It is certain that in everyone’s lives there are times of trials and suffering. When they come, we may wonder how a good God could allow evil things to happen to us or the ones we love. The Christian response to suffering is not to despair but rather to practice a holy resignation to God’s will, apply their sufferings for the redemption of others, be hopeful that God will bring good out of evil, and rejoice in God’s eschatological triumph over evil. If we do these things, we will find the sweet joy of God’s comfort in the midst of pain.

“Portal of the world’s salvation
lo, a Virgin pure and mild,
humble-hearted, high in station,
form of beauty undefiled,
crown of earth’s anticipation,
comes the Mother-maid with child.”

This goddamn season of Dimension 20 is going to kill me I swear
The Bad Kids really are heros, and they continue to prove it at every opportunity. They survived the Last Stand, made it through without dropping, and aced it. By all accounts, they absolutely succeeded in every way.
And yet they still aren't done. Someone still died. Something still threatens them, and the world. THERE IS STILL MORE WORK TO DO.
My heart broke so many times, but it broke especially when the Proctor kept trying to convince them they were safe and that STILL WASNT ENOUGH. They STILL dont feel safe. These poor kids did what no one has ever been able to, and fought tooth and nail to keep what they have been building for years now, and somehow, THERE IS MORE WORK TO BE DONE.
And they still want to save their enemies. They still want to save Buddy. They already saved Rueben, and they tried to save Buddy, and I know they will do all they can to save Lucy as well. They are heros, and by god do I just want them to be able to rest.

The Scroll with Seven Seals
1 And I saw on the right hand of the One sitting upon the throne a scroll, having been written inside and on the back, having been sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll, and to break its seals?”
3 And no one in heaven, nor upon the earth, nor under the earth, was able to open the scroll, nor to see it. 4And I was weeping loudly, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll, nor to see it.
The Lamb is Worthy
5 And one of the elders says to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has overcome to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
6 And I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing as having been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God having been sent out into all the earth. 7 And He came and took it out of the right hand of the One sitting on the throne.
8 And when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls being full of incenses, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they are singing a new song, saying,
“Worthy are You to take the scroll and to open its seals,
because You were slain,
and You purchased to God by Your blood,
out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10 and You have made them a kingdom
and priests to our God;
and they will reigna upon the earth.”
The Lamb Exalted
11 And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, and of the living creatures, and of the elders; and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying in a loud voice:
“Worthy is the Lamb having been slain,
to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and blessing!”
13 And I heard every creature which is in heaven, and upon the earth, and under the earth, and on the sea, and everything in them, saying:
“To the One sitting on the throne,
and to the Lamb,
blessing and honor and glory and might
to the ages of the ages.”
14 And the four living creatures kept saying, “Amen.” And the elders fell down and worshiped.

2023 SEPTEMBER 02 Saturday
"Sing to the LORD a new song, for He has done wondrous deeds;
His right hand has won victory for Him, His holy arm.
Let the sea and what fills it resound, the world and those who dwell in it;
Let the rivers clap their hands, The mountains shout with them for joy before the LORD."

The message of this short narrative, [of Israel’s victory over Amalek,] concerns the power of God to protect His people. The account includes the difficulty, the victory, and the commemoration. The victory must be retained in memory by the commemoration. So the expositional idea could focus on that: The people of God must recognize (both for engaging in warfare and for praise afterward) that victory comes only with the power of God. In the NT, [as well as today,] the issue is even more urgent, because the warfare is spiritual— believers do not wrestle against flesh and blood. So only God’s power will bring victory; [indeed, only God's power can!]

"The Christian life is so much simpler than you think. You don’t have to walk around fighting all kinds of things, or desperately try to conquer God. A Christian begins in the victory. The old has irrevocably died and come to an end. You must rest in the new that you already have been given.
The only thing to take seriously is the new creation within you, the new life which is the life of Christ in you. Everything else is completely uninteresting: it has died, and you don’t have to lose time and energy on it."

STANDING YOUR GROUND IN FAITH
2 Samuel 23:11-12 says, "One time the Philistines gathered at Lehi and attacked the Israelites in a field full of lentils. The Israelite army fled, but Shammah held his ground in the middle of the field and beat back the Philistines. So the Lord brought about a great victory."
There is a mighty valor that rises on the hearts of God's people when they determine to stand their ground despite the coming onslaught before them. You may be going through a difficult time on the job. You may be facing persecution for your faith. You may not have enough money to get to the end of the week and the landlord is threatening to throw you out, but if you stand your ground in faith none of these things will overcome you. You will triumph every time in Christ.
When we get the victory in Jesus, this victory becomes the potential victory for many others. You will continue to persevere so that you will become hardened to the enemy's tactics and alive in the things of God. His great hope will awaken your senses so that you begin to fight like never before.
The truth is:
Your greatest days are before you.
