i feel like you would be be famous as well, probably a youtuber

you guys definitely met at a party, you were wondering around and saw matt alone so you decided to talk to him

your first conversation went something like this:

“hey pretty boy, what are you doing all alone?”

“oh um i’m ju-“

“wanna dance?”

“uh su-“

“lets go pretty boy”

then you dragged him to the dance floor and definitely embarrassed him by your dance moves (your not bad but matt was very very shy)

at the end of the night, you traded everything, numbers, snaps etc. and you guys talked 24/7

matt is definitely a soft launch person and thats how he started announcing that you guys were together but then you got bored and decided to hard launch you guys

he would do the classic soft launch stuff, food from dates, pictures of you guys etc

on the other hand, you posted a photo dump and matt was in it and you captioned it something like “i love my man” and EVERYONE was going crazy

you definitely bother the shit out of him, like you never stop talking (he loves it tho)

you, chris and nick embarrass him so much in public

one time in a gas station (because where else would you be at 2am) and an ice spice song came on you three started dancing like crazy

actually i’m so tired of every time chris opens his mouth “fans” attack the fuck out of him. he literally said “seungmin is handsome” and these fucking morons are taking it as hate to hyunjin. hyunjin who went on hiatus and chris wasn’t allowed to say his name during channies room so he was like “the guy who invented love stay is pretty amazing” the guy who reassured us hyunjin was doing ok when he couldn’t tell us. the guy who helped hyunjin to write his own songs and would stream them on channies room and talk about how talented he is. who made sure we watched his aotm when it came out. because chris literally didn’t go on bubble to talk about one out of hyunjin’s 500 fashion events he hates him???? hyunjin would laugh in your face. lmao bye

“How you feeling?” Chris placed his hand on your knee in the limo, rubbing small circles with his thumb over the expensive fabric, desperate to feel your skin.

“I might die from excitement! Did I say thank you? because this is a dream come true.”

“You’ve only said thank you 500 times… but once again you’re welcome and for the final time I wanted you to come because there was no way I was doing this alone.”

“I know I’m just super excited to rub shoulders with celebrities.” You bit your lip, shaking your head in disbelief.

“You know I’m considered a celebrity, right?”

“Yeah, but a REAL celebrity not my guy best friend who despite being a movie star is still in my mind the 12-year-old boy who pinned my down and threatened to lick me unless I gave him the last cookie.”

“Classic move. Worked every single time.” Chris sat smugly.

“You’re disgusting” you glared at him.

“Yet you love me.” He moved a hair out of your face and kissed you on the cheek.

“Do I look good?” You gestured at your dress,

“For the 20th time you look fucking amazing” Chris’s eyes scanned your body like he had done many times this evening, but this time felt like he could openly admire how you looked in the dress. Your boobs and curves filled it out in a way not many women could master, you looked sexy and classy.

“Ok good I just wanted to hear you say it again, also because Henry Cavill is going to be there and omg that man is just… swoon” You smiled, jokingly fanned your face.

Chris’s hand gripped your knee a little tighter. “Yeah. he will be…” His voice got a little quieter as he looked out of the window, slightly taken aback by the comment about his co-star.

Noticing the car coming to a stop, he prepared himself to step out.

“It’s showtime baby, now remember I’ll be right next to you the whole time but when I have to do an interview go stand near my assistant, so I know where you are, ok?”

“Yeah, yeah I get it come on!” You pushed him out of the car, his eyes rolling at your eagerness as he moved around to your door and opened it up for you.

Holding out his hand to help you out of your seat. You were immediately met to the sounds of screams and flashing lights.

Your hand still firmly on Chris’s as he eased you towards the carpet, he dropped it monetarily to wrap it around your waist, putting you in a secure position close to him.

You posed in front of the sea of photographers, increasingly more aware that you’re getting 1000 photos taken of you at once, you go tight in Chris’s grip.

Noticing the instant tension of your body at the scene in front of you, he moved his mouth down, kissing your temple “relax, they’ll love you.” He whispered against your head.

