The Fall
Bateman’s shameless touch on her mound caused her legs to shake a bit, but Andrea managed to pull herself together, just like she was trained in the police academy.
"Mm-mmhm," the detective's low moan echoed off the walls of his fashionable living room. "Jus-st," she managed to say through the gag. "Kill m-me...already."
Closing her eyes, she tilted her head to the side, trying to hide from his piercing gaze and hot breath. The firmness of his palm on her pussy was the last thing she needed to worry about, but the way her body was reacting insisted on doing something. With deliberate but gentle movements, the brunette arched her back like a cat about to slip from his grip.
Patrick knitted his eyebrows in concentration. Why didn't he just kill her like he had originally planned? Even Paul Allen, that smug bastard, hadn't suffered for long...
"Sassy girls just don't understand this luxury. I'm a 'narcissistic liar'?" Patrick suddenly remembered the personal verdict she'd written along her notes, and added with a very soft voice, as if he regretted having to tell her this: "Wrong. I'm a fucking psychopath, darling."
So close to her exposed neck, her scent was overwhelmingly intense, not a perfume he could name, but something that drove him crazy. And disguised as mockery, he couldn't help but kiss her neck.
An electric shock coursed through Andrea's nerves at his unexpected move, the warmth of his lips making her small body tremble, and she could swear to God that she tried to pull away from him, but she was stuck.
"A-awwwww," she squealed, twitching under his massive frame. "S-stop...mmh-stop...mmphp-please!"
‘Yeah, yeah, you think I'm so scared and vulnerable… c'mon, enjoy my weakness…’
The woman tried to close her legs just to provoke him, to make him think she was scared and didn't want him to continue. The moment he lost his attention, she would stun him with the bottle of wine that lay on the coffee table next to the large knife. No, she would not die today. Noticing the detective's attempts to back away, Patrick replaced his hand between her legs with a knee, forcing them apart with more force. Her back was half bent over the short back of the couch, and through the sheer proximity of their bodies, Patrick could feel her small frame trembling beneath him. The gag was pretty much undone by this point, but he didn't care. The sense of power her reaction had given him was dangerous for both of them - he found himself trapped in a tunnel vision of desire and suddenly obsessed with the idea of leaving his mark on her… He bit down on the sensitive flesh of her neck.
Only now did the woman realize that her hands were free, and for a moment she tried to claw at his biceps through the expensive fabric of his jacket, but it only seemed to spur him on as she heard his low growl close to her ear.
Twitching, Andrea managed to spit out the gag. "Leave me alone, you fucking ... you fucking asshole!"
With a loud grunt, the detective began to struggle, trying to kick him off and reach the bottle on the coffee table, his knee between her legs pressed against her mound and it was quite painful, but she didn't care.
"Fucking bitch!" Patrick snapped, and as the detective struggled violently against him, he reached a breaking point. "I'm done with this!"
In one swift movement, he grabbed the woman by her curls and brutally forced her face down on the couch. It was a humiliating position - Patrick pressed against Andrea while her ass was half in the air, the muscular thighs trapping her. With his free hand he reached effortlessly for the knife, his arm much longer than hers. He held the hair out of her face, enjoying the look of fear on her face.
As the woman felt the sharp, cold steel against her throat, her whole life flashed before her eyes, but in the next moment she was in control of her emotions.
"Why did you stop?" Andrea taunted him without any visible anxiety. "Or haven't you decided yet what you want to do with me—fuck me or kill me? Or maybe both?"
The detective spat out her words in his face. She knew that if Patrick would kill her, the police would get his ass, since she had informed her boyfriend before going to dinner with Bateman. But the prospect of being killed didn't seem appealing.
"They're going to get you, Bateman," the woman suddenly hissed through clenched teeth. "They know I had dinner with you... you know what I mean? The police will barbecue your fucking ass even if you kill me!"
Patrick couldn't help but laugh at her words. Not because she was completely wrong (statistically, he should have been found out long ago), but because she had misjudged his nature.
"It doesn't matter. None of it does. I just can't stop."
He stared at her absently, not entirely pleased with the idea that this woman might be his last victim, and yet not feeling the usual panic attack rising within him. If there had ever been a point of no return, this wasn't it.
"...but either way, you are about to pay the price for your insufferable curiosity…” And with a very quick and calculated move, he drew the blade of his knife down Andrea's body.
From the neckline to the hem, Patrick had sliced open her dress precisely, leaving her skin almost completely intact - except for a razor-thin cut on her thigh. He roughly pushed the fabric aside, exposing her body, which was devastatingly tanned all over. No tan lines. Even though Bateman hadn't intended to cut Andrea's skin—not now, he had done so by accident, and now her soft skin was cracked in places, the cuts itch and hurt, but she still didn't dare to be weak and pathetic. With several long cuts, he slashed her clothes, leaving her completely naked from head to toe.
As the man traced her thin trail of pubic hair, the detective couldn't help but bite her lower lip. "Why...why are you acting like you're seeing a woman's body for the first time?" No matter how hard she tried to hide her growing arousal, her voice betrayed her.
"I see your boyfriend didn't pay much attention to you." Patrick tried to sound dismissive at the sight of her pubic hair—both the prostitutes and the hard bodies from the club were always clean shaven.
Still, he found it hard to pull his hands away from her, finding himself embarrassingly curious about what it would feel like to put his mouth on her. Shaking off such crazy thoughts, Patrick instead let his fingers wander lower and spread her lower lips, well aware of how her core trembled under his touch and how she tried not to make a sound.
"Is that why you're so wet for a psychopath?"  And though he said it with his usual arrogance, his voice dropped a little lower.
Andrea couldn't help but arch her back towards him, and she didn't even know if she was doing it to stop him from killing her, or if it was her physical need that confirmed his previous statement about her boyfriend. "Bateman," she gasped as his fingers dove into her heat. "Bateman...mmhm-mmm, fuck me," the woman moaned suddenly, grinding against his body. "I know you want it... I know you crave dominance...so take what you want..." Her seductive whisper was designed to make him lose his mind, which would give her opportunities to play around. "Ruin me…"
Never before had a woman offered herself to Patrick with such blatant desperation, let alone one so aware of his dark nature. And even though the detective was probably hoping to save her life, he could tell that her body wanted him at the same time. His fingers had slipped into her too easily, the wet sound so obscene and the way she urged him to go deeper... Still holding her with one hand, Patrick loosened his tie and tore open his pants, pulling off his suspenders as he did so. He didn't bother to strip completely for the moment; part of him wanted her to admire his toned body, but the other part enjoyed the contrast of her vulnerable nakedness and his formal clothing.
"Oh, you don't even know what you're asking for, little detective," Patrick groaned hoarsely, grabbing her by the hips and pulling Andrea effortlessly onto his lap, where she was now pressed flush against his length. Without even giving her a chance to answer, Patrick kissed Andrea hard on the lips. With a muffled gulp, the detective wrapped her arms around his neck and responded to his kiss with no less passion, tangling her fingers in his soft hair, now so messy and curly.
"Mmhmm...you're so needy, Mr. Bateman," Andrea whispered into his ear after breaking the kiss, leaving a trail of split between their mouths. "I thought I was not your type," the woman nipped at his neck and sucked on the mark. "But your erection says otherwise." Slowly, she began to hump on him, pressing against his hard groin. With every thrust of her hips against his, Andrea moaned loudly, her face flushed and sweaty.
"I could say the same about you - first I get bratty insults, now you hump my lap like a bitch in heat. Where does that come from?" Patrick murmured in a low voice, less threatening but still expressing his arousal.
Unable to suppress the twitch of his cock at her words, he only pressed her closer to his hot flesh, brushing against her entrance. His hands had found their way to Andrea's ass, greedily cupping and massaging the soft skin, a kind of silent and far more honest response. ‘I just feel sorry for this woman who never had a really good fuck.’
Andrea's disheveled hair seemed to have doubled in volume, her tits pressed teasingly against his chest with every movement, and Patrick felt so overwhelmed for a moment; as if he could eat and consume her, but somehow not in the literal sense as he had done with others before.
