Eine kleine Kirche in der Niederlausitz und ihr altes Eingangsportal. Sparsam errichtet, wie die Niederlausitzer eben sind aber zweckmäßig und solide.

Auf den Fundamenten aus Raseneisenstein und eiszeitlichen Findlingen wurde ein Ziegel-Fachwerkbau errichtet.

Idk if we want to say Dick is a bad sibling because he made a decision that Tim didn't like, or because he didn't like Cass as batgirl originally I feel like we're ignoring the the following:

a. He is a just a person who is capable of reacting/acting poorly especially under duress and it's not fair to expect him to be perfect and/or kind every second of every day just because he's older

b. Just because someone was hurt by an act(ie Damian becoming Robin) does not mean that the actual act itself was an inherently bad or cruel one

c: The literally unquantifiable amount of effort and support he's gone out of his way(because to be clear, he quite seriously did NOT have to) to pour into them

d: he has as much of a right to disagree and argue as anyone else

None of this to say that he's not capable of being an asshole, he absolutely is(as are we all, tho) but a 'bad sibling'? Nah. Honestly if we want to have a serious conversation about family dynamics wrt to Dick n the batfam, we're gonna have to talk about how found family is not about assigning ppl roles based on the nuclear family format, why y'all seem to think that it is only ever the older sibling that owes something to the younger ones AND that every single one of Dick's siblings(including Cass and Tim) have put hands on him outside of combat/training situations but they seem to get 1/8th the scrutiny he does for being mean a handful of times, but I honestly don't think that this community is ready for that kind of heat ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mother's Day can be a painful reminder, so here's a salute to all the kids and adult children who grew up with absent mothers, angry mothers, negligent mothers, abusive mothers, overly-critical mothers, codependent mothers, overwhelmed and struggling mothers, mothers who ignored your cries for help, mothers who sacrificed your happiness to placate others, mothers who tried to do better but failed, and mothers who didn't try quite hard enough.

And to every child and adult who has a complicated relationship with their mother or caretaker--it's okay to feel conflicted. It's okay to feel hurt and love and resentment and pain and sympathy and longing and guilt bundled up into one big tangled ball. It's okay to struggle to reconcile the bad memories with the good ones that simultaneously exist. It's okay to be angry about the ways your parent failed you, and also aware of their personal struggles, and the way their parents in turn failed them. It's okay to recognize that you were loved but also that you were treated unfairly, unkindly. Contradictions are the natural state of the world. Multiple truths coexist. It's okay to be conflicted.

Parents are humans. Human relationships are complicated, and cannot be summarized by a greeting card. Wherever you are coming from, I hope your future holds healing and love, love, love.

Reading whale weekly is a ride because on one hand I am reading Moby Dick, unabridged ; a very academical and a little bit pretentious thing to do.

On the other hand I choose to do it by way of Tumblr book club, which probably is one of the weirdest ways you could go about reading classics

And on the third hand the whale book is making fart jokes and comparing kings to heads of salads.

So yeah. I really wasn't ready for it
