16.12.20// after my exam yesterday I took some time to grab a coffee and wrap the gifts I've purchased so far. We still haven't got a tree so they'll sit on the coffee table next to the decorative trees for now! Note the recycled crim law notes as wrapping paper 📝 IG: flatneedledistillery

Scandinavians seem to have learned the formula for perfectly cozy country homes, which is especially felt during the holidays. Just take a look at this family cottage in one of the Swedish villages – isn’t it a wonder! Many years ago it was a farmhouse, which the head of the family used to visit as a child during the holidays. Now his family lives here, and on Christmas a real fairy tale unfolds here. Such a delight for the eyes!

Happy December !!!
Tis’ the festive season and more importantly my favourite time of year!! Obviously this year has probably been the strangest we’ve ever experienced and the true definition of “not gone to plan”. BUT I want to keep the festive spirit going! Slight confession my Christmas tree has been up since the 5th November. I woke up that day and decided yep it’s go time.
In true fashion we have our gorgeous white Christmas tree up which this year I think looks the best it ever has (well done mum). In the spirit of having fun I decided this year I would treat myself to a special advent calendar ( no not a makeup one don’t worry). Now don’t worry I always get a chocolate calendar but this year back in early November I spotted a Lego Harry Potter Advent Calendar and since I’ve been watching the old movies so much recently I couldn’t resist picking it up! This year needs more fun and if a 27 year old woman wants to buy Lego then I say let her. So I marched home with my calendar at the time and walked into my home expecting my mum to think oh god what’s she brought home now lol but she was loving it! We decided every night when we relax with our cuppa teas we’re gonna open the calendars and set up a little spot to display our Lego. During the first lockdown we randomly bought some potter Lego to do on days we were bored and honestly we loved it so much so its nice to bring something back to enjoy again.
This year I think we all appreciate family time a lot more and honestly its not something i’d take for granted again. I’m so excited for Christmas even if a lot of Christmas traditions aren’t happening this year. I’m sure Christmas is very different for everyone So let’s try and enjoy the festive period and for those finding it difficult im sending you all the love!
Lots of love

We continue our marathon of festive interiors and Norway is next. If in our countries people are usually afraid of using black color in decor, then Scandinavians find interiors with dark details stylish and moody, and Christmas is no exception. This modern Norwegian cottage has a lot of black details, from the facade to the table setting. Interesting and unusual!