You gave him a small smile moving towards his ear “I’m shitting myself.” You whispered in his ear, his head immediately fell back in a roar of laughter “don’t worry me too babe” he said, smirking at you.

“Chris, we need you for an interview can you come over here please.”

“I’ll be 5 minutes.” He squeezed your waist in reassurance, kissing your cheek quickly as he moved to the handheld mic, and you sulked to the side-lines.

Taking the moment to catch your breath and take in the scene of chaos around you, a hand pressed gently on your shoulder blade.

“Apologies, I just had to talk to the rumoured woman of the hour.” A suave British accent startled you out of your haze.

Your eyes widened at the gorgeous man who had appeared behind you, his tall, muscular figure, looking down on you was contrasted by his soft eyes and charming smile.

“Don’t apologise… woman of the hour?”

“Seems everyone’s talking about that dress…” He gestured to your navy-blue number.

“Well, I was worried about whether it would be ok for this kind of thing, I’m not really used to it.”

“I think it’s more than ok; I’d say it’s brilliant, especially on you.” His piercing gaze never left yours as his tongue peaked out to wet his lower lip, admiring the sight of you.

Your eyes were firmly fixed on Henry’s, lost in the intense eye contact so you didn’t notice the fidgety Chris, stuttering to answer questions as he neck stretched out, trying to reach your eyes. His jaw tightened at the sight of you and Henry, jealously burned in his stomach as he watched his co-star undress you with his eyes.

Trying not to show his annoyance but it was clear his mind was half in the interview, giving vague answers of “oh yeah” “it’s great, it’s brilliant, ya know…” eyes skating towards you constantly as he shoved his fidgeting hands in his pockets, shifting his weight back and forth on his feet.

“Where are my manners, I’m Henry.” He held out a hand, you placed yours in his, where the size difference between the two become obvious. He sandwiched your hand softly between both of his, shaking slightly but never letting go.

“Oh, I know. Y/N, I’m a friend of Chris’s.”

“Friend, you say? Oh well that’s good news, I thought maybe you two were...”

“Chris and me? Oh no we are just-“ you were interrupted as strong hands wrapped around your waist pulling you towards his chest, hoping you’d ease into his grip. His mouth going to the skin between your jaw and your shoulder, placing a soft, wet kiss.

“Hey baby, I see you’ve met Henry.”

“Ahh Chris, hi! Yeah, she’s great we were just talking about you.” Henry got visibly nervous and confused seeing the sudden affection between the two of you.

Blush rose to your cheeks in embarrassment.

“Oh really! Awesome well seems Y/N here forgot about this thing we have to go do…”

“I… what…” you looked back at Chris, confusion all over your face.

“Yeah, the thing inside, come on. But hey! we’ll see you after, man. Alright?” Chris was smiling and charismatic but the look in his eyes was a clear, stern stare of “she’s mine, back off.”

The men shared a silent conversation with their eyes, marking a clear understanding that you couldn’t quite decipher.

“Yeah, of course, lovely to meet you again, Y/N hope you enjoy the night.” His hand rubbed the back of neck, unsure of whether he should kiss you goodbye but not wanting to further anger the territorial bear that was Chris right now.

Chris pulled you by your arm inside and towards a secluded hallway away from wandering eyes and all the noise.

“What the fuck was that about? Chris you just ruined my chances with Henry Cavill!”

“Good! What the fuck was that? I’m giving an interview and can’t give you attention for 5 minutes, so you go off and find someone else? Sorry I didn’t know Henry fucking Cavill was your best friend for 25 years and that he took you to a major award show as his date!”

“We were talking Chris! It’s not like I was playing tonsil tennis on the carpet - what has gotten into you? You don’t own me! I can flirt with whoever I want! Why do you always have to ruin every chance I get with a guy because you’re so miserable being single you can’t stand to see someone else happy!”

“Because I want to be with you!”

You paused in shock at his sudden confession.

“I’ve been in love with you since middle school for fucksakes and you never noticed. I saw you and Henry and fuck it yeah, I got jealous, I couldn’t stand. I’m sorry I ruined it for you, I just-“

You cut him off by planting a strong kiss on his lips. He instantly relaxed, hands falling to your waist as you ran your hands through his hair, deepening the kiss.

