I can’t begin to express how grateful I am off the temple and our prophet Russell Nelson. When we have moments of difficulty, moments of loss, pain, it can be hard to be grateful. But I have to believe this pain we feel isn’t for nothing. So many years I’ve suffered with depression, anxiety and personality disorder. But as I’ve come to learn that this pain I’ve felt has made me more loving of people. Easier for me to understand other suffering. As a nurse I can’t imagine how my life’s pain hasn’t made me a better nurse. Find calm in God. The storm may be blowing but we can always seek shelter from the storms.

🌈( ◕ᗜ◕)Happy Pride! Today's art is inspired by a Reddit comment I wrote once, the text of which I will put here: "I saw a rainbow flag somewhere and was immodestly hit with a ray of rainbow light, ripping the sleeves of my t-shirt off and the kneecaps of my shorts off, leaving me near naked with only wearing a torn tank top and knee revealing shorts. Looking up I saw a non-binary angelic personage offering me a wine glass of coffee bathed in the rainbow technicolor glow. "Eat! Drink and be merry! for tomorrow, we die! and it shall be well with us!"I offered them a handshake and attempted to shake it, only to feel no flesh in their hand as we "shook". None the less, I ignored the scriptures in D&C 129 and took a sip of the curious strong drink...to which I soon drank it all. The "angel" then took me to a lake of pure burning hot black coffee and baptized me in it (the prayer was littered in "dangs, goshes and hot belgian waffles!") before lifting my burned body to a high mountain where the cold air and rainbow dark arts involving mosquito sacrifices healed my burns and turned my hair blood red. From the mountain I could see all of America, which is the world and was told I would bring to pass a great work across the world... When I traveled home I couldn't find rest, only for Ronald Mcdonald in angelic glory to appear at the hour of midnight telling me to go to a hill every month for 4 years and then to dig up the sacred golden arches containing the recipes for big macs. 4 years later I did so and was revealed revelation to restore McDonalds to the earth. I followed it faithfully. Now I live miserable every day for the great temptation I fell for, and for the great sin I committed. But it's too late now, I'll never be forgiven for allowing my knees and shoulders to be revealed"

✨Please Swipe + Read ALL the Way✨ Just got back from a F A N T A S T I C Woman’s Conference where understanding our value was heavily discussed. ✨ One speaker went into heavy depth over the struggles of shame that poison many people’s lives these days. Myself included. ✨ As I was sitting in the pew, this picture Lil’ ‘Lyn (AKA mini me) came to the forefront of my mind. I had drawn this back when I was 14, and it was something I NEVER had planned to share with anyone. ✨ Well… the Spirit wouldn’t stop poking me (you know how he be sometimes) and invited me to share it and the story with y’all. ✨ Shame is a feeling that resides in our gut, and is the shadow that haunts our mind, whispering the ugly lie of “Never Enough.” ✨ This is something I unfortunately have believed my entire life. I honestly believed that if I wasn’t consistently performing to the highest level of my abilities, constantly being outstandingly optimistic, producing items with noteworthy achievements, and being unfathomably empathetic and giving to everyone than I had absolutely no value at all. ✨ I felt like I had to earn love. From my family, from my friends, from God and yes, even myself. ✨ Fortunately, I’ve been able to realize that my shame was in fact lying to me. NOTHING it whispered to me ever had a particle of truth. ✨ The real truth is that I am enough. ✨ You are enough. ✨ Simply because you are a child of God. You don’t need to work for that love, don’t need to prove AnYtHiNg to anyone. ✨ You have value simply because you exist. Please don’t ever forget that. ✨ It gets better, I promise. I'm sorting and packing things because we're moving, and I found a temple garments bag(?) • Someone gave this to me as a gift when Simon and I got engaged and told me I would find out what it's for when I go through the temple • I never went through the temple. I just didn't want to! It seemed like such a hassle and I had enough faith to believe that God wouldn't withhold any blessings if I didn't get endowed in my mortal life😂 • We didn't have a temple in the area where we got married, and making a trip to the closest temple just wasn't feasible at the time. So we had a civil marriage, intending to go through the temple later when we can afford the trip etc • But we just kept putting it off and when bishopric started getting more pushy about it, I got spooked by that and started refusing to go on principle that they were being too pushy about it • Even when we lived literally 10 minutes away from a temple, I still refused to go through! • They didn't like that. And they ESPECIALLY didn't like that I kept telling them my faith was strong enough to NOT go through the temple • Anyway, I never learned what this bag was for, but I thought it was a quick sewing project the woman in my ward did for me, felt grateful for it, and tucked it away until I found out what it was for • And TODAY I found it again and saw this label. This is an "LDS authorized pattern"?? It's a cloth fold lock bag you weirdos!! It's one of the most basic sewing patterns!!