Gasping, Andrea mentally begged her boyfriend for forgiveness before wrapping her hand around the base of Bateman's fat cock, then pumping the full length. "You're... so pathetic..." she uttered into the crook of his neck before she lowered herself onto his dick and the moment its tip slipped into her heat, the woman screamed in pain. "F-fuck, why are...why are you so fucking big," she stopped halfway, grabbing his shoulder and trying to adjust to his size. "So pathetic...but big…”
Patrick watched Andrea's struggle with undisguised satisfaction, the way she desperately tried to get somewhere, making her insults seem like projection. "You can't wait to have me, and it makes you act like a virgin. You think this will work without preparation?" He took his length and pressed it flush against Andrea's stomach, showing how easily it reached from her entrance past her belly button. "You're either a lot more masochistic than you admit, or you're used to small dicks," Patrick murmured in her ear with barely controlled temper. "Am I right? Your boyfriend is so small that he can do it without lube?"
He let go of her trembling thighs and suddenly pushed Andrea to the floor, forcing her to lie on her back - her soft flesh was so warm to the touch - a startling contrast to the cold wooden floor. 'She had probably never been tied up before. Plush handcuffs at most, I'd say,' Patrick thought with a mixture of contempt and raw excitement. 'I'm going to show her a whole new spectrum of pain and pleasure, and this pathetic little body is so unprepared for it, it might as well have never been fucked before.'
"Well, this is all you get either way for being such an insufferable little cunt." Patrick spat crudely on her pussy and watched in fascination as it clenched around nothing.
As soon as Andrea tried to move away from him, he pinned her hips down with one hand and used the other to roughly spread his salvia all over her. Experimentally, he pumped two of his fingers inside her. It would not help, Patrick knew very well. A final slap on her sensitive mound that made Andrea tremble before Patrick spread her legs apart and drove his cock into her tightness with a sharp trust of his hips. The woman's legs shook from the pain of Bateman's fat girth tearing her apart from the inside out, and the worst part was that this bastard was right - her boyfriend was nothing compared to him, absolutely nothing.
'But... but I love him anyway… I'm just doing this to get back to him alive.' This thought made Andrea whimper and swallow her tears from the physical and mental pain. "Bateman, Bateman..." she hiccupped as his cockhead poked at her cervix. "F-fuck, it's so deep..." she had to close her eyes because she couldn't see Patrick's smug face as he had her sing for him like a siren. "It won't fit!" At some point, the woman was afraid that his dick, with its size, would fucking tear her apart, she could feel her soft inner walls desperately trying to accommodate what he was giving her, even though it was too fucking painful. One raw stroke after another, her body was nothing but a canvas for his wicked paintings and she couldn't do anything but let him have his way with her. 'I'm so sorry.'
Andrea was dying of shame, especially when she felt her orgasm building in her core from the fullness Bateman was giving her, not to mention when this jerk trapped her hard nipple between his expert fingers, twisting it like a radio volume control. "Ahh-hhhhh, you're gonna...you're gonna fucking split me in a half…!" The woman screamed, clawing at her own skin to stifle her cries.
"Look at that, I'm holding back but you already can't take it," Patrick spat out, not angry but grasping for control at the sight of his base still unable to fit inside.
She was so tight - so much tighter than Patrick had expected, tighter than any he had ever had and God yes, he wanted to fuck her apart, even if it would kill them both. He wouldn't have been able to stop with a gun to his head, let alone care about her crying and pleading, which only served to intensify his destructive frenzy. Holding Andrea by the hips, a grip so hard it would leave bruises, Patrick forced her body into his power, pressing her harder against him like a cheap doll. And as if her weight meant nothing, he thrusted her brutally, the friction he gained with every movement washing over him in hot pleasure. The sound of skin against skin echoed off the walls and her increasingly mindless babbling and moaning challenged the soundproofing, but Patrick had never cared less.
"Did you know that Tom Cruise lives in this complex? Tom fucking Cruise can hear you whining like a whore!" He laughed breathlessly at the sight of Andrea writhing underneath him and how little it had taken for her pride to crumble.
But his punishment came only seconds later.
As her orgasm approached, Andrea squeezed him even tighter, something that seemed impossible but almost caused Patrick to lose it on the spot, forcing a raw moan from his throat. But he couldn't have that, couldn't allow himself the humiliation of cumming right in front of her eyes, so he gritted his teeth and cursed and fucked Andrea through her first climax, fucked her until the overstimulation hurt him and it became impossible to delay the inevitable any longer. Patrick had barely enough time to pull out before a violent shudder ran through his body and he exploded all over her, spilling even her face with stray drops of his thick cum. And as Bateman looked down at her, breathing heavily and meeting Andrea's glazed eyes, Patrick knew that it was not nearly enough for him… that he needed her more…

Never in a million years did Demetria ever think she would wind up in this situation.
She stared at the suitcase, rubbing her chest and silently begging her body to give her a break tonight. She cursed herself for not locking Bruce out of his own room and instead choosing one of the guest rooms.
A million different scenarios played in her head. All contained the same concerns, Bruce, her mom and brother’s safety, and her own safety.
He should’ve ran after her and promised her everything was ok even though she knew it wouldn’t be. But he didn’t. He left her and her overwhelmed state to fend for themselves.
“Care for some company?”
Demetria turned her head to see Rachel poking her head in, a sympathetic smile on her face. She nodded her head as the brunette closed the door behind her.
“What’s on your mind?” she asked.
Demetria snorted. “That’s a loaded question.”
“I’ve got all night.” She eyed the suitcase. “I don’t know your timeline though.”
“A moment of weakness. No matter how many times I try, I can’t seem to go through with it.” She glanced up at Rachel. “You’re the sane one in this situation. What should I do?”
Rachel cracked a tiny smile. “What do you want to do?”
“I want him to realize he’s not doing anyone any favors by revealing himself, but you and I both know he’s not going to listen either one of us.”
“He’s stubborn that way.”
Demetria eyed her engagement ring, twisting it. “Makes me question a lot of things.”
“Such as?”
Tears began to pool in Demetria’s eyes as she realized what it was she was about to say. It was the question that plagued her mind throughout their relationship and into their engagement, but had continuously pushed back as far as she could.
“Why ask me to marry him?” she finally said.
Rachel folded her arms across her chest. “There’s something you need to know. Long before you came, Bruce wanted him and I to be together.”
Demetria couldn’t move. A calm confession had managed to knock the absolute shit out of her.
“I told him I couldn’t because of Batman, but that when the city no longer needed him that maybe we could,” Rachel continued.
Demetria blinked and somewhere in the silence that fell between the two women, realized it was her turn to say something and that Rachel had been waiting on baited breath for some sort of reaction.
So, she started with a deep breath. “Wow, ok. This…explains a lot.” She glanced up. “I’m not mad. Not that I would have any right to be. I just…I’m processing a lot of information right now and I...”
Maybe this why Bruce went after her. She was Harvey’s best friend and he must’ve assumed something romantic was going on. Maybe that was why he went to lengths to keep their relationship quiet. Maybe he wanted to show-
“Its been over since he met you,” Rachel said. “After that lunch, he asked me about you. I told him you were off limits. I said that if he messed with you, Harvey would ruin him. That’s how he figured out you were at Harvey’s fundraiser. He came for you.”
She ran her hand through her hair. “How do I not know he wasn’t with me to try to-.”
“I told him I was in love with Harvey and that nothing was gonna change my mind and that if that was a problem, he needed to deal with it alone without hurting you.” She paused, smiling a bit. “Then he said he was outside your apartment, making sure you were ok. I realized he took time out of his Batman patrol to check in on you. He also said that if I ever hurt you he’d let me kill him myself.”
A tiny smile played out on Demetria’s lips. “Time to make good on your promise then,” she said, motioning to the door.
“He loves you so much that losing you scares him an when he’s scared, he pushes away,” Rachel assured. “He knows you can do better. But I know you’re exactly what he needs.”
Demetria opened her mouth when Rachel cut her off again. “If he goes through with it, I will take care of you and your family’s protection. I know a lot of people who owe me favors. Just promise me you won’t leave him. You’re his one hope for a normal life.”
Demetria shut her eyes, letting the tears fall. “Ok.”
Rachel put a gentle hand on Demetria’s forearm. “Go to him, ok?”
She went to leave when Demetria said, “Rachel?”
The brunette turned to see Demetria smiling at her. “Thank you.” She wrapped her arms around her. “If Harvey hurts you, just know I’ll murder him.”
Rachel laughed. “I’ll hold to you it.”
======================================================
After wiping her tears, Demetria made her way to their bedroom where Bruce stood, looking out the window.