You pulled out looking up at him “I don’t want Henry Cavill.”

“You were trying to make me jealous?” He looked at you quizzically.

You nodded slowly. “It worked though, didn’t it?”

He shook his head and tutted “You are something else you know that?” Before grabbing your face and planting another kiss on you.

What you thought was a private intimate moment turned out to be filmed by some intern peaking around the corner. Turns out you too loud mouths weren’t as quiet when you were fighting as you thought.

Today is Thanksgiving in the United States, or a National Day of Mourning for Native Americans in New England, or "Unthanksgiving Day" for some Native Americans on the West Coast. It commemorates pilgrims and Wampanoag people sharing an autumn harvest feast in 1621. Thanksgiving days by English colonists in the 17th century were frequent, and marked what were perceived as gifts from God. Chris Newell, of the Akomawt Educational Initiative explained to Nur Ibrahim: "When it comes to the 17th century English 'days of thanksgiving,' they have no resemblance to the holiday we celebrate today. That holiday was not created until the 19th century. The English day of thanksgiving would have been a day of prayer. If they won a victory in battle that would have been a day of thanksgiving, which was normally a day of fasting, totally different from a feast." Some of these thanksgiving days celebrated genocidal atrocities, such as a massacre of Pequot people by colonists in Mystic, Connecticut in 1637. The modern Thanksgiving holiday as a feast began in 1863 at the behest of president Abraham Lincoln, and was made a national holiday by Congress in 1870. The Indigenous National Day of Mourning began in 1970, after Wamsutta James of the Wampanoag was invited to give a speech by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts celebrating the Pilgrims' arrival. James was uninvited when event organisers read his speech, which stated: "This action by Massasoit [Wampanoag leader who feasted with the English] was perhaps our biggest mistake. We, the Wampanoag, welcomed you, the white man, with open arms, little knowing that it was the beginning of the end." Daily ficlets for the CA: TWS 10th Anniversary Event @catws-anniversary. With Huge thanks to @sparkagrace and @cable-knit-sweater for running this wonderful event! 💞

“Breakfast isn’t a date,” Steve says, looking up at Natasha over his refrigerator door. “Is it?”

“First of all, I said brunch,” Natasha says, catching the bottle of water he tosses her. “There’s a difference. Second, yes, brunch can absolutely be a date. And it can be lower pressure, too. I thought that might help.”

“Lower pressure how?” Steve asks, leaning back against the counter.

“Well, it’ll be in the middle of the day. So no worries about the end of the night,” Natasha says, before taking a sip of water. “And Sam and I will be there, so it’ll be like a double date. Always less pressure.”

“A double date?” Steve echoes, eyebrows raising. “Wait, have you and Sam been going on dates?”

“That’s not the point, Steve,” Natasha says, brushing past his question.. She pulls a piece of paper out of her jacket pocket. “The point is, it’ll be low-stress, and I already set up. You just have to show up here tomorrow at 10 am.”

“I don’t know where this is.” Steve looks mildly puzzled as he reads the restaurant name on the paper.

“Yes, you do.” Natasha says, amused. “It’s three blocks from your apartment, around the corner from that bookstore you like. Google it.”

Steve blinks at her.

But he doesn’t question it.

Instead he says,

“I still don’t know about this,” biting his lip.

“It’s just a meal. ” Natasha puts a quick hand on his arm. “And I do think I got it right this time.”

“It’s not that I don’t appreciate the thought,” Steve hedges, “but with how much else I’ve got going on —“

“You can take a break from some of that, sometimes, you know. No need for 24/7 on call, anymore. It seems to me like —“ Natasha pauses, trying to be gentle, the way she’s gotten in the habit of being when she’s talking to Steve about Barnes. “Like he’s doing a lot better.”

“He is.” Steve swallows. “He really is.”

(Doing a lot better is a bit of understatement, from what Natasha has observed. And she’s made it a point to do a lot of observing.

