I'm still reading the Buddie fic and wow, Buck and Eddie have been "fake" dating for literally two years. That's a long time to keep that up.

Honestly, it was a stupid petty fight that had Y/N running away from her house and to Atheha and Bobby. Some very hurtful things were said on both ends and Eddie was there trying to defuse the situation. Neither of the fathers thought their 10-year-old daughter would run away from home at 10 PM on a Friday.
Everyone was stressed for many different reasons. Chris wasn't but he's always in good spirits. Eddie was too but he tried to keep his cool for his kid's sake. Buck and Y/N are very similar in many ways than one can think even if they aren't biologically related. They got stressed easily and were the ones to show it more. Buck and Y/N both had a hot-tempered attitude. They also shared the same expressions and handled certain ways the same. Even though she was like Buck she was a lot like Eddie too. Eddie and his daughter could think quickly on their feet and they handled certain situations the same too but if it got too much then forget about it.
So when the fight broke out she tried to stay calm she really did but her temper was quickly rising. The fight was about how she wanted to go out to a friend's house, who was having a party. Both parents had said no but she really wanted to go so she kept pushing until it got too much and Buck exploded in anger and so did she.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
When they went and picked her up from school Friday afternoon is when the asking to go started. Both Eddie and Buck were already stressed from the all-day stressful calls they were getting. Chris had already been picked up from school by Carla and now they were picking her up. Eddie parked the truck as Buck got out and went into the school to get her.
He walked in and to the desk and the receptionist was already looking up and calling on her phone. They talked small talk and then she walked in.
"Hi, Daddy." She said and hugged him and he hugged her back embracing the warm and calming feeling she lets off.
"Hey, Baby. How was your day?" He asked as he let her go and shouldered her backpack.
"It was good! Jordan has a birthday party this weekend and I was wondering if I could go." She asked hopefully usually they let her go to things like that but they weren't feeling particularly well at the moment.
"I don't know, Baby. We'll have to see what your father says. I think we already made plans." He told her and watched her face fall.
"Oh ok." She said and they walked in silence to the black truck that is her other dad's. When they got there Buck helped her into the truck and buckled her up. Eddie looked at her face and noticed she wasn't her usually smiling self.
"Hey, Princesa. How was school?" He asked and she just shrugged her shoulders as Buck got into the passenger side of the truck. Eddie frowned "Everything ok?" He asked both of them. She was silent.
"Jordan is having a birthday this weekend at her house and I wanted to go." She said quietly looking down. Eddie sighed and looked at Buck and they seemed to have silent conversation with each other.
"Princesa, we have some things planned this weekend. You're not going to be able to go." He said calmly and she nodded and looked down. The question was dropped as they rode home. She knew not to test them but she really wanted to go but she dropped it for now and decided to ask again later, maybe they would forget that she asked beforehand.
When they got home everyone got out of the truck and walked inside. Chris greeted them happily and they all smiled. He was such a happy kid. Y/N sat at the table and started her homework, which wasn't much. Buck and Eddie were working on dinner since they got home around 5 PM and they usually eat supper at 6:30 PM.
"Papa, Daddy?" She asked addressing both of them.
"Yes, Princesa?" Eddie asked
"Yes, Baby?" Buck asked at the same time.
"Can I go to Jordan's birthday party?" She asked them and looked up and they sighed.
"We've already been over this, Princesa. We already have some plans for the weekend." Eddie said and she pouted but wasn't about to give up.
"Please?" She asked giving them puppy dog eyes. Buck's temper was slowly rising they'd already said no but her stubbornness, which she got from Buck, wasn't going to let her stop.
"No. End of discussion. Now clear the table dinner is ready." Buck said sternly. She groaned but did what she was told. She wasn't happy about it.
Dinner was tense and Chris could feel it and tried to make it less tense and it helped but it wasn't for very long. "Hey, Dad. What are we doing this weekend?" Chris asked.
"We have a firehouse event we have to attend to." Eddie said and that made Y/N frown.
"Do I have to go to it?" She asked really wanting to go to Jordan's birthday party.
"Yes, you have to. We already said everyone was going to be there." Buck said temper running high as they all finished their food and started collecting plates. It was dark now and had started raining. She followed them to the kitchen carrying her plate and sat it on the counter.
"But daddy." She began pouting and Buck looked at her.
"No means no Y/N. You're not going and that's final." He said turning around. Eddie was getting mad that she kept asking but why have both parents fight? It would just cause more tension.
"You always say no though." She said temper rising.
"You're not going and that is final." Buck said turning around to look at her.
"Please." She tried pleading one more time and saw the look on his face. "You never let me have fun." She said crossing her arms.
"We're trying to keep you safe. We've seen how crazy parties get." Buck said while wiping down dishes and putting them in the drying rack.
"So? It won't happen there." She said starting to get sassy.
"You don't know that. You're not going and that is final. Now get ready for bed." Buck said.
"Papa." She said whining. He knew he was going to get roped into this he calmly turned to her.
"Princesa, you can't go. We've already made plans for the firehouse event." Eddie said
"It's only one event I'll be missing. It's not a big deal." She said angrily.
"Yes it is a big. We told you no and that's final. Now stop asking." Buck butted in and that's when her temper exploded.
"I hate you." She said turning to walk away.
"Yea well, I hate you right now too." Buck said and she stopped and tears filled her eyes.
"Buck." Eddie said not mad anymore at her but at him. She turned to them and said something that would crush any parents heart.
"I wish I wasn't born. I wish you would've just let me die in that car accident." She said. They never kept her from the truth when she asked why she didn't have a mother.
"Yea? So do I. Right now you're acting like a little spoiled brat." Buck said out of anger. Eddie looked at him shocked and then anger.
"Evan Buckley." He said and then turned towards their daughter.
"Princesa, he didn't mean it." Walking over to her but she was already out the door and taking off running. He turned towards Buck. "If she gets hurt and worse. It's on you." He said Buck had a look of regret on his face.
"I didn't mean it but she was acting out." Buck said now starting to worry.
"I get that but so were you. I get that we are stressed but we never ever take it out on our children. We made that promise." Eddie said angrily.
"I know ok. I know. I didn't mean it. It was stupid. I wish I could take it back." Buck said just as Chris walked into the room.
"What's going on?" He asked
"Y/N and Buck had a fight and she took off. Are you ok here alone while we go look for her?" Eddie said and Chris nodded.
"Yes. Bring my sister back home." He said and Eddie nodded and then looked at Buck.
"Are you coming?" He said a little irritated at him.
"Yes of course. Why wouldn't I?" He asked.
"I don't know Buck maybe because you did say you wished she wasn't born or that wished that we didn't save her. Start calling her friends and we'll go to some of their houses." Eddie said and Buck nodded doing just that he didn't say a word. The words he said hit him like a ton of bricks.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
When Y/N had run out of the house she didn't think about grabbing a rain jacket. She just took off. She had turned off her tracker. While she was running she had slipped on the wet asphalt and twisted her ankle when she slammed into a stop sign cutting her.
When she was far enough away from the house she called her Aunt Maddie and Uncle Chimney. She was hoping they were home.
"Hello?" Maddie asked tiredly
"Aunt Maddie." Y/N began crying
"Honey, are you ok?" She asked
"I'm sorry for bothering you. It sounds like I woke you up." Y/N said, "I'll let you go." She finished.
"No Honey. Where are you it sounds like it's raining." She said
"Dad and I fought. I ran away. Are you home?" She asked and she heard her sigh.
"No, Honey. We're not. We took a little trip out of the city." Maddie said.
"Are you ok?" Chimney asked the youngest Buckley-Diaz.
"No. I'm sorry for bothering you. I'll leave you guys alone. I love you." Y/N said sniffling.
"Y/N/N wait." Maddie began but Y/N had already ended the call.