The sound of the door closing behind her grabbed his attention. He turned to her, their eyes meeting for a moment before she made her way to her nightstand.
Her throat started locking in when she grabbed her medicine and opened the cap. She popped the pill in her mouth and made her way to the bathroom, filling up a crystal glass with water from the sink and then taking a large sip.
Setting the glass back down, she closed the bathroom door and went back to her nightstand where she pulled out her notebook and a pen.
“Ok, I need you to tell me what areas need to be cleared out in this apartment so Alfred and I can take care of it,” she said.
Bruce just stared at her. Demetria exhaled softly. “Babe, we have so many goddamn rooms and only so little time so please, for once tonight, help me out here.”
“What’re you doing?” he asked.
“What does it look like I’m doing?” She looked down at the notebook. “Ok, so guest room four is clear. I know that after-.”
Bruce then took the notebook and pen from her, throwing it off to the side. He gently grabbed her forearms. “I need you to leave in the morning.”
“Bruce-.”
“I don’t want you here while this goes down.”
She tilted her head, glaring at him. “So now I’m being considered?”
His face softened. “What?”
“Why didn’t you consider me in this decision?”
“I told you I did.”
“Don’t lie to me. Why didn’t you consider me in this decision?”
“Demetria…”
“You considered what you were gonna do with me. What you didn’t consider is how this would impact me.”
“Rachel knows people who are gonna protect you.”
“Lawyers can protect in a court. What about outside of that?”
She took another step. “What about my mom and my brother? You don’t think people are gonna come after them?”
The silence was deafening.
“There are a lot of people who want to kill you for what you’ve done,” she went on. “A handful of those people think that killing you won’t be enough and that’s when they’ll come after everyone associated with you.”
“You don’t think I didn’t think about that?” Bruce retorted. “You don’t think that haunts me?”
“I don’t because you won’t talk to me!” she told him. “You just keep pushing me away.”
She wiped the tears away. “You want to make this easy on me? Tell me you don’t love me. Say it and I’ll go. I’ll leave and when I’m asked why, I’ll tell them you said it.”
Bruce’s blank expression made her wonder if he was contemplating. She pulled her lips back, nodding her head. “Go ahead. Say it. Say it.”
Bruce took a step forward to her. She didn’t move. “Say it, Bruce.”
He held her face in his hands as she closed her eyes, mentally preparing herself to lose him, her whole heart. The world, the future she had romanticized because of him, ready to leave in flash.
“I love you, Demetria.”

Because I felt like it, I made a MiA OC
His name is Bale and is inspired by Christian Bale in his appearance from The Machinist (2011)
LORE: A long time ago, Bale was on an expedition with an explorer’s group, They were making their way to the 6th layer of the abyss, when they were attacked by giant creatures. Both he and another raider ran away when the floor beneath them gave way and they both fell down a ditch. At this point, they were both at the same level with the 6th layer. At this point, no one knew what the effects of the curse were, so the raider suggested to Bale to climb up and get help. He handed Bale his climbing gear and Bale readied himself as he climbed up the wall. Upon reaching the top and climbing over, he scrunched over, as he felt a pain in his temple. His mouth then started to ache as something was stretching. Then blood started pouring from his mouth, and his hair started to fall out. Then his flesh followed afterwards. The pain was agonizing as his body transforms to a new form. As it came to an end, he was no longer human. He was cursed, but he wasn't dead. His head shifted to that of a rat skull, Hair grew in his back, he had a tail, and his nails were sharpened to slaughter prey. His humanity was gone, literally, but the inner savagery remains. In his monstrous form, he went back to look down in the ditch, where his fellow mate remains. He walks away, leaving his fellow cave raider to die. Nowadays, reports of a sickly beast have been reported between the 5th and 4th layer, and severe cases of attacks and mauling. Most report back a sickly rat-looking creature. Most are advices to watch their backs and to stick close in groups, or else they would end up in pieces.

Drowning In Love
Summary; Bale!Bruce Wayne/Batmanx Fe!OC (Althea) ~ They had known each other for a while and nothing has seemed to have happened...yet.
Tumblr media
Yet another night had passed and Bruce was in pain.
No matter how much he would deny it. From the cuts on his arms, to the graze on his face and the bruises on his ribs. He was, it was safe to say, in a lot of pain.
And Althea knew.
She'd known him since she was 23 and had come to visit Alfred before she went back to medical school.
Even then she was beautiful and extrodinary to him.
She was also the first person - outside of Alfred, and technically Lucius - to know who he was. And he never even told her.
It had been 9 in the morning and all he wanted to do was sleep but with the gash on his arm from a machete the night before, it was stopping him from drifting off.
Alfred had fixed it as best as he could but then Althea turned up.
She walked through the front door and into the library where she found Bruce sat behind a desk. His arms were covered, no-one could see the harm done.
But she could.
Althea had been talking, already speaking to Alfred and Bruce when she stopped dead in her tracks and after five very long seconds, she spoke.
"Oh, my god." Althea was in complete shock. "You're an idiot. Please tell me you tried to talk him out of it." She looked to Alfred accusingly.
She looked back to Bruce then dramatically rolled her eyes before turning on her heels and leaving through the door as she shouted; "I'll be back! Don't you dare move!"
Bruce looked to Alfred, who even looked scared. "How the hell did she-"
Alfred shook his head and collected the tray. "I don't know. Although, I think her brain might be a little wasted in the medical field. Then again, she is the best doctor I have ever met."
"Don't try and butter me up, Mr Pennyworth. I'm mad at you, too." Althea was back and dropped her medical bag beside Bruce's chair and kneeled beside it.
"Take off your shirt."
"Buy me dinner first?" Bruce tried to joke.
Althea looked up - she was pissed.
"Okay, I don't like you looking at me like that while you're holding a needle."
"Be glad it's not a knife."
Bruce looked to Alfred but he was already quickly leaving. He knew when to avoid Althea and this was when.
"Coward." Bruce whispered under his breath as he began to remove his shirt.
Althea didn't look to Bruce, but she did hear him. "Don't worry, I'll get him later. He isn't getting away with this. And neither are you. What the hell are you thinking?!"
Althea's hands moved like they were on auto-pilot. She was cleaning the wound, removing the old stitches, cleaning it again, stitching it again - and much more neatly - and finally dressing the wound.
Bruce tried his best to explain his case to her but was struggling.
"No, you know what, don't tell me. I don't want to know." Althea said. "Actually, do. Tell me why you are risking your bloody life every night being dressed in costume."
"It's not a costume. It's a suit."
She looked into his eyes and he had to draw back a little. If she had been a detective, even the most ruthless criminals would have confessed through just one look of Althea's.
"It's a costume." Athea repeated. "You're risking your life. Every night, Bruce. Have you even thought about what would happen if something goes wrong? If you get hurt more than you're capable of handling?"
"I'll be fine."
"Bruce-"
Bruce leaned in a little closer as she finished wrapping the bandage. "Ali, I'm okay. I'll be fine."
She rested herself back on her heels and looked to him. He could see the fear in her eyes, for him.
"I promise."
Althea eventually nodded and packed up her things. "Okay," then she slapped his hand away from the bandage.
"Don't."
"What?" Bruce asked a little offended.
"Don't itch it. It's healing."
"Fine."
That was over a year ago now.
And, yet, it felt like it was yesterday.
Sitting on the edge of his sofa, Althea sat across from him on the coffee table.
Bruce still hadn't changed out of his blood-splashed black t-shirt and trousers, but Althea had bandaged his forearm and put his other cuts back together and was now cleaning the graze wounds above his left brow.
The room was soaked in darkness but from the city lights, the moon, and the one lamp beside the sofa, they could see one another.
"I really wish you'd stop doing this to yourself." Althea spoke.
With them being so close, they spoke in what felt like whispers. It was their secret, being inside the penthouse.
"Gotham needs Batman-"
"Gotham needs Batman, but I still need you, Bruce." Althea softly brushed the cotton wool across the graze, focusing on the redness but then back to his eyes.
The stokes became softer until she finally placed the cotton down. "That should do. You need to sleep. I'll give you some asprin in the morning."
"Thank you," Bruce said, finally catching her hands in his to make her look at him. "For everything."
Althea looked between his eyes and then down to their hands. Bruce's fingers were running softly over her knuckles. "You don't have to thank me, Bruce."
"Yes, I do." Althea finally looked him in the eyes. "You always help fix me, even when I don't know that I need it."
