly different functions and he goes to give an example and then pauses and has a bit of a breakdown before giving the example about a medicine vs something that causes birth defects and like maybe i am reading into it but the example i learned in College oChem was nasal spray vs meth and i can't help but think he was originally going to use that example and then was like "oh god. meth. i can't talk about Meth" and like that's probably a detail most people probably wouldn't know about but like... yeah. good writing.

Unraveling Pseudoephedrine: Composition, Synthesis, and Flexibility
Pseudoephedrine, famous for its decongestant properties, has attracted attention for its chemical structure and adaptable applications. This article provides a concise overview of its composition, synthesis, and diverse uses beyond nasal relief.
Introduction: Pseudoephedrine, classified as a sympathomimetic amine, is renowned for its efficacy in alleviating nasal congestion. However, its chemical composition and wide-ranging applications extend beyond this primary function.
Chemical Composition and Structure: Pseudoephedrine, a chiral compound, shares structural similarities with ephedrine but possesses distinct pharmacological effects. Its stereochemistry, centered on a carbon atom adjacent to the amino group, yields two enantiomers, with the (+) form exhibiting pharmacological activity.
Synthesis and Production: Synthesis of pseudoephedrine involves chemical transformations starting from benzaldehyde or phenylacetic acid, although regulatory constraints have tightened due to concerns about illicit diversion.
Applications: Pseudoephedrine finds utility across pharmaceuticals, chemical intermediates, organic synthesis, and research. While primarily used as a decongestant, it also serves as chiral auxiliaries in asymmetric synthesis and is explored for potential therapeutic applications beyond nasal congestion.
Conclusion: Pseudoephedrine's versatility renders it a subject of enduring interest. As research unfolds, its pharmacological potential and industrial adaptability may expand further, opening up new avenues for scientific exploration and innovation.

Vladimir Prelog was born on July 23, 1906. A Croatian-Swiss organic chemist, he received the 1975 Nobel Prize in chemistry for his research into the stereochemistry of organic molecules and reactions. In collaboration with students and others, Prelog researched quinine (a medication used to treat malaria and babesiosis and also found in tonic water) and its related compounds. Later he separated the chiral enantiomers of Tröger's base in 1944 by chromatography on an optically active substrate. Thus, he was able to prove that not only carbon but also nitrogen atoms can be the chiral center in a molecule, which other scientists had speculated for several years.

got as far as the distro center west of lake knot tonight. it’s insane, on my way back from the craftsman only one part of the road was paved. after i left lake knot from delivering the server from the mule camp, i think literally every part of the road that was on my current chiral network extent was paved. must be a lot of people playing director’s cut rn. needless to say getting to the distro center was a breeze. for some reason it started raining right after i left lake knot? it was kind of weird. don’t remember it ever raining there. it rained all the way down to the distro center more or less. didn’t know it rained there at all
