OTD in Music History: The supreme master of music, Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750) was born in Eisenach, then the capital of the duchy of Saxe-Eisenach, in present-day Germany.
What more is there to say?
To all readers: Make sure that you listen to some Bach today (and every day).
And to the musicians, just remember: "There is nothing remarkable about playing a musical instrument. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time, and the instrument plays itself.” - J.S. Bach
PICTURED: A very fine printed copy of a late 19th-Century British engraving done by "C. Cook" after the famous 1746 painting of the elderly Bach by Elias Gottlob Haussmann (1695 - 1774).

See below for sheet music (SATB).
Chorale on Edge of Dawn after the Baroque style, in AAB form. This would’ve been written long before the events of the game, I’m sure. Each melody in the soprano corresponds with a phrase from the original song. As a joke, I attributed the piece to “Ferdinand E. van Dreihausen”--in other words, F. E. 3H.
No libretto, but that’s kind of a different skill set. Hope you enjoy!

Boss number two! Varian Gastryx (the worst name I've ever written) is in charge of Compound 18 and exemplifies their ideal of elegant, angelic perfection. As such, he's also a brutal, unrelenting combatant.
Here, I tried to express that with big drums, and buzzing, hissing synths. I dropped the choir to the back, but it still rises to the surface occasionally.

Bread and Roses - written by James Oppenheim, performed by Judy Collins and Mimi Fariña
As we go marching, marching
Unnumbered women dead
Go crying through our singing
Their ancient call for bread
Small art and love and beauty
Their drudging spirits knew
Yes, it is bread we fight for
But we fight for roses too.

My choir has a last minute event (it’s happening in roughly two weeks) and because we’re rushed our songs are just… recycled from different performances throughout the year. So I imagine that it’ll sound jarring because we have an easter song, a christmas song, another easter song, the sung our father, and then the last song, which is easter.