She started to limp off in the direction of another house she knew the way to very well. She went off onto a beaten path and as she was climbing a hill she slipped and got mud all over her while twisting her knee in the process and she just started crying harder.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Buck and Eddie had stopped at Y/N's best friend's, Liz, house. They parked the car and went up to the door and knocked. They waited for a second until it opened.
"Hey Eddie, Buck. What can I do for you?" Mrs. Waters asked.
"Y/N and I had a fight and ran out. We were wondering if she came here." Buck said
"No. I'm sorry. If she does turn up I'll give you a call." She said and they nodded.
"Thank you. We appreciate it. Sorry to bother you." Eddie said
"It's not a problem. Have a goodnight boys." She said
"You too." Buck said and they walked off and got into the truck and headed off. Eddie pulled off the side of the road and they began talking.
"Ok so she's not there or any other of her friends. Maddie is out of town. Do you think she would go to Hen?" Buck asked
"It's worth a shot." Eddie said and so they took towards her place. They drove to Hen's place and parked in her driveway. They walked up and knocked on the door. It didn't take long for her and Karen to answer the door.
"Eddie? Buck? Everything ok?" She asked
"No Buck and and Y/N fought some words were said and she took off. We've been trying to find her. Thought she would come here." Eddie said.
"Why don't you come in and we'll figure this out together." Karen said worried for the couple and their daughter. They walked in and sat down on the couch and they began trying to figure it out.
As they sat down Buck had gotten a call from his very angry sister. He got up and walked into the kitchen away from the others for privacy.
"Evan Buckley, explain to me why my niece calls me crying and what sounded like she was standing out in the pouring rain. You know how she deals with stress. She's too much like you." Maddie said any tiredness gone from her voice.
"Maddie it was a big misunderstanding. We had a fight and somethings were said." Buck said trying to justify himself.
"Why was so in the pouring rain?" She asked at the same time as Chimney asked the same question.
"She ran away and we can't find her." Buck said
"You better find her." She said and hung up.
Buck walked back into the living room "Maddie and Chim just chewed me out."
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
When Y/N reached Athena and Bobby's she soaking wet and shivering. She was also limping and bleeding. She had year tracks going down her face but you could hardly tell with the rain. She limped her way to the door and rang the doorbell. She waited and waited she turned around and was about to limp her way back home when the door opened.
"Y/N?" Bobby said and she turned around but almost fell. He was in his sleepwear.
"I didn't know where else to go." She said and started sobbing. He looked her over and noticed some bleeding from under her right eyebrow and running into her eye.
"Come on get out of the rain." He said and helped her into the house and down the stairs. About that time Athena had walked in.
"Bobby? What's going on?" She asked but then saw him with her. "What happened, Sweetheart?" She asked coming over to the young girl. They guided her to the couch and sat her down.
"Dad and I fought he said that he wished that you guys never saved me. I also said that I wished I was never born." She said and they looked at her.
"What brought this on?" Bobby asked
"I wanted to go to Jordan's birthday party this weekend but Papa and Dad said that we already had plans. Plans for an event for the firehouse. They said I wasn't allowed to miss it." She said taking a breath "So I ran away. I tried to call Maddie and Chim but they went out of the city. I slipped on the asphalt and hit a stop sign and twisted my ankle. Then as I was climbing a hill I slipped and fell in the mud and hurt my knee." She finished with fresh tears rolling down her cheeks.
"I take they don't know you're here." Bobby said and she shook her head.
"No." She said quietly
"I'm gonna go get you some dry clothes and then we're going to clean you up and check out that ankle and knee." Athena said and went into May's room and got some clothes she left that she didn't want or fit into then came out. Athena helped her change and then went out to where Bobby had the first aid kit.
Bobby started dabbing at the cut and she flinched but didn't make a sound. Athena took your clothes and threw them in the washer. "You know we're going to have to call them right?" He asked her and she nodded. "Well, good news is that you don't need stitches." He said and then went on examining her knee and ankle, which were both swollen. "Looks to be just twisted and sprained." He said and she nodded and yawned.
"Why don't you lay down on the couch and we'll call your parents." Athena said and Y/N nodded and laid down. Bobby threw a blanket over her. They walked into the kitchen and talked in a hushed whisper. Bobby got his phone out and called Eddie.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Eddie and Buck were still at Hen's and Karen's. "We tried her friends. We went to her favorite places. We can't find her anywhere." Eddie said.
"She couldn't have gone far. Do you have the find my family app?" Karen asked and they nodded.
"But she turned it off." Buck said and before anyone could speak Eddie's phone rang.
"Hey its Bobby." He said confused
"Hey, Bobby. What's up" Eddie asked
"Y/N showed up at our place soaking wet, shivering, covered in mud, sprained ankle, a twisted knee, and cut above her right eyebrow. She said that her and Buck got into a fight." He said and Eddie sighed and put him on speaker.
"She's telling the truth. She ran away when some hurtful things were said on both sides.
"She's sleeping on the couch as we speak. Athena is with her." Bobby said.
"Thank you, Bobby. We're on our way." Eddie said
"Be safe, it is still pouring down rain." Bobby said
"We will be." Eddie said and they hung up.
Buck and Eddie bid Karen and Hen a goodbye and they gave each other a hug and they were on their way to get their little girl.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
When Eddie and Buck got to Bobby's and Athena's it had stopped raining. Eddie parked the truck and they walked to the door at 10 PM. Buck knocked on the door and Bobby answered the door. He let them in and took them to Y/N. Their hearts broke at the sight of their little girl, she was curled up and looking so small.
"She's ok. She doesn't need stitches. Her clothes are in the washer. I'll bring them to our next shift." Bobby said and they nodded and he walked away letting them deal with their little girl. Athena got up and joined her husband. They bent down in front of her and Eddie ran a hand on top of her head. She slowly stirred and opened her eyes.
"Papa?" She asked and he nodded and then she looked over at Buck and tensed and her eyes went wide and she sat up.
"Hey it's ok." Buck said and reached out to put a hair behind her ears. "Y/N, I'm sorry I said those things. I didn't mean it. You're one of the best things to happen to me. I love you with all of my heart. I'm sorry. Please forgive me." Buck said and she relaxed and looked at him.
"I'm sorry too for running out and saying I hate you." She said in a small voice.
"Are you ready to go home?" Eddie asked and she nodded.
"Yea." She said with a yawn. Bobby and Athena walked in.
"Thank you guys." Buck said standing up at the same time as Eddie.
"Anytime guys. Y/N get better soon." Bobby said and she nodded and tried to stand up but winced.
"I'll carry you." Buck said and picked her up and she snuggled into him. Eddie opened the door for them all and they walked out. Eddie opened the passenger side of the truck and Buck gently put her in.
Eddie and Buck got in and started their drive back home. While at a stoplight they looked back and saw Y/N asleep. They smiled at their little girl. Yes hurtful things were said and she may have ran away but she ran to people she trusted. Running away was not the smartest but it was in the heat of the moement.
They got home and but got her out of the truck once it was parked and they headed inside Chris was already in bed and asleep. "I'll go tuck her in." Buck said and Eddie nodded. When he didn't come back after 5 minutes he went and looked in on them. What he found was Buck cuddling their little girl fast asleep and her gripping his shirt like her life depended on it. He walked in and planted a kiss on both of their foreheads
"Goodnight you two. I love you both." He said and covered them up and left the room. He went to check on Chris who woke up when his door cracked.
"Did you find Y/N?" He asked sleepily and Eddie nodded smiling. He walked into the room and sat on his bed.
"We did. She and Buck are fast asleep in her room. Go back to sleep bud." Eddie said to him and he nodded and rolled over and went to sleep. He kissed his forehead and left the room.
Eddie got ready for bed. He didn't like sleeping alone but knew that Buck needed this and let them be. They were both stressed and it could've been handled better but everyone was safe. Their safety is all that he cared about as he rolled over and went to sleep. Their family was complete again and nothing was going to change that.

