Keeping Up With The Cabots

The Cabot family of Juniper are amongst the top 1% in wealth, property ownerships, and twisted family dynamics hinging on a morally grey, questionably existing plane. From Milton Cabot’s original venture into exploiting poor farmers to more recent exploitations of the wealthy by way of the promise of grand exclusivity there’s no questioning how they came into their money - manipulation, ruthless manipulation - and there’s no stopping them.

In the ninety years since the club was founded it has developed a reputation as the place where the toast of town can escape the tourist and bump shoulders with the most important of people over eighteen rounds of golf or throw thousands of dollars at inner city schools while they sip on millions of dollars worth of imported French champagne. It’s a bastion for the rich who like to turn a blind eye to the real issues of Juniper and the world at large and for only $250,000 annually it can be all yours. 

Cabot Family Timeline

1929: Moving to Juniper after the crash of the stock market from New York City and buying up orange groves from poor farmers, Milton Cabot makes a profit from the poor by exploiting them for use of their land in exchange for exorbitant prices.

1958: Milton Cabot announces a partnership with the United States government to sell his land for the construction of a highway connecting Juniper with the rest of the nation and displacing thousands of poor farmers all the while making enough money so that his family never have to work again.

1960: Milton Cabot announces the purchase of the struggling Indigo Sands Resort and Casino, demolishing the old building and replacing it with an ornate Greco-Revival style club house. The Cabot Country Club opens that year.

1967: Milton Cabot expands the original club by buying the land around it out from other citizens and announces a major expansion and renovation of the club. Inspired by a vacation to the French Rivera, the new country club is twice as large and twice as opulent. 

1983: Milton Cabot retires and in his places leaves control of the club in the hands of his three trusted sons. Throughout the decade they continue updating the club adding new members and solidifying it’s spot in the eyes of Juniper natives as the shining jewel of luxury and exclusivity on the island.  

1980s-90s: Milton’s sons find wives and eventually settle down starting families that will usher in the next generation of Juniper high-society. Instilling strong values and staunch expectations they each put the highest of standards on their children.

Present day: Milton’s sons announce their retirement leaving the future of The Cabot Country Club up for grabs. Now, as the old gives way to the new the next generation of Cabot cousins must decide how they will leave their mark on Juniper.

Character Intro 🤟

Cecil (ˈsisəl ) -  “ of Latin origin meaning blind.”

William (ˈwɪljəm) - “resolute protection”

Boone ( bʉ́wn) - “a blessing”

Cecil has lived in Juniper all of his life and in all that time he has yet to shake away the cobwebs and really show people that just because he’s Amanda Boone’s son doesn’t mean he’s a lost cause - spoiler alert; he is. Cecil is the living embodiment of a rockstar without the money and success of an actual rockstar. He worships at the church of rock-n-roll and oozes “I don’t give a f#$k energy.” 

His mom never wanted a kid and that much was clear by the way she barely cared for him. Growing up his home life was chaos on Shakespearean levels but he found comfort in the loving home of his best friend who he’d come to consider his unofficial brother, and by extension their family became his. But now as he grows older he battles with the crippling reality that people around him are growing up and leaving him behind for more stable cookie cutter lives. Not him though - he’ll always be that free spirited mess of a man. 

Family 👪

Cecil’s mother was never around and when she was she paid more attention to her boyfriend than her child. As for his dad... well he had left before Cecil was even born. He probably hasn’t had any real family structure since he was taken in by his best friend’s family, sleeping on said friend’s bedroom floor more than he slept in his own house. As he got older and became an adult he cut ties with his mother and they haven’t spoken in about three years. Be that as it may his friends are probably his found family and at the end of the day that’s what matters most to him. 

Friends & Acquaintances 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

Hedonism rules everything around him. Friends come and go, but at the end of the day he has his core group which I’ll probably request. These people are probably centered around those who play in his band. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention he plays in a band? I mean it should be obvious what with the whole rockstar thing he has going for him. Otherwise I’m down for whatever. I picture him being friends with a lot of people but having very few deep connections that don’t center around parties, getting wasted, or stickin’ to the man. But that doesn’t mean we can’t brainstorm something more expansive! 

Work Life 🏊

Fun fact: he once had an actual future ahead of him and like the dumb a-hole he his threw that away too. When he was scouted by a local university for their swim team he got a full ride to college, but that went out the window when he got wrapped up in a doping scandal that got him thrown out of school. So how does he use his skills in the water? Guarding the lives of locals at the beach. When he’s not nursing a hangover he’s bathing in the sun peeking at some fine young hunnies over the top of his sunglasses and trying out his newest pick up line.

Love and Sensuality 💑

What fun would a little hedonism be without tapping into a little r-rated fun? If you haven’t picked up on it yet Cecil should be considered the kind of guy you don’t want your son or daughter to bring home. He’s very selfish and acts out of passion instead of logic. He’s never had a steady boyfriend or girlfriend and has a libido so high you’d swear he was part rabbit. Lots of broken hearts and flavors of the week are to be expected. If you’re looking for fun or looking for drama, Cecil is the man for the job!

So how would the group/site feel if a blind character was app’ed? Would he/she/they be welcomed and get plots or would it be a lot more of how great they are but no plots?

personally, us admins wouldn’t have a problem with that and they would be welcomed. you should make whatever character you have muse for and i don’t think a character having a disability should deter them from getting plots.

only one more day until champagne memories is open!! we can hardly believe it either!! before the site opens we wanted to give you a big post of a couple previews that you may have been waiting all week for!!

first we have the member groups! we currently have eight regular member groups and four premium member groups!! here’s a preview of the regular member groups

we’ll leave the premium member groups a surprise for tomorrow  😉 but guess what we do have another preview for.... the profile page! here’s a little preview of the personality portion of the profile (coded by the lovely mono) and of the badges! the graphic sizes will be released tomorrow a couple hours before opening!!

Our Reservations are open!

in case you were wondering are reserves are very much open! you can check out the reserves list right here and reserves are on a first come, first serve basis. Please check there before sending in your reserve! In order to reserve all you have to do is send an ask with the face you want to reserve and your alias, we will then add it onto the list! All we ask is that you keep it to a limit of three faceclaims!  Other Guidelines to Reserves: - the desired faceclaim must be 18 years old or older in order to be reserved

- the desired faceclaim also should be verified on instagram or at least have 75k+ followers

- we don’t allow the use of deceased faceclaims or of people who have specifically asked to not be used as faceclaims

- your faceclaims lasts up until ten days after the site’s official opening