“And that’s great,” Natasha says, squeezing his arm again. “So come to brunch. Enjoy yourself.”

Steve’s quiet for a few seconds, and Natasha doesn’t push it.

“This might surprise you,” Steve says, tone dry when he breaks the silence, “but I don’t actually have much experience enjoying myself on dates.”

“There’s a first time for everything,” Natasha says, grinning.. “Besides, you’ll have friends there, if nothing else.”

“I guess.” Steve still sounds wary, but he’s nodding. “Breakfast can’t be so bad.”

“That’s the the spirit,” Natasha says, releasing his arm. She watches Steve shake his head slowly, before frowning again..

“But do you and Sam go on dates?” he asks.

Natasha laughs. She doesn't answer the question.

She does get Steve to promise to show up tomorrow.

On her way home, she sends a text to Barnes, confirming he’ll be at brunch by 9:50 AM.

Welp I'm not gonna lie, it's all looking very, very strange

However, I do think there is a real possibility they are going for the Tom Brady celebration and that Chris is throwing a bash afterwards. I see it like this: Chris has a very, very parasocial relationship to Tom Brady (much like we do to him) and has always been super super invested and crazy about him (even to the point where he was ASKED about how he felt about Tom being a Trump supporter in a fucking interview. And Chris was disappointed but still loved him. It's absolutely a parasocial relationship)

Considering the many, many parties he throws in general for random reasons, I find it very very probable that he would throw a bash at his house after the game today, where Tom Brady will be present for the first time as a spectator, and they have said in articles it's going to be "a huge celebration of Tom Brady."

Now, why would some of his co-stars be there? Even the ones who aren't super football enthusiasts? (Renner is easy, he's gone to games with Chris before, but RDJ and Hemmy is more strange)

I honestly think they saw it as a chance of press and a reunion. They've all said before how hard it is for them to get together now. They're all on break from working which means none of them have any other engagements to keep them away. They also have no other ways of getting press in the media, other than feeding articles etc. Going to the game, getting photographed etc is a great way to get some press during this off time. And then afterwards a party with their old pals as a reunion, perhaps even staying in Boston for a few days to hang out etc, since no one is working currently. I don't find it far-fetched that Hemmy and RDJ would go for that, considering how close they all were/are.

Hemmy bringing his mom is also curious to me - we didn't see his wife, but his mom. Interesting.

As for the vendor/MUA/hairstylist thing; one of them posted the story WITH A GOAT which was cut out when it was shared on here (🙄 for obvious reasons. Certain blogs on here are trolls and legit just looking to rile you up, please stop believing them) and others are coming because I do believe it's going to be a big, big event. I do believe there will be a lot of celebs showing up, like Wimbledon, in order to get some press and attention. They can't promote their works so this is a great way to get their names out there.

I also think it would be odd if the OG's would come now, to the game (if thats the case) when the "wedding" was supposed to happen soon. Why would they go like two weeks before only to go back home and then come back? That's weird. Unless they actually got married already this weekend, in which case the whole MUA/vendors/hairstylist thing makes no sense. It also doesn't make sense they would go so soon or late to the wedding, depending on when you think it would be. Do we honestly think he's throwing a massive 500 people wedding on a week day?? (lets put aside that if thats the case then he's clearly not the person he's put himself up to be because no "grounded down to earth" person would throw a massive wedding spanning over several days like that)

I don't know man. The entire thing is weird.

Not to mention this is all coming right after we found out he in fact DID NOT go on the Bermuda trip and the proof has been out there all along. And yet "sources" came and said they had seen them there. Even if these sources were remotely close to him, how would they not know of the picture posted of him on that private account that went publicly for a VERY short time yesterday (just enough for the fandom to find that post)

It's all fucking weird.

Technically, we haven't seen them within the same vicinity since the Ghosted premiere. They haven't spoken on it or posted anything, either, other than her picture of Dodger which was during the winter.

It's odd all around. I have no idea what to make of it.

But if he does marry her or already did bla bla bla, it says a lot about him. Not just because she's a racist who associates with racists, but also because of how young she looks. It says a lot about him if he's not just attracted to her but chose to marry her.

