do Reed's people do audiobooks and stuff also
Oh I got another ask about this and yeah! They do! It’s actually how Reed and Val meet up again after the big blowout. By that point vox and Val are a team up (velvet isn’t around yet) so when Reed sets up a meeting as a representative of the Stacks to do some business on Voxs internet it takes place at one of Val’s classier night clubs in the vip suite.
While Reed isn’t an overlord at this point he does have hella connections and the rumors of how safe the stacks are is spreading. So Val and Vox are both inclined to make a deal with the mysterious owner of the stacks.
But then the representative shows up and it’s fucking Reed???? Like to put this into Val’s l perspective: fifteen years ago your sorta boy toy was a hooker who enojoyed nothing so much as hedonism and now he’s somehow the vice president of a very powerful corporation??? Even though you were pretty sure he was dead-dead cause your hacker boyfriend couldn’t find him anywhere!
So for once it’s Val’s turn to blue screen lol.

■ for team dark ? :D
Link to ask game!
■ -  Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon
Tumblr media
Welcome to the Team Dark apartment! This is the layout I use in all of my fics. I've numbered some points of interest here:
1. Omega's spot. Pretty self-explanatory. While he can sit on The Couch(TM), sometimes he prefers to stand, so Rouge moved the end table so that he wouldn't block the view of the TV when he does. The coffee table is so far towards the TV for a similar reason- to give him room to move through or to sit on the floor in front of the couch if he so desires.
2. Shadow's spot. Also pretty self-explanatory. While Shadow does sit on The Couch(TM) sometimes, he prefers to lean against this wall in the kitchen. It's on the edge of the hallway next to his room, providing him an easy escape if he wants it. You'll see him here, leaned against the wall, arms crossed, watching the television from afar while Rouge is splayed out across The Couch(TM)
(2.5: Why's it called The Couch(TM)? That's because it's Rouge's from a previous apartment. She found it in the dumpster of a condo complex and she swears it's the comfiest couch the world has to offer. Sonic disagrees; he insists Tails' is better. Rouge thinks that's personal bias.)
(2.7: most of the furniture is hand-me-downs, thrifted, or dumpster-dived by Rouge. Except the TV and related systems- it's relatively new, and that's because it's stolen!)
3. Omega's window. When they first moved in, Rouge originally had this room, as it faced the street and there's at least a decent view of a park not to far from the apartment. However, when Omega moved in, he quickly grew antsy (re: started breaking things) about being in a room with no view of the outside world. Shadow guessed the problem, and Rouge agreed to switch rooms. Now Omega almost constantly has this window open so that he can register the fresh breeze and the sounds of the bustling world below on his sensors. (Much to the ire of his organic teammates in the hot summer.)
4. The bathtub, also known as Rouge's zone. She's pretty much taken over the entire bathroom at this point, but the shower/bathtub is especially choked with all the different beauty products she uses. She takes looooooong bubble baths to unwind when she needs alone time. That's not to say that Shadow doesn't use the shower or any products- he absolutely does, but he just doesn't feel connected to the bathroom space in the same way Rouge is. (Unless Rouge specifically plans a spa night for him!)
And of course, the bedrooms are more personalized to each individual. You can send me asks for each individual member and I can elaborate more :)

no fucking joke getting hit by a car and offered a $1000 compensation has like. god okay i use my paycheck for "rent" and bills around the 1st of every month, and whatever remains (usually around 150-200 or so) to last the month which includes things like groceries, medications, travel fees, and appointment fees. i am always broke by the middle of the month. with an extra 1000 after using my paycheck on rent/bills i am currently: repairing my glasses, i now have the gift of sight. set an appointment for my GED test bc i now have the extra $100 to pay for it and the money for transportation to get there. im getting Mickey a bigger crate, as he currently uses Arlo's and she was much smaller than him. bought a binder, and paid off the last of some dental debt. this is the most financial relief ive ever felt in my fucking life. i need to get hit by cars more often its easier than getting job interviews