How do we tell our son?
Y/N, Buck, and Eddie leaned on the kitchen island, watching Christopher play his video game.
"So, how are you two planning on telling him?"
"Yes, Eddie, how are you planning on telling your son?"
"Oh, so he's my son now."
"He's been your son since he was born. I inherited him just a year and some change ago."
"Yeah, this one's on you."
"Why don't you tell him?"
"And have him hate his favorite Uncle Buck? Not a chance. Have you even tested the waters on this conversation yet?"
"I asked him if he liked Y/N once."
"And?"
"And he asked if he could have his sleepover party at your place, and I had to tell him no because I was horny and we were fighting, and I didn't want him and his friends to wake up to us…. doing us. You know how much I love angry sex."
"Was that when you brought Chris to Maddie's, and we did that thing with the rope and the nipple clamp…"
Eddie stood behind Y/N, signaling Buck to stop, but it was too late.
"You what?"
"Bebe. I'm sorry-"
"Edmundo. Diaz."
"Somebody's in trouble."
"Not helping Buck."
"Are you serious? That was supposed to be our thing. The one thing that we didn't share with Buck. We share clothes, food, beds, but not that."
"I was upset, and I'm so sorry. Can you forgive me for the sake of our son?"
"Yes, just because you said "our son," and it sounds so nice when you say it."
"If you like that, you should hear me call my husband's name."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
Eddie and Y/N were chest to chest. They would have burned down the building if their sexual tension were a fire.
"You mean we could live with Y/N forever? Awesome!"
Y/N and Eddie look at the sofa to Christopher and Buck looking back at them.
"I helped."
"Dad, when do we move to Papa's house?"
"I thought you liked living here."
"I do, but Papa has a park across the street, and last time, he told me that he would teach me how to play basketball so I could beat a meatball."
"A meatball?"
"You are looking a little beefier than usual."
"Me? You think you two can beat me?"
"You are a man of many talents, but basketball is not one of them."
Y/N pats Eddie on his shoulder, earning a disheartened frown. Chris turns around to resume his game, and Buck enters the kitchen to refill his water bottle.
"Great, now that's over. Now, all you have to do is tell the crew."
"You didn't tell the 118?"
"No, I thought you did."
"Why would I tell them you spend all day with them?"
"Who doesn't know? Hen knows that means Chim knows; therefore, Maddie knows."
"Buck knows."
"Ravi was your best man, so if he doesn't know, he's more of a himbo than me."
"Bobby knows from our anniversary dinner."
"Did you tell Athena?"
"No, she scares me. But she's not stupid she has to know."
"How about this? At the Halloween party, just announce it. You'll have everyone in the same room and only have to do it once."
"That's not a bad idea."
"Look at you, Buck-a-roo."
"I help."
Buck smiles like a puppy dog, receiving a cheek rub from Y/N as his face falls in thought.
"Same room?"
"What? What's wrong now?"
"The holidays. Last year, we were in Cancun with the crew for Thanksgiving, and-"
"You were in the hospital for Christmas."
"So, which family gets what holiday?"
"My family hates Thanksgiving, so we do Christmas in Texas."
"My family will kill me and send a search party for me if I miss a New York Christmas two years in a row."
"You are just adding to the headcannon."
"Here we go again."
"I'm sorry, what?"
"Eddie thinks I'm in a mafia family just because I'm a New York Italian."
"Your father's name is Don. You have a weird fascination with gold chains and wearing sunglasses all day, you have a cousin named Vinny, you call people meatball, you said they called you Baby Gambino when you were a kid-"
"Because I was a chubby kid and snuck off to our family's bakery..."
"It's not just a bakery; it's bakeries, meat markets, pizzerias, wine shops, grocery stores, and that's just the stuff you've mentioned."
"... and I don't know how many times I have to tell you my father's name is John, but with his accent, it sounds like Don. You know what, how about you ask him? We do Thanksgiving in Texas and Christmas in New York, and when we're all at the table, you can ask him in front of my whole family."
"Maybe I will."
"If you want to die."
Y/N playfully nudges Buck into a light chuckle.