If they did, I give it 5 years. Tops. Once she's served her breeding bunny purpose it'll fall apart.

Hello, My Lovely Spring Rolls!

To celebrate such milestones in my personal (birthday! woot woot!) and tumblr (500 followers!) life, I will be hosting my first-ever (and hopefully the beginning of more) sleepover for all of us to enjoy!

I've only been actively posting my stories on this site since October 2022 and truthfully, you guys have been such a blast and I cannot thank you enough for the support and love you continuously give.

TMA fic recs

I have been reading a lot of the Magnus Archives fanfiction lately and there is this very specific type of fic I have been enjoying a lot: email conversations, official forms, HR complaints etc. I find looking at the Magnus Institute through that kind of perspective really interesting and fun, because despite everything it is a workplace. There are a lot of people who are trying to do their jobs with varying success.

These types of fics are probably not for everyone. I can see why someone might find emails and documents dry to read or just not vibe with the formatting, but I'm sure there are also people who love these kinds of fics as much as I do.

Beholding the GDPR: How the Magnus Institute Updated Its Privacy Policy for the Twenty-First Century And Only Caused One Nervous Breakdown In The Process

What Is NaNoWriMo?

You’ve likely seen some posts about NaNoWriMo before. It’s nearly impossible to exist in any creative writing ecosystem without seeing people post about it or use it as a tag. This is everything you need to know about NaNoWriMo before the big event arrives this year.

Heads up! NaNoWriMo starts next month. This guide could help you get ready to join in the coming weeks or prepare for next year if you need more time.

What Is NaNoWriMo?

NaNoWriMo is a long acronym for National Novel Writing Month. It’s an event that happens every year in November. People from all over the world open new documents or fresh sheets of paper to write their own 50,000-word novels in 30 days or less.

History of NaNoWriMo

There is a pretty long history behind NaNoWriMo that boils down to these points:

In 1999, Chris Baty–a writer in San Francisco—decided to attempt writing a novel in a month.

He also asked his creative writing friends to join in the attempt.

They started writing on July 1 and six of them reached the word count by July 31.

The next year, the challenge moved to November so everyone could take full advantage of July’s gorgeous weather for vacations and general non-indoor-writing things.

Everyone from 1999’s event invited more friends, so 29 out of 140 reached the word count in year two.

Newspapers covered the fun event, which made it nationally known.

People made a website for NaNoWriMo so more people could participate.

Thousands participated in the annual November event online by following posts on the website.

In 2006, NaNoWriMo became a nonprofit.

Since 2006, NaNoWriMo has grown to include events throughout the year, like the summer program Camp NaNoWriMo.

427,653 writers from around the world participated in 2021.

How NaNoWriMo Works

If you want to see what NaNoWriMo is all about, you’ll have to sign up on the main website. It’s free to sign up so you don’t need to worry about it affecting your budget.

Once you reach your new dashboard, you can set all kinds of goals tailored to your writing routine or hopes, like:

Weekly writing dates

Total words for your story

Word counts per day or week

When you’re ready to start writing, you can use whatever tools you prefer. Physical notebooks, Google Docs, Word docs, and writing software programs are all compatible. Think of your NaNoWriMo dashboard as a separate tool recording your progress while your writing happens on the side.

There are also tons of free resources available year-round on the main website. Check out the resource hub to explore new topics or get the pep talk you need to start your new manuscript.

You can use it to write your first novel or your 50th. It depends on where you are in your creative writing journey.

Benefits of Participating In NaNoWriMo

There are many benefits to participating in NaNoWriMo. Writers enjoy things like:

Finishing a novel

Improving your writing skills

Meeting other writers

Getting feedback on your writing

Having a sense of accomplishment

Tips for Participating In NaNoWriMo

I understand how overwhelming it might feel to think of writing a novel in a month. It’s out of the norm, but that’s the point of NaNoWriMo! You’re supposed to set a writing goal that feels slightly outside of your normal routine. It’s easier to try new resources and writing tricks when you’re in uncharted territory.