"You know you need it, you just think you can deal with it."
Bruce smiled. "Either way, you're always there for me."
"What kind of friend would I be if I wasn't?"
"Are we just that? Friends?"
There was a long silence and for a moment, it felt awkward. The unspoken thing was out in the open, but then it became...natural.
Althea didn't really know why, but she removed her hand from Bruce's and carefully and slightly hesitantly, she placed it beside his cheek before drawing him in for a kiss.
Bruce was a little surprised, to say the least.
They had known each other for so long and, of course, feelings had always been there but they'd never been acted on.
The kiss was soft and new but...familiar. It was as if they'd kissed a thousand times before, but each time had been their first.
As Bruce kissed back, his hand landed softly to grip her thigh. It was real. He wasn't dreaming...again.
The kiss slowly settled and with their foreheads touching, Althea could feel her lips still burning. But she couldn't. Not tonight.
"Get some rest," she told him. "I'll see you in the morning."
Althea slowly stood up, still feeling Bruce's hand in hers slowly loosening it's grip.
She packed up her things and looked back before she turned the lamp off.
"Night, Bruce."
Bruce watched her leave before he laid down on the sofa and it wasn't long until he finally drifted off with the feeling of Althea's lips still on his.
The next morning, Bruce woke to find Althea walking around the living room of his penthouse, flicking through medical files.
"You're awake." Althea stood and picked up a powdered tablet and a glass of water before mixing them together. "This should help with the headache."
She sat down on the coffee table as he sat up - just like the night before.
"How are you feeling?"
"Like I got hit by a truck," his voice was rough both in sound and against his throat.
"So, typical Tuesday then?"
Bruce gave a soft smile as he saw hers, watching him as he drank from the glass again.
"The news is reporting that Batman has saved yet another dozen people and many more by stopping more criminals. The crime stats have gone down 2% in the last five days." Althea explained. "Also, I've updated your medical form - I know it's only Alfred and I who see it but still. And-"
"Althea,"
"It seems you're also due a medical check-up so I've booked you in for next week-"
"Thea." Bruce took the medical case file from her and placed it beside him. But she still continued.
"And don't think that you're skipping it. I'll drag you there myself if you don't-"
"Althea!" Bruce finally managed to capture her attention, but it was only for a few moments.
"Your vitals seem fine but I've taken the day off to monitor you in case something goes wrong-"
Trust the medical professional to already have his entire medical history memorised.
"Ali, please." Bruce took her by the hand. He could tell, even from just her voice that she was scared for him.
It was only Bruce that really knew the difference between her voices, how tiny the differences were and which pitch or way of wording meant what.
"I'm okay."
Even though he didn't know for sure, he knew. Bruce knew that she had been monitoring his heart-rate all night.
"You fixed me yourself, Ali." Bruce reassured her. "I'm okay. I'm healing. I promise you, I'm okay. I'm here. We both are."
Althea closed her eyes and lowered her head feeling Bruce's fingers intertwine with hers. "I know you won't give this up yet, but please...please be careful."
"I always am." Bruce smiled in a soft whisper.
"Am I interupting something?" Alfred asked as he entered.
Shocked and surprised, Althea quickly stood up and calmed herself. "He'll live."
"Ah," Alfred smiled. "Good. But, just in case, I've called Mr Fox and you are required to stay home."
"Doctor's orders." Althea added.
"Not that you go in, anyway."
"I heard that." Bruce replied.
By the time Alfred finished up, Bruce pulled him aside giving him the day off.
"I suspect Miss Chambers will be keeping a watchful eye on you, already." Alfred agreed.
"Yes, I suspect she will."
Alfred smiled, patted Bruce's shoulder and made his leave.
The rest of the day was spent with just himself and Althea, on the sofa, watching movies.
"You didn't sleep, did you?" Bruce asked after an hour of watching her slowly slip in and out of conciousness.
"Yes, I did."
Bruce just smiled a little before pulling her over towards him.
Slowly, she laid her head down on his lap. This wasn't unusual for them - sometimes it would be the other way around. Althea spent that much time on long shift with no sleep that she could fall asleep instantly and with Bruce living his double-life, it meant he mostly slept in the day.
However, this time Althea could feel herself drifting but it wasn't until she took Bruce's hand in her own and placed two fingers against his wrists that she finally fell asleep - or near it at least.
Hours passed and neither of them moved, just letting a random movie play on the TV until finally it was reaching night-time.
They had eaten a few hours ago but sleep way already taking them both over.
Softly, Bruce brushed a hand through her hair and she began to stir.
"Are you watching me sleep?"
Bruce could smile and keep his eyes on her since her own remained shut.
"No,"
"Liar." Althea groaned as she slowly lifted herself up.
Bruce chuckled and lifted himself from the sofa himself.
"I better go home," Althea said as she checked her watch.
"Or you could stay?"
"I'll get a bad back."
Bruce gave a slight chuckle, "The bed is big enough, Ali."
Any other day, she would have decline or decided to go home but with the night already being in and the hospital being closer to Bruce's penthouse than her own home, she said yes.
Thankfully, Alfred had found her some of her own pajamas - one's she had left there the last time she had slept over - and some toiletries
There had been a leak in her apartment so Bruce offered her to stay with him - he said she could stay forever if she wanted to - but she only stayed until it was fixed.
It wasn't long until they had both brushed their teeth and climbed into bed. And, just like before, Bruce felt her fingers wrap around his wrist.
She was checking for his pulse.
"Thea?"
"Hhm?"
"I'm still here."
"Hm-mh."
"And I'm not going anywhere."
After that, Bruce pulled her closer to his chest.
Maybe, finally, they were passed being 'just friends'.
As the night turned to the morning and Alfred arrived at Bruce's room, he found him already stood getting dressed, fixing the cuffs of his shirt whilst Althea still slept in his bed. She hadn't moved at all during the night. Neither of them had.
"Let her sleep," Bruce told him.
"I take it I might be seeing a bit more of Thea?" Alfred lay the tray down.
Bruce smiled, fixing his other cuff. "It was late and I asked her to stay."
"Ah," Alfred replied as he stood back up. That was when he saw that all too familiar look on Bruce's face as he looked over to the bed.
Alfred had known Bruce's feelings towards Althea since the first time he saw them meet.
It had been in the hallways of Wayne Manor. Alfred had gone to fetch his own coat, leaving Althea in the hallway.
Bruce had been coming down the stairs when he spotted her, dressed in a summer dress with her hair (then) by her shoulders and her sunglasses and hat in her hands as she looked up to the old oil paintings on the walls.
He fell in love with her there and then.
She was beautiful.
And when he tried to run away from his meeting by going to the back exist of Wayne Tower and she was already there, leaning against the brick of the wall; he only fell further.
And now, even Alfred could see he was drowing in his feelings towards Althea.
"I suggest you tell her the truth until your heart gives it away for you."
"One day, Alfred." Bruce replied. "One day."

Copybat Ch. 1
Bale!Bruce Wayne x Trans!OC
(Victoria October is a canon trans woman in the Batman comics, although I know nothing about her. My oc only shares a name and the fact she's trans) Disclaimer: I've only seen the Dark Knight Trilogy and the plot is solely based off of that and my own ideas. I hope y'all like how I captured Bruce Wayne. This is set in the time of "The Dark Knight"
Tumblr media
Ever since reports of the Batman, the controversy, and the good he’s done for Gotham, Victoria has been full on obsessed. She’s not just any fan of his either. She’s studied his actions, methods, and ideals. Victoria understands the character of the Batman under the mask.
There are times when the real Batman isn’t there, though, and people need him. Sure, there have been Batman copycats, but she’s going to rise above them. Victoria will be the second Batman that Gotham needs.
For days on end, she would lock herself in her home office, building her suit, 3D printing her cowl, crafting her weapons, and choosing how to present herself. Victoria doesn’t have the body of the Batman, but she can make herself look and sound masculine enough to appear as a male. Days turn into weeks until she’s finally completed the armour and costume.
Other than crafting, she’s been on autopilot, doing the bare minimum to take care of herself. She was completely focused on this project.
It was the first day back to her normal life and Victoria decided to start off strong. Before heading to work, she had worked out and she was on her way to a coffee shop. A larger man bumps into her, slamming her into a wall.
“Hey! Watch it you asshole!!” She almost screams at him, not noticing his size. Victoria’s eyes widen, noticing how much taller than her he is. She’s by no means short, but this man was almost twice her height.