With you I'm home Chapter 2!
Fucking finally finished chapter 2 of my dad!Buck sequel!
I'm gonna count this as my Tease Tidbit Tuesday cause it's Tuesday in 2 hours and I'm nothing if not a cheater. Please enjoy a small snippet below the cut.
“So what’s the plan, team?” Buck asks, kicking his feet up onto the ottoman. “Can we have pizza for dinner?” Jee asks, perking up immediately. “Homemade or store bought?” She ponders for a second, looking startling like Maddie as she does so, before answering “Homemade!” Buck leans in as if he’s sharing a deep, dark secret. “You know if we do homemade, you’re gonna have to keep an eye on Tio Eddie? He’s banned from the kitchen!” “Why’s he banned?” Jee giggles as Eddie lets out a garbled noise of indignation. “Because he set waffles on fire. We almost had to call 911” Buck replies, winking at his niece. “So you’ll have to make sure he doesn’t do it again!” Eddie sends him a flat look over Jacks head and Buck blows him a cheeky kiss. Jee takes her duties of minding Eddie very seriously. “No, Tio Eddie, you’ve gotta do it like this!” she scolds, swatting his hands as he rolls out the dough for the pizza base. She seizes the rolling pin off him and demonstrates what is apparently the correct base-rolling technique. “You know, I didn’t know there was a wrong way to make pizza” Eddie huffs as he turns to Buck, who’s currently preoccupied with stopping Jack from stuffing handfuls of flour in his mouth. He’s just like his cousin, who’s currently entertaining himself with the tiny bit of dough Buck let him have, smooshing it around the countertop. “Look, Papa!” Aidan exclaims, looking back at Eddie with a toothy grin. “Made pee-za!!” “Woah, Aid, that’s so cool, you’re such a smart boy!” Aidan puffs out his chest, looking very proud of himself, and continues to pummel the pieces of dough, watching Jee like a hawk and copying her every move. He’s a little sponge right now, taking in everything Eddie, Buck, Chris, and now apparently Jee, do and copying it with great enthusiasm. Eddie’s been finding it adorable to watch his son soak in the world around him and learn how to adapt himself to fit in. Especially when he watched Buck pull the finger at the coffee table after stubbing his toe, and Aidan dutifully repeated the motion. Eddie had laughed so hard he’d cried.

wip wednesday
from baby acquisition fic! i haven't gotten much work on it lately because this week is like birthday hell in my family (aunt 1, aunt 2, my dad, aunt 3) and i started new meds so i'm tired all the time. i have a little bit for it, though. probably gonna outline the whole thing after i post this so i have an idea of where i'm going :)
tagged by @shortsighted-owl @buddiearemydads @messyhairdiaz @rewritetheending @lesbiandiaz @enchantedbuckley @deareddie @dorkydiaz @honestlydarkprincess :) thanks y'all
“Buck,” Eddie says, looking more than a little panicked. “Where did you get her?”
“Please trust me that I didn’t kidnap her. I woke up and she was…there. Sitting at the counter, and then she called me Papa, and then she told me to call Daddy Eddie, and I’ve been trying so hard not to lose it so I called you because I cannot go through this alone. I thought maybe I was dreaming but I pinched myself pretty hard, so, um. Eddie, meet Paloma.”
“Hi, Daddy.”
Eddie swallows audibly. Buck hates the look on his face, hates that he’s watching Eddie fall in love with the little girl in his arms when Buck knows they don’t get to keep her.
Hates that he feels the same way.
“Where’s Chris? Papa, I want to see Chris,” she says, turning to pout at Buck. She’s the cutest little thing when she’s angry. Buck wants to take her seriously, validate her emotions, and whatnot, but she’s just so cute when her eyebrows scrunch together, bottom lip jutting out. She looks like Buck when she does it, even though her eyes are all Eddie’s.
He wants to bang his head against a wall.
paloma is actually the sweetest darling in the world and i love her

Petition for season 6 of 9-1-1 to include the following:
Maddie and Eddie inter actions. Because I cannot stress enough how much I need Eddie befriending the oldest Buckley and Chimney getting all butt hurt about it and saying something along the lines of "You already have one Buckley, why can't I have this one?" I would also like to state that had Shannon not died, her and Buck would have been besties.
Buck and May interaction. I would like to stress that I do not remember a SINGLE time where Buck and May have interacted. I need Buck being the older brother May deserves.
Athena and Bobby Being Buck's Real Parents. I feel like we don't get enough interactions of Athena being Buck's mom. We get plenty of concerned dad Bobby, but not enough mom Athena on the topic of Buck. Alternatively, I would love a scene where Buck calls one of them Mom or Dad; Possibly while high on pain meds or sleep drunk, but either way, this would be adorable.
Chris calling Buck Papa. This is self explanatory, but I absolutely NEED it. Christopher clearly sees Buck as his second dad, but I would love for Chris to call Buck Papa or something of the sort. Alternatively, or additionally, Eddie calling Chris their son.
Eddie calling Buck Evan more. Also self explanatory, but you cannot change my mind that Eddie says Evan every chance he gets just to see the effect it has on Buck.
Eddie and/or Bobby/Athena giving the Buckley parents a piece of their mind. Alternatively, Buck giving the Diaz parents a piece of his mind.
Speaking of the Diaz family, I NEED TO MEET EDDIE'S SISTERS!!!! I need Eddie sibling interactions.
I believe that is all, comment what else you want to be in season 6 (other than Buddie cannon, obvi)

Been trying to find this fic for ages: I think it’s set around May’s graduation (there’s definitely a party at the start) and Chris sits on Buck’s lap to eat and calls him Papa or Pops when he’s done and Buck doesn’t notice though everyone else does and assumes they’re together . If anyone knows what it is can they please send me a link 🙏🏼