Here are a few tips for participating in NaNoWriMo with a little less anxiety than you might feel right now.

Set Realistic Goals

Writing a novel in a month might be literally not possible for you. If your schedule, ideas, or anything else could get in the way of your goal, then it’s likely not realistic.

Set realistic NaNoWriMo goals this year to accomplish your dreams.

You could start by making a SMART goal, which stands for a goal that’s:

Specific (“I will write 500 words this month” instead of “I’ll write this month.”)

Measurable (“To write 500 words this month, I’ll write at least 16 words each day” instead of “I’ll try to write every day.”)

Achievable (“I know I’ll have time for this in my early morning or late evening hours” instead of “I’ll try to find time for my writing.”)

Relevant (“I’ll get to write about a character, theme, or story idea that matters to me” instead of “I’ll write something good.”)

Time-Bound (“I’ll finish writing every day by 10 p.m. at the latest and finish on November 30” instead of “I’ll write for the whole month.”)

Getting specific in these ways makes your writing goals actionable—not just hopeful.

Find a Writing Friend

Search the NaNoWriMo resource page to find writing groups you could join in November. It’ll help to read the forum posts from other participants working through the same challenges you’re facing.

Social media could also be a great place to find NaNoWriMo participants. Look into writing groups specifically for this November’s event. See if there are Discord servers for NaNoWriMo writers or TikToks writers are making about their experiences.

Select a Few Writing Tools

There are free writing resources all over the internet that will help you succeed in your NaNoWriMo goals this year. I’ve got an older list of resources people find helpful, but you can also check out NaNoWriMo’s official resource page.

Take Care of Yourself

You are always more important than your stories. You’re worth the effort it takes to do self-care habits like taking breaks, making quick healthy meals, and getting enough sleep.

Don’t forget to prioritize your physical, mental, and emotional needs this November. Taking breaks during your writing sessions could prevent burnout. Check-in with yourself daily to ask what would help you feel your best and what forms of self-care will boost your writing abilities.

Rewards are another great self-care tool too! What would make you happy? That might look like getting yourself an ice cream cone when you’re done with your first day or going to a movie for getting halfway through your goals. You should finish the self-care activity feeling rested and restored.

Consider Trying NaNoWriMo This Year

Anyone can try NaNoWriMo, no matter how much writing experience you have. Even if your goal is only to write a short story, use this event to practice writing. You’ll have a great time if you set achievable goals, prioritize your self-care, and surround yourself with a supportive creative community.

NaNoWriMo FAQs

Do I Have to Be a Novelist to Participate in NaNoWriMo?

No! The event was created to help the founder finish his first novel. You can join the NaNoWriMo event if you have a novel idea in the back of your mind or even if you just want to write a short story.

On the other hand, novelists are welcomed to join too. You could use the event to tackle your next manuscript or finish the novel you’re working on right now. There are no hard rules about what you can write.

How Much Do I Need to Write for NaNoWriMo?

How much you write for NaNoWriMo is up to you. The average novel is around 50-75,000 words, but that number isn’t realistic for everyone to write in 30 days or less. Set a word count that’s realistic for you given your writing abilities and time.

How Do I Complete NaNoWriMo?

You’ll complete NaNoWriMo by accomplishing the goal or goals you set for yourself on November 1! You’ll be your biggest cheerleader in this event, so make sure you celebrate your accomplishments.

What Happens if I Don’t Finish NaNoWriMo?

If you don’t finish NaNoWriMo, nothing happens. Seriously. It’s an international writing event, but there aren’t penalties for not meeting your writing goals or even falling out halfway through.

Writers set their own goals and keep themselves on track. If you don’t finish, recognize what happened and learn from it. You can always try again next year—or even next month if you want to do it again by yourself!

What Are the Official Rules of NaNoWriMo?

The official rules of NaNoWriMo are easy to follow. They include the following guidelines:

Set an official 50,000 word count goal if you want to participate via the NaNoWriMo free member dashboard.

Set a customized goal through the same dashboard, although it won’t be an official goal.

Follow the Code of Conduct whenever you’re posting in group spaces.

