Be Prepared
Throughout His ministry, Jesus often used illustrations when giving instructions, compelling His listener to consider a deeper meaning. And when empowering His disciples, right before sending them out into the world, Jesus told them:
“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭ESV‬‬
What do a bunch of animals have to do with Jesus’ directions? Here are a few things to note:
First, Jesus didn’t romanticize the disciples’ mission. He didn’t entice them with comfort, luxury, or a false sense of security. Instead, He prepared them for what was ahead by warning them of pending danger—of “wolves” who would try to destroy them.
Second, Jesus compared His disciples to sheep. Not power-hungry and dominant animals like lions, tigers, or bears, but obedient and humble animals like sheep. And sheep need to stick close to the Shepherd—and to each other—for protection and progress.
Third, Jesus advised His disciples to be wise like snakes, yet innocent like doves. To use their brains while also keeping tender hearts. To not forsake their intuition while also keeping themselves pure. To leverage their wit while also remaining blameless.
And even though Jesus gave this particular message to the disciples that were with Him face to face, His words still apply to His followers today.
We live in a good-yet-fractured world. A world where evil is allowed to exist—for a temporary allotment of time. But, despite the wickedness we see on the news and in our own neighborhoods…
We have been sent into the world—to be wise and righteous, to be smart and tender, to be truth and grace.
So be prepared for resistance—because we have a real enemy.
But remember who you are—because you’re a child of God.
And don’t forget to use your brain and your heart—because God gave you both.

Even when my heart looks away from the Lord, even when it desires what harms it, I rest knowing - certainly - God knows best.
It is not my responsibility to test, navigate, measure and retest the routes of life. My frail mind and faded senses are incapable of such a task. They have no foresight. As for hindsight, they forget the truth they have already learned. Memory erodes truth, and I fall again for the lies of the devil. Appointing myself as the captain of my ship drives me into needless suffering and anxiety.
But He - God - His eyes see all. His character is love, compassion, and justice. His Way, modeled by Jesus, is perfect. His Word, unfolds his glory and captivates my heart.
I rest knowing that what I seek when my heart is wayward- truth, comfort, hope, peace - is made whole in Him. When I remember this, I am able to depart from my idols without regret, because my faith in Him is certain.
This is the greatest freedom, to no longer be a slave to futility, regret, terror, and isolation.
Surrender to God, beloved. Surrender- as you surrender to the current of a river you have been staggering upstream of your whole life. What you seek wants you. It wants and will carry you. It is Love, Peace, Awe , and beloved, it is Alive.

Chapter 4: A Hope That Doesn't Almost Work
Where do you turn when life gets tough? Like, really tough? Where do you turn when the kids are screaming their heads off for a snack, or when your email is inundated with irate messages from clients? Does food do the trick for you? I know there was a time when food almost worked to help wash away the stress and anxiety from the day. Or perhaps it’s a tall glass of wine, a cigarette, or a venting…

Living a Both and Life in an Either or World
 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? John 14:1-2  Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Can any one of you…