Finally! 6x15
Tax season, taxes are so weird. In the UK unless you are self-employed, the taxes just come out automatically. You don't need to put yourself through this whole thing.
Wait, if your paper records are gone that means you don't get audited? Doesn't the government monitor bank accounts and shizzle? I don't understand taxes.
Okay this dude is so weird. Did he wash his hands? Because I would seriously order a perp to wash their hands before I arrested them. I'd make a very bad cop.
Wtff???? He just??? Did he take something???
WAIT A SECOND! ARE Y'ALL GONNA TRY TO PUT ATHENA THROUGH SHIT????? NUH UH!!!! ATHENA GRANT NEEDS TO ENJOY HER LIFE!!!!!! LEAVE HER ALONE!!!!!!
Omg, eddie and chris at shannon's grave, my heart, my boys, also can gavin be any more adorable??? he is such a good actor Lmao @ Bobby, was that your attitude as well a couple eps ago???? Don't think so boo.
Same chim, i'd but as much ice cream as i could if it was 50% off. Chimney basically saved the ice cream from being thrown away Maddie. Say thank you.
Lol, taxes. JEE YUN IS ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lmfao, 'papa jail', this kid man
Yes, call an accountant! Someone who knows what this shizzle is all about. RAVI IS STILL AROUND!!!!! Loving the whole lots of testosterone in the kitchen. Once again 911 showing that what is considered domestic work is not waiting on women. ALSO THAT COP WHO USED THAT THING TO BREAK THE DOOR WAS SO TINY AND SHE WAS SO COOL BARGING IN AND BREAKING DOORS!!!!!!!!
Eddie, you just can't control your heart eyes can you?
Basically, shell out and get an accountant.
'And that piece of advice is....' I guess we will never know. Le sad. Wait a sec, wasn't Marie dead? Why isn't anyone saying anything? I think I need to rewind. It is. What the hell is going on????
Lesson learned, heels are evil but will save your life.
Buck and Eddie in action is lovely to see. Ravi is hot as hell so confident. But seriously, isn't she the dead one?
Oh ffs.
Death Doula? What is that? I am judging. Very hard. This is weird to me. I am feeling weirded out.
Awwww Eddie. You feeling alone?
Okay, is it me or does Buck seem into Natalia more than she is into him? Oh, there's that spark. Death really interests you, huh? I'm weirded out by this girl. She likes death so much.
This whole thing is so weird to me and makes me uncomfortable. It feels like it's fetishising death. I am not okay with this so much.
CHRIS HAS HOMECOMING???? He is so grown up. 'We've got time' THESE ARE NOT EDDIE'S FAMOUS LAST WORDS!!!!!!!
Chim why you sizing everybody up??? It's not prison. Not yet. Omg the conspiracy. Tax fraud??? How why??? How??? Lmao genuine. Damn. They will let really get you on anything. OH MY GOD STOP TALKING. This IRS officer is so done with idjits.
Natalia weeeeeeirds me out. Why is Buck so into her??? What makes him attracted to her??? Is it because he has an odd relationship with death at the moment? This episode is weird. I'm uncomfortable with all of this.
I relate to eating in the office so much. Is CSI theme going to start playing anytime soon? OH SHIT. OH SHIT. OH SHIT. ATHENA IS GOING TO TRACK THIS POS DOWN! Athena was following good detective instincts, that's all. How did he take off the bracelet without ripping it apart? ATHENA IS AWESOME OKAY SHE JUST IS. Man, I'd love to have money. But honest money, not evil like this douche. Athena is such a badass. Lmao 'not again' same here. Try to get away now assface! Wait, is he now dead dead? For realsies?
Aw, she's died. That's sad.
Eddie. My poor bby.
I love jealous Eddie. Oh now I get the memes. Because like what the fuck indeed? What are the writers even trying to do? I need someone else's perspective on this conversation. I need @matan4il's perspective because I'm uncomfortable with this conversation as well and she can always make everything better.
Yes! Smart Madney.
MADNEY ARE GETTING MARRIED???????? OH MY GOD YAAAAAAAAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also getting married for tax purposes is very true. My bff and her hubby mostly are in love but they also wanted those benefits.
AWWWWWWW CHRISTOPHER!!!!!!! HE IS SO CUTE!!!!!!!! Throwback to Buck!!!!!!! Shannon and Chris!!! This is making me emotional!!!!! The fact that Eddie now feels comfortable enough to go to his parents last minute shows his progress. Also his mum is still being yah know.....
You're right Josh! Chimney is not Doug. Completely different situation.
OMG HE IS LOOKING AT RINGS?????? OMG.
Welp, it's over. This episode made me feel very uncomfortable and I'm not sure how to feel about any of it. Except that Chris and Jee are super cute.

My initial spoiler thoughts for episode 6x15
I’m curious, legally and in real life, how long police actually have to wait for someone to “not respond” before they can break down a door and enter someone’s home. And this of course is knowing, like in the scene, that someone is home.
The actors (including Angela) are so inconsistent with their gun control. Sometimes the guns are pointed at the floor (which I’d assume should always be the case, just, as much as possible), and their guns being pointed directly in front of them.
Yeah the cemetery scene with Chris and Eddie got me teary eyed.
Jee-Yun calls Chimney “Papa”????? 🥺
Buck heard “death doula” and immediately perked up because our boy continues to court death like a friend. 🙃
“We’re all gonna die alone. Might as well spend time with our loved ones while we’re still living.” Maria said this… It’s got me thinking of, you guessed it, Buck and Eddie.
Buck says he died by being struck by lightning, and THEN Natalia’s interest peaked. She’s only interested in that aspect about Buck, ‘cause Natalia asked to get coffee, literally just so she can hear about Buck’s death experience.
Eddie saying to his mom “we got time” is actually an omen, and not a good one. Mmmm I smell future trouble either for Eddie, Chris, or Helen.
I’m sorry, but… I don’t get this tax thing with Maddie and Chimney. It’s painting them to be irresponsible, and kinda stupid with this? I don’t believe these two would have not talked about taxes and whatnot. I don’t even need to Google the fact that Chimney would make more than Maddie, so. I don’t get why Maddie pays for most expenses apparently? And yeah, based on income, why would Maddie assume she’s “head of household”??? Kenneth and Jennifer had great comedic timing, I trust their acting of course. I just don’t believe their characters would make this kind of mistake.
Yep, the coffee meetup, that was not a date. It was just a coffee I think especially in Natalia’s eyes, as far as I could tell. Removing my Buddie goggles, I didn’t read any chemistry there. I just saw Natalia only there for the purpose of hearing Buck's story. I think for Buck, he too was interested in Natalia’s profession, BUT I think he’s also mistaking *gestures* all of this for some kind of attraction, romantically. Because that’s Buck, and I think he’s falling on bad coping mechanisms. (you can also say: Natalia is only interested in a piece of Buck and not all of him, which Buck said he’d no longer accept.)
Seems to me Athena should not have been allowed in the autopsy, uh, area? Seems she should only ever be allowed in on “official” business. Hm. So… gonna let that slide because she’s a cop?? That’s what I’m getting.
I - don’t really get the Athena storyline in this one. It doesn’t seem to connect to anything bigger nor anything with Athena, so… Yeah I don’t get this one.
*inhales* So you’re telling me. That in the same conversation Buck is saying, to Eddie’s face: “I feel like Natalia sees me” while at the literal same time, Eddie is saying: “I know you.” …………………..Buck, honey, you’re really stupid right now (derogatory/loving).
Also, I need to think on how I feel about taxes, of all things, being the instigator for Maddie and Chimney to get married. I’ve seen people say “that’s just a queer thing to do,” but………. idk how I feel about it for Maddie and Chimney.
Eddie and Chris watching Telenovela!?! Yessss their tradition continues! And don’t think I missed it being a wedding taking place on screen.
Once again Eddie’s conversation with phrases like “why wait” mmmmmmm thinking thoughts!! But also, maybe next episode Eddie will talk about his visit to El Paso?? If they jump far enough ahead on the timeline (entirely possible).
Chimney was searching for engagement/wedding rings. dfcghjkljhg
TL;DR  I didn’t get the purpose of Athena’s storyline. I felt the tax situation paints Maddie and Chimney as irresponsible/kinda stupid, which they aren’t. Not sure how I feel about taxes pushing Maddie and Chimney to get married. Buck is ONCE AGAIN misinterpreting the assignment (please dear god, for the last time). Natalia literally just wanted to get coffee to hear Buck’s story, but Buck’s misinterpreting it all as a possible romantic connection. Buck is being hella stupid. 🙃 Love that Eddie seems to be working on getting closure on Shannon.