more golden sun tips
1. the game wants you to keep track of how many djinn a character has on standby when you're gearing up for a summon. you can lose spells mid battle bc you used enough djinn that your character went down a rank and that shit sucks.
ostensibly this is supposed to be a risk v reward thing to prevent you from spamming summons at every boss battle, but in practice this is really only a problem to worry about when you're doing optional stuff like crossbone isle and the endgame superbosses in TLA, and if your designated healer loses their good healing psynergy (eg jenna's basic class loses access to the party-wide aura healing psynergy if more than 4 djinn go to standby/recovery, so if she's your healer you NEED to keep track)
2. i do in fact recommend the optional stuff, especially in TLA because the best summons are locked behind those superbosses.
3. in TLA you're gonna find a bunch of shit like tear stones and sylph feathers that have "forgeable" in their item descriptions and the game does not tell you what this means. i will.
you give these to a character named sunshine in the town of yallam on oseania, after you get the boat. you give these to him one at a time, and he will turn them into weapons and armor for you. what you get is completely random, as several things can be forged from the same material, and it auto saves when you give him the item to prevent save scumming, at least in the original game. the switch has suspend points that you can use to save scum.
sunshine's wife says it'll take a while for him to finish, but leaving town and re-entering or spending a night at the inn will get it done instantly.
there are also several rusty weapons that will always give you the same result when you give them to him.
4. some djinn in both games can be found in the actual overworld map and encountered as monster spawns. the game does not tell you this explicitly. lucky for you, they have very specific areas of the map that they will spawn in. i highly recommend looking up guides with pictures.
5. make getting djinn your top priority, especially in the first game. not only do they give you stat boosts and increase the rank of your class, and not only do you get sick summons and effects from using them in battle, but to get the absolute best summon in TLA you NEED to transfer a save over from the first game with all 28 of those djinn, bc you need those 28 plus the 44 in TLA to even access the dungeon it's in.
6. the superboss guarding the best summon is the cheapest motherfucker on planet earth. he will use your djinn against you and tear you up like tissue paper
But! he is in theory beatable. he follows a set sequence of moves, only differing in very specific circumstances (skipping 'break' if you don't have stat buffs, 'haunt' if everyone is haunted, and using psynergy at all if he's been blocked). he will start the battle from somewhere in that sequence, and then go thru each action in turn
the wiki has an exceptionally good page on him including strategies to beat him and the complete sequence of moves he uses. use it.
7. use that wiki in general. it's the good one that isn't on fandom
8. if you open up the battle mode lobby in TLA and talk the NPC in the southwest corner while holding down either the L or R buttons (she's the one that says "i like my men macho"), instead of her usual dialog she'll say "you have a song request?" and a tiny menu will open up. congratulations! this is the game's sound test menu. if a track has played at least once on the file you used to enter the lobby, you can play it here! even more if it's one that has transfer info from the first game!
this has no use at all but this effectively turns your switch into an mp3 player that only plays golden sun music, and was the only way to listen to the soundtrack before yt and if you couldn't find a site that had ripped it and put it up for download

Hate it when people with Money refer to something like $1200 as "twelve hundred." Like, I am giving you a thousand dollars. A thousand! Put some respect on it!

just wondering, mango, since virgil was a much higher level before this and they’ve now done surgery on the Grape Boy, what level is he now? is he back to what he was or near it?
Tumblr media
Not quite back to his "normal" yet! He's only regained a small amount of his power a week out from the surgery.
His strength will return to him slowly at first, as his body re-adjusts to old instincts, and then the rest will all come back very quickly! They will start to decay again just as quickly, though, so as soon as he hits his old heights he REALLY needs to book it for the Underdark and heal for real.
For now, his heightened senses need to adjust to the surface again. He's going to be in a lot of pain for the first few weeks; even trickling rain is painful to his crazy-sensitive skin, and rustling grass like sandpaper on his eardrums. He will have to spend most daytimes blindfolded to protect his eyes.
...Since the whole party has just LEVELED UP, here are their stat updates!

warning: fallout prime (derogatory) spoilers
i'm giving the fallout show a fair shot (pirated, of course; even if it was the best fallout media in existence i would refuse to give amazon anything for it). everything that isn't the plot is fine. funny, even, at times. first episode, as much as i hated having to see the BoS so soon, was pretty solid. i laughed out loud more than once at the "representation" knight titus brought to the BoS and it's exactly what they deserve.
the plot itself has very low internal logic from episode 2 on that isn't about the lore at first so much as basic inconsistencies (like "how strong is the power armor's punch", "is the ghoul supposed to be superhuman", etc) with way too many contrivances to carry the story forward. everyone is exactly where they need to be at just the right time, and sometimes they don't even bother to justify it.
then from episode 5 on, when they start to establish their original part of the fallout canon, pretty much every plot reveal makes no goddamn sense and it lapses into "we don't need to explain why this non-ghoul woman has been alive for more than 200 years" level plot craters. sometimes it feels like they're writing like the bombs dropped 20-40 years ago rather than 200. shady sands has a fucking vault under it. you know, the settlement that didn't exist pre-war and was created with vault 15's GECK? yeah. not even gonna get into the whole profit motive for the great war making no fucking sense because vault-tec knew roughly how many people were going to be left in the US after nuclear war, which could be intentional, but it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth that they came right out and said who started it at all. it was left vague in classic fallout on purpose.
before ep 5 i thought it could end up marginally better than fallout 3/4/76, at least. the only relief i have now is that i haven't had to deal with the bethesda-esque dumbing down of super mutants so far. please tell me there aren't super mutants.
