Anakin was able to leave the Temple and sneak into Padmé’s apartments at something resembling a reasonable hour.
Vos’s arrival had thrown everyone into a state, and Anakin was glad of the reprieve. He marched into their living room, where Padmé was preparing a light supper for herself, and swept his petite wife into his arms for a long, passionate kiss.
“Anakin!” Her eyes sparkled with pleasure as he gently placed her down.
He grinned. His name, when spoken by her lips, was the sweetest music in the galaxy.
“Were you expecting someone else?” he teased.
Padmé punched his chest playfully. “I was expecting my husband, but not so early. I’m glad.” [Christie Golden. Dark Disciple: Star Wars]

*Spoilers for Star Wars: Dark Disciple*
Tumblr media
Ok does anyone have an explanation for how in the whole dang world Ventress is canonically able to be in TBB? She dies in Dark Disciple, which takes place before Revenge of the Sith. Dooku kills her, sacrificing her own life to save Quinlan’s. The Bad Batch is set after Revenge of the Sith, during the Empire, yet from the trailer it’s very clear that Ventress is going to be making an appearance. But according to canon, she’s dead?? They say it’ll be canon-compliant, but I’m quite wary. I’m well aware Star Wars likes to bring back characters who have 110% been murdered, but hey what the heck right? :/ This one though just seems to completely undermine the entire character arc of Ventress in the beautiful novel Dark Disciple by Christie Golden. I hope they don’t butcher this😀

Conversation
Ben: Jedi Skywalkers. Practicing a fine family tradition of rescuing people from the dark side.
Luke: Hey, there are worse family traditions.
Ben: Like Aunt Leia’s spiceloaf.
Luke: You think the dark side is scary, you say that to her.
Ben: I won’t. I like my body intact, thank you very much.

– Are you ashamed of her, Arthas? – Kael'thas hissed. – Is she important to you only if no one knows about you? Arthas's eyes narrowed. – I would like to avoid bad rumors about her, – he said calmly. – You know how it usually is, don't you, Kel? Someone says one thing, then it is repeated in a whisper and is taken for granted by everyone. I want to protect her reputation... – Protect? Kael'thas snapped. – If you cared about her, you would care for her openly, proudly. That's what any man would do, – he looked at Jaina, and his anger passed, replaced by a fleeting expression of pain. Which, however, immediately disappeared. Jaina lowered her gaze. – I won't interfere with your... date anymore. And don't be afraid, I won't say anything.

A lot of Star Trek serieses can sorta be read in any order, and at anytime. And, while that’s sort of true of the Double Helix series also. On the other hand, if it’s read all at the ‘same time’ (i.e. over a few days or weeks or months) it’s such an amazingly awesome and epic story that really holds together well.
It starts with a plague on a planet where there’s also quite a lot of civil strife too. The Enterprise-D and Beverly Crusher are on the case though. It seems simple enough, but, it’s not actually simple at all. We then get four more books that are set mostly in ‘present’ time with all sorts of awesome characters like Montgomery Scott, Gul Dukat, Pulaski, Kira, more Beverly, and of course Bones from TOS. Then there’s the final book, which, actually goes all the way to the beginning with Jean-Luc Picard on the Stargazer and why the rest of the books and the through storyline actually happened to begin with.
It was set up so well. A slow burn as for who was doing this behind the scenes, and why it was happening too. Each book stood on its own merits, but, also had this really interesting and awesome through line. And then the final book was just…. Amazing. Although, to be fair, I’m a sucker for a good Stargazer story (that series is on my list to read too).

This bit in Dark Disciple, to me, perfectly encapsulates Dooku's whole deal. So much of what he says is correct! Even Quinlan Vos concedes that he has a point! It's no wonder so many people see him as the only one willing to stand up to all the corruption in the galaxy. It extends out of universe too - go on to any YouTube video or subreddit and you'll get people earnestly arguing that Dooku was Good Actually, that he was right about the Jedi etc.
... But then you remember, wait, who was it that played such a role in the creation of the clone army anyway?
Dooku is such a good liar even fandom believes him. And that's why he's such a great villain.

So... I asked Patty Mattson and Christie Golden to handwrite my favourite quote from Sylvanas. Now I have Patty on the left wrist and Christie on the right providing free therapy for life. The arrows were Patty’s idea actually, and I’m kinda mad I didn’t think about it myself xD

I just finished The Unifying Force...
I know it’s been like, ten years since SOTJ was cancelled, but I just burst into tears for the millionth time knowing we’ll never get our heroes stories ended properly. I would take the SOTJ trilogy books over the sequel trilogy movies, any fucking day...

'The only way to bring down the Sith’s most dangerous warrior may be to join forces with the dark side.' 'In the war for control of the galaxy between the armies of the dark side and the Republic, former Jedi Master turned ruthless Sith Lord Count Dooku has grown ever more brutal in his tactics. Despite the powers of the Jedi and the military prowess of their clone army, the sheer number of fatalities is taking a terrible toll. And when Dooku orders the massacre of a flotilla of helpless refugees, the Jedi Council feels it has no choice but to take drastic action: targeting the man responsible for so many war atrocities, Count Dooku himself.   But the ever-elusive Dooku is dangerous prey for even the most skilled hunter. So the Council makes the bold decision to bring both sides of the Force’s power to bear—pairing brash Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos with infamous one-time Sith acolyte Asajj Ventress. Though Jedi distrust for the cunning killer who once served at Dooku’s side still runs deep, Ventress’s hatred for her former master runs deeper. She’s more than willing to lend her copious talents as a bounty hunter—and assassin—to Vos’s quest.   Together, Ventress and Vos are the best hope for eliminating Dooku—as long as the emerging feelings between them don’t compromise their mission. But Ventress is determined to have her retribution and finally let go of her dark Sith past. Balancing the complicated emotions she feels for Vos with the fury of her warrior’s spirit, she resolves to claim victory on all fronts—a vow that will be mercilessly tested by her deadly enemy . . . and her own doubt.SEE LESS'