My lifestyle at the beginning of the year was entirely opposite of my lifestyle at the end of year: I ended 2021 living in downtown Manhattan, a city of 8.4 million people, but I began 2021 living at home in Tulsa with my dad, spending every weekend working on an A-frame cabin in Moyers, Oklahoma, an unincorporated community with a population of 451 (453 when my dad and I were there, I guess).
My entire life centered around construction, being in the woods, driving my dad’s truck, listening to guitar music, and solitude. In my downtime I watched the entirety of Twin Peaks, which was a major inspiration for the vibe of Pinecore. My life kind of felt like a combination of Twin Peaks and King of the Hill: the closest real town to the cabin was Antlers, Oklahoma, the “deer capital of the world.” The town coffee shop was called Tipp’s Sacred Grounds, and the rotating cast of visitors (local older Oklahoman couples, jaded teenage employees, the suspiciously overly-friendly owner, random European tourists who decided lockdown was the best time to do a road trip through middle America, etc.) were reminiscent of the bizarre characters and relationships in both of those shows.
Pinecore was inspired by the eerie discomfort I would feel sleeping in the woods at night, the silence highlighting every noise in a mile radius. It wasn’t scary per se, but felt more like a primal fear. It’s a mirror version of the bright, saccharine sounds of indie folk; basically, it’s evil Fleet Foxes. The sound of Pinecore is an amalgamation of country, blues, classic rock, and “cowpunk” (or country punk), which was one of my favorite music genre discoveries of this year. I would listen to these genres all day as I hammered and drilled and lifted and sawed planks of wood. My dad and I had been working for about a month and finally put up the A-frames, sealing the achievement of erecting the structure of the cabin.
The song that best encapsulates the feelings of Pinecore is Nirvana’s cover of “Where Did You Sleep Last Night?” from their MTV Unplugged session. Throughout January I was surrounded by tall pine trees in the dead of winter, away from civilization. Given the world events like pandemic and like the storming of the U.S. Capitol, life felt pretty apocalyptic. Spending time in the woods building a home with my dad gave my life a tangible purpose despite its simplicity; it was a reprieve from the chaos of the world. The ominous, deep-seated fear of the woods was more natural and preferable to the disorienting dread of what was happening everywhere else.

Okay, so apparently I have a soft spot for Chris calling Buck "Papa" in fanfic. So if I could see more of that, that would be great.

a-la Eddie baby-trapping Buck, but the baby does the trapping:
Chris can see how much Buck and Eddie love each other, also that they are both scared of making the first move. he decides to make it easy on them by integrating Buck into their family, one parental responsibility after the other.
he starts by asking for homework help, then only giving Buck volunteer forms, then hyping up his baking so Buck sweeps the competition for the class bake sale, then getting Buck to chaperone on as many field trips as he can manage.
it all comes to a head when the school calls Buck in a frenzy, telling him that he's calling for his Papa because he's fallen and hurt himself, and isn't that weird, Christopher's only ever called Eddie "Dad"...
"Papa! You're here!" "Sorry, bud, Eddie couldn't make it, he's still on shift." "Don't be silly, you're already here, aren't you?" "...oh"
"Can we get ice-cream on the way home?" "Kid, I love you, but you're not gonna play me like this."
they get ice-cream anyways
When they get home, they discuss the whole "Papa" thing, and Chris explains that clearly Buck and Eddie must already be together, because look at all the parent things Buck is doing for Chris. Buck takes that and runs with it, asking Eddie out as soon as he comes home, and the two are so wrapped in finally having each other in the way they've been pining over, they don't stop to think how Buck became so integral to the Diaz boys.

