Bunny Stocking -- A Christmas Story
Bunny's person's mom wrote to me. Bunny had had a lot of adventures over the years, and last year her person asked if she could be repaired for Christmas this year. It took some time but this fall, her person's mom reached out to me. Here are Bunny's diagnosis photos:
She'd lost her ears, had some dirt on her face, and had also lost her stocking hanging loop in back and had a few smaller wounds on the stocking itself.
They wanted (Bunny's person was involved in this, it wasn't a surprise) her to have floppy ears with pink insides, and a new red bow. Kind of like the bunny she is sitting in front of in the photo below that they sent:
Fairly straightforward surgery. We agreed on a treatment plan and Bunny came right in.
Here she is, all better, showing off her new ears and hanging hook and feeling quite spiffy with her new bow and repaired stocking:
Her person's mom wrote when Bunny arrived:
The bunny arrived safe and she is so beautiful. You made her better than ever and I love the way you did the ears, the bow and the loop...
Thank you so much!

If you should find me Christmas morn,
Tucked in your Christmas stocking,
Would you be please with such a gift,
Or would you think it shocking?

Me? Starting work on my holiday presents less than 20 days out due to worsted-weight yarn and overconfidence? It's more likely than you think!
(I only have two presents to make. This one is a stocking for my cousin who spends Christmas with us. I picked colors to match his usual choice in nail polish, blue with an orange accent. The other will be a crocheted scarf for my dad, who loves crocheted scarves. Worst case scenario, I'll finish the stocking and show my dad the scarf WIP on the day.)
