i think the main smallville fandom drama was chlark vs clana vs clois but it wouldn’t have surprised me if there were clana vs lexana ship wars. i can’t help but feel that if lana was white the main fandom drama would have been clana vs lexana and people wouldn’t have paid nearly as much attention to chloe or lois

I'm sure there had to be Clana vs Lexana drama because no matter what, fans aaaaalways care about white male character shipping lol. even if they'd certainly prefer if it only involved white female characters (I'm sure some people wanted Lex to be more into Chloe, for one xD).

and yeah, if Lana was white the fans wouldn't have given a single fuck about Chloe, unless the writers added some other "defect" to Clana's dynamic (understand, I'm talking about their perspective) that would prevent them from enjoying it or accepting Lana as the female lead, the way her race did. see: Oliver cheating on Laurel in Arrow being perceived as a flaw... in Laurel rme. thus making the fans latch onto the first shippable white woman available.