eddie yawns softly, scratching the back of his head with his free hand as he balances the holder containing the sought after coffee in his other hand. the hospital is a different kind of quiet at 3am, the kind where the world just seems softer, more gentle. stepping into the elevator as the door slides open, eddie can’t help but bask in the stillness of the air around him, the tranquility as he sighs, tapping his foot anxiously as he watches the numbers on the elevator creep slowly up and up. the door lets out a ding and slides back open, eddie blinking heavily as he steps out into the cool air of the hospital corridor. bringing a fist up to rub at his eyes, he ambles down the corridor, the lilting tone of his husband murmuring sweetly guiding him.
pausing in the doorway of the room, eddie has to take a breath. he’s seen many sides of buck over the course of the time they’ve been together. he’s seen his protective side, shoving eddie out of the way in burning buildings and even carrying him last year when he broke his ankle (which was extremely mortifying but also very attractive?). he’s seen his nurturing side, in the way he patiently helps chris with his homework and takes him to physical therapy and builds a million and one lego towers with him just to let chris knock each and every one down. he’s seen his vulnerable side, held him while he’s cried over his parents and his childhood, reassured him that he’s nothing like they ever were to him. eddie thought he’d seen every side of buck, but clearly there was one he’d been missing out on.
he’s enthralled by the beauty of it all. buck’s shirtless, the moonlight dampened by the clouds streaking into the room and giving everything an ethereal glow. he’s pacing around, humming softly, and in his hands, in those big, gentle, loving hands of his, lies their daughter. their daughter. eddie’s still struggling to wrap his head around it, that this beautiful creation. this- this angel is theirs. and sure, eddie has loved chris his entire life, loves him with his whole being and more. but he couldn’t deny that seeing buck hold their daughter to his broad chest, cradling her so delicately made his heart sing. eddie’s about to step into the room, make his presence known, when he hears buck murmuring oh so sweetly to their little girl as she gurgles, and eddie strains to hear what buck’s saying.
“hi, my angel,” he begins, soothing a hand over the back of her head. “i- i’m your dad.” he whispers, like it’s a secret he can’t quite believe he gets to tell. “i’ve only known you for a few hours now, but i already love you more than i thought was possible. more than the moon loves the stars, more than your papa loves a beer on a sunday night - don’t tell him i told you that!” he chuckles quietly, pacing over to the window, looking out at the sky as he continues. “you know, your papa and i- we weren’t always…us. it took us a long while to get here, longer than it should’ve, to be honest, and we wasted so much time.” he sighs wistfully at that, remembering the beginnings of their burgeoning relationship after one too many close calls on the job. he turns and looks down at the beautiful baby in his arms, rocking her a little from side to side as she begins to fuss.
“once we got ourselves together, i have to tell you, angel, it was as easy as breathing. your big brother chris, he really bonded us, you know? i don’t know what we’d do without him, to be honest.” he laughs quietly at that, sitting in the rocking chair next to the window, swaying them backwards and forwards as he cuddles his daughter even closer, pressing his lips to her soft, fine hair. “when you meet chris, you’ll understand. he loves so fiercely, and i just know he’ll protect you with everything he has, just like me and just like your pa. when we found out we were going to meet you today, i started crying, because i was so so happy.” he clears his throat a little, and eddie swears he hears a crack in buck’s voice as he continues. “you are so, so loved by so many people, my love, and you have no idea yet. but,” and eddie definitely doesn’t miss the unmistakeable sheen of tears rolling down buck’s cheek this time, “i am going to spend the rest of my life showing you just how loved you are, baby girl. your pa and i love you endlessly and we always will.”
at this, eddie moved into the room quietly, placing the now lukewarm coffees onto the small side table quietly as he approached them. leaning slowly over the back of the chair, dusting a feather light touch over his husband’s shoulder so as to avoid startling him. buck inhales shakily, turning his head to the side with a wobbly smile on his lips. “hey you.” he whispers quietly, closing his eyes as eddie presses a comforting kiss to his cheek. “how much of that did you hear?”
eddie simply shrugs, reaching over to curl a small strand of her hair around his fingertips. “she’s going to be the most spoilt little girl in the entire world, that’s for sure.”
buck laughs quietly, the sound warming eddie from head to toe as their little girl stirs, her tiny hands curled up in fists against buck’s chest as she begins to whine. making a concerned noise, eddie steps around the chair, holding his hands out to buck. “here, give her to papa.”
snorting a little, buck stands carefully, placing his most delicate gift gently into eddie’s hands and oh eddie had forgotten how light babies were. he was suddenly terrified of dropping her, and buck must’ve seen something on his face because next thing eddie knew, he was being guided to sit in the chair buck had just vacated, his daughter using her small hands to cling to his shirt. he began to rock the chair back and forth as he hummed quietly to her, rubbing a hand delicately over her back as he began to talk.
“your dad’s not wrong, you know. we took so long to get here, longer than most i think. and now that we’re here, it’s almost unbelievable. some days, i feel like i’m going to wake up and it’s all going to be some big, elaborate dream i’ve been having.” eddie smiles softly at the feeling of buck’s hand landing in his hair, a soothing touch, an encouragement. “but every time i feel myself beginning to fall back into that spiral, your dad is there to pull me back out. always has been, even when i didn’t know i needed it.” eddie feels himself begin to get teary at that and he swears he hears buck clear his throat yet again. his baby girls spreads her fingers against his chest like she’s trying to feel his heart beat, and he swears his heart swells in size just to allow her to get close. grinning to himself, he lifts her hand with a finger, tears finally beginning to fall as her gentle fingers clasp around his digit, sealing the bond between them for life. eddie’s voice wavers as he continues, feeling buck’s arms drape over his shoulders.
“but your dad is so right. we both love you more than you could ever know, and we’re going to make sure you feel it every single day. your brother chris, too. you two are going to get along so well, and he is going to love you and your dad loves you and i-“ eddie’s voice cracks, more tears streaking down his face. “i love you, little bean, with everything i can possibly give.”
-
it’s later, when baby girl buckley-diaz is all swaddled up in her crib at home, that buck finally says. “you know, years ago, just after you joined the station, there was a call that stuck with me.”
eddie twists his head from where he’s sat between buck’s legs, playing with the silver wedding band on his husband’s finger. “oh? which one?”
“do you remember that old couple, always out doing activities together? one of them got struck by a car and the other died on his husband’s chest?”
“oh yeah! i remember!” a pause, and then, “what about it?”
“well, before he passed away, thomas said something to me, and it always stuck.” eddie twists fully around at this, kneeling between buck’s knees.
“what was it?”
“he- he said that him and his husband, they only ever wanted to die together, in each other's arms. at the time, everything with abby was still really fresh, and i mentioned to him that i could only ever hope to find a love like that.”
a pause, and then, “what did he say?”
buck smiled, his eye glinting as he recalled the day everything changed for him. “he told me, ‘you don’t find it son, you make it.’” he wraps his arms around eddie’s back, staring at him like it was the first time all over again. “that’s what we’ve done, eds. we’ve made it. our little family. we made a love that neither of us thought we were going to find again, and we’ve made a family from fragments of others and i couldn’t ask for anything else.”
eddie smiles that wide, beautiful smile at buck and he swears he feels like he’s falling in love all over again. “have i ever told you how much i love you?”
buck shrugged, a blush rising on his cheeks. “i wouldn’t be opposed to hearing it again.”
“i love you, evan. from now until forever.”
“from now until forever.” buck agreed, bridging the gap to press a tender kiss to eddie’s lips.
their family didn’t come easy, but nothing worth having ever did.

not to have buddie brainrot but. i have buddie brainrot. so anyway. 6x03 animal instincts. listen. i think this has a Lot of potential let me ramble for a second. because we already know that buck + chris regularly go to the zoo. got the place memorized and everything. so i think they could totally get tied into the theme of the episode if it actually has animal calls. maybe it’s towards the end of the episode, they’ve done a lot of calls regarding animals attacking people to protect their young (y’all see where i’m going with this–) and people referring to it as ‘well those are their instincts’ and such and such and such and then it’s buck and chris at the zoo together. and smth happens some asshole pushes chris out of the way and buck is like ‘hey what the hell man watch where you’re going’ and catches chris before he can fall and someone’s like ‘you tell them papa bear.’ and buck is like. oh. because protecting chris is his instinct so what does that MEAN. except we all know what it means. yeah that’s my wish for that episode.