“The fuck didja just call me?” He asks, punching her in the face, sending her harder into the wall and pulling her by her shirt collar. She’s frozen in fear, trying to get someone’s attention. A few people give her sympathetic looks, but no one does anything to help.
“Nothing, I’m sorry,” She squeaks. The thug stares her down for a quick second.
“Got any money on you?” Victoria nods, pulling her wallet out of her blazer pocket. She fumbles through the cash she has.
“How much?” She barely whispers.
“Just gimme the wallet and I’ll forget this happened.” He snatches the wallet from her hand, throws her back, hard, causing her to black out for a minute. When she comes to, her mind is racing a million miles a minute, unable to focus on or hear anything. She had been so confident about her fighting skills before, so why couldn’t she fight back now?
After what seemed like hours, she heard a voice trying to get her attention.
“Are you okay?” He asks. She comes back to reality when she clearly hears a snap of two fingers. In front of her, a familiar concerned man who she couldn’t quite place in her current mental state. The two are in an alley and he’s holding her up as if he were a crutch.
“Yeah…um,” She holds her head with one hand. “I think.”
“I called an ambulance, it should be on its way.”
“No, no,” Victoria shakes her head, moving to stand up straight. Getting slammed into the wall left a nasty bruise on her shoulders and she sucks her teeth when she feels the pain. “You didn’t have to.”
“You have a concussion and need treatment.”
“I don’t have a concussion,” She insists, shaking her head. “I’m fine…”
“I need you to follow my finger with your eyes. Can you do that?” He asks, ignoring her denial. Victoria nods. “Tell me if you get a headache while doing so.” He moves his hand back and forth, and she follows it for a few seconds. Her head starts to hurt a lot, and it shows on her face. “Alright, I’ll stop. Do you remember your name?”
“Of course I remember my name,” She chuckles slightly. “It’s um…” She thinks for a minute. “Victoria… I think.”
“Alright, Victoria… Do you at least have someone you can call?”
“My boss is gonna kill me…” She groans, hardly in the right state of mind. “I need to let him know… that I won’t be in today…”
“Victoria, look at me,” He gently commands. She does so, only now realising who’s helping her.
“You’re… Bruce Wayne…” She points at him.
“That’s right,” He nods. “And I’m taking you to the hospital where you’ll get treatment for your concussion. I need you to stay awake.” Victoria is hardly listening, trying her best to stay conscious.
“You know my boss,” Her thoughts are few and far between.
“Who’s your boss? I need you to stay awake.” He asks, trying to keep her conscious, genuinely worried about her health. She gives him a blank stare for a minute.
“Lucius…Fox….I think.” Victoria’s words are slurred.
“Alright. I’ll talk to him. The paramedics are here. They’re going to help you.” Her world is going dark as she hears the faint sound of an ambulance siren in her ears. until she blacks out again.

THE DARK KNIGHT FANFIC: Joker x OC (Part 7)
Tumblr media
Lottie stood outside Wayne Tower, clutching her purse and anticipating the arrival of Rachel Dawes. A taxi cab pulled up, and the passenger door opened. A tall brunette in a tailored grey suit stepped out, smiling at Lottie. Lottie mirrored her smile, giving Rachel Dawes a hug, and sliding back into the car with her.
"So glad to meet you again!" Rachel said, her eyes shining. Lottie could see why Bruce was so attracted to her.
"Yeah! This is cool!" Lottie replied. "I've heard so much about you from Bruce."
Rachel nodded, looking away and changing the subject. "So, we haven't talked in a while. What's been going on with you? Anything fun happening at Gotham University? Any boyfriends... girlfriends...?"
"A little of both." Lottie replied, trying not to appear anxious. "Actually, the girl we're picking up downtown is my girlfriend. Her name is Maya."
"Oh? And does she get along with your boyfriend? I've heard those types of relationships are complicated to manage. You must be a busy girl!" Rachel said playfully.
Lottie laughed, nervous. "They've never met. But yeah, it is complicated."
"And they're both students from Gotham University?" You know, that's a very prestigious school. I used to go there." Miss Dawes added.
Lottie glanced out the window, watching as they passed the Gotham Empire News building. She looked back at Rachel. "I feel like you've been asking me a lot of questions. I'd love to hear a little about you!" Lottie said sweetly. 'Nosy bitch,' She thought.
Rachel studied Lottie's face for a second, then sighed. "I guess that's only fair. I admit, I was asking all those questions because a friend of mine, Lieutenant Gordon, explained to me the strange circumstances of your parents abduction. This city is full of untrustworthy people. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here. I'm sure Bruce feels the same."
Lottie felt her heart sink. "Lieutenant Gordon thinks I'm a suspect, doesn't he?"
"Well," Rachel said, placing her hand on Lottie's shoulder, "not exactly. He thinks maybe you got involved unknowingly with the wrong people. Your name was written in fire on the Lau Industries building."
Lottie felt her stomach turn to lead. She had to think fast or she'd appear suspicious. Lottie summoned tears and put on an act of crying from being overwhelmed. "I just don't feel safe, you know? I'm j-just so scared!"
Rachel squeezed her hand, completely buying the petite girl's performance. "I'm so sorry. I really didn't mean to upset you."
"I hate to interrupt, but we're here." The cab driver said, stopping the car in front of Maya's apartment building.
Maya ran up to the car, and opened the door and cramming into the only empty seat next to Lottie. "Oh my god, Lottie, you're crying? Who made you cry." She said, turning angrily to the cab driver. "Was it you?"
"No!" Lottie interjected quickly. "No, I'm just... extremely sensitive these days. It's nobody's fault."
Maya relaxed a bit. "Oh, ok. Well, hopefully this shopping trip will be enough to cheer you up!"
The girls arrived shortly after at one of Gotham's fanciest streets, 3rd Avenue, known for its exquisite selection of clothing stores (everything from Miu Miu to Chanel). Rachel informed Lottie while they were shopping that tomorrow night Bruce was hosting a formal fundraiser at the penthouse for Harvey Dent, and that they'd both need to find something nice to wear. Lottie browsed rack after rack of dresses, looking for anything stylish and low cut. Her goal was to bring shame and dishonor on her recently deceased parent's reputation in front of the high society of Gotham. Finally, she settled on the most expensive and revealing dark red dress she could find.
Maya laughed when she saw what Lottie had decided to wear. "You really want to make an impression, don't you?" She couldn't stop giggling. "I only wish I could come as your date. I'd love to see the shocked faces of the other guests!"
Lottie smirked. She leaned in close to Maya so Rachel couldn't hear. "You can always hack the camera and security system if you really want to witness the spectacle. I know you're good at that sort of thing..."
Maya grinned, obviously a fan of that idea. Rachel came out of the dressing room, showing the girls the dress she had picked for the party. Lottie showered her with compliments, and used the black card Bruce had given her to pay for their dresses. After shopping at many more stores, Rachel hailed a cab and they rode back to Maya's house, dropping her off, and then to Wayne Tower, saying their goodbyes. Lottie rushed to the elevator. Shopping had taken all day and it was late evening. If she wanted to get downtown for her shift at the Thrills strip club, she'd have to change quickly, especially if she didn't want to get caught.

Pierce & Pierce
The first impression I got when I stepped into the glass box called P&P office was the unprecedented atmosphere of wealth and elitism I'd never experienced before. It only confirmed Donald Kimball's statements about Wall Street and its special aura that consumes you from the moment you enter the space where arrogant yuppies rush past you without paying attention, even if they push you painfully on your shoulder.
Today, I had to interrogate one of the vice presidents of Pierce & Pierce, his name was Patrick Bateman and Detective Kimball - my boss - had a very strange opinion about this guy and he made me aware to be careful and attentive to the things he would say. And I didn't know why my heart was beating so fast when it was such a common thing for me to interrogate someone, but once I got to the right floor and went into Bateman's office I saw a beautiful blonde woman who was supposed to be his assistant. Her name was Jean and she asked me to wait a bit before she sneaked into Patrick's office to ask him if he was not super busy.
One minute, two minutes...
I was getting more and more nervous the longer I waited, but luckily for me, Jean appeared almost as I was about to start digging my nails into my skin; she politely asked me to come in.