Having Patience During Evolving
Verse of the day
========================
2 Peter 2:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
‭‭=======================
** SAY THIS BEFORE YOU READ; HERE’S SOME CHRISTIAN AFFIRMATION **
I AM EVOLVING EVERYDAY
I AM A MIGHTY WARRIOR
I AM ENOUGH
I AM LIVING IN GOD
*********************************
Thoughts
=======================
   I was in my prayer closet, and I was praying about the new year, and the Holy Spirit said to me that this year would be the year of the evolving, and I said the evolving; he said yes, he said the process that some people are in would come to an end, and some people will start their process, he said in this they would evolve into what I am calling them to be. Still, they can’t move further in me without first shedding the unrighteousness. Are you ready to shed your unrighteousness?
   So it had my mind going in circles about this.  I wanted to understand what was evolving and what it looked like thoroughly, so I googled and YouTube everything I could. Webster's Dictionary says this “develops gradually, especially from a simple to a more complex form.” The problem is in this generation, we don’t want to do anything gradually; we don’t try to have the patience for anything that causes us to slow down, we are constantly seeking instant gratification, but with this process of GRADUALLY EVOLVING, we have to accept that this is the speed we are on.
    “2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
   This is one of my favorite verses because we have to become a new creation in order to change, and our flesh doesn’t understand that; sometimes our minds can’t either; we can’t rush CHANGE; we have to allow everything in us, every facet of ourselves TO understand the process that is happening, some people are emotionally stable, and  IF we took the time and look at another section of their person’s life they aren’t very mature in something else, they are on different levels spiritually, emotionally, physically, but when we allow the Holy Spirit to evolve us and as he moves us through our process He helps us to find balance in every area. Are you gradually evolving?
     In this verse, you’ll see that old things are put away; it’s gone because when we allow the Holy Spirit to handle everything, we are NEW, fresh, in him; actual change happens when we allow the glory of the Holy Spirit to dwell in us.
   “2 Peter 2:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
   See, once again, it’s told to us we think being slow is a bad thing, but God sees what the process is, and he’s okay with that; he’s patient through our evolving, and he wants and desires us to be righteous, it’s like a person that rushes the process of losing weight by doing it all the wrong ways, it doesn’t last long.
   When we allow ourselves to rush through the evolving process, we are going to slip and revert to what comforts us, which was drinking, smoking, illicit sex, masturbation, porn, gambling, fighting, whatever it is we will go back because we DIDN’T allow the Holy Spirit is to change us!  We are trying to do this on our own. God knows what it takes to change, and he is willing to be patient with us, but are we going to be patient with ourselves ?? The Holy Spirit wants us to SURVIVE SPIRITUALLY AND HONESTLY, NOT JUST SURVIVE BUT THRIVE IN HIS NAME, than for us to rush our process and revert and perish.
    “Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
   When I gave my life to God, it was my time. When he came in, he removed so much so fast because I was willing and yielding myself to him dont get me wrong, he is still working on me and on all of us but the spirits I was carrying; he removed them immediately. Still, the process of evolving and understanding to get me here was slow, but everything changed in the twinkling of an eye because it was my time! It was according to his plan! We all are different, it’s still things that he’s working on me about, but it’s PART OF THE EVOLVING PROCESS of yielding myself /ourself to him!
   How much are you willing to give of yourself to have a chance to allow him to move you closer to righteousness? I am willing to let go of all of me to receive more of him; that’s the process of evolving; I wish I would’ve seen and understood this sooner, but we all can wish for this and wish for that and desire to be where someone is but, we are all at a certain point in our life for a reason, we must be a beacon of light for someone! During this evolving season, be patient with God, be patient with yourself, and take every moment in as you go through because evolving can’t be rushed. Don’t allow what the enemy and others tell you that you can’t change because you can; let go and allow the Holy Spirit to EVOLVE YOU .©Seer~ Prophetess Lee ========================
Prayer
========================
Heavenly Father, thank you for everything, for joy and understanding; lord, we want to evolve into whatever you're trying to take us to; father, we want to reach higher realms of the spirit; we want to give and yield to you! Lord, help us to stay in our word, help us to feed our spirit, and help us not to lose hope in you! Help us to be everything in the more, lord; give us the right words to say in challenging situations, father, help us to lean on you more during our process, help us not to take our eyes off of you in Jesus' Mighty Name Amen

Psalm‬ ‭150:1‭-‬6‬ ‭(NIV‬‬). “Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.”
“Everything That Has Breath Shall Praise”
“Make it your daily habit to look for the good things God gives and does.”
“The desire to give praise is hardwired in the human spirit—it’s an impulse we can’t ignore. And as Christians, we’re called to direct that tendency to the One who made us. The apostle Peter says it like this: “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
It’s a beautiful truth that we are God’s own people—created, chosen, and called by Him to live a life of praise, both on our own and with other believers. In Psalm 34, David says, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalm 34:1). However, he’s not content to be a solo act. He exhorts other believers to join him: “Exalt the Lord with me, and let’s exalt His name together” (Psalm 34:3).
So let’s praise Him at church on Sunday morning and on our front porches at sunset—when we start the workday and each evening as we lie down to rest. Also, let’s remember to praise Him not only for what He has done but also for the excellency of His character. God truly is worthy of our adoration!”

Jesus our Light
Have you ever stumbled through a dark room, or tried to walk around at night when there were no lights? Maybe you ran into a wall or hit your foot on something. Do you remember how great it was to turn on the light so you could see where you were walking?
God’s Word says that we similarly walk in the darkness. Our life apart from Jesus is characterized by just that–darkness. When we try to live life in our own strength, we inevitably fail and cause problems.
Jesus is the light that shines within the darkness of the world around us, and within our own lives. He illuminates the truth of the world so that we don’t have to remain captive to our old ways, but can be transformed by Jesus through forgiveness.
Without His light shining in the darkness, we wouldn’t know the truth.
Jesus is also the one who directs our paths. Just like how we stumble through the darkness without a physical light, Jesus is the light that illuminates the way of life for us.
John 1:5 also tells us that the light of Jesus cannot be overcome by anything. There are no spiritual powers or cultural events that can overcome the light of Jesus. And there is nothing that anyone can do to separate us from the love and light of God.
Regardless of how dark things might seem, we are called to walk in the light of Jesus. It’s the physical light that illuminates the world around us, but it’s the light of Christ that illuminates the beauty in everything.
Spend some time today in prayer, thanking Jesus for the salvation that you have, but also asking Him to continue to illuminate the path of life for you. Then, let the light of Jesus shine through you by the way you love those around you.

I've been spending a lot of time with my friends lately, so what better time to post this verse that I used in a devotional about biblical friendship? (Last year when I wrote the devotional would've been a good time, too, but whatever).