It all started with the sudden idea of Buck having a teenage son who is being passive-aggressive towards Ana because of Christopher, and then it turned into this.
Actually, I had some thoughts about Buck having a kid due to teenage pregnancy for some time, I just couldn't come up with the right scenario, only some vague ideas. But now here we are. Enjoy this drabble(?) because it stopped being a prompt a few paragraphs ago 😂
I can't seem to leave Ana alone, she's really suffering in my blog 😆
P. S. I'm not sure what age Buck is in canon. Is he like 30 in season 4-5? I don't know. I have no clue how many years passed since Eddie showed up, the show is pretty vague on the timeline (at least for me). I think by the time of season 4 Eddie was in LA for 2 years minimum. I'll leave it at that.
Let's say here Buck was 16 when his son was born.
Jasper is 14 years old during s2, then 16 during s4.
Buck is 30 years old (s2), then 32 (s4). I know he was younger in s2 in canon but I'll smudge some numbers for this story 🙃
***
Due to neglectful parents and wild teenagerhood Buck has a 14 year old son.
Buck’s parents couldn’t care less for the first child of their irresponsible son. To save their reputation once again they decided to move to another city and subsequently to cut Evan off out of the kid’s life.
Joke’s on Phillip and Margaret Buckley but, contrary to popular belief, Evan was not irresponsible, despite the accidental teenage pregnancy. Things happen, that’s life.
Buck had a job, saved some money for living, and, since this job was a pretty stable one for a 16 year old, it was enough to get emancipated. Buck stayed in the hometown to be there for his kid and help his ex-girlfriend. They decided to stay friends.
***
Eddie was shocked to find out that his new friend has a 14 year old son. Buck was quite young, so he never would have guessed that he has a kid of that age. But it was actually what brought Buck and Eddie more closer. Becoming a parent when you’re not ready, and then being a single father is hard, and Evan knows it from the firsthand experience. They bonded over this.
It didn’t hurt that Christopher followed Jasper Buckley like a little duckling, and Jasper in turn took Chris under his wing and got protective every time someone as much as looked at the little boy the wrong way.
***
Ana Flores thought she knew what she was getting into when she started dating Edmundo Diaz. An army vet, a firefighter and a father to a child with disability. She’s confident she could handle all of this.
What she wasn’t ready for is for a 16-year old kid to show up at Diaz house one evening, letting himself in with his own key and start talking frantically about some school project, it would seem. His name sounds familiar but she can’t remember why.
It took him a few minutes to notice that she was there, a recognition flashed in the boy’s eyes, and the instant glare sent her way was filled with such contempt that Ana had a sudden urge to leave the country.
Then another bombshell - the kid called her boyfriend papa.
***
You see, Jasper is sassy, and sarcastic, and a little bit of a bastard but it takes a lot for him to actually hate someone. For example, his paternal grandparents. He only met them once when he was 5 years old.
It took exactly 5 minutes for them to stress out his dad and for Jasper to start throwing his favorite and faithful blocks at their heads. Courtesy of his amazing aim and dad’s strained relationship with them, he never met them again. Thank fucking god for that.
When Jasper met Christopher Diaz, a literal sunshine, he kid you not, it was decided right here and there that this boy is gonna be his little brother, and there’s nothing you can do about it. Don’t look at him like that, he doesn’t make rules! It’s what the universe wants, and who is young Buckley to deny it? He’s pretty sure dad has already claimed Diaz boys as their family.
Eddie is cool, too. The guy is now helping him with his chemistry homework since dad is useless in the subject. But who would have thought that a year later Jasper would be so interwoven with Diaz family that he would be jokingly calling Eddie Diaz papa? Well, here they are.
When Christopher got hurt at the school trying to ride a skateboard, Jasper had half a mind to go there and throw hands with a fucking dumbass who was supposed to watch over his brother. He would never punch anyone without a provocation, mind you, but this situation left him feeling furious.
Not to mention, Eddie for some noble reasons decided to apologize to that teacher, never mind that she hadn’t done her job properly. Whether that was Chris’ idea to ride a skateboard or not, she should have stopped them, and how in the world you miss a whole ass skateboard? And what is this with a weirdo analogy with horses? For fuck’s sake.
Ana Flores is now on his shit list, alright, along with Phillip and Margaret Buckley, may these old farts rot in a garbage disposal.
----
Maybe I'll write about Jasper Buckley again, maybe I won't, who knows. Let's see if I can come up with new ideas concerning this.

buddie high school au
It all starts when Shannon meets Eddie from the rival high school and they hook up. They start going out until Shannon realizes she's pregnant.
Shannon is alone after school thinking about her pregnancy and what she's going to do when Buck finds her. They aren't close friends, but when Buck asks what's wrong, everything spills out. Shannon tells Buck who the father is, but says he won't want anything to do with her given that he's looking for baseball scholarships and has this whole bright future planned. Buck thinks that Shannon has told Eddie and that Eddie turned her away. He doesn't realize that Shannon has ghosted Eddie. He offers to be her stand-in baby daddy. They'll just tell everyone it was him so that she doesn't have to be alone.
This gets Buck kicked out his house. Maddie, who is in college nearby, says he can move in with her and Doug. This sets Doug off and he hurts Maddie. Knowing that Buck needs her gives Maddie the courage to call 911. She feels guilty about it, but Buck is more important than her relationship. Maddie moves out and gets family housing through her university. Buck moves in.
After Shannon has Christopher, she decides she isn't actually ready to be a mom. She asks Buck to take Chris and moves away. Christopher has Shannon's last name.
Carla is the high school welfare officer; she helps Buck with his new son.
Then Buck meets Eddie and, at first, hates him for what he did to Shannon, but then realizes that Shannon never told Eddie about the pregnancy. So he does and he introduces Eddie to Christopher.
Eddie falls in love immediately with his son.
This kickstarts a friendship between Eddie and Buck as Eddie spends more and more time at Maddie and Buck's residence to be with Chris.
Baby!Chris learns that both Buck and Eddie will respond to 'dada.' Though Buck starts to teach Chris 'papa' (he thinks Eddie deserves to be 'dad' since he's the 'real' father; Eddie, if he were consulted, might have disagreed given that Buck has been raising Chris).
Eddie eventually tells his parents about Chris and they want to raise Chris for him, but Eddie cannot take Chris from Buck. Plus, Eddie wants to raise his own son. This leads to Eddie moving out of his parents' home and in with Maddie and Buck. He and Buck share a bed because there is limited space.
All three--Maddie, Buck, and Eddie--end up with part-time jobs to pay for the rent and Chris' needs. Carla helps them qualify for welfare and special scholarships and more.
Eddie ends up turning down scholarships and going to work full-time after high school. Maddie remains in school. Both force Buck to continue his education at least part-time because they can see how much he loves to learn.
Eddie and Buck co-parent Christopher and it grows into something more between them. It happens slowly, but sharing that much time together makes it difficult to avoid feelings. Maddie is vastly amused by the little romance happening in her apartment.