With deliberate movements, I entered the fashionable office to see a handsome man sitting at the wooden desk, his brown hair with a golden hue slicked back, and the moment he raised his eyes to me, I felt a tight knot form in my stomach.
"This is Detective Andrea Moore," Jean introduced me with a friendly smile. "Can I get you some coffee?" She asked immediately, but her question wasn't addressed to me as I noticed her devoted gaze on the brown-haired man who still hadn't said a word.
For Patrick Bateman, there was little to distinguish one workday from the other. Everything went in pleasantly bland and repetitive cycles: arriving at the office (impeccably styled from head to toe like any self-respecting yuppie, but still a little sleeker than everyone else, he reassured himself), the new release by whatever popular band was blaring in his headphones. With world economic news on the TV and a crossword puzzle to complete, he told Jean to cancel unnecessary meetings every morning.
But not today.
There was a moment of irritation when Jean declared that there was an unexpected visitor waiting outside his office. A detective, she said, but this time it wasn't Kimball, and this additional information was what really started to bother Patrick.
He had to make an effort to manipulate Kimball, sure that the man would finally believe in his integrity and drop the 'Paul Allen' case.‘Maybe I need to get my lawyer involved, maybe money needs to be paid to solve this.' The door opened again, this time Jean led the detective in, and in an instant a wave of relief washed over Patrick. He dismissed Jean with a smile that was almost natural to him by now. He let her go and then turned his eyes back to the woman in front of him. ‘A female detective... If they exchanged Kimball with her, for whatever reason, my situation can't be that bad.’ Patrick let his eyes glide over her body, his confidence returning with every second. Aside from her sex, this person truly presented a different image than Kimball. Illuminated by the morning sun, her suit shimmered in a way that only cheap polyester could. ‘What a feeble attempt to demand respect,’ Patrick thinks with mild disgust. Despite its loose cut, the suit did little to hide her voluptuous figure. 'Nice tits. Could be an hourglass figure if it weren't for the fat around her waist.'
Disinterested, he focused again on her face, framed by brown and unruly curls - another flaw in his book. "To what do I owe the pleasure, Miss ...?" Patrick asked in a tone of false pleasantness, but with a face that didn't betray much happiness. He didn't remember her name very well either, even though Jean had said it just a few seconds ago.
"Miss Moore," she replied briefly, taking a seat across from his desk. At first the woman reached out to shake his hand, but then she pulled back. "Detective Donald Kimball has decided to let me continue his investigation into Paul Allen's disappearance," Andrea paused to retrieve the notebook and pen from her bag. "We have another missing persons case."
Though her voice sounded confident and stern, there was a turmoil of emotions raging within her, but the woman managed to regain her composure. God, why was reality so cruel to her? When Kimball had given her this case, he had never mentioned what Bateman looked like, and that had made Andrea think that Patrick was a typical middle-aged banker, but she had been so fucking wrong that now she felt embarrassed and nervous, and her hands were shaking slightly.
"According to my information, you were seeing a woman named Bethany not too long ago," the detective looked at Patrick while he made some notes. "You were studying at Harvard together. Is that correct?"
‘She has an exotic look to her, despite the last name. A "first generation raised outside East Harlem" kind of vibe, ' Patrick thought dismissively.  ‘Girls like her have a lot to prove, and they always bring that insecurity into the conversation. They cover it up by acting all masculine and bossy.’
It wasn't lost on him how her fingers trembled as she reached for the notebook, and that was the only reason the mention of Bethany's name didn't worry him for the moment. Perhaps Paul was having an affair with her? New York's elite is a small world.
Right now, this interview was nothing more than an inconvenience for him. "That's true. But really, our relationship ended after graduation. I also can't help but wonder how any of this relates to Paul Allen. At least that was the topic of conversation with Detective Kimball."
'What a smug son of a bitch.' The detective didn't flinch, her face devoid of emotion despite the storm brewing inside. "You see, sometimes we work with the police to help find missing persons," she explained, unbuttoning her jacket to reveal a simple blue blouse underneath. "A few weeks ago it was reported that a woman named Bethany Simmons had disappeared under strange circumstances, but before that she had dined with you. Her hairdresser confirmed it."
A sudden power shift in the conversation made Andrea feel a little more confident as she detected a slight tension in the way Bateman frowned.
"What happened after dinner, Mr. Bateman?" The woman asked insistently, pen in hand, ready to catch every word the man was about to give her. "Maybe you can tell us where Bethany is now?"
Patrick couldn't help but feel his body stiffen at Detective Moore's words before he forced himself to lean back in his chair - just keeping up the pretense of casualness.
"We met for a late dinner, nothing more. After that we parted ways, I would have assumed she went home. But this is really disturbing to hear."
Mimicking a sad expression, Patrick studied the woman across from him intensely. Maybe he needed to be careful. Kimball had a different attitude, one that Patrick already began to miss because of its familiarity.
‘Why so aggressive with this lack of hard evidence? A hairdresser... Believe a hairdresser over the testimony of a vice president of a leading Wall Street firm! I bet she just hates men.’
And yet his eyes lingered on her now exposed blouse.
The detective was about to check the time, but when she noticed the gold Rolex on Bateman's wrist, she somehow changed her mind, not wanting to reveal her cheap watch.
"Okay," she smiled suddenly and put her notebook on her lap. "May I ask about your relationship with Bethany? Maybe she shared some concerns with you during that dinner? Did she think she was in danger? Maybe someone was threatening her?" Andrea asked with undisguised interest in the case she was investigating. "I know that Mr. Kimball had a conversation with Bethany's fiancé..."
The sudden pause hung in the air like a suffocating rope around Patrick's neck.
'He's lying, I can feel it.' The woman grinned wider and made some notes. "I really hope you'll give me some information so I don't have to deal with your lawyer. People in your circle always like to do that." Andrea fixed her curly locks that tried to block her vision. "But I understand how busy you are."
Hidden under the desk from the detective's watchful eyes, Patrick's fingers began to dig into his thigh. Oh, how he wished it was her neck instead.
How much information could Bethany's fiancé really have? No, this seemed more like a strategy to make him panic, and yet it was starting to work in a way.
"Oh, I don't see any need to get a lawyer involved. These questions are only reasonable," Patrick fought to maintain the image of an innocent man and gave the most sympathetic smile his tense muscles could muster. "She didn't mention anything specific, but you know. She had a tendency to meet up casually with different men, so who knows where she went after our dinner. I'm not sure how informed her boyfriend is about that either. As for me and her - we were just catching up for old times' sake.”
At this point, Patrick started to seriously think about what had happened to Bethany's body.
Andrea did her best to catch up with Bateman's comments, writing them down with calculated precision. Then she massaged her temples shortly - a clear sign of her tired state. "You said Bethany was seeing other men...do you think she might be unfaithful to her fiancé?" The detective asked suddenly, arching her eyebrow in a thoughtful manner as cogs began to turn in her head. "Also, do you know her boyfriend? Could he be dangerous to Bethany?"
The woman didn't even notice her foot tapping on the floor, the adrenaline from the current conversation coursing through her veins, and that was the strongest drug for her.
"Have you been having an affair with Bethany behind his back? That can be a motive for him to commit a crime, you know what I mean?" She murmured in a suddenly low voice, her throat was dry from tension, but she didn't dare ask for water. A muffled rustling of city life could be heard in the moment of silence and the woman hoped that Patrick couldn't hear her fast heartbeat.
Maybe it was the way she looked at him (tired? dismissive? annoyed?), but something inside him shifted. Suddenly, Patrick found himself dangerously overwhelmed by irritation at her audacity and bold questioning, more than anything else.
"It was her who invited me, and during our time together she was clearly trying to make a move. Well, she didn't get what she wanted out of that dinner. I'm engaged myself, you know."
‘She thinks she's so smart, but if we had met under different circumstances, in a club for example, she would be throwing herself at me right now.’
"You said it yourself, I have a very busy lifestyle," and with a playful glance at his Rolex, Patrick continued. "But I'm making time for you, willing to prove good intentions. And all I can say is that I knew Bethany better when we were together. I'm unfamiliar with her exact current situation and fiancé."
Beyond the carefully curated faux friendliness, he leaned forward and looked deeply into Detective Moore's dark eyes.
"But if a woman in a committed relationship looks at other men the way she looked at me that night - her boyfriend can't be good. Wouldn't that be the logical conclusion?"
His unexpectedly brazen remark made Andrea's jaw clench in anger. "Maybe after we find Bethany, you can ask her that question."