There are general understandings as well, like:

Don’t start working on your manuscript before November 1, including plot outlining and character work.

Don’t continue working on your manuscript after November 30. 11:59 PM on November 30 is the last chance to add to your official word count goal. After that, any writing or editing that happens will be unattached to your NaNoWriMo participation.

Does NaNoWriMo Cost Money?

NaNoWriMo doesn’t cost money! It’s completely free to participate in. However, there are additional things you can spend money on if you’d like to upgrade your experience.

You can invest in writing software or online tools as you see fit. You can also buy merchandise from the organization’s shop, which includes notebooks and a book on writing tips.

Reaching 1,000 episodes for the franchise was insane, and, by the way, I’m pointing out that almost 500 of those are just us,” says NCIS star Sean Murray ahead of that milestone. “I just have to throw that out there because I’m proud of that.”

That episode airs on the mothership on April 15, and Murray has been around for most of the ones to air on NCIS, having recurred in Season 1 and becoming a series regular in Season 2. So he has been there for a lot, including some necessary changes on set.

“It’s unreal. We had a lot of people asking what it was like, and I kept kind of shaking my head because it’s really unfathomable,” he tells TV Insider. “Shows are not supposed to go 21 years. It’s a miracle to get picked up. It’s a miracle to go past one year. It’s a bloody miracle. Sorry, I’m Australian, so I say bloody a lot. It’s a real miracle if you go five years. It’s an insane thing. And for a television show to go 21 years… We have had to rebuild our permanent sets because the partitions and stuff have fallen apart because they’ve been there for so long. And I’m not even joking with you. Murray’s hesitant to share too much about the 1,000th episode itself (we already know Hawai’i‘s Vanessa Lachey and LA‘s Daniela Ruah will appear) but promises that both longtime and newer fans will enjoy it.

“My favorite thing of what we’ve done in the 1,000th episode is we have got little Easter eggs and things hidden all through the episode—and not even just hidden. We call back to a lot of things, but it’s a little hard to describe,” he admits. “It’s a great show for the people that are just tuning in for the first time or new fans. For the people that have been with us for a long time, it’s really something special because you’re going to see, like I said, Easter eggs of things. You’re going to see things that tip-off to old episodes, famous episodes that we did. Little moments. We have characters come back that we haven’t seen in a very long time.”

For example, like it was very much part of the first episode of the series, “Yankee White,” he continues, “Air Force One is very involved in that as are characters from that episode and from our past there. It’s going to be a cool one.” One such character from that episode is Fornell, played by Joe Spano, who we also know is back for the 1,000th episode, thanks to photos Murray shared on Instagram.

While there are those aforementioned characters from other NCIS shows appearing in the 1,000th episode, don’t expect a crossover outside of that, necessarily. (Ruah directed an episode, which Murray loved. “I know that she’d been doing a lot on LA, so it seems like a natural thing for that to happen,” he shares.)

With the shortened season, “we really want to make the most of our 10 episodes as possible, and so we’ve really turned a lot of it inward, and it’s even more character-focused,” explains Murray. “We really want to just buckle down and make it about our team there.”

But he’s not ruling it out for the future. “We like to do crossovers and do that stuff, and it’s a lot of fun. We know when the show continues, if the show continues, that that stuff will happen and everyone plays within the franchise,” he says.

And those crossovers are fun! After all, with the three-show event in January 2023, Murray reunited with LA‘s Chris O’Donnell (G. Callen) and LL COOL J (Sam) after he worked with them in the two-part backdoor pilot, “Legend,” during NCIS Season 6 in 2009.

“I will never forget doing that interrogation scene with Chris and Todd. That was so much fun because I’m the one in there usually grilling everyone, so I was on the other side of the table, and that was a lot of fun, having those guys there,” Murray shares. “I remember when they did the spinoff when we were in year 6. It’s wild. So to see the success that they had and the way that that show went was really cool. As much as it’s inside the franchise and we share names, the shows were very different, too. I know they didn’t want a carbon copy of NCIS, even though they share the name. It was a different kind of show, but being able to have those characters over with us was really fun.”