The woman tried to hide her annoyance as his words found some resonance within her - Bateman was an utterly handsome man, it was foolish and stupid to try to argue with that fact, though that didn't mean the detective had to admit it either.
"Well, thank you for your time, Mr. Bateman," the woman muttered and tucked her things back into her bag. " I will take some time researching information and discussing it with Mr. Kimball. I think we can meet here in a week or...maybe at a café?" The woman's expression didn't change even when she realized what she had just said. "I don't want to bother Jean and the people in here," Andrea tried to shake off her nervousness. "But this is all up to you."
Patrick raised his eyebrows, taking her sudden desire to leave as a success on his part. "Why do you say you bother Jean? This is her job. But if there is any way I can help you with your research, please do."
He held one of his business cards out to her, his attitude now almost charming.
‘Of course she wants to meet me for dinner. Like all the women I've met, huh?’
"Call this number and Jean will discuss a convenient time and date with you. I will get us a good reservation at a restaurant, for whatever topic you want to discuss with me. You see, I just don't like unannounced interruptions."
The woman took the business card and, without looking at it, quickly put it in her notebook. "See you soon, have a good day, Mr. Bateman."
With that Andrea picked up her things and got up to leave the office as soon as possible, she didn't say anything to Jean. When she was finally outside, she took a moment to breathe deeply, as if she was suffocating from lack of oxygen all the time. The pedestrians passed her like ghosts, her heartbeat pulsed in her ears and Andrea couldn't really remember being so... shocked and puzzled by any man before.
Even in the subway all she could think about was Bateman and his pathetic attempts to deceive her and mislead her investigation. Now she had more questions than answers, and she desperately needed to talk to Mr. Kimball. ‘I'm gonna make you talk, Bateman, I'm gonna do more than that.’

A silence was shared between Demetria and Alfred as they waited on bated breath for Bruce’s return.
Demetria twirled the pendant of her necklace as Alfred checked his watch every few minutes or so. The old man’s eyes shifted to the young woman.
“What exactly did Master Wayne tell you about the night his parents were murdered?” Alfred questioned.
She thought for a moment. “Just that they were leaving the theater when some guy from the mafia shot them down in an alley,” she recalled. “He told me the name but it’s escaping me at the moment.”
“Did he ever tell you that it was Gordon who found him?”
She shook her head. Alfred went on. “Gordon called me that night and told me he had Bruce in his office. He offered to bring Bruce to his house and then drop him off in the morning. I assured I could pick up. When I arrived, Gordon was with Bruce in his office. Another officer said Gordon wouldn’t let anyone else near him. Made sure he knew that that boy was safe with him. I suppose he might’ve forgotten that, but I can assure you, Bruce hasn’t.”
The weight of the situation felt clearer. It also made sense to Demetria as to why Gordon was Batman’s confidant. Bruce trusted Gordon.
The grumble of the platform rising down to the Batcave broke the silence, the two watching intensely.
Bruce kept his eyes to the ground, rolling his motorcycle to where he kept his other transports. Demetria and Alfred watched his every move when the old man gently nudged Demetria.
“I’m going to let you handle this one,” he whispered.
She gave a nod. The old man turned to Bruce. “I’ll meet you back at the penthouse, Master Wayne.”
Alfred was met with silence. Demetria mouthed “thank you” as the old man gave her a reassuring smile.
She turned her attention to Bruce, watching as he made his way to the desk. He leaned over the desk table, his head hung low.
Her heart fell to her stomach and she wondered if she was up for this challenge. She made her way toward him. What seemed so natural felt so awkward. She feared being clingy or overtaking his space, but still yearned to show love and support.
“Bruce,” she spoke up. She stood behind him, but gave him enough space as to not crowd him.  “This isn’t your fault.”
He didn’t look at her. “Joker wouldn’t exist without Batman.”
“Given Gotham’s history, I kind of doubt that.”
He turned to her as she flashed an apologetic smile. She took his hand in hers, quietly surprised he accepted it. “You knew when you took this on that there were going to be days like these. Unfortunately, this one was personal and I get it. I meant it when I said I’m here for you. But that doesn’t mean I’m also going to sit here and let you blame yourself.” She gave his hand a squeeze. “And I don’t think Gordon would want you to blame yourself either.”
He pulled her to him as she wrapped her arms around his waist. His forehead rest against hers as he melted in her arms and touch. There was something about the way Demetria would touch or hold him that brought out a vulnerability in him that he had pushed away since the death of his parents. She knew how to make him feel a peace he had sworn he’d never feel again.
“I don’t deserve you,” he mumbled, loud enough for Demetria to listen.
She pulled back and held his cheek in her hand.
“Don’t say that, ok?” she said. “I’m serious, Bruce. I never want to hear those words come out of your mouth again. If you don’t want me saying it, I don’t want you saying it. Understood?”
He nodded, taking her hand off his cheek and gently pressing his lips inside the palm of her hand.
“I need to be alone,” he told her gently. “Text me when you get home so I know you’re safe.”
She nodded understandingly. “You get home safe as well, ok?”
“I promise.”
================
She turned on the shower when she heard her cell ring. She looked to see the caller ID.
She contemplated answering, but given what happened hours earlier declining it didn’t sit well with her. She turned off the shower and answered. “What Harvey?”
“I need to see you. Can you come down here so we can talk?”
She sighed. “I’ll send you upstairs. It’s safer up here. Bruce isn’t home.”
“I don’t-.”
“If you’re not gonna listen to me, then stop wasting my time because it already cost you a life today.”
Her tone was laced with a kind of venom she had never used on him before. She was surprised he didn’t yell at her or even hang up, indicating whatever it was had to be serious.
“Please let the front desk let me up,” he sighed.
“Fine.”
She hung up and dialed the front desk. After informing the front desk to let Harvey through, she set the phone down on the bathroom counter. She changed into black sweatpants and a grey turtleneck.
“Heads up, Harvey is coming in for a moment,” she informed Alfred as she walked past the kitchen.
“I assume I shouldn’t offer him tea or water?” the old man remarked.
She smiled before opening the door to see Harvey standing there. “What do you want?”
“Can we talk inside please?” he asked, a slight annoyance in his tone.
“We can go out on the balcony.”
She motioned for him to follow her. She led him outside and then turned to him again.
“You were right.” he sighed. “You were right and I’m sorry.”
Her eyes met the ground, lips pursed back. “I know you are. But I also know you enough to know there’s a favor you’re about to ask me so let’s just skip right to it.”
“I need to keep Rachel safe and she says this is the safest place in the city,” he said. “While I’m not completely convinced she’s safe here given what happened last time she was here and what happened to you at the party, I have to trust her. I know I have no right to ask anything of you, but I trust you more than I trust anyone right now.”
“Is it because no one else is around or did you finally get your head out of your ass?”
Impatience filled the sigh he let out. “Demetria-.”
“Gordon’s dead because you and the mayor just had to have your little parade-.”
“The Joker is coming for Rachel.”
Demetria stepped back, her anger subsiding to shock.
Harvey shoved his hands in his coat pockets. “One is his goons was disguised as an office at the memorial. His name plate said Dawes.”
It was her turn to sigh. “Oh shit.”
“I need you to promise me you won’t let her out of your sight,” he pleaded.
She nodded her head. “Of course. Whatever it takes.”
“Thank you. I appreciate it.”
“Does she know?”
“I told her.”
“Ok. Yeah. She’s good here.”
He went to make his way out, when Demetria said,“Harvey?”
He turned around.
“Do you remember what you told my dad the first night the three of us had dinner? He asked you why you wanted to stay in Gotham, and you told him it was because you wanted to give the city hope for a better, safer future. That’s what he liked about you, the fact you actually cared and you meant it.”
She paused. “When that Harvey comes back, let me know.”
With that, she walked past him and into her room. She grabbed her cell phone and texted Bruce.
Call me when you can.
=====================================
Demetria stepped out of the shower and into the bedroom when she heard the distant sound of voices from the other side of the door.
Not only did Rachel arrive, but it sounded as though Bruce had as well.
Demetria changed into black flared yoga pants and a matching zip up hoodie.
Walking out of the bedroom, she noticed Bruce and Rachel confined to the back corner of the living room. While normally she didn’t bat an eye to their close relationship, something about this moment felt oddly intimate and that her presence was bound to ruin it.
“Everything alright?” Demetria spoke up.
Bruce opened his mouth to respond when Rachel beat him to the punch. “Bruce, has something he needs to discuss with you.”
She motioned to Bruce, whose eyes fixated on the floor. “You need to be have this conversation with her,” she lectured him.
“If this is about him being Batman, I already know,” Demetria reassured.
“It’s not that,” Bruce said, looking up. He turned to Rachel for moment before turning to Demetria. “I am turning myself in tomorrow.”
Six words formed a punched that knocked her out in seconds. Her mouth fell open slightly, body frozen still.
“Thats it?” she questioned, her voice low. “You’re not gonna discuss with it me? I don’t get a say in this?”
“There’s nothing to say, Demetria. I already made up my mind. What else is there to discuss?”
Once again, his words packed a punch, this time in the gut. She was beginning not to recognize her own fiancé.
“You’re kidding me, right?,” she scoffed. “What about the fact that the city wants your head because they think you’re responsible? What about the fact that The Joker could come after Alfred or Lucius or Rachel or me just for being associated with you. You turn yourself in, you put your love ones in danger.”
“Demetria-.”
“NO!”
The room fell to an immediate, harsh silence. It was a kind vitriol neither Bruce nor Rachel had seen from Demetria. Even Demetria was taken back by her tone. But she stayed firm, even as her heart raced and stomach churned. The young woman shook as she pointed a finger at Bruce.
“I am sick of being talked down to by men, especially by the ones who are supposed to have my back!” she screamed.
The rage and fury inside her made her dizzy, but she persisted. She had to.
“What don’t you get?! He won’t stop even if you turn yourself in. He will not stop even if he has full control of the entire city. He won’t stop because he has nothing to lose, unlike you. You will lose everything. You reveal yourself, you lose your life. You lose Alfred, you lose Rachel, you lose the city. Investors will pull out of Wayne Enterprises. Funding for your charities, including the orphanage is gone. Everything you fought for, your parents fought for is gone.”
“What about you?” he inquired. “Do I lose you?”
Hot tears filled her eyes. She couldn’t answer. Any strength she had left was gone, unavailable to be used.
Bruce gave a nod.  “My decision is made.”
That was it. The final twist of the knife. She was about to turn when she when she felt him grab her hand.
“Don’t fucking touch me!” she seethed, poisonous venom laced in her tone.
Bruce’s eyes stayed on her, almost pleading. Demetria tried to pull away but he pulled back. Rachel, having seen enough, pulled his hand away.
Demetria’s face softened to Rachel, giving her a thankful nod. She went into their shared bedroom, slamming the door and locking it.

CHAPTER ONE: “just stay”
pairings: bruce wayne x female!oc
warnings: kissing, cussing, guns, arguing?
Tumblr media
addie put a stray hair behind her ear as she walked through the halls of her empty home. when her father told her that her former boyfriend would be coming home for a bit she decided to come home from work early to see him. bruce wayne, her childhood best friend and the love of her life. they grew up under the same roof, her father being alfred the wayne’s longtime assistant. they started dating at the age of 16 but they broke up when bruce left for princeton two years later.
“hey dad, do you know when bruce will be here?” addie asked as she saw her father at the end of the long hallway.
“soon dear, within the hour.” he responded as he wiped dust off of an empty counter. addie’s anxiety and insecurity rose as she looked at herself in the cracked mirror at the end of the hall. she ran her hands through her freshly curled hair and ran her hands over her new dress.
“do i look dumb? like i’m putting in too much effort?” she questioned as she fixed her dress.
“of course not, you look lovely. he’ll be glad to see you.” alfred responded as he placed a kiss to his daughters cheek. she smiled in response. the doorbell rung causing addies breath to catch in the back of her throat. alfred quickly walked down the hall to get bruce who’d just arrived. out of pure fear addie ran into her bedroom practically slamming the door behind her.
she cursed to herself as she cringed at the loud sound her door made. she could hear the sounds of bruce and alfred’s voices as they made their way up the stairs and into the hall.
“hey adds, you in there?” bruce questioned as he knocked on her bedroom door. she opened the door in response, he was wearing a sweater with a blue collar shirt beneath it. he didn’t look too different since the last time she saw him, just shy of a year before. his hair was shorter than she remembered, he must’ve gotten it cut while he was away. she smiled at him and pulled him into the hug. he held her tight as they embraced eachother.
“how’ve you been? how’s school?” addie asked as she pulled away.
“good, but i’m not going back,” he responded as he sat his luggage on the ground beside him.
“why?”
“they don’t want me there anymore, but i’m glad that i decided to visit,”
“so am i. is there anything i could do to stop you from going to the hearing?” she asked as she looked at him with concern.
“someone at this proceeding should stand for my parents,” he said as he fidgeted with his fingers.
“brucie it’s just going to be more stress for yourself, you-”
“you shouldn’t be worrying about me, i’m fine, enough about me. how are you?” bruce asked, annunciating the word “you”.
“i’m fine, officer gordon offered me a job at the office as an assistant. where i basically follow cops around and get them whatever they need. it’s been going good so far, i really like gordon,”
“he’s great, i’m glad you’ve found something here addie i really am,”
“you could find something here too. just stay,” addie pleaded as she inched closer to bruce, gently placing her arms around his hips. he slowly moved his head closer to hers, their foreheads resting on one another.
“we’re gonna be late to the hearing,” bruce announced as he pulled away. addie just nodded, a feeling a little bit embarrassed at her attempts to rekindle things with her former boyfriend.
addie watched as the killer of bruce’s parents stood up, she felt bruce tense from beside her. she placed her hand on his thigh to soothe him, he placed his hand on top of hers. she didn’t pay any attention to the words that came out of Chill’s mouth, the only thing that she felt was anger.
“I gather there is a member of the Wayne family here today. Has he got anything to say?” The judge announced as he looked at Bruce. He cleared his throat and stood up. Addie watched as everyone in the room stared holes into Bruce’s head. He just simply walked away, Addie was quick to follow behind him. He ran out of the main area of the building and around the corner.
“hey! wait a sec-”
“addie just go, please i need you to go!” he pleaded, she could hear the emotion that he was trying to hide in his voice.
“i’ll be in the-" she was interrupted by hundreds of voices, questions being asked. she watched as reporters and policemen flood the room. bruce slowly walked toward the killer, several of the reporters calling our names. a blonde woman ran up to the man,
“joe! hey joe! falcon says hi.” the gunshot rang throughout the room as all of the policemen pushed her onto the ground. addie looked away, unable to watch the scene. she placed her hand on bruce’s shoulder.
“we should leave, we don’t need to see this,”
“i do.” bruce said coldly as he didn’t take his eyes off of the dying man on the floor less than 20 feet away from him. tears flooded addie’s eyes as she watched the man twitch and scream on the ground, the bullet didn’t kill him yet.
“Falcone paid the judge off, just to get Chill out in the open,” addie scoffed as she drove down the busy streets of Gotham.
“maybe i should be thanking them, my parents deserved justice,”
“but that’s not justice, that’s revenge and that’s not the same. that’s why we have an impartial system,” addie responded, trying to state her point without coming off as argumentative.
“your systems broken,” bruce responded. that set off something inside of addie, causing her to swerve off of the main road and down into an alley.
“falcone is making more joe chills, someone else’s parents are getting shot everyday. thanking falcone would be stupid, because he’s destroying everything that your parents stood for, now you wanna thank him for that? here you go,” she announced as she stopped at an old bar. that’s the bar where falcone has been staying, she went on to explain that no one will ever touch him. because he keeps the bad people rich and the good people scared.
“i’m not one of your good people addie,”
“what’re you talking about?” addie asked as she looked at bruce, worry etched in her features.
“all these years i wanted to kill him. now i cant,” he said as he pulled a gun out from his sleeve. addie’s breath caught in the back of her throat, she felt sick. she looked at the gun, she noticed the sweat that was dripping down it from bruce’s anxiety. she was furious, how could he become this person? without thinking she grabbed him by the collar of his jacket and punched him square in the nose. he groaned as he grabbed his nose, blood slowly pouring out from it.
“get the hell out of my car,” addie cursed as she shoved him into the car door. he looked at her with no emotion whatsoever. he got out of the car and slammed the door behind him. addie watched as he walked away from the car and out of sight. she held her face in her hands as she sobbed, cursing herself for hitting him, for not understanding, for not being more patient.
